Abstract
Description
Powder detergent composition
[0001] The present invention relates to a powder detergent composition.
[0002] BACKGROUND ART Household cleaners are used in a variety of places and situations in living environments, and therefore target a wide range of stains, from easily removable stains such as dust and food spills to extremely difficult stains such as denatured oil stains. For example, while strong alkaline cleaning power is required for denatured oil stains in the kitchen, cleaners with reduced surfactant concentrations that do not leave an unpleasant feeling such as sliminess or leave residual foam are required for floors with low soiling loads. Satisfying all of these versatile usability requirements is not easy. Furthermore, cleaning methods for textile products such as clothing can be broadly divided into two types: hand washing and machine washing using a washing machine or the like. While the use of washing machines has been increasing in Asia in recent years, hand washing remains widespread due to factors such as cleaning power, economy, cultural background, and laundry awareness. Hand washing allows the worker to check the degree of stain removal while washing, making it suitable for cleaning not only general stains attached to fibers but also stubborn stains, such as organic stains such as sebum stains on collars and inorganic stains such as mud on socks, as well as for removing stubborn stains. In hand washing, many workers wash textile products using detergents, such as detergent powders dissolved in water, but what is required is not only high detergency but also a smooth feel on the clothes that makes it easy to hand-rub or brush, i.e., a clean feeling. In addition to the foam-removing property (i.e., rinsing property) during rinsing, it is also required that the detergent does not leave an unpleasant feeling such as sliminess, as with hard surfaces.
[0003] JP 2005-213489 A discloses a compound having the following structural formula (I): 1 -O-(EO) m -SO 3 -M + [In the formula, R 1 is a C8-18 linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group, m is an average of 0.5 to 4 (however, m=0 is 50% or less by weight), EO is an ethylene oxide group, M +indicates a sodium ion or a potassium ion. )], (b) 1 to 9 wt % of a polyoxyalkylene-type nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 9 to 16, (c) 5 to 50 wt % of a zeolite, and (d) 5 to 50 wt % of an alkali metal carbonate, wherein the weight ratio of component (a) to component (b) is (a) / (b)=5.7 / 4.3 to 9.67 / 0.33, and the powder detergent composition exhibits extremely high detergency against stains adhering to clothing and also has an extremely high effect of preventing redeposition of muddy and carbonaceous stains.
[0004] JP 2017-14497 A discloses a powder detergent composition for clothing that has excellent solubility in water, high detergency against oily stains derived from food, and comfortable hand-washing, and that contains the following component (a) in an amount of 3% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, component (b) in an amount of 30% by mass or more and 80% by mass or less, and component (c) in an amount of 0% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, and in which the mass ratio of the content of component (b1) to the total content of components (b1) and (b2), (component (b1) / [component (b1)+component (b2)]), is 0.4 or more and 1 or less. Component (a): an anionic surfactant Component (b): one or more compounds selected from the following components (b1) and (b2): Component (b1): one or more compounds selected from potassium sulfate and potassium chloride Component (b2): one or more compounds selected from sodium sulfate and sodium chloride Component (c): one or more alkaline agents selected from alkali metal carbonates, alkali metal hydrogencarbonates, alkali metal silicates, and tripolyphosphates
[0005] U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2016 / 0289598 discloses a free-flowing particulate laundry detergent composition comprising (a)(i) 0.5 wt % to 20 wt % of AES particles containing 40 wt % to 60 wt % of a partially ethoxylated alkyl sulfate-based anionic detersive surfactant, which provides improved cleaning performance and fragrance performance in laundry detergent powder products.
[0006] As described above, for both hard surfaces and textile applications, detergent compositions must have both high detergency and high rinsability, and it is considered preferable that the detergent composition also has a cleaning feel and eliminates a slimy feeling. However, while powder detergent compositions are advantageous in terms of achieving high detergency and a cleaning feel, if the content of an anionic surfactant or alkaline agent is high, there is a trade-off between the deterioration of rinsability and the slimy feeling, which is problematic.
[0007] The present invention provides a powder detergent composition that combines good cleansing performance, particularly good cleansing performance for thermally denatured oily soils or sebum soils, with good rinsing performance, and also has a good cleaning feel and reduced stickiness. In the present invention, the cleaning feel is defined as the ability to make the target surface slippery when kneading or washing with a brush by reducing the coefficient of friction between the hand or brush and the target surface, thereby making the target surface feel easier to clean.

[0015] The present invention also relates to a method for cleaning hard surfaces and / or textile products, which comprises cleaning the hard surfaces and / or textile products with a cleaning liquid prepared by mixing the powder detergent composition of the present invention with water.
[0016] According to the present invention, there is provided a powder detergent composition which has both good cleaning properties, particularly good cleaning properties for thermally denatured oily stains or sebum stains, and good rinsing properties, and which also has a good cleaning feel and reduced stickiness.
