Abstract
Description
[0001] Pregnancy diagnosis simulator
[0002] FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The present invention generally relates to simulators used in pregnancy diagnosis.
[0004] The present invention particularly relates to the pregnancy diagnosis simulator, which is used in the training of veterinarians, has the same features as a live animal and provides diagnosis by ultrasonography.
[0005] STATE OF THE ART
[0006] Nowadays, medical students are given training with simulators during their education in order to better learn the operations they need to perform in their business lives. The use of simulators is indispensable in all fields of medicine, especially veterinary medicine, especially in terms of first-day proficiency and quality. Simulators aim to ensure that physician candidates practice sufficiently and gain self-confidence before the field.
[0007] The simulators used in the state of the art are far from reality in terms of anatomical structures, tissues and organs. Even though some simulators come close to reality visually, they cannot come close to reality visually in palpation application.
[0008] In the known state of the art, some documents have been found in research on the subject. An animal dystocia midwifery simulation training device is mentioned in document number CN209785386U. A uterine cavity simulation part is arranged in a cavity of said device. A series of contraction generating units are arranged on top of this simulation part. In this way, an attempt was made to implement the intended simulation with a movement created. However, the training device mentioned in this document represents a very small part of the animal. For this reason, it does not create the feeling of practicing on a real animal. Document number RU2084137C1 relates to a device for gaining skill in animal udder massage technique. The device mentioned in this document aims to teach the massage applied to the animal's udder before milking. This device only represents the animal's udder and does not provide any teaching about pregnancy.
[0009] As a result, improvements are being made in the simulators used for animals in the field of veterinary medicine, therefore new structures are needed that will eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and provide solutions to existing systems.
[0010] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0011] The present invention relates to pregnancy diagnosis simulator which fulfils the abovementioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
[0012] The main object of the present invention is to enable veterinarians to receive training with a more realistic simulator during their training and to practice more realistic pregnancy tests during their training to be used in the field of veterinary medicine and to ensure that the self-confidence of physicians is increased and they are more experienced when they go out into the field. To achieve this, animal models with a realistic appearance and tissue and organ structures that are sensory and anatomically closer to reality were used.
[0013] An object of the present invention is to ensure pregnancy diagnosis can be made through ultrasonography.

[0052] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0053] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the pregnancy diagnosis simulator are described only for clarifying the subject matter in a manner such that no limiting effect is created.
[0054] The present invention is a pregnancy diagnosis simulator used in the training of veterinarians, which has the same characteristics as a live animal and enables veterinarians to practice pregnancy testing with a more realistic training, comprising;
[0055] • an outer cabin (1) in the image of a real animal,
[0056] • a viewing window (2) that opens on the outer cabin (1),
[0057] • a carrier scaffold (5) positioned inside the outer cabin (1),
[0058] • a capsule (6) that is positioned on the carrier scaffold (5) and has the representative anatomy of the animal and contains its representative organs, an application window (7) that opens at the back of the outer cabin (1) and allows a representative pregnancy test to be performed.
[0059] Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the side and rear views of the pregnancy diagnosis simulator of the present invention. In the mentioned simulator, the outer cabin (1) is made of hard and solid material in the shape of a life-size animal. The outer cabin (1) is covered with sponge and synthetic fur fabric, giving it an aesthetic structure and achieving a more realistic appearance. There is a viewing window (2) on the side of the outer cabin (1) and an application window (7) on the back. The viewing window (2) allows the pregnancy diagnosis application to be monitored and the ultrasonography process to be performed at the same time. The viewing window (2) can be opened and closed via the window cover (3). The application window (7) allows pregnancy diagnosis to be made. The inner surface (4) of the outer cabin (1) is covered with a shiny fabric. In this way, a bright area is created inside the outer cabin (1). A carrier scaffold (5) is positioned inside the outer cabin (1). The carrier scaffold (5) enables the carrying of the capsule (6), which forms the representative anatomical structure and contains the representative organs.
