Abstract

The present application provides a fault detection system for a weighing device, including a weighing device and a signal acquisition circuit. The signal acquisition circuit includes an analog-to-digital converter, a power supply, and a controller. At least one strain sensor is connected to the signal acquisition circuit via a number of cables. The at least one strain sensor is configured to be connected to the power supply via a positive excitation wire, to ground via a negative excitation wire, to an input terminal of the analog-to-digital converter via a signal wire, and to a reference terminal of the analog-to-digital converter via a feedback wire. A power supply terminal of the analog-to-digital converter is connected to the power supply. A first diode is provided between the strain sensor and the power supply, and the first diode is used to step down an output voltage of the power supply, so that a voltage of the positive excitation wire is less than a voltage of the power supply terminal of the analog-to-digital converter. The controller is configured to determine a fault of the weighing device based on a positive excitation voltage of the positive excitation wire, a positive excitation current of the positive excitation wire, and a feedback wire voltage of the feedback wire.

Description

FAULT DETECTION SYSTEM AND FAULT DETECTION METHOD FOR WEIGHING DEVICETechnical Field

[0001] The present application mainly relates to the technical field of diagnosis and detection of instruments and devices, and in particular to a fault detection system and a fault detection method for a weighing device. Background Art

[0002] Industrial electronic scales or weighing systems usually include a plurality of load cells, each of which transmits weighing data to a terminal, and the terminal is used to receive, process, and display the weighing data. During the operation of a weighing system, the weighing system or the terminal will perform some common fault diagnoses on the sensors, such as determining whether an open circuit or a short circuit or other simple faults occur in the sensors. A user may view the weighing data and diagnostic data on the terminal. However, the current diagnosis method is relatively simple and can only determine whether an open circuit or short circuit occurs. For complex weighing systems, such as weighing systems that include a plurality of load cells or use strain sensors, it is impossible to specifically determine which sensor has encountered a fault, and which wire or strain gauge in the strain sensor has encountered a fault, which is not conducive to accurately locating the specific fault. If specific fault information can be diagnosed and located, it will help on-site technicians to determine the type of the fault more accurately, find a handling method more quickly, and fix the fault in a timely manner.Summary of the Invention

[0012] In order to solve the above technical problem, the present application further provides a fault detection method for a weighing device, applied to the foregoing fault detection system, the method including: obtaining a positive excitation voltage and a positive excitation current of a positive excitation wire of the at least one strain sensor, and obtaining a feedback wire voltage of a feedback wire of the at least one strain sensor; and determining a fault of the weighing device based on the positive excitation voltage, the positive excitation current, and the feedback wire voltage, where the fault includes a cable fault and a strain gauge fault.

[0013] In one embodiment of the present application, the positive excitation voltage is equal to a supply voltage VDDA of the analog-to-digital converter minus a forward voltage drop of the first diode.

[0014] In one embodiment of the present application, the step of determining a fault of the strain sensor based on the positive excitation voltage, the positive excitation current, and the feedback wire voltage includes: obtaining a flag bit NOREF of the analog-to-digital converter, where the flag bit NOREF is related to a voltage difference between a positive feedback wire and a negative feedback wire; and determining that the positive excitation wire is short-circuited to the negative excitation wire or the negative feedback wire, when the positive excitation voltage is abnormal; determining that the positive excitation wire is open-circuited, when the positive excitation voltage is normal, the positive excitation current is 0, and the flag bit NOREF is abnormal; or determining that the positive feedback wire or the negative feedback wire is open-circuited or that the positive feedback wire is short-circuited to the negative feedback wire or the negative excitation wire, when the positive excitation voltage is normal, the positive excitation current reaches a current limit value, and the flag bit NOREF is abnormal.

[0015] In one embodiment of the present application, the fault detection method further includes: obtaining a positive signal wire voltage of a positive signal wire and a negative signal wire voltage of a negative signal wire separately when the analog-to-digital converter is in a single-ended input mode; obtaining a differential voltage between the positive signal wire and the negative signal wire when the analog-to-digital converter is in a differential input mode; and determining a fault of the strain sensor based on the positive excitation voltage, the positive excitation current, the feedback wire voltage, the positive signal wire voltage, the negative signal wire voltage, and the differential voltage.

