Description

[0001] REPELLENT DEVICE

[0002] FIELD OF TECHNICAL INVENTION

[0003] [1] The invention relates to a repelling device, namely to a repelling device for animals, which also provides the possibility of training animals.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] [2] There are many different devices for repelling and / or training wild and domestic animals, encouraging or accustoming animals to perform certain actions and acting upon direct contact with the animal's body, such as rods, sticks, whips, lashes, rods, and whips.

[0006] [3] A whip for animals is known (GB2220123 A, B68B 11 / 00, published 04.01.1990), in particular a riding crop, designed to apply force to a tired or resisting horse and reduce the depth of the remaining wounds compared to known whips. The whip has a handle and a contact end, designed to contact the animal and is a leather tongue or loop.

[0007] [4] The disadvantage of this whip is that its use causes physical pain and suffering to the animal, and also leaves scars on the animal's body.

[0008] [5] A repellent device for animals, in particular dogs, is known, used by runners (US4533140 A, A64B 59 / 00, published

[0009] 1

[0010] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) 06.08.1985), containing a handle and a tip for striking an attacking animal.

[0011] [6] The disadvantage of this repelling device is that its use causes physical pain and suffering to the animal.

[0012] [7] It is worth noting that causing pain and suffering to an animal through violent physical contact with such devices can also provoke vindictiveness in an animal, for example in domestic dogs or livestock, which can lead to negative consequences.

[0013] ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION

[0014] [8] The technical problem solved by the creation of the claimed invention consists of the need to create a repelling device that provides an influence on the behavior or actions of an animal upon physical contact between the repelling device and the animal, but which at the same time minimizes or eliminates physical pain and suffering in the animal.

[0015] [9] The said technical problem is solved by the present invention, characterized in the claims, namely by a repelling device comprising a contact element for contact with the body of an animal and a handle connected to the contact element, wherein the contact element comprises two stiffening plates spaced apart from each other, designed with the possibility of providing a sound signal by means of the interaction of their inner sides facing each other upon contact of the contact element with the body of the animal, and

[0016] 2

[0017] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) shock-absorbing material attached to the outer sides of two stiffening plates. In an alternative embodiment, the repelling device also comprises a sound device for creating a sound signal, the contact element comprises a stiffening plate and shock-absorbing material attached to the stiffening plate, and the handle is connected to the contact element by means of said stiffening plate and a hinge and comprises a button for activating said sound device.

[0018]

[0010] The technical result, which the present invention is aimed at achieving, consists in minimizing or eliminating physical damage to animals upon contact of the repelling device with the animal's body. The concept of physical damage includes physical pain and suffering. The claimed repelling device, containing plates providing a sound signal or a sound device and a shock-absorbing material, allows to minimize or eliminate physical damage to an animal upon contact of the repelling device with the animal's body, due to which the provocation of vindictiveness in an animal when using the repelling device is also minimized or eliminated, while ensuring the possibility of effective repelling, which in turn also allows to ensure effective motivation or accustoming of animals to perform any actions, including effective training.

[0019]

[0011] In an embodiment of the invention, in the case of the second alternative, the sound signal is an ultrasonic signal. The use of an ultrasonic signal makes it possible to provide

[0020] 3

[0021] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) impact on animals, in particular a repelling effect, but the user and / or surrounding people do not hear it.

[0022]

[0012] In another embodiment of the invention, in the case of the second alternative, the sound device comprises a speaker. The presence of the speaker also provides the possibility of using a different frequency range of the sound signal.

[0023]

[0013] In another embodiment of the invention, in the case of the second alternative, the handle comprises a spring. The presence of the spring allows the repelling device to be returned to its original working configuration.

[0024]

[0014] The present invention is explained by specific examples of implementation, which, however, are not the only possible ones, but clearly demonstrate the possibility of achieving the required technical result.

