Description
[0001] Description
[0002] "Household appliance and method of operation"
[0003] The present invention relates to a hinge assembly for a door assembly of a treatment chamber of a household appliance, and in particular for the door of a cooking appliance with a cooking chamber. The hinge assembly comprises at least one hinge strip with at least one hinge body, at least one hinge leaf, and at least one motor assembly, in particular for fully and / or semi-automatically opening the door. The hinge body and the hinge leaf are rotatably connected to each other via at least one hinge axis, and the hinge leaf is pivotable about the hinge axis relative to the hinge body from at least one closed position to at least one open position. The hinge blade has at least one displacement axis, which is coupled to at least one displacement element of the hinge band, in order to pull the hinge blade at least partially into the closed position and to push the hinge blade at least partially into the open position. The displacement element can be displaced at least partially in a first direction of movement to reach the open position and / or in a second direction of movement to reach the closed position by means of the motor device (translational). Furthermore, the displacement element is preloaded at least in the second direction of movement to reach the closed position by means of at least one first preloading device. At least one cam mechanism is provided, comprising at least one cam guide on the hinge blade and at least one cam element on the hinge strap, wherein the cam element, in operative connection with the cam guide, at least holds the hinge blade in the closed position (or even presses the hinge blade into the closed position). The present invention further relates to a household appliance, and in particular a cooking appliance, with such a hinge mechanism. The present invention also relates to a method for operating such a cooking appliance.
[0004] Hinge devices for household appliances are known, for example, from the publications EP 2 871317 A1 and EP 1961901 B1.
[0005] Household appliances with a cooking chamber, such as ovens and / or steam cookers, typically include a hinged door that closes access to the cooking chamber. For cooking appliances, in particular, a highly reliable seal must be achieved by means of the door to prevent the heat used for cooking, or even the heat generated during automatic cleaning via pyrolysis, from escaping the cooking chamber. This is usually accomplished by a seal around the cooking chamber opening, into which the door is pressed or pulled when closed. Thus, a closing force is applied to the door.
[0006] This means that a relatively large force is initially required to open the door from the closed position. This is relatively easy for the user, as the handle for opening the door is usually located at the top and the door is typically hinged at the bottom, resulting in a relatively favorable leverage ratio and allowing the door to be opened easily.
[0007] However, problems arise when an automatic door opening mechanism is required. A motor or drive for opening the door typically acts at the bottom of the door or directly on the door hinge. This creates an unfavorable leverage ratio, meaning that a relatively large force, and therefore a high torque, is required at the drive to initially open the door.
[0008] The problem with this is that while a motor or drive can be provided accordingly, it will be oversized for the remaining opening of the door. This means that an unnecessarily large or powerful motor must be installed for the first 10° or so of opening. This unnecessarily increases costs, and the drive may also not be operating within its optimal performance range.
[0009] It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a household appliance in which the initial opening of the door requires less effort.
[0010] This problem is solved by a hinge device with the features of claim 1, by a household appliance with the features of claim 14, and by a method with the features of claim 15. Preferred embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims. Further advantages and features of the invention will become apparent from the exemplary embodiments.
[0011] The hinge device according to the invention is suitable for a door of a treatment compartment of a household appliance, and in particular of a cooking appliance, and comprises at least one hinge band with at least one hinge body, at least one hinge leaf, and at least one motor device or at least one drive, wherein the hinge body and the hinge leaf are rotatably connected to each other via at least one hinge axis. The hinge leaf is pivotable about the hinge axis relative to the hinge body from at least one closed position to at least one open position. Furthermore, at least one displacement axis is provided on the hinge leaf, which is coupled to at least one displacement element of the hinge band in order to pull the hinge leaf at least partially into the closed position and to push the hinge leaf at least partially into the open position. The displacement element can be moved (translatively) by means of the motor device in a first direction of movement to reach the open position and / or in a second direction of movement to reach the closed position, at least in sections. The displacement element is preloaded in the direction of movement to reach the closed position by means of at least one preloading device. Furthermore, at least one cam mechanism is provided, which comprises at least one cam guide on the hinge blade and at least one cam element on the hinge band, wherein the cam element, in operative connection with the cam guide, at least holds the hinge blade in the closed position and / or presses the hinge blade into the closed position.Furthermore, at least a second preloading device is assigned to the cam element, which preloads the cam element at least in the direction of the cam guide, wherein the force of the second preloading device is adjustable.