[0016] In one embodiment of the present application, the step of determining a fault of the weighing device based on the positive excitation voltage, the positive excitation current, the feedback wire voltage, the positive signal wire voltage, the negative signal wire voltage, and the differential voltage includes: determining that the positive feedback wire is short-circuited to the positive signal wire or the negative signal wire, when the positive excitation voltage and the flag bit NOREF are both normal, and when the positive signal wire voltage and the negative signal wire voltage are both at full load, and the differential voltage is at no load; or determining that the negative feedback wire is short-circuited to the positive signal wire or the negative signal wire, when the positive excitation voltage and the flag bit NOREF are both normal, and when the positive signal wire voltage, the negative signal wire voltage, and the differential voltage are all at no load.

[0017] In one embodiment of the present application, the at least one strain sensor includes four bridged strain gauges, and the step of determining a fault of the weighing device based on the positive excitation voltage, the positive excitation current, the feedback wire voltage, the positive signal wire voltage, the negative signal wire voltage, and the differential voltage includes: determining which strain gauge is disconnected or shorted based on the positive excitation current, the positive signal wire voltage, the negative signal wire voltage, and the differential voltage, when the positive excitation voltage and the flag bit NOREF are both normal.

[0020] According to the fault detection system and method of the present application, the first diode is provided between the strain sensor and the power supply to reduce the positive excitation voltage of the strain sensor relative to the power voltage, so that an actual excitation voltage range applied to the strain sensor is lower than the supply voltage of the analog-to-digital converter. In this way, when the excitation wire and the signal wire are short-circuited, the analog-to-digital converter can still acquire a signal on the signal wire, facilitating continuous signal acquisition and fault diagnosis. According to the fault detection system and method of the present application, during a fault diagnosis process, information in different states, including the positive signal wire voltage and the negative signal wire voltage and the differential voltage therebetween, can be acquired by separately setting the input terminal of the analog-to-digital converter to be in the single-ended input mode and the differential input mode, thereby allowing a plurality of different types of faults to be jointly determined based on a plurality of signals, which facilitates rapid and accurate fault location.Brief Description of the Drawings

[0021] The accompanying drawings are included to provide a further understanding of the present application and are incorporated in and constitute a part of the present application, show the embodiments of the present application, and serve to, together with this specification, explain the principles of the present application. In the accompanying drawings:

[0032] In FIG. 1, the power supply 122 is electrically connected to the first diode D1, the analog-to-digital converter 121, and the controller 130, and the power supply 122 is used to provide the voltage Vs to other modules. A positive electrode of the first diode D1 is close to the power supply 122, and a negative electrode is close to the strain sensor 111. The power supply terminal VDDA of the analog-to-digital converter 121 is connected to the power supply 122 and is also connected to the positive electrode of the first diode D1. The first diode D1 can provide a stable forward voltage drop to reduce the output voltage of the power supply 122. In some embodiments, the first diode D1 is a Schottky diode. Assuming that the forward voltage drop of the first diode D1 is Vf1 and the output voltage of the power supply 122 is Vs, then Vs ≈ VEXC+ + Vf1. The range of Vf1 may be 300 mV ≤ Vf1 < 1 V, and a specific value thereof is related to characteristics of the selected analog-to-digital converter 121, for example, may be 500 mV. Further, VDDA = Vs ≈ VEXC+ + Vf1. That is, the first diode D1 is provided such that VEXC+ is lower than VDDA by Vf1.

[0033] Generally, the analog-to-digital converter 121 requires that an input voltage at the input terminal AIN should be less than VDDA. If the first diode D1 is not provided in the weighing system 100, that is, VDDA =VEXC+, when the signal wire SIG and the positive excitation wire EXC+are short-circuited, VSIG = VDDA. In this case, the input voltage at the input terminal AIN of the analog-to-digital converter 121 is equal to VDDA, which will cause the analog-to-digital converter 121 to be unable to normally acquire a signal on the signal wire SIG.

[0034] According to the weighing system 100 of the present application, the first diode D1 is provided such that when the signal wire SIG and the positive excitation wire EXC+ are short-circuited, VSIG = VEXC+ = VDDA -Vf, and the magnitude of Vf is selected such that the input voltage at the input terminal AIN of the analog-to-digital converter 121 meets an input voltage requirement, so that the analog-to-digital converter 121 can normally acquire the signal on the signal wire SIG.

