AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for introducing sewage sludge onto a drying surface in solar sewage sludge dryers require significant energy and result in contamination due to splashing and inaccurate deposition, especially when conveyed upwards and deposited from a great height.

Method used

A method and device utilizing a linear conveyor with a movable discharge device that allows sewage sludge to be deposited at predetermined locations on the drying surface, using a cross conveyor to transport sludge laterally and reduce the height of conveyance, combined with variable conveyor speeds and controlled deposition patterns.

Benefits of technology

Reduces energy consumption and contamination by enabling precise, low-height deposition of sewage sludge, facilitating even distribution and efficient drying through controlled distribution mechanisms.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for introducing sewage sludge (5) onto a drying surface (2) of a sludge drying system (1), wherein sludge (5) to be dried is conveyed along the drying surface (2) by means of a linear conveyor (11) and is discharged at specified points on the drying surface (2). The linear conveyor (11) interacts with a removal device (13) which can be moved along the linear conveyor (11). A corresponding device for introducing sewage sludge (5) onto a drying surface (2) of a sludge drying system comprises a linear conveyor (11) for conveying the sludge (5) to be dried along the drying surface (2) and for discharging the sludge (5) at specified points on the drying surface (2). The linear conveyor (11) is paired with a removal device (13) which can be moved along the linear conveyor (11).