[0012] The door or door mechanism is designed to open and close automatically, at least temporarily. This is particularly intended so that, for example, if the appliance is designed as a cooking appliance, the cooking chamber can be quickly ventilated or cooled by automatically opening the door. It is also specifically intended that a user can automatically open the door or cooking chamber at the touch of a button, whereby the door automatically moves from the closed position to the open position and vice versa.
[0013] The hinge is received in particular on a housing device of the household appliance, wherein the hinge blade is particularly suitable and designed to be received on the door of the household appliance.
[0014] The pivot range of the hinge is preferably approximately 90°, with the closed position preferably being at approximately 0° and the open position at approximately 90°.
[0015] In the closed position, the door is closed and preferably fits tightly against a seal, so that the treatment room or cooking chamber is sealed as tightly as possible by the door. The door or door mechanism can be pressed against or into a seal, particularly by means of the hinge mechanism.
[0016] The cam element preferably comprises at least one roller or sliding element and / or the like, which is preferably guided along the cam guide or brought into contact with it at least temporarily during the opening and closing of the door. The cam guide, in particular, comprises at least one predetermined contour along the hinge blade.
[0017] The displacement element can be provided in particular by at least one spring holder, which in particular accommodates the first preloading device.
[0018] The first preloading device makes it possible, in particular, to absorb the weight of the door when it is opened.
[0019] Preferably, the first preloading device serves to pull the door into the closed end position or the locked position.
[0020] The first preloading device and the second preloading device preferably each comprise at least one spring, preferably at least one compression spring.
[0021] The preloading of the second preloading device in the direction of the cam is designed in such a way that the cam element is in operative connection with the cam guide at least in certain angular ranges of the door or exerts a force on the cam so that the door is held in the closed position or pressed into a seal.
[0022] It is particularly preferred that a force is applied when a certain closing angle is undershot. For example, it can be provided that there is no contact between the cam element and the cam track or cam guide within a closing angle range of 90° to 45°. Initial contact can occur, for example, at a closing angle of approximately 45°, with the force acting on the cam or cam guide preferably increasing as the door is closed. For example, maximum pressure can be applied at a closing angle of approximately 1.5° to 2°. Depending on the embodiment, other angle segments can be advantageously selected to transmit specific forces to the hinge leaf or cam guide via the second preloading device. The hinge device according to the invention can preferably be further developed such that other known functionalities of hinge devices are implemented.Preferably, at least some damping and / or a self-closing design can be provided.
[0023] The hinge device according to the invention offers many advantages. A significant advantage is that two preloading devices are provided to hold the door device or the door in the closed position, to hold the door in a desired position, or to push the door into a desired position.
[0024] In particular, it may be provided that, for example in a cooking appliance, the force of the two preloading devices is used to press the cooking chamber door into a seal, so that the cooking chamber is sealed particularly well by means of the door.
[0025] Automated door opening requires a motor capable of moving the door at least partially. However, if the door is forced into or held in its final position, a disproportionately high torque is required for the initial opening, rendering the motor oversized for the remainder of the opening and closing process.
[0026] In order to use a suitably designed motor or drive for the door, the force required to hold the door closed is, according to the invention, distributed between two preloading devices. This makes it possible to switch off the second preloading device when the door is opened or shortly before it opens, or to reduce the force of the second preloading device for opening, thus significantly reducing the torque or force required to initially push the door open.
[0027] This allows the motor or drive to be designed much smaller, making it better suited to the force required for the remaining opening range of the door. Once the door has exceeded a critical opening angle for the required force, the second preloading device can be reactivated or its spring force increased, ensuring that when the door is subsequently closed, it is pressed or held in the end position in a predetermined manner.
[0028] Preferably, the second preloading device is suitable and designed to be at least temporarily weakened and / or switched off. In particular, it is provided that the force of the preloading device can be weakened or strengthened, or switched on and / or off.
[0029] In particular, it is preferred that the force applied to the cam guide can be adjusted, for which purpose the entire second preloading device can also be provided in a movable manner.
[0030] The second preloading device is particularly preferred if it is mechanically, motor-driven, and / or magnetically adjustable. The skilled person can select suitable means and methods to adjust the force and / or engagement of the second preloading device according to the force currently required.