[0035] Embodiment 1 does not limit how to obtain the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ and the positive excitation current IEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+, and the feedback wire voltage VSEN of the feedback wire. Detection apparatuses such as a voltmeter and an ammeter may be provided at corresponding nodes in the circuit, or electrically connected to corresponding nodes, so as to obtain the required voltage and current values.

[0036] In some embodiments, the feedback wire voltage VSEN of the feedback wire is a difference between the positive feedback wire voltage and the negative feedback wire voltage, i.e., VSEN = VSEN+ -VSEN-.

[0037] In the weighing system 100, the first diode D1 is provided such that when the signal wire SIG and the positive excitation wire EXC+ are short-circuited, the analog-to-digital converter 121 can still normally acquire the signal on the signal wire SIG. Further, a detailed diagnosis of a specific fault of the strain sensor 111 may be made in conjunction with the positive excitation voltage VEXC+, the positive excitation current IEXC+, and the feedback wire voltage VSEN of the feedback wire.

[0038] FIG. 2 is a system block diagram of a fault detection system 200 according to Embodiment 2 of the present application. Compared with Embodiment 1, Embodiment 2 also includes a weighing device 210 and a signal acquisition circuit 220, but the specific structures of the two are slightly different, and therefore different reference numerals are used. Referring to FIG. 2, Embodiment 2, based on Embodiment 1, further comprises a voltage detection unit V and a current detection unit A, both of which are provided between a first diode D1 and a positive excitation wire EXC+. Specifically, one end of the voltage detection unit V is connected to the positive excitation wire EXC+, and the other end is grounded; one end of the current detection unit A is connected to the positive excitation wire EXC+, and the other end is connected to a negative electrode of the first diode D1. The voltage detection unit V is used to detect a positive excitation voltage VEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+ and send the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ to a controller 230. The current detection unit A is used to detect a positive excitation current IEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+ and send the positive excitation current IEXC+ to the controller 230. The positive excitation voltage VEXC+ and the positive excitation current IEXC+ respectively represent an excitation voltage and an excitation current actually provided to a strain sensor 211. It can be understood that the excitation voltage, after being stepped down by the first diode D1, is less than an output voltage of a power supply 222 and VDDA of an analog-to-digital converter 221.

[0039] Specifically, the voltage detection unit V may be a voltmeter, and the current detection unit A may be an ammeter.

[0040] Referring to FIG. 2, in an embodiment of the present application, a second diode D2 is further included and provided between a negative excitation wire EXC-and internal ground GND. The second diode D2 is used to step up a voltage of the negative excitation wire EXC-, which is similar to the function of the first diode D1. As shown in FIG. 2, a positive electrode of the second diode D2 is connected to the negative excitation wire EXC-, and a negative electrode is connected to the internal ground GND. Assuming that a forward voltage drop of the second diode D2 is Vf2, VEXC-≈ GND + Vf2. In this way, when a signal wire SIG is shorted to the negative excitation wire EXC-, VSIG± ≈ GND + Vf2, instead of 0 V, such that an input voltage at an input terminal AIN of the analog-to-digital converter 121 meets an input voltage requirement, so that the analog-to-digital converter 121 can normally acquire a signal on the signal wire SIG.

[0041] In some embodiments, the second diode D2 is a Schottky diode. Vf1 and Vf2 may be equal, for example, both are 500 mV; or they may be different.

[0042] It should be noted that due to the presence of D1 and D2, there should be the following relationships: VEXC+ = VS -VD1 = VS -Vf1, and VEXC-=GND + VD2 = 0 + Vf2 = Vf2.

[0043] Referring to FIG. 2, the weighing device in Embodiment 2 includes a strain sensor 211, which includes four bridged strain gauges RB1 to RB4 to form a Wheatstone bridge. The positive excitation wire EXC+ and a positive feedback wire SEN+ are both connected between RB1 and RB2, which is equivalent to the two being shorted at this end, and the other end of the positive feedback wire SEN+ is connected to a positive reference terminal REF+ of the analog-to-digital converter 221. The negative excitation wire EXC-and a negative feedback wire SEN-are both connected between RB3 and RB4, which is equivalent to the two being shorted at this end, and the other end of the negative feedback wire SEN-is connected to a negative reference terminal REF-of the analog-to-digital converter 211. One end of a positive signal wire SIG+ is connected between RB1 and RB3, and one end of a negative signal wire SIG-is connected between RB2 and RB4.

