Abstract
Description
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING DALI SIGNALTECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of lighting and, more particularly, to a method for processing a DALI signal and an apparatus for the same.BACKGROUND
[0002] This section introduces aspects that may facilitate better understanding of the present disclosure. Accordingly, the statements of this section are to be read in this light and are not to be understood as admissions about what is in the prior art or what is not in the prior art.
[0003] DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) is a data transmission protocol that defines a digital communication method between lighting devices and controllers. DALI system is an intelligent lighting control system, not only can be used for lighting control in a room, but also can be connected with the building management system (BMS) . The most important feature of the DALI system is that each lighting device has an independent address, and the lighting device can be accurately dimmed through the DALI system.
[0004] The DALI protocol is established through a master-slave control model. DALI controls an entire system through a central controller and is connected to a 2-wire control line through the DALI interface. Each device is addressed separately by a dimming controller, and any lighting device on the control line can be operated independently through addressing.
[0005] Currently, there exists bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between two DALI interfaces, such that the bidirectional transmission may cross a safety extra low voltage (SELV) barrier which can satisfy DALI timing requirement.SUMMARY
[0006] Inventors of this disclosure found that the above existing bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between two DALI interfaces exists problems below: existing bidirectional transmission is very complex and not easy to understand; only one side DALI interface may meet DALI standard another side DALI interface does not meet DALI standard; that is to say, only one DALI interface in the two DALI interfaces is a standard DALI interface, and the other, for example, is an SELV DALI interface which is not a standard DALI interface; and the circuit structure and circuit control of other DALI interfaces besides the standard DALI interface, such as the SELV DALI interface, is complex and need to depend on hardware platform, which causes poor portability.

[0040] First embodiment
[0041] A method for processing a DALI signal is provided in the first embodiment.
[0042] Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of a method for processing a DALI signal with an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 1, the method may include:
[0043] block 101, a connecting signal for indicating connecting two standard DALI buses is received;
[0044] block 102, it is determined whether the connecting signal is true; and
[0045] block 103, when it is determined that the connecting signal is true, bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses is established via a first standard DALI interface and a second standard DALI interface, the first standard DALI interface and the second standard DALI interface being respectively connected to one of the two standard DALI bus.
[0046] According to the first embodiment, with establishing bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses via a first standard DALI interface and a second standard DALI interface, bidirectional transmission of two standard DALI buses may be achieved through simple and modularized DALI interfaces which satisfy DALI standard, thereby making it easy to use on different platform and keeping the safety of the signal.
[0047] In an embodiment, the connecting signal in block 101 may be a connecting command sent by an operator or a connecting instruction sent by one of the two the standard DALI bus.
[0048] In an embodiment, for example, true or false of the connecting signal may be determined by the level of potential; for example, receiving a high potential indicates that the connecting signal is true, while receiving a low potential indicates that the connecting signal is false. In this application, the ways to determine whether a signal is true or false are not limited thereto.
[0049] In an embodiment, taking connecting two standard DALI interfaces as an example for explanation, however, this application is not limited thereto.
[0050] In an embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, before block 103, the method may further include:
[0051] block 104, the first standard DALI interface is connected to the second standard DALI interface.
[0052] In an embodiment, for example, there are two ways of connecting the first standard DALI interface to the second standard DALI interface as described below.
[0053] Fig. 2 (a) and Fig. 2 (b) are a schematic diagram of an example of connecting the first standard DALI interface to the second standard DALI interface with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0054] As shown in Fig. 2 (a) , the first standard DALI interface 201 is connected to the standard DALI bus 202, and the second standard DALI interface 203 is connected to the other standard DALI bus 204. The first standard DALI interface 201 is connected to the second standard DALI interface 202 via an MCU provided therebetween.
[0055] As shown in Fig. 2 (b) , the first standard DALI interface 201 is connected to the standard DALI bus 202, and the second standard DALI interface 203 is connected to the other standard DALI bus 204. The first standard DALI interface 201 is connected to the second standard DALI interface 202 via an MCU provided therebetween, a first switch 205 is provided between an output port 2012 of the first standard DALI interface 201 and an input port 2031 of the second standard DALI interface 203, and a second switch 206 is provided between an input port 2011 of the first standard DALI interface 201 and an output port 2032 of the second standard DALI interface 203. And the first switch 205 and the second switch 206 are also connected to the MCU.
[0056] Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of block 103 with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0057] In an embodiment, in the case where the connection way between the first standard DALI interface 201 and the second standard DALI interface 203 is shown as Fig. 2 (a) , the establishing bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses via a first standard DALI interface and a second standard DALI interface (block 103) may include:
[0058] block 301, it is detected that the DALI signal comes from which one of the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface through an output port of the first standard DALI interface and an output port of the second standard DALI interface;
[0059] block 302, when the DALI signal comes from the first standard DALI interface, a signal of an input port of the second standard DALI interface is set to be the same with the DALI signal of the output port of the first standard DALI interface; and
[0060] block 303, when the DALI signal comes from the second standard DALI interface, signal of an input port of the first standard DALI interface is set a to be the same with the DALI signal of the output port of the second standard DALI interface.
[0061] In an embodiment, in order to meet transmission time, no matter what kind of a signal is, the signal may be just copied from the output port of the standard DALI interface from which the signal comes to the input port of the the standard DALI interface having no the signal; for example, block 302 may include: mapping the DALI signal of the output port of the first standard DALI interface to the input port of the second standard DALI interface in real time, and block 303 may include: mapping the DALI signal of the output port of the second standard DALI interface to the input port of the first standard DALI interface in real time.
[0062] As such, the standard DALI bus 202 connected to the the first standard DALI interface 201 follows up the standard DALI bus 204 connected to the second standard DALI interface 203.
[0063] Fig. 4 is another schematic diagram of block 103 with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0064] In an embodiment, in the case where the connection way between the first standard DALI interface 201 and the second standard DALI interface 203 is shown as Fig. 2 (b) , the establishing bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses via a first standard DALI interface and a second standard DALI interface (block 103) may include:
[0065] block 401, it is detected that the DALI signal comes from which one of the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface through an output port of the first standard DALI interface and an output port of the second standard DALI interface;
[0066] block 402, when the DALI signal comes from the first standard DALI interface, the first switch is closed to make the output port of the first standard DALI interface directly connected to the input port of the second standard DALI interface; and
[0067] block 403, when the DALI signal comes from the second standard DALI interface, the second switch is closed to make the output port of the second standard DALI interface directly connected to the input port of the first standard DALI interface.
[0068] As such, through closing the switch, a signal may be directly delivered from the standard DALI interface from which the signal comes to the standard DALI interface having no the signal.
[0069] In an embodiment, the first switch 205 and the second switch 206 may be an optocoupler. As such, it could keep the signal isolate and achieve DALI signal transmission delay less than 15 us. For example, the optocoupler in standard DALI interface may be a high speed optocoupler or a digital isolator in order to better guarantee transmission time.
[0070] In an embodiment, after the establishing bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses via a first standard DALI interface and a second standard DALI interface (block 103) , the method may further include: responding the DALI signal from the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface. For example, the MCU responds the DALI signal from the first standard DALI 201 interface or the second standard DALI interface 203. As such, the MCU may decide how to work according to the DALI signal.
[0071] In an embodiment, as shown in Fig. 1, the method may further include:
[0072] block 105, when it is determined that the connecting signal is false, the first standard DALI interface and the second standard DALI interface is enabled to work independently, and the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface is responded.
[0073] As such, it may be achieved that two sides standard DALI interface independent work.