[0031] In advantageous embodiments, a first stop of the second preloading device is fixed, and a second stop of the second preloading device is variable (adjustable). In particular, it is provided that a spring is enclosed by the preloading device and that one stop of the spring is fixed, while the other stop is variable or adjustable, so that the spring travel and thus the force applied can be adjusted.
[0032] Preferably, the first and second preloading devices each comprise at least one compression spring.
[0033] The preloading device preferably comprises at least one spring switch which is movable between at least one open position and at least one closed position. It is particularly preferred that the spring switch can compress and / or relieve the spring travel or force travel of the preloading device, so that the preloading device or the force of the preloading device is adjustable.
[0034] In suitable designs, the spring travel of the second preloading device can be adjusted by means of the spring switch. It is specifically intended that, for example, when using a compression spring, a greater spring travel means less force transmission, while a smaller or compressed spring travel results in a greater force being applied to the corresponding components.
[0035] Preferably, the spring switch comprises at least one detent. Such a detent can, for example, compress the preloading device or a spring of the preloading device and hold it compressed in this compressed state in operative connection with a suitable detent receptacle. This allows the second preloading device to be engaged when the detent engages the detent receptacle. When the detent is released from the detent receptacle, the force of the second preloading device is weakened and, depending on the design, deactivated. For this purpose, the spring switch can, for example, be mounted for rotational movement.
[0036] Preferably, at least one drive element is arranged on at least one movable component of the hinge, the drive element moving the spring switch from the open position to the closed position. In particular, this makes it possible for the spring or the preloading device, after being released or relaxed to open the door, to be automatically re-tensioned or reactivated when the door is swung open. It is therefore preferred that, when the door is swung open, components of the hinge move in such a way that the drive element engages the detent of the spring switch and returns it to its initial or tensioned position (engages with the detent receptacle), so that the second preloading device exerts the force required to close the door.
[0037] Preferably, the displacement element is connected to the displacement axis via at least one intermediate element.
[0038] Particularly preferably, the displacement element and / or the connecting element comprises at least one elongated hole for connecting the two components. Depending on the other mounting of the two components, the movable connection of the displacement element and the intermediate element by means of an elongated hole allows for a certain degree of upward and / or downward movement.
[0039] The elongated hole is oriented in such a way that the intermediate element and / or the displacement element can be moved at least slightly in the direction of a spring switch, whereby the detent element is preferably released from a detent receptacle, so that the spring switch releases.
[0040] Depending on the design, the second preloading device preferably includes at least one magnetic switch. Such a magnetic switch can also be used to provide a suitable means of adjusting the spring force or the force of the second preloading device.
[0041] In an alternative or additional version, the
[0042] Preloading device, in particular at least one electric motor, preferably with spindle drive, for adjusting the spring travel of the second preloading device. The force of the second preloading device can also be adjusted appropriately in this way.
[0043] The household appliance according to the invention comprises at least one housing assembly with at least one treatment chamber, wherein the treatment chamber comprises at least one treatment chamber opening which can be closed by means of at least one door assembly. The door assembly is received on the housing assembly by means of at least one hinge assembly, as described above.
[0044] The household appliance according to the invention is in particular designed as a cooking appliance, wherein the cooking appliance comprises at least one housing unit with at least one cooking chamber, the cooking chamber having at least one cooking chamber opening which can be closed by means of at least one door unit or at least one cooking chamber door. Preferably, at least one seal is arranged between the housing unit and the cooking chamber door or around the cooking chamber opening, into which the door unit is preferably pressed in the closed position.
[0045] The cooking appliance or household appliance is preferably equipped with a control unit and corresponding electronics. Particularly if the household appliance is designed as a cooking appliance, preferably at least one heating device or at least one heating method is provided to heat the cooking chamber.
[0046] The household appliance can also be designed as, for example, a dishwasher or another type of household appliance.
[0047] As previously stated, the door can be moved automatically or by motor, so that the cooking chamber or treatment room can be opened and / or closed automatically.
[0048] The household appliance or cooking appliance according to the invention offers the same advantages as previously described for the hinge device according to the invention.
[0049] The method according to the invention is suitable for operating a household appliance or a cooking appliance as previously described. In this method, the force of the second preloading device is reduced, at least temporarily and at least slightly, before or during the opening of the door mechanism.
[0050] In this process, the force is reduced or even eliminated, particularly before or during the opening of the doors, in the angular range where the cam element would otherwise exert a critical force on the cam guide for the motor. The method according to the invention also offers the advantages already described.
