Description

Electric cooking appliance comprising a lid locking member and a mechanism for locking said lid locking member

[0001] The present invention generally relates to a food preparation appliance for cooking food according to at least one pressure cooking mode, such as an electric pressure cooker. State of the art

[0002] It is known from the prior art to use an electric cooking appliance comprising:

[0003] - a housing comprising a receiving housing,

[0004] - a cooking tank configured to be placed in the receiving housing and to receive food to be cooked,

[0005] - a cover configured to occupy an open position in which the cover allows access to the cooking tank, and a closed position in which the cover prevents access to the cooking tank and at least partially delimits a cooking chamber,

[0006] - a heating element configured to heat the cooking tank,

[0007] - a control unit configured to control the operation of the electric cooking appliance according to at least one pressure cooking mode,

[0008] - a locking member movable at least between a locking configuration in which the locking member locks the cover in the closed position, and an unlocking configuration in which the cover is movable between the open position and the closed position, and

[0009] - possibly an actuating handle mounted on the cover and configured to allow movement of the locking member between the locking configuration and the unlocking configuration.

[0010] This type of electric cooking appliance is efficient because it allows a user to cook food to be cooked in the cooking tank according to several different cooking modes, in particular a pressure cooking mode in which the control unit activates the heating element and in which the cooking chamber delimits a sealed closed space in which the pressure will increase during cooking, the locking member making it possible to ensure, in the locking configuration, that the lid is kept in the closed position.

[0011] However, a disadvantage of such an electric cooking appliance lies in the cohabitation and in the possible interactions between the locking member, provided on the lid, and holding elements provided on the housing and capable of cooperating with the locking member; such interactions can make the manipulation of the lid and / or the locking member by a user complex or counter-intuitive. In addition, the actuating handle, which is mechanically connected to the locking member and which is configured to move the latter between the locking configuration and the unlocking configuration, is likely to be moved, during the manipulation of the lid by the user and in an untimely manner, into an actuating position causing a movement of the locking member into the locking position, which in particular impairs the subsequent locking of the lid on the housing and into the closed position.

[0012] The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.

[0013] The technical problem underlying the invention therefore consists of providing an electric cooking appliance which is of simple and economical structure, while allowing easy handling of the cover and the locking member.

[0014] To this end, the present invention relates to an electric cooking appliance comprising:

[0015] - a housing comprising a receiving housing,

[0016] - a cooking tank configured to be placed in the receiving housing and to receive food to be cooked,

[0017] - a cover configured to occupy an open position in which the cover allows access to the cooking tank, and a closed position in which the cover prevents access to the cooking tank and at least partially delimits a cooking chamber,

[0018] - a heating element configured to heat the cooking tank,

[0019] - a control unit configured to control the operation of the electric cooking appliance according to at least one pressure cooking mode,

[0020] - a locking member movable at least between a locking configuration in which the locking member locks the cover in the closed position, and an unlocking configuration in which the cover is movable between the open position and the closed position, and

[0021] - a locking mechanism configured to occupy a locking configuration in which the locking mechanism locks the locking member in the unlocking configuration, and therefore to prevent movement of the locking member from the unlocking configuration to the locking configuration, when the cover is moved out of the closed position, and a release configuration in which the locking mechanism allows movement of the locking member from the locking configuration to the unlocking configuration and vice versa when the cover is in the closed position.

[0022] Such a configuration of the invention makes it possible to avoid involuntary and / or untimely movement of the locking member when the cover is in the open position. This makes it possible, among other things, to facilitate the passage of the cover from the open position to the closed position, the specific configuration of the locking mechanism making it possible to prevent the locking member from occupying the locking configuration, which is likely to hinder and prevent the passage of the cover into the closed position.

[0023] The electric cooking appliance may further have one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination.

[0024] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking member is mounted to be able to rotate relative to the cover around an axis of rotation and between the unlocking configuration and the locking configuration.

[0025] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking member is substantially annular and is centered on the axis of rotation.

[0026] According to one embodiment of the invention, the axis of rotation is substantially vertical when the electric cooking appliance rests on a horizontal surface.