[0079] 502, the MCU determines whether the connecting signal is true or false; and if the connecting signal is true, enters into 503, and if the connecting signal is false, then enters into 508;
[0080] For example, true or false of the connecting signal may be determined by the level of potential.
[0081] 503, if the connecting signal is true, the MCU connects the first standard DALI interface to the second standard DALI interface.
[0082] For example, the MCU connects the first standard DALI interface to the second standard DALI interface as shown in Fig. 2 (a) .
[0083] 504, the MCU detects that the DALI signal comes from which one of the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface;
[0084] For example, the MCU preforms the detection through an output port of the first standard DALI interface and an output port of the second standard DALI interface.
[0085] 505, when the DALI signal comes from the first standard DALI interface, the MCU sets a signal of an input port of the second standard DALI interface to be the same with the DALI signal of the output port of the first standard DALI interface, to establish bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses;
[0086] For example, the MCU maps the DALI signal of the output port of the first standard DALI interface to the input port of the second standard DALI interface in real time.
[0087] 506, when the DALI signal comes from the second standard DALI interface, the MCU sets a signal of an input port of the first standard DALI interface to be the same with the DALI signal of the output port of the second standard DALI interface, to establish bidirectional transmission of a DALI signal between the two standard DALI buses;
[0088] For example, the MCU maps the DALI signal of the output port of the second standard DALI interface to the input port of the first standard DALI interface in real time.

[0093] Fig. 6 is another flowchart of a method for processing a DALI signal with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0094] 601, an MCU receives a connecting signal for indicating connecting two standard DALI buses;
[0095] 602, the MCU determines whether the connecting signal is true or false; and if the connecting signal is true, enters into 603, and if the connecting signal is false, then enters into 608;
[0096] 603, if the connecting signal is true, the MCU connects the first standard DALI interface to the second standard DALI interface.
[0097] For example, the MCU connects the first standard DALI interface to the second standard DALI interface as shown in Fig. 2 (b) .

[0100] For example, the first switch may be an optocoupler, and the optocoupler may be a high speed optocoupler or a digital isolator.
[0101] 606, when the DALI signal comes from the second standard DALI interface, the MCU closes the second switch to make the output port of the second standard DALI interface directly connected to the input port of the first standard DALI interface;
[0102] For example, the second switch may be an optocoupler, and the optocoupler may be a high speed optocoupler or a digital isolator.
[0103] 607, the MCU responds the DALI signal from the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface;
[0104] 608, if the connecting signal is false, the MCU enables the first standard DALI interface and the second standard DALI interface to work independently, and responds the first standard DALI interface or the second standard DALI interface.
[0105] In an embodiment, the implement of 601, 602, 604, 607 and 608 may refer to blocks 501, 502, 504, 507 and 508 in Fig. 5, which shall not be described herein any further.