[0051] Preferably, the force of the second preloading device is increased (again), or the preloading device is reactivated or tensioned, before the door is closed. Specifically, the second preloading device is tensioned or the force is increased while the door is being opened. This ensures that the full force of both preloading devices is active again as soon as the door is in the open position. Depending on the design, however, the second preloading device can also be reactivated or its force increased only when the door is closing or during the closing process.
[0052] Further advantages and features of the present invention will become apparent from the exemplary embodiments, which are explained below with reference to the accompanying figures.

[0062] Figure 10 is a purely schematic representation of another embodiment of a hinge device according to the invention for a household appliance according to the invention in a sectional view from the side.
[0063] Figure 1 schematically depicts a household appliance 100 according to the invention in a perspective view. In the illustrated embodiments, the household appliance 100 is designed as a cooking appliance 200, specifically an oven.
[0064] The household appliance 100 comprises a housing unit 101 in which a treatment chamber 102, or in this case a cooking chamber 202, is formed. The treatment chamber opening 103, or the cooking chamber opening 203, can be closed by means of a door unit 104, or by means of a cooking chamber door 204.
[0065] In the illustrated embodiment, a seal 205 is formed or arranged around the cooking chamber opening 203, into which the cooking chamber door 204 is pressed in a closed position 7, so that a particularly tight closure of the cooking chamber 202 can be achieved.
[0066] In the illustrated embodiments, the door assembly 104 or oven door 204 is hinged at the bottom, for which purpose the oven door 204 is arranged or received on the housing assembly 101 via hinge assemblies 1 according to the invention. Figure 2 shows a purely schematic embodiment of a hinge assembly 1 according to the invention in a sectional side view. It is shown that the hinge assembly 1 comprises a hinge strip 2 with a hinge body 3 and a hinge blade 4.
[0067] In the illustrated embodiment, the hinge blade 4 is designed to receive or be attached to the door assembly 104 or a cooking chamber door 204. In the illustrated embodiment, the hinge band 2 is designed to be received in or on the housing assembly 101, so that the hinge assembly 1 connects the door assembly 104 to the housing assembly 101.
[0068] For motorized movement or automatic opening and closing of the door 104, a motor device 5 is provided, whereby a motor device 5 is understood in particular to be a drive 32 for the door.
[0069] The hinge blade 4 is pivotally or rotatably connected to the hinge strap 2 or the hinge body 3 via a hinge axis 6. Thus, the hinge blade 4 can be pivoted from a closed position 7, in which a door mechanism 104 arranged on the hinge blade 4 is closed, to an open position 8. In the illustrated embodiments, the open position 8 is offset by approximately 90° from the closed position 7. The closed position 7 is shown in the sectional view. The open position 8 is indicated schematically in the dashed box.
[0070] Furthermore, it is shown that the hinge blade 4 includes a displacement axis 9, to which a displacement element 10 is indirectly coupled via an intermediate element 10a. The displacement axis 9 is, in particular, a mounting point or point of application for the displacement element 10 or the intermediate element 10a. By pushing or pulling on this displacement axis 9, the door mechanism 104 or the oven door 204 can be opened or closed.
[0071] By means of the motor unit 5 or the drive 32, the displacement element 10 can be moved in a first direction of movement 11, whereby the door unit 104 is opened in this direction of movement. Furthermore, the displacement element 10 can be moved in a second direction of movement 12, so that the door 104 is closed by the movement of the displacement element 10 in this direction.
[0072] Furthermore, at least one initial preloading device 13 is provided, which is referred to here as
[0073] A compression spring 20 is formed or comprises a compression spring 20. This compression spring 20, or the first preloading device 13, is guided here over the displacement element 10, so that the displacement element provides a spring retainer 33.
[0074] In the illustrated embodiment, the transfer element 10 or the spring holder 33 is designed such that the first preloading device 13 or the compression spring 20 preloads the displacement element 10 in the second direction of movement 12, in which the door device 104 or the oven door 204 is closed.
[0075] In order to securely hold the door mechanism 104 or the oven door 204 in the closed position 7 and in particular to press the door mechanism 4 against or into the seal 205, a cam mechanism 14 is also provided, which here comprises a cam element 16 and a cam guide 15.
[0076] In the illustrated embodiment, the cam element 16 comprises a roller 34 which can roll along the cam guide 15 on the hinge blade 4 or be brought into operative contact with it.