[0044] Referring to FIG. 2, in this embodiment, the analog-to-digital converter 211 is configured to: set a flag bit NOREF of the analog-to-digital converter 221 to a preset bit when a voltage difference (VREF+ -VREF-) between the positive reference terminal REF+ and the negative reference terminal REF-exceeds a preset value. The controller 230 is configured to: obtain the flag bit NOREF. In these embodiments, an ADC chip of the analog-to-digital converter 221 has an internal register, and the internal register has a NOREF register flag bit. When the difference between VREF+ and VREF-exceeds the preset value that is set, the ADC chip will automatically set the flag bit NOREF. For example, when VREF+ -VREF-< 0.1 V, NOREF = 1, indicating that a fault occurs in the ADC chip; and when VREF+ -VREF-> 0.1 V, for example, VREF+ -VREF-= 5 V, then NOREF = 0, indicating no fault. According to these embodiments, the voltage difference VREF+ -VREF-reflects the feedback wire voltage VSEN= VSEN+ -VSEN-, that is, NOREF may reflect the magnitude of the feedback wire voltage VSEN.

[0045] In some embodiments, the analog-to-digital converter 221 is a chip such as AD7190, AD7194, AD7195, etc., all of which have the function of setting the flag bit NOREF based on the voltage difference between the positive reference terminal REF+ and the negative reference terminal REF-.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 2, in Embodiment 2, in addition to obtaining the positive excitation voltage VEXC+, the positive excitation current IEXC+, and the feedback wire voltage VSEN of the feedback wire, the controller 230 may further indirectly obtain a voltage VSIG+ of the positive signal wire SIG+, a voltage VSIG-of the negative signal wire SIG-, and a differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-between the positive and negative signal wires SIG+ and SIG-through the analog-to-digital converter 211.

[0047] In some embodiments, the input terminal AIN of the analog-to-digital converter 221 of the present application may be set to be in a single-ended input mode or a differential input mode. In some embodiments, the controller 230 is an MCU, which may be programmed by software to allow the controller 230 to send a command to the analog-to-digital converter 221 to set the input mode of the input terminal AIN thereof. The chip of the analog-to-digital converter 221 may have two independent current sources inside, each of which outputs a current from AIN+ and inputs a current from AIN-, and the output current at AIN+ is equal to the input current at AIN-. The output current of the two independent current sources is, for example, 500 nA.

[0048] Referring to FIG. 2, in order to obtain the voltage VSIG+ of the positive signal wire SIG+, the analog-to-digital converter 221 may be configured to be in the single-ended input mode, in which case reference ground AINCOM should be connected to ground GND. The analog-to-digital converter 221 has a configurable programmable gain amplifier PGA inside. In the single-ended input mode, the positive signal wire SIG+ is connected to the positive input terminal AIN+ of the analog-to-digital converter 221, and an amplification factor of the programmable gain amplifier of the analog-to-digital converter 221 is set to 1. The controller 230 is configured to: obtain the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+ of the positive signal wire SIG+ based on a signal to the positive input terminal AIN+, and determine a fault of the weighing device in conjunction with the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+. In this embodiment, in the single-ended input mode, the amplification factor of the programmable gain amplifier is set to 1, so that the analog-to-digital converter 221 can accurately acquire the voltage on the positive signal wire SIG+. When the positive signal wire SIG+ is open-circuited, that is, the AIN+ pin is suspended, the voltage on the AIN+ input pin is the supply voltage VDDA (ideally infinite) . In this case, an internal error flag bit ERR of the analog-to-digital converter 221, such as AD7190, should report an error, and the controller 230 may obtain the error information and combine the error information with the obtained signal including the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+ for fault diagnosis.

[0049] In order to obtain the voltage VSIG-of the negative signal wire SIG-, the analog-to-digital converter 221 may be configured to be in the single-ended input mode, and the amplification factor of the programmable gain amplifier of the analog-to-digital converter 221 may be set to 1 to detect the voltage of the negative signal wire SIG-. When the negative signal wire SIG-is open-circuited, that is, the AIN-pin is suspended, the voltage on the AIN-input pin is the supply voltage VDDA (ideally infinite) . In this case, the internal error flag bit ERR of the analog-to-digital converter 221, such as AD7190, should report an error, and the controller 230 may obtain the error information and use the error information for fault diagnosis.

