The method may comprise: receiving fault management capability information, which is from a first management device, wherein the fault management capability information is used for indicating that the first management device supports processing an alarm corresponding to at least one of a first alarm range, a first network range or a first fault management function; on the basis of the fault management capability information, determining an alarm subscription request, wherein the alarm subscription request is used for indicating that a second management device requests a subscription to an alarm which satisfies at least one of alarm fields corresponding to a second alarm range, a second network range or a second fault management function; sending the alarm subscription request to the first management device; and receiving an alarm notification message, which is from the first management device, wherein the alarm notification message is used for notifying the generation of a target alarm, and the target alarm is an alarm subscribed to by the second management device.