[0027] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking member is configured to lock the cover on the housing or on a counter-tank when the locking member is in the closed position.

[0028] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking member is pivotally secured to the cover around a cover axis.

[0029] According to one embodiment of the invention, the lid axis is substantially horizontal when the electric cooking appliance rests on a horizontal surface.

[0030] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking member comprises a plurality of holding members configured to cooperate with a plurality of holding elements provided on the housing, and for example on the counter-tank, when the locking member occupies the locking configuration and the cover occupies the closed position, so as to lock the cover in the closed position.

[0031] According to one embodiment of the invention, the electric cooking appliance comprises an actuating mechanism configured to move the locking member between the locking configuration and the unlocking configuration, the actuating mechanism comprising an actuating member which is mechanically connected to the locking member and which is movable between a first actuating position and a second actuating position, the actuating mechanism being configured such that a movement of the actuating member from the first actuating position to the second actuating position causes a movement of the locking member from the locking configuration to the unlocking configuration and such that a movement of the actuating member from the second actuating position to the first actuating position causes a movement of the locking member from the unlocking configuration to the locking configuration.,

[0032] According to one embodiment of the invention, the first actuating position corresponds to a lowered position of the actuating member and the second actuating position corresponds to a raised position of the actuating member.

[0033] In other words, the electric cooking appliance is configured such that the locking member is in the locking configuration when the actuating member is in the lowered position, and such that the locking member is in the unlocking configuration when the actuating member is in the raised position.

[0034] According to one embodiment of the invention, the actuating member is mounted movably on the cover.

[0035] According to one embodiment of the invention, the actuating member forms a gripping handle and is configured to allow movement of the cover between the open position and the closed position.

[0036] Such a configuration of the invention makes it possible to carry out the action of locking and unlocking the lid by means of a single actuating member, which also makes it possible to act as a gripping handle when moving the lid between the open position and the closed position. In addition, the presence of the locking mechanism advantageously makes it easier for a user to close and lock the lid. Indeed, the locking mechanism makes it possible to prevent a configuration in which closing the lid is made impossible by the presence of the locking member which would already be in the locking configuration while the lid is not yet in the full closed position.

[0067] In this document, the terms "front" and "bottom" are defined in relation to normal use of the electric cooking appliance during which the housing rests on a horizontal surface.

[0068] Unless otherwise stipulated, the term “substantially” means, in this document, “exactly or to within 10% or 10°”.

[0069] Figures 1 to 5 show an electric cooking appliance 1 according to the present invention which is configured to cook food according to a pressure cooking mode.

[0070] The electric cooking appliance 1 shown in the general manner comprises a housing 2 comprising a receiving housing 3, a cooking tank 4 configured to be arranged in the receiving housing 3 and to receive food to be cooked, and a cover 5 pivotally mounted relative to the housing 2 about a cover axis A1 which is substantially horizontal when the electric cooking appliance 1 rests on a horizontal surface. The cover 5 is configured to occupy an open position in which the cover 5 allows access to the cooking tank 4, and a closed position in which the cover 5 prevents access to the cooking tank 4 and delimits, with the cooking tank 4, a cooking chamber.

[0071] The electric cooking appliance 1 further comprises a heating element 6, such as an electric heating resistor, configured to heat the cooking vessel 4. The heating element 6 may for example be arranged in the housing 2 (and for example around or under the cooking vessel 4) or in the lid 5. The electric cooking appliance 1 also comprises a control unit UC configured to control the operation of the electric cooking appliance 1 according to at least one pressure cooking mode, and a locking member 7 movable at least between a locking configuration in which the locking member 7 is configured to lock the lid 5 in the closed position, and an unlocking configuration in which the locking member 7 is configured to release the lid 5 and allow the latter to move between the open position (see) and the closed position (see Figures 3 to 5).

[0072] In order to prevent involuntary and / or untimely movement of the locking member 7 when the lid 5 is in the open position, the electric cooking appliance 1 advantageously comprises a locking mechanism 8 configured to occupy a locking configuration (see FIGS. 2 and 3) in which the locking mechanism 8 blocks the locking member 7 in the unlocking configuration when the lid 5 is moved out of the closed position, and therefore to prevent movement of the locking member 7 from the unlocking configuration to the locking configuration. The locking mechanism 8 is further configured to occupy a release configuration (see FIGS. 4 and 5) in which the locking mechanism 8 allows movement of the locking member 7 from the locking configuration to the unlocking configuration, and vice versa, when the lid 5 is in the closed position.