[0060] Figure 3 shows a detailed view of the capsule (6). Said capsule (6) has a structure made of transparent plexiglass material in the form of a cylinder closed at both ends. The front side of the capsule (6), corresponding to the application window (7), is closed with a hard and durable front disk (8) with an opening to allow manipulations. The connection of the front disc (8) to the capsule (6) is provided by hinges (9). There is a flexible cover on the front disc (8) that houses the anus (11) and vulva (12). The rear part of the capsule (6) is closed with a rear disc (22). Anatomical organs and structures are realistically imitated inside the capsule (6). The capsule (6) contains the rectum (15), pelvis (16), uterus (17), ovary (18) and urinary bladder (19). Said organs are carried by means of a carrier belt (14) hung on the carrier slides (13) fixed within the capsule (6). The rectum (15), which remains at the very back within the capsule (6), is fixed to the rear disc (22) with a fixing apparatus (21).
[0061] The pelvis (16) was obtained virtually from the real skeleton by three-dimensional scanning. The pelvis (16) is cut to fit into the capsule (6) and fixed in the correct position and angle. Figure 4 shows a representative view of the rectum (15) on the carrier belt (14). The rectum (15) has a thin, durable, flexible and transparent structure with a width and length suitable for rectal examination. The carrier belt (14) is also produced in an appropriate width and length, with a thin, durable, flexible and transparent structure. Figure 5 shows a detailed view of the uterus (17). The uterus (17) has two uterine horns (17.2), and pregnancy is created by placing the fetus (17.3) in one of these uterine horns (17.2). There is also a uterine body (17.1) within the body of the uterus (17). The uterus (17) is completely soft and realistic for palpation. The uterus (17) is produced from silicone by casting it in a three- dimensionally designed mold.
[0062] During palpation from the rectum (15), the contact of the rumen can be felt when coming forward. In order to simulate this, an air-filled structure was designed to replace the rumen located in the left and middle. The rumen design is flexible and appropriately sized, and it has a thick-walled, soft and tympanic structure that provides the feeling of the rumen when touched.
[0063] In the uterus (17), the membranes, fluid and embryo (offspring) required for pregnancy are placed in one of the uterine horns (17.2) so that they are embedded during casting. It is very important to imitate the embryo (baby), surrounding fluid and membranes for contrast images in the ultrasound images to be taken. For this procedure, pregnancy is imitated by filling a flexible membrane with liquid, suitable for the period (how many days pregnant), and placing an object of appropriate size, shape and density inside it. Among the surrounding tissues, the urinary bladder (19) is designed to be fluid-filled and thin-walled for accurate ultrasound imaging.
[0064] The structures in the capsule (6) are produced and mounted in realistic sizes, hardness and positions suitable for rectal palpation. Thus, it is suitable for developing manual dexterity with realistic anatomical features during palpation. One of the most important features of the pregnancy diagnostic simulator is the addition of ultrasound gel into the capsule (6) through the capsule hole (20) on the capsule (6) to obtain an ultrasound image and to obtain a clear image.
[0065] In the pregnancy diagnosis simulator of the invention, the practitioner's arm is advanced through the anus (11) and into the rectum (15) for palpation. The uterine corpus (17.1), uterine horns (17.2) and ovaries (18) are sensitively felt and examined with the palms and fingers downwards. The baby cow may not be detected because it is early in life. In this case, diagnosis can be made by detecting the corpus luteum, which symbolizes pregnancy, on the ovary (18).
[0066] For ultrasound examination in the pregnancy diagnosis simulator, the practitioner advances the probe held in the palm of the hand through the anus (11) and into the rectum (15). Guiding the probe downwards and in different positions, the uterus precisely visualizes and examines the cervix, uterine corpus (17.1), uterine horns (17.2) and ovaries (18) for different contrasting cavities, ducts and formations.
[0067] Diagnosis is made when you see the fetus (17.3) formed in the uterine horn (17.2) in the image.
