Abstract
Description
[0001] PRODUCT DISPLAY SYSTEM
[0002] Field of the Invention
[0003] The present invention relates to a product display system based on artificial intelligence and image processing that enables the intensity and color of the LEDs inside the cabinet to be controlled by developing scenario alternatives via the admin panel in refrigerated display cabinets used to display products in the retail sector.
[0004] State of the Art
[0005] Nowadays, refrigerated display cabinets are used in retail stores to display and store food products. There is glass on the front surfaces of the refrigerator display cabinets, from which customers can see the interior and make their product selection. In this direction, as a result of increasing competition, materials with visual richness are used in order to gain the attention and appreciation of customers. Examples of these materials include labels, advertisements and special shelves.
[0006] In order to make the products in the refrigerator display cabinets attractive, canopy, vertical lighting corresponding to each door and shelf lighting elements are used. Economical and ergonomic alternatives are needed for both interior illumination of refrigerated display cabinets and visual presentation. Sufficient lighting to attract customers' attention and ensure the sale of products with the lighting provided inside the cabinet is not provided by digital interactivity in the current technique. The use of lighting elements in refrigerators to increase awareness and attract attention has become a necessity.
[0007] The application numbered TR 2020 / 05985 in the state of the art is a display stand to be used in many businesses selling food and similar products in the industry, and is characterized by containing an illuminated area made of onyx stone on a composite coated aluminum body, containing LEDs to improve brightness and aesthetic visuals within the illuminated area, having a skeleton made of aluminum profiles and black paint profiles, and containing a composite coated aluminum body. In the above-mentioned application and in the state of the art, low energy consuming LEDs are used to save energy. However, one of the biggest disadvantages of using LEDs in display cabinets is that energy consumption occurs due to the high continuous light intensity. Apart from this, LEDs that operate at high light intensity continuously may experience short-term deterioration due to heating. Even if less energy consuming LEDs are replaced on the retail cooler LEDs, when there is no one in front of the cooler or it is forgotten to be on, the LEDs continue to light up, causing unnecessary waste of electricity even if they consume less energy.
[0008] In today's technology, a sustainable system that keeps energy loss to a minimum is not used in the lighting systems of refrigerators, where the administrator creates a scenario with different combinations of lighting, light intensity and sound functions specific to the product, door and customer using image processing technology.
[0009] As a result, due to the above-mentioned drawbacks and the inadequacy of the existing solutions on the subject, it has become necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.
[0010] Object of the Invention
[0011] The invention provides a digital and interactive user experience environment in refrigerated display cabinets to eliminate the problems mentioned in existing applications. It aims to produce digital solutions and marketing strategies using cabinet functions on customer experience. To provide solution of the present invention is the lighting in the display cabinets is controlled by image processing technology.
[0012] By using image processing technology, customer (presence) detection is achieved, the LEDs are turned on specifically for the cabinet door that the customer is interested in by determining the region, the LED light intensity is increased or decreased according to the distance of the customer to the refrigerator display cabinet, demographic data is obtained, and the light intensity and color are adjusted by making predictions about which product the customer will turn to. While these functions are being performed, scenarios specific to the products in the retail cabinet are created by creating a scenario from the admin panel. Not only this, but also door-specific scenarios are being developed. Effective marketing, energy saving and interactive experience are provided with scenarios. The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all its advantages will be understood more clearly by the figures given below and the detailed explanation by making references to these figures.

[0023] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0024] In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the invention are explained only for the purpose of better understanding the subject and in a way that does not create any limiting effect.