[0077] Furthermore, the cam element 16 includes a second preloading device 17, which is also designed here as a compression spring 20. In the illustrated embodiment, the second preloading device 17, or the second compression spring 20, has a first stop 18, which is fixed and cannot be changed. On the right side, the second stop 19 in the illustrated embodiment is variably designed so that the force of the second preloading device can be adjusted.
[0078] In the illustrated embodiment, a spring switch 21 is provided which can increase or adjust the spring travel 24 of the second preloading device 17, so that the force exerted on the cam guide 15 by the cam element 16 via the second preloading device is reduced.
[0079] This ensures that when the spring switch 21 is open, the door does not have to act against the force of the second preloading device 17 in the first part of the opening process, so that the motor device 5 or the drive 32 can be selected to be correspondingly smaller.
[0080] Figure 3 shows a further embodiment of a hinge device 1 according to the invention, shown schematically from the side. Here, too, the hinge blade 4 and the hinge band 2 are known, but a different configuration is provided in which a damping element 35 is additionally arranged. Otherwise, the embodiment shown essentially corresponds to the previously shown embodiment. Figure 4 shows an embodiment of a hinge device 1 according to the invention in a purely schematic, partially cutaway view and an enlarged representation. The basic structure corresponds to the embodiment according to Figure 2.
[0081] Particularly evident in the enlarged view is the connection of the displacement element 10 to the intermediate element 10a via an elongated hole 27. This connection, especially due to the appropriate arrangement of the elongated hole 27 in relation to the directions of movement 11, 12, ensures that the spring switch 21 is not activated by the intermediate element 10a or the displacement element 10. Here, a detent 25 engages in a detent receptacle 31, thus limiting the spring travel 24 of the second preloading device 17, thereby activating the second preloading device 17 and exerting a strong force on the cam guide 15.
[0082] Figure 5 shows a purely schematic cutaway view and an enlarged illustration showing that in the illustrated embodiments, the displacement element 10 moves in the elongated hole 27 in such a way, when the displacement element 10 is moved in the direction of movement 11 by means of the motor device 5, that the intermediate element 10a is displaced upwards, thereby triggering the spring switch 21.
[0083] The intermediate element 10a pushes the locking device 25 out of the locking receptacle 31, causing the spring switch 21 to spring open, thus increasing the spring travel 24. This reduces the force required to open the door device 104 initially.
[0084] Figures 6 and 7 show, purely schematically, a top view of a hinge device 1 according to the invention, which, like the embodiments shown previously, has a spring switch 21 which limits the spring travel 24 of the second preloading device 17 in a closed position 23 and releases it in an open position 22.
[0085] As previously described, the locking element 25 is located in a detent receptacle 31 when the spring switch 21 is in the closed position 23. The locking element 25 is moved out of the detent receptacle 31 by lifting the intermediate element 10a, causing the rotatable spring switch 21 to pivot and increase the spring travel 24 of the second preloading device 17, thereby reducing the force acting on the cam guide.
[0086] Figure 8 schematically illustrates that the spring travel 24 in the closed position of the spring switch 21 (23) is greater than in the open position 22. It further shows that, by appropriately arranging a drive element 26 on a movable component of the hinge band 2, the spring switch 21 can be closed or tensioned again when the door mechanism is swung open further after the initial opening.
[0087] Thus, as soon as the door device 104 is opened, the spring switch 21 can be automatically re-tensioned, thereby pre-loading the spring travel 24 of the second pre-loading device 17. In the illustrated embodiment, the drive element 26 pushes the locking element 25 back into the locking receptacle 31 when the door is opened.
[0088] Figure 9 schematically illustrates another embodiment of a hinge device 1 according to the invention, in which a magnetic switch 28 is provided instead of a spring switch 21 to adjust the spring travel 24 of the second preloading device 17. Such a magnetic switch 28 can be designed accordingly, depending on the requirements.
[0089] Another adjustment option is shown schematically in Figure 10. In the embodiment of a hinge device 1 according to the invention shown here, the force of the second preloading device 17 is also adjustable, wherein the spring travel 24 of the compression spring 20 is adjustable here via an electric motor 29 with spindle (drive) 36.
[0090] Depending on the design, alternatively or additionally to changing the spring travel 24 or adjusting the spring force of the second preloading device 17, the entire cam element 16 can also be moved in order to reduce or avoid the engagement in the cam guide 15 when the door 104 is initially opened.
