[0005] In recent years, the use of bills of materials (BOMs), such as software bills of materials (SBOMs) and hardware bills of materials (HBOMs), which list the parts included in a product, has been increasing. Such BOMs and the technology described in Patent Document 1 above support efficient management of parts included in products along the supply chain. However, the technology described in Patent Document 1 and current SBOMs and HBOMs do not provide a mechanism for sharing information about the inspection status of parts included in products among businesses in the supply chain. This results in significant costs for each business to understand the safety of parts. In other words, there is a need to support businesses in efficiently understanding the inspection status of parts included in the products they use.
[0006] A primary object of the present invention is to support each business operator in efficiently grasping the inspection status of parts included in the products they use.
[0007] An inspection information sharing support device according to one embodiment of the present invention includes an acquisition means for acquiring part management information that associates inspection information indicating at least whether or not inspections have been conducted on parts included in a product by at least one of a plurality of businesses with the parts; a reception means for receiving product identification information capable of identifying the product from the business's inspection information management device; an identification means for identifying the inspection information associated with the parts included in the product represented by the received product identification information; and an output means for outputting the identified inspection information to the inspection information management device.
[0008] In another aspect of achieving the above-mentioned object, an inspection information sharing support method according to one embodiment of the present invention acquires, by an inspection information sharing support device, parts management information that associates parts included in a product with inspection information that at least indicates whether the parts have been inspected by at least one of a plurality of businesses, receives product identification information that can identify the product from the inspection information management device of the business, identifies the inspection information associated with the parts included in the product represented by the received product identification information, and outputs the identified inspection information to the inspection information management device.
[0009] In addition, in a further aspect of achieving the above-mentioned object, an inspection information sharing support program according to one embodiment of the present invention causes an inspection information sharing support device to execute the following processes: an acquisition process for acquiring parts management information that associates inspection information indicating at least whether or not inspections have been conducted on parts included in a product by at least one of a plurality of businesses with the parts; a reception process for receiving product identification information that can identify the product from the inspection information management device of the business; an identification process for identifying the inspection information associated with the parts included in the product represented by the received product identification information; and an output process for outputting the identified inspection information to the inspection information management device.
[0010] Furthermore, the present invention can also be realized by a computer-readable, non-volatile recording medium storing such an examination information sharing support program (computer program).
[0011] The present invention can assist each business operator in efficiently understanding the inspection status of parts included in products that they use.

[0013] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0014] First Embodiment Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a testing information sharing support system 1 according to the present disclosure. The testing information sharing support system 1 is a system that supports, for example, businesses constituting a supply chain of a computer system to efficiently share the status of testing performed by each business for components included in the products that constitute the computer system. Note that, in the present disclosure, the product refers to, for example, the software and hardware that constitute the computer system. Furthermore, at least a portion of the testing information sharing support system 1 may be a system constructed using cloud computing.
[0015] The test information sharing support system 1 broadly includes a test information sharing support device 10 , one or more test information management devices 20 , and one or more terminal devices 30 .
[0016] The test information sharing support device 10 and the test information management device 20 are communicatively connected via a communication network such as the Internet, and the test information management device 20 and the terminal device 30 are communicatively connected.
[0017] The terminal device 30 is an information processing device such as a personal computer, a smartphone, a tablet terminal, etc., and is an example of a display device. The terminal device 30 inputs information input by a user through an input operation to the test information management device 20, and displays information output from the test information management device 20 on a display screen 31 provided therein.
[0018] First, an operation of the inspection information sharing support system 1 according to the present disclosure to present the inspection status of parts included in a product to a user in response to a request from the user will be described.
[0019] The inspection information management device 20 is an information processing device such as a server used by each business that constitutes the supply chain of a computer system to refer to and manage information such as the inspection status of parts included in the products that constitute the computer system. The business may be, for example, a software manufacturer, a hardware manufacturer, a system builder, or an end user.
[0020] The test information management device 20 includes an input operation receiving unit 21, a display control unit 22, a transmission unit 23, and a storage unit 24. The input operation receiving unit 21, the display control unit 22, and the transmission unit 23 are examples of an input operation receiving means, a display control means, and a transmission means, respectively.