[0025] The invention relates to a product display system that provides a digital and interactive user experience environment in a refrigerated display cabinet (100). The system includes at least one camera (101 ) which is placed on the refrigerated display cabinet (100) where the products are exhibited, and which obtains visual data of the people around the refrigerated display cabinet (100). The control unit, which calculates the distance of the mobile and immobile customers (200, 201 ) around the refrigerated display cabinet (100) from the camera (101 ) images to the refrigerated display cabinet (100), also instantly controls the light intensity and color of the LEDs around each door (102) according to the distance of the people, visual data and the opening / closing of the refrigerated display cabinet (100) door (102). In a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is an administrator panel where scenarios are created that the control unit will apply depending on whether there are customers in the camera (101 ) viewing angle, if any, the distance of the people to the refrigerated display cabinet (100), visual data and the open / closed status of the doors (102). The administrator responsible for the admin panel is responsible for determining the scenarios for the refrigerated display cabinet (100) and providing digital interactive experiences to customers. These scenarios are not limited to the specified ones, and alternatives can be implemented by the administrator from the admin panel. Whether the customer is mobile or immobile is also an important factor in determining and operating the scenarios.
[0026] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the visual data mentioned are age, gender, glasses usage status and vision status. Scenarios are run by evaluating the customer's movement and the status of the doors (102) together with visual data. Customer experience is improved through scenarios using LEDs and speakers specific to each door (102).
[0027] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the speakers on the refrigerated display cabinet (100) are used to inform and guide the customer. By the speakers, product voice-overs and brand advertisements specific to the needs of customers with special conditions (vision loss, elderly, etc.) are made.
[0028] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, scenarios developed from the admin panel through image processing and artificial intelligence make an age estimation by obtaining demographic data and make a product estimation that will be purchased due to the young person's interest in the refrigerated display cabinet (100). As a result, the illumination inside the refrigerated display cabinet (100) may change.
[0029] In contrast, in another scenario, when an older customer interacts with the refrigerated display cabinet (100), the normal brightness of the LED lights is increased to make the product labels more readable and to help read the expiration dates of the products more clearly. As another side benefit, a scenario of increasing LED brightness for a customer wearing glasses is realized.
[0030] In another scenario, for customers who have lost their vision completely or partially, a loudspeaker is used to announce on which shelf the product is located and to provide information about the product. In such cases, light intensity adjustment is a warning. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, when there is no customer and any presence is detected by image processing outside the market working hours, the light intensity of the refrigerated display cabinet (100) is increased, and an audible warning is provided. In cases such as theft, it sends an emergency call via the control unit and notifies the relevant administrator and registered devices via the mobile application. Thus, a contribution is made to the security within the market.
[0031] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the refrigerated display cabinet (100) having an intelligent lighting system with image processing switches to low light intensity mode when the camera (101 ) does not detect a person in the viewing angle. The viewing angle and positioning of the camera (101 ) are made according to the market plan. The excessive light intensity causes the temperature of the product in the refrigerated display cabinet (100) to increase. One of the biggest disadvantages of this is that the temperature of the products increases due to excessive light intensity, causing them to deteriorate. This is prevented by optimizing light intensity and energy savings are achieved.
[0032] On the other hand, if there is no one in the camera (101 ) angle and the market light intensity is high, the brightness of the LEDs is reduced according to the current light level. Thus, when the customer does not interact with the refrigerated display cabinet (100), no energy is wasted.
[0033] When the customer approaches the refrigerated display cabinet (100), the light intensity of not all LEDs but the LEDs closest to the area where the customer comes, specifically the door (102), canopy and shelf, are increased. For example, when a customer approaching from the right is detected, the brightness of the LEDs on the right side of the refrigerated display cabinet (100) is increased.
[0034] To explain a different feature of the invention with an example, when products of a brand are lined up behind a door (102):
[0035] • Unlike other shelves, LEDs in colors that remind the brand are specially adjusted to the shelf.
[0036] • When the door (102) opposite that shelf is opened, the brand's generic music is played,
[0037] • The doors (102) provide an informative speech to the customer who interacts with the cabinet (102) for discounts on the shelf during product promotions,
[0038] • When the customer enters the angle of the camera (101 ), the brightness of the LEDs increases in the direction of the arrival of the refrigerated display cabinet (100) (right, left or opposite direction), • When the customer takes the product and walks away, the LED brightness decreases,
[0039] • Increasing the brightness when detecting presence outside market working hours, making emergency calls and sending notifications to the administrator via the mobile application, • If the ambient light intensity is high, the LED brightness is reduced by switching to saving mode.
