Abstract
Description
A System For Monitoring Distribution of Takeaway Boxes A Method ThereofTechnical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a system for monitoring distribution of takeaway boxes and a method thereof. Preferably, the present invention relates to a system for monitoring distribution of advertising medium. Background
[0002] When advertising, it is important for the advertiser to know who the target audience is and whether the advertisement reaches the target audience. There are many forms of advertising, e.g. digital media advertising, print media advertising. While digital advertising is gaining popularity, print advertising is still one of the most effective ways of advertising. One form of print advertising is using food packaging, e.g. takeaway boxes.
[0003] Advertiser would print the advertisement onto the food packaging such that when a consumer uses the food packaging, the advertisement will be seen by the consumer and those around the consumer. Advertisement may include promotional material for non-profit purposes, e.g. health awareness. As the consumer takes some time to consume the food in the food packaging, there is a higher chance of the consumer looking at the advertisement for a longer period of time. In this way, the consumer will have longer exposure to the advertisement and have a better and more lasting impression of the message in the advertisement. For an advertiser to reach target audience using takeaway boxes, the advertiser has to print the advertisement on the takeaway boxes and distribute them to the target audience.
[0004] For the advertisement to reach the target audience, the advertiser would usually engage a box supplier. Advertiser may provide the takeaway boxes to the box supplier or commission the box supplier to make the takeaway boxes. Advertiser may provide the advertisement artwork to the box supplier to be printed onto the takeaway boxes. Advertiser may also decide on the quantity of takeaway boxes to be distributed.
[0005] Box supplier supplies the takeaway boxes to the at least one food outlet. A distributor may be engaged to distribute the takeaway boxes to the at least one food outlet. Box supplier may be a manufacturer who manufactures the takeaway boxes. Distributor may be an agent, e.g. a company, with a distribution network to distribute the takeaway boxes to the food outlets.
[0006] However, it is difficult to know whether the advertisement reaches the target audience. Further, it is difficult to identify the reach and effectiveness of the advertisement. Therefore, it would be useful to find a solution to solve the abovementioned problem.Summary

Method may be a computer- implemented method.
[0028] Depending on the target audience that the advertiser wishes to reach, the box supplier may identify the location or area to distribute the takeaway boxes 200 to. For example, the advertiser may target students and the box supplier may distribute the takeaway boxes 200 to food outlet in schools. In another example, the advertiser may target students in the central area of a city and the box supplier may distribute the takeaway boxes 200 to food outlets in the schools that are in the central area. In another example, the advertiser may target consumers in an establishment or institute and the box supplier may distribute the takeaway boxes 200 to the food outlet or outlets in the establishment or institute.
[0029] When a batch of takeaway boxes 200 is delivered to a food outlet, the batch code and the outlet code are scanned by the mobile device 20 and transmitted wirelessly to the system 100. Alternatively, the box code may be scanned. If the outlet code contains other information, e.g. location of outlet, the information may be read and transmitted to the system 100 as well. Once the system 100 receives the data, e.g. batch identifier and outlet identifier, the system 100 is able to retrieve the box record and the outlet record based on the box identifier and outlet identifier. System 100 is then configured to retrieve the batch quantity and location of the takeaway boxes 200 that is being received. System 100 may not need to retrieve the location if the data is received from the mobile device 20. Mobile device 20 may be configured to transmit the geo-location data of the location of the mobile device 20 when transmitting the data. Hence, the system 100 may be configured to receive geo-location data of the location of the mobile device 20 from the mobile device 20 when the batch of takeaway boxes 200 is received by the food outlet. In this way, the system 100 is able to verify the geo-location data against the location of the outlet retrieved and determine that the batch of takeaway boxes 200 are despatched to the actual location of the food outlet. Mobile device 20 may be configured to insert a date / time stamp of the date and / or time that the outlet code is scanned and transmit the datc / timc stamp to the system 100. System 100 may be configured to receive the date / time stamp that denotes the date and / or time the batch of takeaway boxes 200 is received by the food outlet. It is understood that other information may be retrieved from the databases based on the identifiers when required.
[0030] When a distributor distributes a plurality of batches of takeaway boxes 200 to a plurality of food outlets, the distributor may scan the distributor code and transmit the distributor identifier to the system 100. In this way, the system 100 is able to identify the distributor who distributes the plurality of batches of takeaway boxes 200.
[0031] After the takeaway boxes 200 have been distributed, the system 100 receives and processes all the data and is able to generate a distributed quantity of the takeaway boxes 200 based on the quantity of takeaway boxes 200 distributed and the locations where the takeaway boxes 200 are received. In addition, the system 100 is able to provide the date and / or time that the takeaway boxes 200 are received. In this way, the advertiser is able to monitor the distribution of the advertisement accurately by the quantity and location of takeaway boxes 200 used. Advertiser may also monitor the date and / or time that the takeaway boxes 200 arereceived and identify key events and trends in the distribution, c.g. days and / or time of highest demands, location with the highest demand. Hence, the advertiser is able to know whether the advertisement reaches the target audience. Further, the advertiser is able to identify the reach and effectiveness of the advertisement based on the quantity of boxes received and therefore used.
[0032] After a period of data collection, the system 100 is able to generate reports, e.g. trends, of the usage of the takeaway boxes 200 by the food outlets. Based on the frequency of despatches of the takeaway boxes 200 to the food outlets, the system 100 is able to predict the usage of the takeaway boxes 200 by the food outlets. System 100 is able to notify the distributor to despatch a batch of takeaway boxes 200 to a food outlet when the system 100 identifies the date and / or time that the food outlet is about to request for a new batch of takeaway boxes 200. System 100 may include an artificial intelligence (Al) module to learn the data and identify the date and / or time.