[0021] The storage unit 24 is, for example, a storage device such as a RAM (Random Access Memory) 903 or a hard disk 904, which will be described later with reference to Fig. 7. The storage unit 24 stores product identification information 241 and inspection results 242.
[0022] The product identification information 241 is information that can identify a product that constitutes a computer system, and is information associated with the parts management information 160 described later. The product identified by the product identification information 241 is, for example, a software product in the inspection information management device 20 of a software manufacturer, a hardware product in the inspection information management device 20 of a hardware manufacturer, or a device that constitutes a computer system in the inspection information management device 20 of a system builder or end user.
[0023] The inspection results 242 are information representing the results of inspections of components included in products that constitute a computer system, which were conducted by a business using the inspection information management device 20. The inspection results 242 are information associated with component identification information 161, which will be described later. For example, the inspection results 242 are inspection results related to software products in the inspection information management device 20 of a software manufacturer, inspection results related to hardware products in the inspection information management device 20 of a hardware manufacturer, and inspection results related to devices that constitute a computer system in the inspection information management device 20 of a system builder.
[0024] The input operation receiving unit 21 of the testing information management device 20 receives information input by a user of each business via an input operation on the terminal device 30 from the terminal device 30. The input operation receiving unit 21 receives, for example, product identification information 241 related to a product for which the user wants to check the inspection status of the parts contained therein, from the terminal device 30, and stores the received product identification information 241 in the storage unit 24.
[0025] When the testing information management device 20 inputs information input from the terminal device 30 to the testing information sharing support device 10, the display control unit 22 displays information output from the testing information sharing support device 10 in accordance with the information on a display screen 31 of the terminal device 30. For example, the display control unit 22 displays, on the display screen 31, testing information 162 (described later) related to parts included in a product identified by the product identification information 241, which is output in accordance with the product identification information 241 received from the terminal device 30 by the testing information sharing support device 10 that has received the product identification information 241.
[0026] The transmitting unit 23 transmits the product identification information 241 that has been received from the terminal device 30 by the input operation receiving unit 21 and entered via an input operation by the user on the terminal device 30 to the examination information sharing support device 10.
[0027] The inspection information sharing support device 10 is an information processing device such as a server that controls the sharing of information regarding the inspection status of parts included in products that make up a computer system among businesses that make up the supply chain of the computer system.
[0028] The test information sharing support device 10 includes an acquisition unit 11, a reception unit 12, a specification unit 13, an output unit 14, a determination unit 15, and a storage unit 16. The acquisition unit 11, the reception unit 12, the specification unit 13, the output unit 14, and the determination unit 15 are examples of an acquisition means, a reception means, a specification means, an output means, and a determination means, respectively.
[0029] The storage unit 16 is, for example, a storage device similar to the storage unit 24 of the above-described test information management apparatus 20. The storage unit 16 stores component management information 160, update information 165, determination criteria 166, and business operator management information 167. The component management information 160 includes component identification information 161, test information 162, determination results 163, and substitute component management information 164. Details of the above-described information stored in the storage unit 16 will be described later.
[0030] The acquiring unit 11 acquires the component management information 160 from an external device, such as the inspection information management device 20, and stores the acquired component management information 160 in the storage unit 16. The acquiring unit 11 acquires the component management information 160 in response to, for example, information input by a user into a terminal device (not shown in FIG. 1 ) communicatively connected to the inspection information sharing support device 10, instructing the user to acquire the component management information 160. Alternatively, the acquiring unit 11 acquires the component management information 160 in response to information input by a user into the terminal device 30 instructing the user to register the component management information 160. The component management information 160 is information that associates inspection information 162 related to inspection results 242 for components included in products that constitute a computer system with component identification information 161 that can identify the components. The component management information 160 is created, for example, for each product identifiable by the product identification information 241. The component management information 160 may also include information represented by an existing SBOM or HBOM.