[0073] This makes it possible, among other things, to facilitate the passage of the cover 5 from the open position to the closed position, the specific configuration of the locking mechanism 8 making it possible to prevent the locking member 7 from occupying the locking configuration, which would prevent the cover 5 from passing into the closed position.

[0074] According to the embodiment of the invention shown in the figures, the locking member 7 is substantially annular (and for example forms a locking ring) and is configured to lock the cover 5 on the housing 2 or on a counter-tank when the locking member 7 is in the closed position. The locking member 7 is pivotally secured to the cover 5 while being mounted to rotate relative to the cover 5 about an axis of rotation A2 between the unlocking configuration and the locking configuration; the axis of rotation A2 being substantially vertical when the electric cooking appliance 1 rests on a horizontal surface.

[0075] The locking member 7 comprises a plurality of holding members 7.1 configured to cooperate with a plurality of holding elements 7.2 provided on the housing 2, and for example on the counter-tank, when the locking member 7 occupies the locking configuration and the cover 5 occupies the closed position, so as to lock the cover 5 in the closed position.

[0076] As shown more specifically in Figures 2 to 5, the electric cooking appliance 1 also comprises an actuating mechanism 9 configured to move the locking member 7 between the locking configuration and the unlocking configuration.

[0077] The actuating mechanism 9 comprises an actuating member 10, which advantageously forms a gripping handle, mounted movably on the cover 5 and configured to allow movement of the cover 5 between the open position and the closed position. The actuating member 10 is advantageously mechanically connected to the locking member 7 and is movable between a first actuating position () and a second actuating position (at 3).The actuating mechanism 9 is configured such that a movement of the actuating member 10 from the first actuating position to the second actuating position causes a movement of the locking member 7 from the locking configuration to the unlocking configuration and such that a movement of the actuating member 10 from the second actuating position to the first actuating position causes a movement of the locking member 7 from the unlocking configuration to the locking configuration. The first actuating position corresponds to a lowered position of the actuating member 10 and the second actuating position corresponds to a raised position of the actuating member 10.In other words, the electric cooking appliance 1 is configured such that the locking member 7 is in the locking configuration when the actuating member 10 is in the lowered position (see), and such that the locking member 7 is in the unlocking configuration when the actuating member 10 is in the raised position (see).

[0078] Such a configuration of the invention makes it possible to carry out the action of locking and unlocking the cover 5 by means of a single actuating member 10, which also makes it possible to act as a gripping handle when moving the cover 5 between the open position and the closed position. In addition, the presence of the locking mechanism 8 advantageously makes it easier for a user to close and lock the cover 5. Indeed, the locking mechanism 8 makes it possible to prevent a configuration in which the closing of the cover 5 is made impossible by the presence of the locking member 7 which would already be in the locking configuration while the cover 5 is not yet in the full closed position.

[0079] Advantageously, and as visible in the, the actuating member 10 is pivotally mounted about an actuating axis A3 which is substantially horizontal when the housing 2 rests on a horizontal surface. Such a configuration of the invention allows simple and natural handling of the electric cooking appliance 1 by a user. Indeed, such a configuration makes it possible to switch from a configuration where the cover 5 is closed and where the locking member 7 is in the locking configuration to a configuration where the cover 5 is open and where the locking member 7 is in the unlocking configuration, this by simply lifting the cover 5 via the grip handle.

[0080] More specifically, the actuating mechanism 9 further comprises a locking carriage 11 and a connecting element 12, such as a connecting rod for example. The locking carriage 11 is mechanically connected to the locking member 7 and mounted to move in translation relative to the cover 5 between a first carriage position in which the locking member 7 occupies the locking configuration and a second carriage position in which the locking member 7 occupies the unlocking configuration. The locking carriage 11 comprises a movement light configured to allow relative movement between the connecting element 12 and the locking carriage 11 transversely to a translation axis A4.

