Description

[0001] “A MOUNTING DEVICE FOR CONFIGURING A MOTOR FOR A VEHICEE AND THE VEHICLE THEREOF”

[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD

[0003] Present disclosure, in general, relates to a field of automobiles. Particularly, but not exclusively, the present disclosure relates to mounting devices. Further, embodiments of the present disclosure relates to a mounting device for configuring a motor of an electric vehicle.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0005] Generally, vehicles include a number of frictionally engaged components such as motors, pumps, engine, gears from a gearbox, cultch, and the like, which may generate noise and vibrations during operation or during engagement with other components. While most of the vibrations are generated due to the driving unit such as the engine in an internal combustion engine vehicles and a motor in electric / hybrid vehicles, other components may also contribute to vibrations in the vehicle. Further, vibrations from each component may vary in amplitude, direction and other factors based on the component.

[0006] Even though the components are rigidly fixed in the vehicle, the vibrations may require to be suppressed using dampener mountings. Conventionally, such mountings are designed to absorb vibrations generated in vehicle components. For example, a motor mount is disposed between a vehicle body and a motor of the vehicle to support the motor, where the mounts are defined with a core that is connectable to the vehicle component.

[0007] Conventionally, the motor mounts are designed similar to engine mounts, without consideration to variation in type of loads, amplitude of loads, direction of loads in the motor. Hence, such designs of the motor mounts may not be compatible with motors and may cause vibrations that transmit to the cabin of the vehicle. Furthermore, such motor mounts may be prone to damage and / or failure in view of considerations involved in designing the motor mount. For example, the direction of load on the motor mount varies more frequently in comparison to variation of load direction on the engine mount. Further, conventional motor mounts are not suitable to bear such varying loads. Furthermore, existing motor mounts are designed considering static stiffness parameters of the mount, which may result in damage and / or failure of the mounts in short period.

[0008] The present disclosure is directed to overcome one or more limitations stated above or any other limitations associated with the conventional mechanisms.

In the illustrative embodiment, the core (2) is defined as a cuboidal member where the second damping members (5) are disposed against four edges of the cuboidal member and inner surface of the housing (3) as can be seen in Figures 2a and 2b. Such configuration of the second damping members (5) dampens vibrations in all three directions i.e., along x, y and z axes due to spaced apart configuration of the second damping members (5). In an embodiment, profile of the second damping members (5) may be selected from at least one of a cubical profile, a cuboidal profile, an L- shaped profile and the like. In an embodiment, the core (2) is defined with a lateral axis (A- A’) extending in a lengthwise direction of the motor (1) as can be seen in Figure 1 and Figure 2b. The first damping members (4) and the second damping members (5) may be disposed in a predetermined configuration relative to the lateral axis (A- A’). In the illustrative embodiment, the first plurality of damping members (4) and the second plurality of damping members (5) are configured symmetrical relative to the lateral axis (A-A’) of the core (2). The second damping members (5) extend in a lengthwise direction of the motor (1) to dampen the external force while the motor (1) rotates in both directions i.e., in clockwise direction and anti-clockwise direction.

[0040] In an embodiment, the mounting device (100) having first and second damping members (4, 5) dampens external forces from the motor (1) in different directions during operation of the vehicle for recuperation and damping turning forces in the motor (1) during operation of the motor (1).

[0041] In an embodiment, the mounting device (100) provides higher predefined gap between the core (2) and the housing (3) to allow free travel for smooth progression during sudden receipt of external forces from the motor (1).

[0042] In an embodiment, the mounting device (100) has reduced dynamic stiffness factor for improved isolation of the external force from the vehicle at higher excitation / vibration frequencies .

[0043] In an embodiment, the mounting device (100) reduces hardening rate of the first plurality of damping members (4) for improved damping of the external forces from the motor (1).

[0044] In an embodiment, the configuration of the mounting device (100) with reduced dynamic stiffness enhances NVH (noise, vibration and harness) performance of the vehicle at higher frequencies of the external force from the motor (1).