[0025] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0026]

[0015] The present invention is illustrated by the figures, in which: Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of a repelling device, Fig. 2 shows a schematic view of a repelling device in an alternative embodiment.

[0027]

[0016] The shape and dimensions of the elements of the repelling device shown in the figures are conventional and are shown in such a way as to most clearly illustrate the relative position of these elements and their cause-and-effect relationship with the declared technical

[0028] 4

[0029] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) result. In the following description, similar or corresponding elements have similar or corresponding reference designations.

[0030] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0031]

[0017] As shown in Fig. 1, the repelling device comprises a contact element 1 and a handle 2 connected thereto. The contact element 1 is intended for direct contact of the repelling device with the body of the animal. In one embodiment, the handle 2 is designed in such a way as to ensure the possibility of holding it by the user's hand to control the repelling device. In this embodiment, the repelling device is a manual repelling device. In this case, the possibility of manually controlling the repelling device is ensured, allowing the user, together with the repelling device, to be the subject of repelling and, if necessary, of training. In addition, due to the fact that between the animal's body and the handle that the user grasps there is a space provided by at least the contact element, safety is ensured for the user's hand when in contact with the animal's body in the event of an aggressive reaction by the animal. In another embodiment, the handle 2 is made in such a way as to ensure its holding by a stationary element, for example, an interior or exterior element of a building, an outdoor structure, a pen, etc. Various.

[0032] 5

[0033] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) handle configurations 2 can provide the repelling device with portability, for example, it can be telescopic.

[0034]

[0018] The contact element 1 comprises two stiffening plates 3 spaced apart from each other, connected to the handle 2. The material, size and / or profile of the stiffening plates 3 and / or the method of their connection to the handle 2 are selected in such a way as to ensure the rigidity of the structure of the contact element 1 and at the same time to ensure the possibility of their contact with each other to provide an audible signal by their movement in the direction towards each other or one towards the other, shown by the arrows in Fig. 1. The material of the stiffening plates 3 can be, for example, metal, plastic or wood. Preferably, the stiffening plate 3 is a thin metal sheet having sufficient rigidity, flexibility and elasticity to ensure rigidity of the contact element and the possibility of contact of the stiffening plates 3 with each other and subsequent return to the original working configuration. The stiffening plate 3 is connected to the handle directly or by means of a connecting mechanism that allows rotation, such as a hinge mechanism. A spring can be used to return to the initial working configuration. The initial working configuration is understood to mean the arrangement of the stiffening plates 3 parallel or almost parallel to the handle 2.

[0035]

[0019] When the contact element 1 touches the animal's body, the inner sides 4 of the rigidity plates 3 facing each other interact, causing a sound signal to be emitted that repels the animal. The concept of the inner side 4 of the rigidity plate 3 includes both the inner surface or edge of the plate 3

[0036] 6

[0037] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) of rigidity, as well as the rib corresponding to this lateral internal surface or edge. By selecting different material of the rigidity plates 3, their size and profile, it is possible to select the frequency range of the generated sound signal, which can vary within the same repelling device, for example, by using different material in different areas of the rigidity plate and, accordingly, the interaction of the rigidity plates in these different areas when used in order not to create habituation in the animal to a certain frequency of the sound signal. The volume or frequency of the sound signal can also be controlled, for example, by changing the force applied when the contact element contacts the animal's body.Accordingly, in the embodiment in which the handle is held by the said stationary element, the parameters of the generated sound signal can vary depending on the magnitude and, for example, the direction of the force generated by the body of the animal touching the contact element 1.