[0081] The connecting element 12 comprises a first connecting portion 12.1 which is mechanically connected to the actuating member 10 and a second connecting portion 12.2 which is integral in movement with the locking carriage 11. The first connecting portion 12.1 of the connecting element 12 is pivotally mounted on the actuating member 10 around a first connecting axis A5, and the second connecting portion 12.2 of the connecting element 12 is pivotally mounted on the locking carriage 11 around a second connecting axis A6 which is substantially parallel to the first connecting axis A5.

[0082] The actuating mechanism 9 is configured such that a movement of the actuating member 10 from the first actuating position to the second actuating position causes a movement of the locking carriage 11 from the first carriage position to the second carriage position and such that a movement of the actuating member 10 from the second actuating position to the first actuating position causes a movement of the locking carriage 11 from the second carriage position to the first carriage position.According to the embodiment of the invention shown in the figures, the locking mechanism 8 is configured to lock the locking carriage 11 in the first carriage position when the locking mechanism 8 occupies the locking configuration and is configured to allow movement of the locking carriage 11 between the first carriage position and the second carriage position when the locking mechanism 8 occupies the release configuration.

[0083] The actuating mechanism 9 further comprises a guide element 13 fixed to the cover 5 and configured to guide in translation the second connecting portion 12.2 of the connecting element 12 and / or the locking carriage 11 along the translation axis A4.

[0084] The actuating mechanism 9 further comprises a displacement member 14 which is integral in rotation with the locking member 7 and which is supported by the locking carriage 11. The displacement member 14 is mounted to slide relative to the locking carriage 11 in a sliding direction which extends substantially radially relative to the axis of rotation A2 of the locking member 7.

[0085] The actuating mechanism 9 also comprises a passage slot 15 which is provided on the cover 5 and in which the displacement member 14 is slidably mounted. The passage slot 15 extends along an arc of a circle whose center is substantially coaxial with the axis of rotation A2. Such a configuration of the invention makes it possible to authorize operation of the kinematic chain and the conversion of the displacement of the second connecting portion 12.2 of the connecting element 12 which is rectilinear, into a circular displacement of the locking member 7.

[0086] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking mechanism 8 further comprises a locking member 16, such as a locking hook for example, and an unlocking member 17, such as an unlocking piston for example.

[0087] The locking member 16 is mounted movably on the cover 5 between a locking position in which the locking member 16 is configured to lock the locking carriage 11 in the first carriage position when the locking mechanism 8 occupies the locking configuration, and a release position in which the locking member 16 is configured to allow movement of the locking carriage 11 between the first carriage position and the second carriage position when the locking mechanism 8 occupies the release configuration.

[0088] The unlocking member 17 is configured to move the blocking member 16 into the release position when the cover 5 is moved into the closed position. The unlocking member 17 comprises a bearing portion configured to cooperate with the housing 2 when the cover 5 is moved to the closed position, and an actuating portion configured to move the blocking member 16 into the release position when the cover 5 is moved into the closed position. The unlocking member 17 is mounted to move relative to the cover 5 between a rest position in which the blocking member 16 occupies the blocking position, and an unlocking position in which the blocking member 16 occupies the release position, the unlocking member 17 being configured to be automatically moved into the unlocking position when the cover 5 is moved into the closed position. The unlocking member 17, and more particularly the support portion, is configured to protrude from a lower face of the cover 5 when the unlocking member 17 occupies the rest position.

[0089] As shown more specifically in Figures 4 and 5, the unlocking member 17 is mounted to slide relative to the cover 5 in a sliding direction which extends substantially parallel to the axis of rotation A2 of the locking member 7.

[0090] In order to ensure autonomous and safe operation of the electric cooking appliance 1, the locking mechanism 8 comprises a return spring 18 configured to return the release member 17 to the rest position, and a return element 19 configured to return the locking member 16 to the locking position. Such a configuration of the locking mechanism 8 makes it possible to prevent involuntary or uncontrolled release of the locking mechanism 8.

[0091] Of course, the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described and illustrated, which has been given only as an example. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