[0031] 2A and 2B are diagrams illustrating the data contents of component management information 160 according to the present disclosure. The component management information 160 is information about a certain product (e.g., a certain device) that includes software and hardware components, and is associated with product identification information 241 that can identify the product.
[0032] The "component ID" illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B is information that can identify a component (part) and corresponds to part identification information 161. Here, "ID" is an abbreviation for "Identification," and the same applies below. The part management information 160 is composed of one or more entries associated with the "component ID," including items such as "component name," "version," "inspection performed," "judgment result," "inspection date," "inspection method / tool," "inspector," "inspection information ID," "inspection result storage location," and "alternative part." Note that the items included in the part management information 160 are not limited to those illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B. That is, the part management information 160 may include items different from those illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B, or may not include some of the items illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B. Furthermore, the "component ID" may utilize an existing SBOM / HBOM ID.
[0033] As illustrated in Figures 2A and 2B, "component IDs" are assigned to indicate the hierarchical structure (inclusion relationships, parent-child relationships) between components. That is, Software A, whose "component ID" is "1," includes as components Component B, whose "component ID" is "1-1," Component C, whose "component ID" is "1-2," and Component F, whose "component ID" is "1-3." Similarly, Component C, whose "component ID" is "1-2," includes as components Sub-Component D, whose "component ID" is "1-2-1," and Sub-Component E, whose "component ID" is "1-2-2." Note that the component management information 160 may include information representing the hierarchical structure in each entry, rather than representing the hierarchical structure between components by the way "component IDs" are assigned as described above.
[0034] The "type" in the part management information 160 illustrated in FIG. 2A indicates whether the part is software or hardware.
[0035] "Inspection performed" in the component management information 160 illustrated in Fig. 2A indicates whether a component has been inspected at least once or not. The component management information 160 illustrated in Fig. 2A indicates that inspection has not been performed on Sub-Component D, whose "Component ID" is "1-2-1," and Sub-Component E, whose "Component ID" is "1-2-2."
[0036] 2A and 2B, there are two entries for Component F. This is because different inspectors inspect Component F using different inspection methods.
[0037] The "judgment result" in the component management information 160 illustrated in Fig. 2A indicates the judgment result 163 of the presence or absence of a problem regarding the inspection status of each component by the judgment unit 15, which will be described later. The component management information 160 illustrated in Fig. 2A indicates that there is a problem regarding Peripheral A, whose "component ID" is "2-3."
[0038] 2B , "inspection method / tool" indicates the method or inspection tool used in inspecting the part, and "inspector" indicates the business that inspected the part or the individual who performed the inspection using OSS (Open Source Software), etc. "Inspection result storage location" in the part management information 160 indicates the storage location of the part inspection results 242, and is, for example, expressed as a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) or the like, as the address where the inspection results 242 are stored in the memory unit 24 of the inspection information management device 20 of the business that inspected the part.
[0039] In the component management information 160 illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B , the “inspection performed (or not),” “inspection date,” “inspection method / tool,” “inspector,” “inspection information ID,” and “inspection result storage location” correspond to the inspection information 162. The “inspection information ID” is information that can identify the inspection information 162 for each component. In the component management information 160 illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B , the “inspection information ID” is assigned based on the “component name,” “inspector,” and “inspection date.” However, the “inspection information ID” may be assigned based on other items or may be given as a hash value calculated from the contents of a specific item. Note that the items included in the inspection information 162 are not limited to the items described above. The inspection information 162 may include other items than those described above, or may not include some of the items described above. The inspection information 162 may include, for example, a copy of at least a portion of the inspection results 242 stored in the storage unit 24 of the inspection information management device 20, or information representing a summary of the inspection results 242.
[0040] 2B corresponds to alternative parts management information 164 that indicates alternative parts that can replace the parts of the respective entries by having the same functions as the parts of the respective entries. The acquiring unit 11 acquires the alternative parts management information 164 provided by, for example, a user of the examination information sharing support system 1, and reflects the acquired alternative parts management information 164 in the parts management information 160.
