AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing robot vacuum cleaners struggle to effectively clean diverse floor surfaces and contaminants due to varying environmental conditions, lacking the ability to accurately identify and adapt cleaning methods accordingly.

Method used

The robot vacuum cleaner employs a camera to capture images, detect contaminants, and apply external stimuli like airflow, static electricity, or light to identify and concentrate contaminants, adjusting cleaning methods based on contaminant type and environmental conditions.

Benefits of technology

Accurately identifies contaminants and performs appropriate cleaning actions, enhancing cleaning efficiency and effectiveness across varying environments.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a robot cleaner and a control method therefor, the robot cleaner being capable of accurately identifying the type of contaminant in a cleaning space and performing cleaning by using an appropriate method accordingly, wherein the control method comprises the steps of: obtaining, through a camera, an image in a cleaning space; detecting a contaminant in the image; if the probability of accuracy of the type of the detected contaminant exceeds a first threshold, performing cleaning by using a method corresponding to the type of the detected contaminant; if the probability of accuracy of the type of the detected contaminant is less than a second threshold, ignoring the detected contaminant; and if the probability of accuracy of the type of the detected contaminant is no greater than the first threshold and no less than the second threshold, applying different external stimuli toward the detected contaminant according to the type of the detected contaminant to thus identify the type of the detected contaminant.
