Description

[0001] A LEARN / PLAY MATERIAL

[0002] Technical Field

[0003] The invention is designed to be categorized as play / education material and therefore to be used as a play, toy, educational material with activities and informative content.

[0004] More specifically, the invention pertains to a foldable and cuttable play-learn material that consists of triangular flaps and square panels as a single unit, which by being folded according to given instructions can turn into a structure with three-dimensional rooms. The size of the material can vary according to targeted age group and information it contains, providing interactive and educational content.

[0005] Prior Art

[0006] Today, there is a wide range of devices and materials developed and designed for use as games, toys, and educational materials. In particular, materials that support development, facilitate learning, and serve as both toys and educational tools are well- known.

[0007] The material in question is a play-learn material with similar purposes, possessing educational features that contribute to development starting from the production stage.

[0008] Explanation of the Invention

[0009] The purpose of the invention is to present a play-learn material made from foldable and cuttable material, consisting of a single body with triangular flaps and square panels. It can be transformed from a flat state into a three-dimensional structure with four chambers by folding. The dimensions can be adjusted based on the information it contains and the target age groups. From the initial stage to the final form, it offers both play and entertainment, while providing interactive educational content.

[0010] The invention is designed to assist the development of a child's ability off analysis, planning, foresight and creativity. It supports the development of skills in following instructions, completing processes, and logical reasoning. This is ensured through the process of folding that turns the mainbody into a three-dimensional structure.

[0011] The main body and its final forms after folding, which are designed to achieve the aforementioned goal of the invention, are depicted in the representative figures below. From these figures;

[0012] Figure 1 shows the general appearance of the play-leam material in its unfolded state before folding.

[0013] Figure 2 provides a representative view of the play-learn material folded in an accordion style.

[0014] Figure 3 illustrates the play-learn material after folding, showing the formation of the four chambers and the assembly with the pins attached. Figure 4 details the pin's function for stabilization and attachment of additional objects, including a view of its detail and assembly.

[0022] The invention is a structure designed for use as a game, toy, or educational material. The main body (1) is made up of four identical unit parts (c). Each unit part (c) is designed to be identical and of the same size. The four unit parts (c) are assembled together as a single piece to form the main body (1). Each unit part (c) consists of 2 square-shaped panels (10), and the 2 flaps (20) on each panel (10) that are formed into two equilateral triangles by being cut along the cutting line (30).

[0023] The four unit parts (c) are assembled together as a single piece to form the main body (1). This configuration allows the main body (1) to contain 8 square panels (10) that are shown by the folding lines (b). On each panel (10) 8 equilateral triangle flaps (20) rests. The edges of these flaps (20) face each other, and they are formed by being cut through the cutting line (30).

[0024] The main body (1), shown in a representative view in Figure 1, is produced as an integrated piece from foldable / cuttable material. Preferably, it can be made from cardboard of suitable thickness and / or similar materials.

[0025] The panels (10) on the main body (1), after the folding process, result in the formation of walls for the chambers (50), with the equilateral triangular flaps (20) creating the floors of the chambers (50).

[0026] Each panel (10) is separated from the others by folding lines (b). The folding line (b) facilitates easy bending at the desired location and angle.

[0027] The main body (1), when folded in an accordion style, according to the given instructions, along the folding lines (b) as shown in the representative view in Figure 2, forms four three-dimensional rooms (50) in accordance with the instructions.

[0028] The eight square panels (10), separated by folding lines (b), and the equilateral triangular flaps (20) created by cutting lines (30) on each panel (10), can be folded in an accordion style to transform into a four-roomed (50) structure.

[0029] When the main body (1) is folded according to the instructions, flaps (20) form as the floor of each room (50). The flap on the top then can be opened and closed. The pin that (40) stabilizes the rooms (50), that allows for objects and items to be attached on top, which is constructed from the 4 legs (44) that are fixed to each other on top of the connection slot (43) of the lower body (42) and upper body (41), ensures locking.

[0030] The removable and attachable pin (40), which ensures that the rooms (50) remain fixed after folding, is made from foldable and cuttable material, preferably produced from cardboard.

[0031] The pin (40) is designed in two parts: the upper body (41) and the lower body (42). A stabilizing surface (45) is created on the upper body (41) to allow for the attachment of objects and items.

[0032] The upper body (41) and the lower body (42) contain two legs (44). The locking is achieved by the legs (44) being placed on the intersection point of the rooms (50) that are formed as the result of the forming process.

[0033] For this reason, the upper body (41) and the lower body (42) are connected at a 90- degree angle through the connection slot (43), and the legs (44) are designed to fit the intersection points of the rooms (50).

[0034] The pin (40) legs (44) are shaped to fit the intersection points of the chambers (50) and lock into place at the connection point, as shown in Figure 3. Each pin (40) leg (44) is positioned to align between the intersections of two panels (10).

[0035] The invention folds into a three-dimensional, four-roomed (50) play / learn material (A) with interactive and informative content. It can be used as a toy, book, or activity material.

[0036] The size of the main body (1) can vary according to the age range and the information it contains. It is designed to be easily painted on when it is flat before folding. One configuration of the play / learn material (A), after the main body (1) is folded according to the instructions to create three-dimensional rooms (50), allows for the placement symbols via hook and loop fasteners inside the rooms (50), which can vary on the topic and scope. For this purpose, the panels (10) and / or flaps (20) that form the rooms (50) include hook and loop fasteners.

[0037] Another configuration of the play / learn material (A), similarly allows for the placement of pop-up, magnetic objects and items. For this purpose, the panel (10) and flaps (20) can be covered with magnetic foil or similar magnetic materials. Additionally, panels (10) and flaps (20) can be covered with writable and erasable surfaces, allowing them to be written on and erased as needed.

[0038] In another configuration of the play / learn material (A), the flaps (20) that form the rooms (50) are designed to be be opened and closed. When the flaps are cut along the cutting line (30) and folded into a three-dimensional shape, they create rooms (50) and also provide stability. During the folding of the main body (1) and its transformation into a three-dimensional form, each group of two flaps (20) stacks on top of the other to form the floor, allowing the top flap (20) to move freely up and down. This feature enables the use of joints that can be opened and closed in the rooms(50).

[0039] In the play / learn material (A) of the invention, each room (50) can represent a stage of information or play. The pin (40) that secures the rooms (50) at their connection points features a fixing surface (45) that allows for the placement of origami or similar objects and items.

[0040] Instructions can be followed to create the rooms (50), and afterwards objects or items representing the subject matter can be made by following further instructions. These objects, then, can be placed on the pin (40), concluding the educational process.

[0041] In this form, the play / learn material (A) is designed as a model where a child can paint it in its horizontal / flat form according to the topic, correctly fold it to transform it into an open book with four rooms (50), analyze and learn from the information written and / or drawn in the rooms (50), and use the parts that can be turned into three-dimensional pop-ups with hook-and-loop fasteners or magnets. By following the provided instructions or using the given pieces, the child can complete the learning process, attach origami objects or items to the pin (40) according to the topic or question, and engage in a DIY(do it yourself) play-and-learn model. This model helps the child learn colors, shapes, sequential information (such as moon phases, times of the day, the workings of the solar system, daily routines), follow instructions, complete tasks, learn through play as per Vygotsky's method, and develop logical, analytical, visual, relational, and kinesthetic thinking (learning by doing), attention and perception, as well as complete a project from scratch and solve problems.