[0041] The receiving unit 12 shown in FIG. 1 receives product identification information 241 related to a product for which a user at a certain business wants to check the inspection status of the components contained therein from the business's testing information management device 20. The receiving unit 12 may store the received product identification information 241 in the storage unit 16. At this time, the display control unit 22 of the testing information management device 20 displays a menu screen on the display screen 31 of the terminal device 30, allowing the user to select the product identification information 241 related to the product. The menu screen may include, for example, a list of products handled by the business. The display control unit 22 may display a list of components included in the product selected by the user on the menu screen or on another menu screen transitioned from the menu screen, based on the component management information 160 related to the product. In this case, the input operation receiving unit 21 of the testing information management device 20 receives the component ID of the component selected by the user as the product identification information 241 related to the target of inspection status check, and the transmitting unit 23 transmits the received product identification information 241 to the testing information sharing support device 10.
[0042] The identifying unit 13 identifies inspection information 162 associated with a component included in a product indicated by the product identification information 241 received by the receiving unit 12. For example, if the product indicated by the product identification information 241 is a product including a component represented by the component management information 160 illustrated in Figures 2A and 2B, the identifying unit 13 identifies inspection information 162 included in the component management information 160 illustrated in Figures 2A and 2B. For example, if the product indicated by the product identification information 241 is any of the components illustrated in Figures 2A and 2B, the identifying unit 13 identifies inspection information 162 related to that component. For example, if the product indicated by the product identification information 241 is Software A as illustrated in Figures 2A and 2B, the identification unit 13 identifies inspection information 162 related to Software A and Component B, Component C, Sub-Component D, and Sub-Component E contained in Software A.
[0043] Similarly to the inspection information 162, the identification unit 13 also identifies the judgment results 163 and substitute part management information 164 associated with the parts included in the product indicated by the product identification information 241 received by the reception unit 12.
[0044] The output unit 14 outputs the inspection information 162, the determination result 163, and the substitute part management information 164 identified by the identification unit 13 to the inspection information management device 20. The display control unit 22 of the inspection information management device 20 displays the inspection information 162, the determination result 163, and the substitute part management information 164 output from the output unit 14 on the display screen 31 of the terminal device 30.
[0045] The display control unit 22 may highlight the problematic parts indicated by the determination result 163 and display them on the display screen 31 of the terminal device 30. For example, in the determination result item in the part management information 160 illustrated in Fig. 2A, the display control unit 22 displays the characters "Problem present" in a different manner (for example, at least one of a color and a font) from the display manner of the characters "No problem present."
[0046] Next, a description will be given of an operation of the inspection information sharing support system 1 according to the present disclosure, in response to a user's instruction, to update the component management information 160. The component management information 160 is updated, for example, when a certain business entity newly inspects a certain component and generates or updates the inspection result 242.
[0047] The input operation receiving unit 21 of the inspection information management device 20 receives, from the terminal device 30, update information 165 indicating the updated contents of the inspection result 242 for a newly inspected part, together with the part identification information 161 for that part. Note that the update information 165 may be information included in the inspection result 242. In this case, the input operation receiving unit 21 acquires the update information 165 included in the inspection result 242, which is indicated by information input via an input operation by the user to the terminal device 30.
[0048] The transmitting unit 23 transmits the part identification information 161 and the update information 165 that the input operation receiving unit 21 has received from the terminal device 30 to the examination information sharing support device 10 .
[0049] The receiving unit 12 of the inspection information sharing support device 10 receives the component identification information 161 and the update information 165 transmitted from the transmitting unit 23. The receiving unit 12 associates the received update information 165 with the component identification information 161 and stores the associated update information 165 in the storage unit 16. The identifying unit 13 identifies the inspection information 162 to be updated by comparing the component identification information 161 received by the receiving unit 12 with the component management information 160. The acquiring unit 11 updates the inspection information 162 identified by the identifying unit 13 based on the update information 165.
