Description

Cosmetic application member, method for manufacturing cosmetic application member, and cosmetic applicator

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic application member, a method for manufacturing a cosmetic application member, and a cosmetic applicator, and in particular to a rod-shaped cosmetic application member that maintains its shape before and after use.

[0002] Stick-shaped cosmetic application members such as lipstick are manufactured by pouring a material containing oil or pigment into an ogive or a mold as described in Patent Document 1 and solidifying it. Ogive, in particular, is an elastically deformable resin material that can be molded into shapes that cannot be released from a mold, allowing for the application of three-dimensional patterns, and is therefore widely used to form stick-shaped cosmetic application members. Meanwhile, by using a mold, fine irregularities can also be formed on the tip of the cosmetic application member, as described in Patent Document 2. Molds have the advantage of not requiring frequent replacement, unlike ogives.

[0003] However, regardless of the molding method, typical rod-shaped cosmetic applicators color the target, such as skin, by transferring a pigment to the target along with the oil components contained in the raw material. As a result, the cosmetic applicator material wears and chips with each use, changing its shape, and any engraved or other patterns quickly wear away. Many consumers purchase cosmetic applicators, such as lipstick, while considering the brand, and therefore require that engraved patterns, such as logos, do not quickly chip away. Furthermore, it is required that the slopes, corners, or polygonal shapes of the tip of lipstick and other products do not simply resemble a rounded rod.

[0004] JP 2014-045985 A JP 2008-278976 A

[0005] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above circumstances, and aims to solve the problem that the shape and pattern of conventional cosmetic applicators such as lipstick cannot be maintained before and after use.

[0006] In order to solve the above problems, there is provided a cosmetic application member comprising an outer member and an inner shaft member, wherein the outer member is generally rod-shaped and has a recess in the axial direction from the rear end to the front end, the inner shaft member is arranged to abut against the inner surface of the recess in the outer member, the outer member is made of a sintered porous plastic and has a porosity of 30% to 70%, and maintains its shape before and after use, and the inner shaft member is made of a porous body of synthetic fiber and / or synthetic resin, and the porosity of the inner shaft member is greater than that of the outer member.

[0007] The sintered porous plastic of the outer member may be sintered polyethylene.

[0008] The cosmetic application member may have a surface on the outer member that is inclined with respect to the axial direction at a tip portion thereof.

[0009] The cosmetic application member may have a fine concave or convex decorative pattern on the surface of the outer member.

[0010] The method for manufacturing a cosmetic application member of the present invention is characterized by including the steps of: preparing a mold having the surface shape of the outer member and the shape of the recess of the outer member; filling the mold with granular plastic material; heating the granular plastic material to mold the outer member; removing the outer member formed in the molding step; and inserting the inner shaft member into the recess of the outer member.

[0011] It is preferable that the mold is a combination of a first mold having the shape of the tip portion of the outer member and a second mold having the shape of the side portion excluding the tip portion of the outer member and the recess.

[0012] The cosmetic applicator of the present invention uses the above-described cosmetic application member.

[0013] The cosmetic applicator of the present invention is manufactured by the above-described method for manufacturing a cosmetic application member.

[0014] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a rod-shaped cosmetic application member and cosmetic applicator that can maintain a shape that makes it easy to apply to an object and a three-dimensional shape of an engraved logo or the like.

[0015]

[0033] Figure 1 shows an example of a cosmetic application member of the present invention. Figure 1(a) is an example of a front view, Figure 1(b) is an example of a side view of the axial rear end portion, and Figure 1(c) is an example of a longitudinal cross-section.

[0034] Figure 2 shows another example of a cosmetic application member of the present invention. Figure 2(a) is an example of an example in which a logo is engraved in the central portion of the outer member, and Figure 2(b) is an example of an example in which a logo is engraved in the tip portion of the outer member.

[0035] Figure 3 shows an example of a mold of the present invention. Figure 3(a) is an example of a longitudinal cross-section, Figure 3(b) is an example of a longitudinal cross-section rotated 90° about the axial direction of Figure 3(a), and Figure 3(c) is an example of a side view of the rear end portion of the mold.