[0017] Modes for Carrying Out the Invention The reason why the powder detergent composition of the present invention achieves four elements, namely, good cleansing performance, particularly for cleaning heat-denatured oily soils or sebum soils, and good rinsing performance, while also providing a good cleaning feel and suppressing a sticky feeling, is not entirely clear, but is presumed to be as follows. To achieve both cleansing performance and rinsing performance, it is essential to incorporate a certain amount of component (a1), which has excellent cleansing performance but has issues with rinsing performance, and component (A) containing component (a1). If a large amount of soda ash is incorporated to resolve this trade-off, the cleaning feel and sticky feeling will deteriorate. Therefore, by optimally controlling the mass ratios (a1) / (A) and (a1) / (B), it is possible to provide a powder detergent composition that achieves all of the above four elements. It is presumed that the mechanism by which the cleansing feel is produced by the (a1) component is that the (A) component combines with hardness components in tap water to form scum of the (A) component, reducing the inherent slipperiness of the (A) component, but that the inclusion of the (a1) component as the (A) component inhibits the (A) component from becoming scum, and the slipperiness is produced, thereby producing a good cleansing feel. Furthermore, it is presumed that the mechanism by which the sticky feel caused by the (B) component worsens is that the incorporation of a large amount of the (B) component makes the cleansing solution alkaline, promoting the swelling of the keratin in the human skin, which is perceived as a sticky feel on the skin, and therefore it is necessary to limit the content of the (B) component.

[0069] Example 1, Comparative Example 1: Evaluation for Hard Surface Use <Rinsing Ability (Foam Removal Ability)> Each powder detergent composition in Table 1 was diluted with 10°DH hard water to 4 g / L, and 20 mL of each cleaning solution was applied to a substrate (material: porcelain tile, product name: POLISHED PORCELAIN TILE, grade: Premium, color: white, dimensions: 100 mm x 100 mm, manufacturer: Foshan XiangYu Ceramic Co., Ltd.). The substrate was then scrubbed back and forth in one direction 10 times for 10 seconds with a brush (product name: Kitchen Brush No. 36, brush width: 4 mm, manufactured by Daiso Industries Co., Ltd.). The soiling of the substrate was evaluated using an additive-free system. Then, 10 mL of water in a 50 mL beaker was gently poured over the surface of the substrate, and the rinsing ability (foam removal ability) was visually evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria. The results are shown in Table 1. Evaluation criteria: A: No foam remained on the substrate. B: Almost no foam remains on the substrate. C: Some foam remains on the substrate. A is the most excellent in rinsing property (foam removal), and is superior to B, which is also superior to C in rinsing property (foam removal).
[0070] <Slippery Feeling Evaluation> Each powder detergent composition in Table 1 was diluted with 10°DH hard water to 4 g / L, and 20 mL of each cleaning solution was applied to a substrate (the same substrate as used in the rinsing performance evaluation). Each powder detergent composition in Table 1 was diluted to 4 g / L with 10°DH hard water, and 20 mL of each solution was applied to the substrate. The substrate was then scrubbed with a brush (the same brush used in the rinsing evaluation) by scrubbing back and forth in one direction 10 times for 10 seconds. The cleaned, uncleaned, and uncoated substrates were stained with Sudan III (manufactured by Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd., Grade 1) and the gray values were calculated using ImageJ. The cleaning rate for the denatured oil stains was calculated according to Equation (1). The results are shown in Table 1. A cleaning rate of 70% or higher is preferred. The mud used was Kanuma Akadama garden soil, dried at 120°C ± 5°C for 4 hours, crushed, and sieved through a 75 μm sieve. 6 g of mud was added to 1,000 mL of ion-exchanged water, stirred, and then subjected to ultrasonic waves for 15 minutes. The mixture was transferred to a tergotometer, and 15 g of cotton knitted fabric (purchased from Tanigashira Shoten, 6 cm x 6 cm) was added. The mixture was then stirred at 20°C, 100 rpm, and 20 minutes. The fabric was then rinsed with running water for 1 minute, dehydrated for 1 minute, and air-dried overnight to prepare a mud-stained fabric.
