Abstract

The technical solution relates to a propolis virucidal oral spray, which contains 16.1 % to 18.1 % by weight of propolis extract, and 72.5 % by weight of ethanol enriched with menthol and the remainder up to 100 % by weight of the mixture is water. The preparation, applied in the form of a spray, forms a protective film (liquid veil) on the mucous membrane of the mouth and nose, which protects the user from infection.

[0003] The technical solution relates to a preparation which uses active substances of natural origin contained in propolis to provide protection from infection by coronavirus and other pathogens. The preparation, applied in the form of a spray, forms a protective film (liquid mask) on the mucous membrane of the mouth and nose which protects the user from infection.

[0005] Currently, numerous products and preparations are known, the basis of which is propolis and the substances contained in it. The positive effect on the human body, proven by many years of experience in the field of increasing the immune system, is used as a part of cosmetic products and in numerous other fields, without specifically using the potential of propolis extract in the field of virucidal effects aimed at protecting the oral and nasal cavities.

[0007] The virucidal effects of propolis and the substances contained therein are utilized by the preparation according to this technical solution, which contains 16.1 % to 18.1 % by weight of propolis extract, and 72.5 % by weight of ethanol enriched with menthol, and the total mixture is supplemented to 100 % by weight with purified water, wherein the propolis extract contains 1.50 % by weight of propolis dissolved in 40.67 % by weight of ethanol enriched with menthol, supplemented to 100 % by weight with purified water.

[0008] In a preferred embodiment, the propolis extract further contains 0,01 % by weight of quaternary ammonium salt. Ethanol enriched with menthol contains a mixture of ethanol with a concentration of 96 % by volume, menthol and water in a ratio of 95 % by weight of ethanol, 1 % by weight of menthol, made up to 100% by weight with purified water.

[0011] A propolis extract is mixed with ethanol enriched with menthol and the mixture thus prepared is supplemented with water (purified water). The mutual ratio of the individual components of the prepared mixture is shown in Table 1 and the composition of the propolis extract is shown in Table 2.

[0015] A propolis extract in an amount of 16.1 to 18.1 % by weight is mixed with ethanol enriched with menthol in an amount of 72.5 % by weight and the mixture thus obtained is supplemented with water (purified) to 100 % by weight. The mutual ratio of the individual components of the obtained mixture is shown in Table 3. The composition of the propolis extract is according to Table 2, or according to Table 4, where the propolis extract also contains a quaternary ammonium salt.

[0018] The technical solution has direct applicability for the purposes of prevention and protection of the human body from infection by coronavirus and other pathogenic organisms. It protects the user's oral and nasal cavities by creating a protective coating on the mucous membrane when applied, which has neutralizing effects and functions as a shield from bacteria and viruses.

CLAIMS1 . A propolis virucidal oral spray, characterized in that it contains 16.1 wt. % to 18.1 % by weight of a propolis extract, and 72.5 % by weight of ethanol enriched with menthol and the remainder up to 100 % by weight of the mixture is water, wherein the propolis extract contains 1 .50 % by weight of propolis dissolved in 40.67 % by weight of ethanol enriched with menthol, supplemented up to 100 % by weight with water.

2. The propolis virucidal oral spray according to claim 1 , wherein the propolis extract further contains 0.01 % by weight of quaternary ammonium salt.