[0050] When information about a part to be updated is included in multiple pieces of part management information 160, acquiring unit 11 updates inspection information 162 related to the part to be updated for all of the multiple pieces of part management information 160. When the part to be updated is a new part and no inspection information 162 related to the part exists in part management information 160, acquiring unit 11 adds new inspection information 162 indicated by update information 165 to part management information 160, associating it with part identification information 161 related to the part. However, in this case, when multiple pieces of part management information 160 are stored in storage unit 16, information representing an input operation by a user to terminal device 30 includes information capable of identifying part management information 160 to be updated (i.e., information capable of identifying a product related to part management information 160).
[0051] The determination unit 15 determines whether or not a problem exists in a part whose inspection information 162 has been updated or a newly registered part, based on the inspection information 162 and determination criteria 166 for determining whether or not a problem exists in the part according to the inspection information 162. The determination unit 15 reflects determination results 163 regarding the existence of the problem in the part management information 160. Note that the determination criteria 166 are assumed to be provided by, for example, an administrator of the inspection information sharing support device 10.
[0052] The judgment criteria 166 indicates that there is a problem with a component when, for example, the inspection method for the component represented by the inspection information 162 does not satisfy a predetermined standard. However, the predetermined standard indicates, for example, that inspection using a tool is also included because manual review of software code alone is insufficient as an inspection. The predetermined standard also indicates that the inspection method is sufficient in terms of inspection coverage, etc. (e.g., the coverage is equal to or greater than a threshold). However, information indicating the inspection coverage, etc. for each inspection method is assumed to be obtained from past inspection results for that inspection method.
[0053] The judgment criteria 166 indicates that there is a problem with a part if, for example, the reliability of the business that inspected the part represented by the inspection information 162 does not satisfy a given standard. However, the given standard may indicate, for example, that no problems such as inspection omissions have occurred with respect to parts inspected by the business in the past. Note that business operator management information 167, which indicates the reliability of individual business operators with regard to part inspection, as represented by the inspection record of the part, is acquired by the acquisition unit 11, and the judgment unit 15 refers to the business operator management information 167 when determining whether or not there is a problem with the part.
[0054] The judgment criteria 166 may be a simple criterion such as "using each test result as is."
[0055] Next, the operation (processing) of the test information sharing support system 1 according to the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the flowcharts of FIGS.
[0056] FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the operation of the inspection information sharing support system 1 according to the present disclosure to present the component management information 160 to the user in response to a request from the user.
[0057] The input operation receiving unit 21 of the test information management device 20 receives information including product identification information 241 that instructs the terminal device 30 to refer to the component management information 160 (step S101). The transmission unit 23 transmits the information including the product identification information 241 received by the input operation receiving unit 21 from the terminal device 30 to the test information sharing support device 10 (step S102).
[0058] The receiving unit 12 of the test information sharing support device 10 receives information including product identification information 241 transmitted from the transmitting unit 23 of the test information management device 20 (step S103). The identifying unit 13 identifies test information 162, determination results 163, and substitute part management information 164 associated with the parts included in the product represented by the product identification information 241 received by the receiving unit 12 (step S104). The output unit 14 transmits the test information 162, determination results 163, and substitute part management information 164 identified by the identifying unit 13 to the test information management device 20 (step S105). The display control unit 22 of the test information management device 20 displays the received test information 162, determination results 163, and substitute part management information 164 on the display screen 31 of the terminal device 30 (step S106).
[0059] If the determination result 163 does not include any problematic parts (No in step S107), the overall process ends. If the determination result 163 includes any problematic parts (Yes in step S107), the display control unit 22 highlights the display on the display screen 31 of the problematic parts in the determination result 163 (step S108), and the overall process ends.
[0060] FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing the operation of the inspection information sharing support system 1 according to the present disclosure to update the component management information 160 in response to an instruction from a user.
[0061] The input operation accepting unit 21 of the testing information management apparatus 20 accepts, from the terminal device 30, update information 165 associated with the component identification information 161 that instructs updating of the component management information 160 (step S201). The transmitting unit 23 transmits the update information 165 associated with the component identification information 161 accepted by the input operation accepting unit 21 from the terminal device 30 to the testing information sharing support apparatus 10 (step S202).