[0050] In order to obtain the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-between the positive and negative signal wires SIG+ and SIG-, the analog-to-digital converter 221 may be configured to be in the differential input mode, and the amplification factor of the programmable gain amplifier of the analog-to-digital converter 221 may be set to a preset value not equal to 1, for example, set to 128. The controller 230 may be configured to: obtain the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-between the positive signal wire SIG+and the negative signal wire SIG-, and determine a fault of the strain sensor in conjunction with the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-. It should be noted that during normal use of the weighing system 200, the input mode of the analog-to-digital converter 221 is the differential input mode.

[0051] According to the embodiment shown in Embodiment 2, the controller 230 may directly or indirectly obtain at least the following seven signals: the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+, the negative excitation voltage VEXC-of the negative excitation wire EXC-, the positive excitation current IEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+, the feedback wire voltage VSEN = VSEN+ -VSEN-of the feedback wire SEN, the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+, the negative signal wire voltage VSIG-, and the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-between the positive and negative signal wires SIG+ and SIG-.

[0052] The fault detection systems 100 and 200 may detect at least the faults listed in the following Table 1 based on the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+, the positive excitation current IEXC+ of the positive excitation wire EXC+, and the feedback wire voltage VSEN =VSEN+ -VSEN-of the feedback wire SEN: Table 1:

[0053] Table 1 shows three types of faults, all of which are related to the short circuit or open circuit of the cable. These three types of faults may be determined based on VEXC+, IEXC+, and VSEN+ -VSEN-obtained by the controller.

[0054] Further, Table 2 lists results of fault diagnosis based on all the six signals mentioned above: Table 2:

[0055] As shown in Table 2, 17 types of faults may be detected based on the six types of signals. Counting the three types of faults in Table 1, the fault detection system of the present application may be used detect 20 types of faults, and can specifically locate which cable is open-circuited or which cable is short-circuited, and which strain gauge is disconnected or shorted, providing high-precision diagnostic results, which facilitate on-site technicians to quickly locate and fix faults.

[0056] It should be noted that in Table 2, the fault types shown in rows 1 to 9 below the title row are cable faults, and the fault types shown in rows 10 to 17 are strain gauge faults. The strain gauge faults are used for the strain sensor 211 including four strain gauges RB1 to RB4 as shown in FIG. 2. Table 1 and Table 2 are only examples. For other types of strain sensors 211, corresponding Table 1 and Table 2 may be obtained according to settings and measurements.

[0057] In addition, in row 6 below the title row of Table 2, when SIG+ is short-circuited to SIG-, the VSIG+ and VSIG-readings will change normally regardless of whether the weighing platform is loaded or not, but VSIG+ -VSIG-will always remain in the no-load 0x0800 state. In Table 1 and Table 2, for the weighing system, normal, half load, no load, forward full load, and reverse full load all indicate a current status of the weighing system. In the forward full load state, the input differential signal SIG+ -SIG-is a positive value and its absolute value exceeds a maximum allowable value input to the analog-to-digital converter 221, and the limit of the maximum allowable value is VDDA /  (2 *programmable gain amplifier amplification factor) . In this case, a number acquired by the acquisition system is 0x0FFF. In the reverse full load state, the input differential signal SIG -SIG-is a negative value and its absolute value exceeds the maximum allowable value input to the analog-to-digital converter 221. In this case, the number acquired by the acquisition system is 0x0000. Generally, in normal operation of a fixed weighing system, only forward loading occurs, that is, the strain gauge is subjected to a positive pressure, SIG+ > SIG-. However, in some abnormal cases, for example, when a weighing pan is dragged, reverse loading may occur, that is, the strain gauge is subjected to a negative pressure, SIG+ < SIG-.