[0038]

[0020] To the outer sides 5 of the stiffening plates 3, for example by means of glue, a shock-absorbing material 6 is attached, intended to absorb the impact upon contact with the body of the animal, minimizing or eliminating physical damage to the animal. In Fig. 1, an embodiment is shown in which the shock-absorbing material 6 is attached to the outer surface or edge of the stiffening plate 3 opposite the above-mentioned inner side 4, however, in other embodiments, the shock-absorbing material 6 can be attached to all outer sides of the stiffening plate 3, such as the upper side

[0039] 7

[0040] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) or the end and sides or edges, to exclude the possibility of contact of the animal's body with the stiffening plate 3. The shock-absorbing material 6 is a material suitable for ensuring the possibility of minimizing or eliminating physical damage to the animal, for example, foamed polypropylene, foamed polyethylene, foamed polyurethane, foamed rubber, etc. The shock-absorbing material 6 can be made in such a way that in the initial working configuration of the repelling device, it prevents the stiffening plate 3 from moving outward from each other due to the stop in the handle, in order to maintain the initial working configuration of the repelling device. In another embodiment, protruding locking elements can be provided to prevent the stiffening plate 3 from moving outward.

[0041]

[0021] By creating an audible signal that provides a deterrent effect when the deterrent device comes into contact with the body of an animal, the need for violent physical contact that causes physical harm to the animal for deterrence is minimized or eliminated.

[0042]

[0022] In addition to the fact that the shock-absorbing material 6 provides the possibility of minimizing or eliminating physical damage to the animal, the very contact of the repelling device with the animal's body provides a repelling effect, which, in combination with the generated sound signal, forms a synergistic effect.

[0043]

[0023] In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the handle 2 has a handle extension 7. The handle extension 7 can have various

[0044] 8

[0045] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) dimensions depending on the dimensions of the contact element 1. In other embodiments, the extension 7 of the handle may be absent.

[0046]

[0024] As shown in Fig. 2, in an alternative embodiment, the repelling device comprises a contact element 1 and a handle 2 connected thereto. The contact element 1 is intended for direct contact of the repelling device with the body of the animal. In one embodiment, the handle 2 is designed in such a way as to ensure the possibility of holding it by the user's hand to control the repelling device. In this embodiment, the repelling device is a manual repelling device. In this case, the possibility of manually controlling the repelling device is provided, allowing the user, together with the repelling device, to be the subject of repelling and, if necessary, of training. In addition, due to the fact that between the animal's body and the handle, which the user grasps, there is a space provided by at least the contact element, safety is ensured for the user's hand when in contact with the animal's body in the event of an aggressive reaction of the animal. In another embodiment, the handle 2 is made in such a way as to ensure its holding by a stationary element, for example, an element of the interior or exterior of a building, an outdoor structure, a pen, etc. Various configurations of the handle 2 can provide portability for the repelling device, for example, it can be telescopic.

[0047]

[0025] The contact element 1 comprises a stiffening plate 8. Attached to the stiffening plate 8, for example by means of adhesive,

[0048] 9

[0049] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) shock-absorbing material 9, designed to absorb the impact upon contact with the animal's body, minimizing or eliminating physical damage to the animal. Fig. 2 shows an embodiment in which the shock-absorbing material 9 covers a portion of the stiffening plate 8, however, in other embodiments, the shock-absorbing material 9 can completely or almost completely cover the stiffening plate 8, to eliminate the possibility of contact of the animal's body with the stiffening plate 8. The shock-absorbing material 9 is a material suitable for ensuring the possibility of minimizing or eliminating physical damage to the animal, for example, foamed polypropylene, foamed polyethylene, foamed polyurethane, foamed rubber, etc.

[0050]

[0026] The repelling device also comprises a sound device (not shown) for creating a sound signal that causes a repelling effect in an animal. In one embodiment, the sound device comprises a loudspeaker or speaker that converts an electrical signal into a sound signal and allows for providing a sound signal with a different specified frequency, as well as duration and volume. If necessary, the sound device can be implemented with the ability to select a specific frequency range of sound for a specific animal, for example, by means of a user interface implemented on the handle, or an alternate change in the frequency range of sound can initially be implemented. An ultrasonic signal can be used as a sound signal. It is known that different frequencies of an ultrasonic signal have an effect on different animals, in particular a repelling effect, but at the same time

[0051] 10

[0052] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) the user and / or surrounding people do not hear it. The sound device may be fully or partially located in the handle 2. In this case, when the handle 2 or part thereof is made removable in the repelling device, access to the sound device may be provided, for example, for adjustment, maintenance or replacement of the power source. In another embodiment, the power source may be replaced through an opening element of the handle 2, for example through the bottom cover (not shown). In another embodiment, the sound device contains a bell for creating a sound signal.