[0076] 3. Evaluation of Rinsing Ability (Foam Removal Ability) Three liters of model water at 30°C was placed in a model circular washbasin (a cylindrical acrylic container with a bottom diameter (inner diameter) of 25 cm and a height of 15 cm). This model water was prepared by adding calcium chloride and magnesium chloride to ion-exchanged water to achieve a German hardness of 10°dH (Ca / Mg = 7 / 3, mass ratio), adding sodium bicarbonate to achieve an alkalinity of 60 mg / L, and adjusting the pH to 7 with hydrochloric acid. Next, 12 g of each powder detergent composition listed in Table 2 was added and dissolved in the model water to prepare a cleaning solution with a powder detergent composition concentration of 4 mass%. Three pieces of clothing to be evaluated (100% cotton T-shirts, product name: YG Crew Neck T-shirt, product number: YV0013N, manufactured by Gunze Ltd.) were placed in the cleaning solution in the model circular washbasin and left to stand completely immersed in the cleaning solution for 30 minutes. After leaving them, the artificial sebum-stained cloths were rubbed for 15 seconds and the mud-stained cloths for 30 seconds per piece of evaluation clothing (one round trip (approximately 1 second) of rubbing the fabrics together was counted as one rub). The evaluation clothing was then removed and wrung out 10 cm above the washbasin so that the moisture content of the evaluation clothing was approximately 100 to 140% by mass of the evaluation clothing. 3 L of the above model water at a temperature of 30°C was poured into another model circular washbasin. Three pieces of evaluation clothing whose moisture content had been wrung out were placed therein, and the evaluation clothing was then loosened in the model water. Each loosened evaluation clothing was then lifted out of the water bath by holding it by its collar (lifted out of the water bath to a height of approximately 5 cm above the washbasin until the entire garment was removed), and then returned to the water bath. This up-and-down rinsing process was repeated 10 times for each test garment, and then the test garments were squeezed 10 cm above the washbasin so that the moisture content of the test garments was approximately 100-140% of the underwear. The state of the rinse water immediately after rinsing and spin-drying of the three test garments was observed, and rinsing performance was evaluated using the following evaluation criteria. The results are shown in Table 2. Evaluation criteria A: No foam remained on the surface of the water in the tub. B: Almost no foam remained on the surface of the water in the tub. C: Some foam remained on the surface of the water in the tub. A is the best rinsing performance (foam removal), better than B, and B is better than C in rinsing performance (foam removal).
[0077] <Evaluation of Stickiness> After the above-mentioned evaluation of rinsing property (foam rinse-off), five panelists put both hands into each rinse solution and rubbed their fingers together 10 times to evaluate the stickiness of the rinse solution, and the number of panelists who judged the rinse solution to be not sticky is shown in Table 2. The more panelists who judged the rinse solution to be slippery, the more comfortable it is to hand wash.
[0078] <Detergency Evaluation> Each powder detergent composition in Table 2 was dissolved in water adjusted to a German hardness of 10° dH at 25°C to prepare 1 L of a cleaning solution containing 0.4 mass% of the powder detergent composition. Four pieces of artificial sebum-stained cloth (the same as those used in the rinsing performance evaluation) were placed in 1 L of the prepared cleaning solution and immersed for 30 minutes. Then, they were washed for 3 minutes at 180 rpm using a Tergotometer (MS-8212, manufactured by Ueshima Co., Ltd., inner diameter 12 cm, height 17.5 cm). After washing, the cloths were rinsed for 1 minute with the same water used to prepare the cleaning solution. The detergency was evaluated based on the cleaning rate (%) calculated according to the following formula (1). Specifically, the reflectance of the original cloth before artificial sebum staining and the artificial sebum-stained cloth before and after washing was measured using a colorimeter (Z-300A, manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Co., Ltd.), and the cleaning rate (%) was calculated according to the following formula (1). The cleaning rate result is the average of the calculation results for four pieces of artificial sebum-stained cloth. The higher the cleaning rate, the better the cleaning performance. Cleaning rate (%) = 100 x [(reflectance of artificial sebum-stained cloth after washing - reflectance of artificial sebum-stained cloth before washing) / (reflectance of original cloth - reflectance of artificial sebum-stained cloth before washing)] (1) The results are shown in Table 2. A cleaning rate of 70% or more is preferable.
[0079] <(Easy) Cleaning Feel Evaluation (Evaluation of Slipperiness of Clothing in Hand-Washing)> Each powder detergent composition in Table 2 was dissolved in water adjusted to a German hardness of 10° dH at 25°C to prepare 3 L of cleaning solution containing 0.4 mass% of the powder detergent composition. 3 L of the prepared cleaning solution was placed in a bucket (diameter 41 cm, depth 14 cm, capacity 11 L, product name: Polytube 36, Sekisui Techno Molding Co., Ltd.), and three pieces of evaluation clothing (100% cotton T-shirts, product name: YG Crew Neck T-shirt, product number: YV0013N, manufactured by Gunze Ltd.) were placed therein, followed by hand-rubbing five times from each direction. The feel of the clothing during the hand-rubbing was used to perform a sensory evaluation of the slipperiness of the clothing in hand-washing. Five panelists performed a sensory evaluation to determine whether the clothing felt slippery, and the number of panelists who judged the clothing to be slippery is shown in Table 2. The more panelists who judge the clothing to be slippery, the more comfortable it is to wash by hand.