[0058] Further, in order to perform fault detection, the three types of signals in Table 1 may be obtained first, and then the other three signals in Table 2 may be obtained. The present application does not limit the order of obtaining signals. Preferably, the fault detection system of the present application may be used to detect corresponding signals in the following order, which provides good operability and timeliness:

[0059] (VEXC+) ≥ (IEXC+) > (VSEN+ -VSEN-) > (VSIG+) ≥ (VSIG-) > (VSIG+ -VSIG-)

[0060] Referring to FIG. 3, the present application further provides a fault detection method for a weighing device, which may be performed by the fault detection system as described above. Specifically, the fault detection method 300 includes the following steps:

[0061] Step S310: Obtain a positive excitation voltage VEXC+ and a positive excitation current IEXC+ of a positive excitation wire of at least one strain sensor, and obtain a feedback wire voltage VSEN of a feedback wire of the at least one strain sensor.

[0062] Step S320: Determine a fault of the weighing device based on the positive excitation voltage VEXC+, the positive excitation current IEXC+, and the feedback wire voltage VSEN, where the fault includes a cable fault and a strain gauge fault.

[0063] It should be noted that the related description content of the fault detection systems 100 and 200 above may all be used to illustrate the fault detection method 300, and the same content will not be repeated herein.

[0064] In step S310, the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ is equal to a supply voltage VDDA of the analog-to-digital converter minus a first voltage drop Vf1, where the first voltage drop Vf1 is a forward voltage drop of a first diode D1. As shown in Table 1 and Table 2, taking the first voltage drop Vf1 = 500 mV and VDDA = 5 V as an example, the value of VEXC+is mainly 4.5 V. When EXC+ is short-circuited to SEN- / EXC-, VEXC+ ≈0.5 V. In this case, the fault of EXC+ short-circuited to SEN- / EXC-may be determined based on VEXC+ ≈ 0.5 V alone. The following description is given by taking Vf1 = Vf2 = 500 mV and VDDA = 5 V as an example.

[0065] According to Table 1 and Table 2, some methods may be used to locate specific faults.

[0066] For example, in some embodiments, step S320 includes:

[0067] Step S321: Obtain a flag bit NOREF of the analog-to-digital converter, where the flag bit NOREF is related to a voltage difference VSEN+ -VSEN-between a positive feedback wire and a negative feedback wire.

[0068] Step S322: Determine that the positive excitation wire EXC+ is short-circuited to the negative excitation wire EXC-or the negative feedback wire SEN-, when the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ is abnormal.

[0069] The abnormal here may be that VEXC+ is less than a first preset value, for example, the first preset value is a value less than 4.5 V, such as 4 V. As shown in row 2 below the title row in Table 1, EXC+ is short-circuited to SEN- / EXC-, which shows that VEXC+ ≈ 0.5 V. In this case, VEXC+ is abnormal.

[0070] Step S323: As shown in row 1 below the title row of Table 1, determine that the positive excitation wire EXC+ is open-circuited, when the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ is normal, the positive excitation current is 0, and the flag bit NOREF is abnormal, that is, NOREF = 1. The normal here may be that VEXC+ is greater than the first preset value, for example, VEXC+ = 4.5 V, which is normal.

[0071] Step S324: As shown in row 3 below the title row of Table 1, determine that the positive feedback wire SEN+ or the negative feedback wire SEN-is open-circuited or that the positive feedback wire SEN+ is short-circuited to the negative feedback wire SEN-or the negative excitation wire EXC-, when the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ is normal, the positive excitation current IEXC+ reaches a current limit value of 100 mA, and the flag bit NOREF is abnormal.

[0072] In some embodiments, the fault detection method 300 further includes:

[0073] Step S330: Obtain a positive signal wire voltage VSIG+ of a positive signal wire SIG+ and a negative signal wire voltage VSIG-of a negative signal wire SIG-separately when the analog-to-digital converter is in a single-ended input mode.

[0074] Step S331: Obtain a differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-between the positive signal wire SIG+ and the negative signal wire SIG-when the analog-to-digital converter is in a differential input mode.

[0075] Step S332: Determine a fault of the strain sensor based on the positive excitation voltage VEXC+, the positive excitation current IEXC+, the feedback wire voltage VSEN, the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+, the negative signal wire voltage VSIG-, and the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-. These faults correspond to all the faults in Table 2, that is, the faults are jointly determined based on the six types of signals.