[0036] Figure 4 shows an example of a cosmetic applicator of the present invention. Figure 4(a) shows an example in which a cosmetic application member is attached to and stored in a dispensing container, and Figure 4(b) shows an example in which the cosmetic application member is dispensed from the dispensing container.

[0016] The applicator of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings and using appropriate reference numerals, but the embodiment is not limited to this.

[0017] In this specification, "tip portion" refers to the most distal end (position) of each component or section on the application side of the cosmetic applicator, "rear end" refers to the most distal end (position) of each component or section on the opposite side to the application side of the cosmetic applicator, "tip portion" refers to the tip portion and the portion nearby the tip portion of each component, "rear end" refers to the rear end portion and the portion nearby the rear end of each component, and "central portion" refers to the vicinity of the center in the axial direction of each component, between the tip portion and the rear end. Furthermore, "tip side" refers to the application side, and "rear end side" refers to the opposite side to the application side.

[0018] The cosmetic application member 1 of the present invention comprises an outer member 2 and an inner shaft member 3 .

[0019] The outer member 2 is generally rod-shaped and has a recess extending axially from the rear end to the tip end. The inner surface of the recess is provided to abut against the inner surface of the recess. The shape of the recess is not limited to a cylindrical shape, a polygonal pillar shape, or any other shape that allows for release from the mold described below. However, a cylindrical shape is preferable because it facilitates the process of inserting the inner shaft member 3 into the recess. Furthermore, the tip end of the recess may be perpendicular to the axial direction in a longitudinal cross-sectional view or may be rounded. Other shapes are also possible as long as the inner shaft member 3 can be inserted into the recess. The depth of the recess may be within the axial length of the outer member 2, and the diameter of the recess may be within the outer diameter of the outer member 2, as long as the shape of the outer member 2 before and after use is maintained. The inner shaft member 3 inserted into the recess of the outer member 2 holds the cosmetic and creates a difference in capillary force with the outer member 2, thereby appropriately supplying the cosmetic to the outer member 2. Therefore, the volume of the recess is adjusted according to the required volume of the recess and the capillary force of the outer member 2.

[0020] The tip of the surface of the outer member 2 is preferably formed with a slope to facilitate application of the cosmetic material. The angles, lines, and surfaces formed by the slope make it possible to apply the cosmetic material along the delicate shape of the object to be coated. In addition to the slope, the tip of the surface of the outer member 2 may also be formed with a polygonal or asymmetrical / symmetrical spherical surface. However, it is desirable that the shape be such that it can be released from the mold described below.

[0021] Furthermore, the surface of the outer member 2 may have a finely concave or finely convex decorative pattern. As shown in FIG. 2( a), a finely concave decorative pattern may be applied, such as a logo engraved from the tip to the center of the outer member 2, or as shown in FIG. 2( b), a finely concave decorative pattern may be applied, such as a logo engraved on the sloped surface of the tip of the outer member 2. If it is engraved, it will be concave, but a finely convex decorative pattern may also be applied. However, when applying a fine pattern to the sloped surface of the tip of the outer member 2, it is desirable that it be concave in order to avoid friction with the object to be coated.

[0022] The outer member 2 is made of sintered porous plastic. That is, it is formed by sintering plastic particles. Specific examples include polyolefins such as polyethylene and polypropylene, polyamides such as Nylon (registered trademark), polyphenylene sulfide, and acrylic resins. Among these, sintered polyethylene, which is formed by sintering polyethylene particles, is preferred.

[0023] When the outer member 2 is made of sintered polyethylene, the particle size of the polyethylene material is preferably in the range of 30 μm to 330 μm, more preferably 30 μm to 200 μm, or 50 μm to 200 μm. The molecular weight of the polyethylene particles is preferably in the range of 200,000 to 5,000,000, more preferably 1,000,000 to 4,500,000, or 1,500,000 to 1,900,000.

[0024] The porosity of the outer member 2 is preferably 30% to 70%, more preferably 30% to 60%, and even more preferably 30% to 50%.