[0053]

[0027] The contact element 1, in particular the stiffening plate 8, is connected to the handle 2 by means of a hinge 10, which is part of the handle 2 or is a separate element connected to the handle 2. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the connection of the stiffening plate 8 and the hinge 10 is a hinge connection, in which the rotation of the stiffening plate 8 is carried out relative to an axis common with the hinge 10, shown in dotted form in Fig. 2. In another embodiment, the connection of the stiffening plate 8 and the hinge 10 is a hinge connection, in which the rotation of the stiffening plate 8 is carried out relative to a point common with the hinge 10, thus allowing the rotation of the stiffening plate 8 by 360 degrees in the horizontal plane. The handle 2 comprises one or more buttons 11 for activating the sound device and one or more springs 12.The term "spring" is not limited to a metal plate or a metal thread twisted into a spiral and includes anything.

[0054] 11

[0055] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) a suitable mechanical device in the form of an elastic element returning to its original position or state after the load is removed. In Fig. 2, one button 11 and one spring 12 are shown behind the stiffening plate 8. The width of the button 11 and the width of the spring 12 can be greater than the width of the stiffening plate 8, as shown in Fig. 2, equal or less. In the embodiment in which the rotation of the stiffening plate 8 is carried out relative to the axis, the repelling device is preferably equipped with two pairs of buttons 11 and springs 12 located opposite each other to correspond to the rotation of the stiffening plate 8 relative to the axis in two opposite directions. In the embodiment in which the rotation of the rigidity plate 8 is carried out relative to the point, the repelling device can be equipped with one button 11 surrounding the rigidity plate 8, or a plurality of buttons 11 surrounding the rigidity plate 8, and one spring 12 surrounding the rigidity plate 8, or a plurality of springs 12 surrounding the rigidity plate 8. When the contact element 1 touches the animal's body, an effect on the contact element 1 occurs, transmitted by means of the rotation of the rigidity plate 8 to the button 11 for activating the sound device to create a sound signal. In this case, the rotation of the rigidity plate 8 also acts on the spring 12, compressing it. Subsequent release of the spring 12 ensures the return of the rigidity plate 8 and, accordingly, the repelling device to the original working configuration. The original working configuration is understood to mean the arrangement of the rigidity plate 8 parallel or almost parallel to the handle 2.The sound signal is generated when the sound device is activated by button 11.

[0056] 12

[0057] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) as a result of the contact of the repelling device with the animal's body, and it lasts for a certain time, for example 1, 2, 3 seconds or more. Alternatively, the duration of the sound signal may depend on the duration of the action on the button 11, for example, due to the duration of the contact of the repelling device with the animal's body and / or the duration of the release of the spring 12. The use of a short duration of the signal makes it possible to reduce the likelihood of the animal getting used to the sound. In order to reduce the likelihood of the animal getting used to the sound, the frequency or volume of the sound signal may also be varied depending on the force applied during the contact of the contact element with the animal's body, respectively the force of pressing the button 11 for activating the sound device.

[0058]

[0028] By creating an audible signal that provides a deterrent effect when the deterrent device comes into contact with the body of an animal, the need for violent physical contact that causes physical harm to the animal for deterrence is minimized or eliminated.

[0059]

[0029] In addition to the fact that the shock-absorbing material 9 provides the possibility of minimizing or eliminating physical damage to the animal, the very contact of the repelling device with the animal's body provides a repelling effect, which, in combination with the generated sound signal, forms a synergistic effect.