[0076] Further, Step S332 includes the following steps:

[0077] Step S3321: As shown in row 3 below the title row of Table 2, determine that the positive feedback wire SEN+ is short-circuited to the positive signal wire SIG+ or the negative signal wire SIG-, when the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ and the flag bit NOREF are both normal, and when the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+ and the negative signal wire voltage VSIG-are both at full load, and the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-is at no load.

[0078] Step S3322: Determine that the negative feedback wire SEN-is short-circuited to the positive signal wire SIG+ or the negative signal wire SIG-, when the positive excitation voltage VEXC+ and the flag bit NOREF are both normal, and when the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+, the negative signal wire voltage VSIG-, and the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-are all at no load.

[0079] In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the strain sensor 211 includes four bridged strain gauges, and step S332 includes the following steps:

[0080] Step S3323: Determine which strain gauge is disconnected or shorted based on the positive excitation current IEXC+, the positive signal wire voltage VSIG+, the negative signal wire voltage VSIG-, and the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-, when the positive excitation voltage and the flag bit NOREF are both normal. This step corresponds to rows 10 to 17 below the title row of Table 2, which are all about the fault diagnosis of the strain gauge being disconnected or shorted.

[0081] Specifically, when a fault occurs in a strain gauge, the differential voltage VSIG+ -VSIG-is at forward full load or reverse full load.

[0082] Referring to Table 2, when a fault occurs in a cable, the positive excitation current IEXC+ has a first measurement value; when a fault occurs in a strain gauge, the positive excitation current IEXC+ has a second measurement value, where the first measurement value is different from the second measurement value. In Table 3, rows 1 to 9 below the title row all indicate cable faults, in which most of the IEXC+ values are 11 mA; in rows 10 to 17, when a fault occurs in a strain gauge, the IEXC+ value is 6 mA or 17 mA, which is obviously different from the cable fault. Therefore, the value of IEXC+ may be used to quickly determine whether the fault type is a cable fault or a strain gauge fault.

[0083] This fault detection method does not exhaustively list all fault diagnosis methods in Table 1 and Table 2. In other embodiments, the controller may query a specific fault type directly from Table 1 and Table 2 based on an obtained signal by using a table lookup method, so as to quickly locate a fault.

[0084] The basic concepts have been described above. Obviously, for those skilled in the art, the above disclosure of the present application is merely used as an example and does not constitute a limitation on the present application. Those skilled in the art may make various modifications, improvements, and amendments to the present application, although it is not explicitly stated here. Such modifications, improvements, and amendments are suggested in the present application, and therefore, such modifications, improvements, and amendments still fall within the spirit and scope of exemplary embodiments of the present application.

[0085] Also, the present application uses specific words to describe the embodiments of the present application. For example, ″one embodiment″ , ″an embodiment″ , and / or ″some embodiments″ mean a feature, structure, or characteristic associated with at least one embodiment of the present application. Therefore, it should be emphasized and noted that two or more references to ″an embodiment″ , ″one embodiment″ , or ″an alternative embodiment″ in various places in this specification do not necessarily indicate the same embodiment. In addition, some features, structures, or characteristics in one or more embodiments of the present application may be combined appropriately.

[0086] Similarly, it should be noted that, in order to simplify the expressions disclosed in the present application to facilitate the understanding of one or more embodiments of the present invention, in the foregoing description of the embodiments of the present application, various features may be sometimes incorporated into one embodiment, figure or the description thereof. However, such a method disclosed does not mean that the subject of the present application requires more features than those mentioned. In fact, the features of the embodiments are fewer than all the features of a single embodiment disclosed above.

[0087] In some embodiments, numbers for describing the number of compositions and attributes are used. It should be understood that such numbers used in the description of the embodiments are modified by the modifier ″about″ , ″approximately″ , or ″substantially″ in some examples. Unless otherwise stated, ″about″ , ″approximately″ , or ″substantially″ indicates that the number is allowed to vary by ± 20%. Correspondingly, in some embodiments, the numerical parameters used in the present application are approximate values, and the approximate values can vary with the features needed by individual embodiments. In some embodiments, for the numerical parameters, the specified significant digits should be taken into consideration, and a general digit reservation method should be used. Although the numerical ranges and parameters used to confirm the breadth of the ranges of the numerical parameters in some embodiments of the present application are approximate values, such numerical values need to be set as precisely as possible within a feasible range in specific embodiments.