[0025] The inner shaft member 3 is made of a porous material using synthetic fibers and / or synthetic resins. Examples of synthetic fiber-based materials include those made by bundling synthetic fibers and solidifying them with urethane resin, or those made by mixing synthetic fibers with low melting points and bonding synthetic fibers with low melting points. Examples of synthetic resin-based materials include those made by molding thermoplastic resins into the required cross-sectional shape and dimensions by melt extrusion molding, and those made by molding thermoplastic resin granules that are partially fused to each other and form interconnected pores between the granules, which are then molded by a sintering method. Examples include synthetic fibers such as nylon, polyester, and acrylic fibers, or a mixture of these fibers; synthetic resins such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polybutylene terephthalate, polyacetal, and nylon; olefin resins such as polyethylene and polypropylene; acrylic resins; polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polyvinyl acetate, polyurethane, Teflon (registered trademark), ABS resin, AS resin, polyphenylene sulfide, polysulfone, polyethersulfone, polyetheretherketone, and polyimide. The porosity of the porous body of the inner shaft member 3 is greater than that of the outer member 2. Therefore, when the amount of the cosmetic or other liquid stored in the outer member 2 decreases due to application or slight evaporation, the liquid moves to the outer member 2 due to the capillary force of the outer member 2. The porosity of the inner shaft member 3 is preferably adjusted to a range of 65% to 95%, and more preferably a range of 75% to 95%, or 80% to 95%.

[0026] The cosmetic application member 1 can be attached to various cosmetic containers depending on the application, and can also be designed to be attached to a dispensing container. When attached to a lipstick dispensing container, the size of the cosmetic application member 1 is, for example, 12 mm in outer diameter and 36 mm in length, depending on the shape of the dispensing container. The size of the recess in the outer member 2 is, for example, 8 mm in inner diameter and 28 mm in length. That is, in this example, the size of the inner shaft member 3 is 8 mm in outer diameter and 28 mm in length. The shape of the rear end portion of the cosmetic application member 1 may be appropriately processed so that it can be attached to a cosmetic container depending on the application. In this case, the rear end of the outer member 2 and the rear end of the inner shaft member 3 may be at the same axial position, or the rear end of the outer member 2 may be further rearward, or the rear end of the inner shaft member 3 may be further rearward.

[0027] By configuring the outer member 2 and the inner shaft member 3 with the materials and sizes described above, when the cosmetic application member 1 is used for lipstick, it has basic performance such as a feel on the skin that is at least as good as that of conventional oil-containing lipstick and the ability to adjust the amount of cosmetic applied to the same extent. In addition, the shape and uneven pattern 4 of the cosmetic application member 1 are maintained before and after use, allowing for repeated use.

[0028] The manufacturing method of the cosmetic application member 1 of the present invention includes the steps of preparing a mold K having the surface shape of the outer member 2 and the shape of the recess of the outer member 2, filling the mold K with granular plastic material, heating and molding the granular plastic material, removing the outer member 2 formed in the molding step, and inserting the inner shaft member 3 into the recess of the outer member 2.

[0029] As illustrated in Figures 3(a) and 3(b), the mold K is preferably a combination of a first mold K1 having the shape of the tip portion of the outer member 2 and a second mold K2 having the shape of the side and recess portions excluding the tip portion of the outer member 2. The method and position (separation position) of combining the first mold K1 and the second mold K2 are not limited as long as the molded outer member 2 can be removed from the mold K. In addition, as shown in Figure 3(c), the mold K preferably has a filling port so that a particulate plastic material can be filled from the rear end portion.

[0030] Granular plastic material is filled into the prepared mold K through its opening by vibration and heated. The heating conditions are adjusted to a range in which a sintered porous plastic is formed. For example, when the sintered porous plastic is sintered polyethylene, a heating temperature of 180°C and a heating time of 30 minutes are used. After the mold K is cooled, the outer member 2 is removed from the first mold K1 and the second mold K2. Separately, the inner shaft member 3 is molded. The inner shaft member 3 is a porous body made of synthetic fiber and / or synthetic resin. The molding conditions are adjusted depending on the raw materials of the synthetic fiber and synthetic resin to obtain the porous body. The molded inner shaft member 3 is inserted into the molded outer member 2 to produce the cosmetic application member 1. Note that while the method of manufacturing the cosmetic application member 1 by inserting the inner shaft member 3 into the outer member 2 has been described, this does not exclude other manufacturing methods that can produce the cosmetic application member 1 having the above-mentioned characteristics.