[0062] The receiving unit 12 of the test information sharing support device 10 receives the component identification information 161 and the update information 165 transmitted from the transmitting unit 23 of the test information management device 20 (step S203). The identifying unit 13 identifies the test information 162 to be updated by comparing the component identification information 161 received by the receiving unit 12 with the component management information 160 (step S204). The acquiring unit 11 updates the test information 162 to be updated identified by the identifying unit 13 based on the update information 165 (step S205).
[0063] The determination unit 15 determines whether or not there is a problem with the product of the updated inspection information 162 based on the determination criteria 166 (step S206). The determination unit 15 reflects the determination result 163 regarding the presence or absence of a problem with the product in the part management information 160 (step S207), and the entire process ends.
[0064] The inspection information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure can support each business operator in efficiently understanding the inspection status of parts included in the products they use, because the inspection information sharing support device 10 manages part management information 160 including inspection information 162 related to each part included in the product, and outputs the inspection information 162 related to each part included in the product to the inspection information management device 20 of the business operator in response to a request from the business operator.
[0065] The effects achieved by the test information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure will be described in detail below.
[0066] In recent years, the use of bills of materials (BOMs), such as SBOMs and HBOMs, which represent a list of parts included in a product, has progressed. Such BOMs and existing technologies support efficient management of parts included in products along the supply chain. However, existing technologies and current SBOMs and HBOMs do not provide a mechanism for sharing information about the inspection status of parts included in products conducted by business operators in the supply chain. This results in significant costs for each business operator to understand the safety of parts. Therefore, a challenge is to support each business operator in efficiently understanding the inspection status of parts included in the products they use.
[0067] To address this problem, the inspection information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure acquires component management information 160 that associates components with inspection information 162 indicating at least whether the components have been inspected by at least one of a plurality of businesses. The inspection information sharing support device 10 receives product identification information 241 capable of identifying the product from the inspection information management device 20 of the business. The inspection information sharing support device 10 identifies the inspection information 162 associated with the components included in the product represented by the received product identification information 241. The inspection information sharing support device 10 then outputs the identified inspection information 162 to the inspection information management device 20. In other words, the inspection information sharing support device 10 manages component management information 160 including inspection information 162 related to each component, thereby enabling each business to efficiently grasp the inspection status of the components included in the products they use.
[0068] Furthermore, the inspection information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure receives update information 165 indicating updated content of inspection information 162 associated with a component from the inspection information management device 20, and updates the component management information 160 in accordance with the update information 165. In this way, the inspection information sharing support device 10 can support each business operator in efficiently grasping the latest inspection status of the components included in the products they use.
[0069] Furthermore, the testing information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure determines whether or not there is a problem in a part based on the testing information 162 and on the criteria 166 for determining whether or not there is a problem in the part according to the testing information 162, and outputs the determination result 163 to the testing information management device 20. In this way, the testing information sharing support device 10 can clearly present to each business operator whether or not there is a problem in a part included in a product that they use.
[0070] Furthermore, the determination criteria 166 in the inspection information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure indicate that there is a problem with a part if the inspection method does not satisfy a predetermined standard. The determination criteria 166 also indicate that there is a problem with a part if the reliability of the business that inspected the part, as represented by the business management information 167, does not satisfy a given standard. This allows the inspection information sharing support device 10 to determine with high accuracy whether or not there is a problem with a part included in a product to be used.
[0071] Furthermore, the testing information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure acquires substitute part management information 164 that indicates substitute parts that can replace a part, and reflects the substitute part management information 164 in the part management information 160. This allows the testing information sharing support device 10 to appropriately support the business of a business operator, for example, when there is a problem with a part used by the business operator.
[0072] Furthermore, the component management information 160 in the inspection information sharing support device 10 according to the present disclosure includes at least one of an SBOM and an HBOM. That is, the inspection information sharing support device 10 can implement the functions according to the present disclosure at low cost by effectively utilizing existing technologies (mechanisms).
[0073] Furthermore, the test information management device 20 according to the present disclosure highlights the problematic parts indicated by the determination result 163 and displays them on the display screen 31 of the terminal device 30. This allows the test information management device 20 to reliably allow the business operator to recognize the problematic parts.