[0031] The cosmetic applicator 5 of the present invention includes the cosmetic application member 1 described above. In addition to the cosmetic application member 1, the cosmetic applicator 5 may include any container, such as an inner shaft member 3 impregnated with a cosmetic. An example of such a container is a dispensing container 6 (see FIGS. 4(a) and 4(b)). Any cosmetic may be used as long as it can be impregnated into the inner shaft member 3 and supplied to the outer member 2. The cosmetic may include water, polyhydric alcohols, glycerin, emollients, fixing agents, preservatives, dyes, pigments, fragrances, etc. The cosmetic applicator 5 of the present invention is manufactured by the manufacturing method for the cosmetic application member 1 described above. However, other manufacturing methods capable of producing a cosmetic application member 1 having the above-described characteristics may also be used.

[0032] The examples of the present invention were compared with conventional lipsticks and the like and evaluated.

[0033] A mold K in the shape of a rod-shaped cosmetic application member 1 was prepared. The mold K had an outer diameter of 12 mm and a length of 36 mm. The mold K had a convex portion with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 28 mm corresponding to the concave portion of the outer member 2, and a filling port for filling with particulate plastic material. The mold K was a combination of a first mold K1 having the shape of the tip portion of the outer member 2 and a second mold K2 having the shape of the side portion and concave portion of the outer member 2 excluding the tip portion. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (molecular weight: 1.7 million) with a particle size of 115 μm was filled through the filling port by vibration, and then heated to 180°C for approximately 30 minutes. The mold was cooled, and the outer member 2 with a porosity of 40% was removed. A porous inner shaft member 3 molded using 5-denier polyester fibers with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 28 mm and a porosity of 83% was inserted into the concave portion of the outer member 2, thereby obtaining a cosmetic application member 1. The cosmetic application member 1 was attached to a dispensing container 6, and a cosmetic applicator 5 was designated Example 1.

[0034] In contrast, a commercially available lipstick (Lipstick Tint, manufactured by Erato Co., Ltd.) was used as Comparative Example 1. A configuration in which the porosity of the outer member was adjusted to 80% and the porosity of the inner shaft member was adjusted to 83% was used as Comparative Example 2. Furthermore, a configuration in which a mold not having the shape of the recessed portion of the outer member was used and no inner shaft member was provided (a configuration in which the entire configuration was composed of the outer member) with a porosity of 40% was used as Comparative Example 3.

[0035] Ten people evaluated Example 1 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3. The evaluation was conducted using lips as the object to be applied, with Comparative Example 1, a conventional lipstick, as the benchmark (◯), with 8 or more people rating it as excellent being rated as ◎, 5 or more people rating it as excellent being ◯, and less than 5 people rating it as excellent being △. Here, "shape retention" evaluated whether the shape of the lipstick surface was maintained, "application amount" evaluated whether the amount of cosmetic was sufficient, "skin feel" evaluated whether the texture was good when the cosmetic was applied to the lips, "stability over time" evaluated whether the cosmetic could be stably applied to the object to be applied over multiple days, and "strength" evaluated whether the application portion of the cosmetic application member was damaged when used repeatedly. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1.

[0036] [Rule 26, amended 24.04.2025]

[0037] As shown in Table 1, Example 1, compared to Comparative Example 1 (a conventional lipstick), was found to have a pleasant texture, a controlled application amount that was not too much, and excellent shape retention and strength. In particular, with regard to shape retention, it was found that the shape of the tip of the outer member 2 and the finely textured decorative pattern applied thereto were maintained, allowing for continued use. In contrast, the results of Comparative Example 2 revealed that a high porosity of the outer member resulted in poor texture and strength, excessive release of cosmetic material, and poor stability over time, as the amount of cosmetic material dispensed decreased relatively quickly. Furthermore, the results of Comparative Example 3 revealed that when the cosmetic application member was made solely of the material of the outer member, the cosmetic material settled and a significant decrease in the amount of cosmetic material dispensed occurred.
