Powdered solid cosmetics

[0001] The present invention relates to a solid cosmetic product in powder form.

[0002] Known cosmetics containing surface-treated pigment particles include makeup cosmetics such as a makeup base, foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow, lipstick, eyeliner, or eyebrow pencil, and skin care cosmetics such as whitening cosmetics or UV care cosmetics.

[0003] As an example of surface-treated pigment particles used in such cosmetics, Patent Document 1 discloses a powder material for cosmetics that includes a powder for cosmetics that has been surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin.

[0005] However, through intensive research by the present inventors, it was found that when a solid cosmetic powder preparation was prepared by blending pigment particles that had been surface-treated with an ester compound as disclosed in Patent Document 1, the cosmetic preparation sometimes had poor spreadability when used.

[0006] On the other hand, for example, in the case of an oil-based solid cosmetic, that is, when the continuous phase is an oil, the dispersibility of pigment particles surface-treated with the above-mentioned ester compounds did not change significantly depending on the combination with the oil (see Reference Examples 1-1 to 1-3 described below).

[0007] The present invention seeks to improve the above-mentioned circumstances, and its object is to provide a solid cosmetic in powder form that contains surface-treated pigment particles with improved dispersibility and that has excellent spreadability during use.

[0008] The present invention that achieves the above object is as follows.

[0009] Aspect 1: A solid cosmetic preparation in powder form comprising pigment particles surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin, an extender pigment, and an oil component comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of ester oils and hydrocarbon oils. Aspect 2: The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to Aspect 1, wherein the ester compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of diglyceryl tetraisostearate, diglyceryl triisostearate, caprylic / capric triglyceride, glyceryl dilaurate, glyceryl triisostearate, decaglyceryl monoisostearate, and decaglyceryl diisostearate. Aspect 3: The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to Aspect 1 or 2, wherein the pigment particles comprise at least one selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide, yellow iron oxide, red iron oxide, black iron oxide, and zinc oxide. Aspect 4: The cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of Aspects 1 to 3, wherein the body pigment comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of talc, mica, kaolin, sericite, silica, boron nitride, bismuth oxychloride, cellulose, and barium sulfate. Aspect 5: The cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of Aspects 1 to 4, wherein the oil content is 5.0 to 20% by mass. Aspect 6: The cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of Aspects 1 to 5, wherein the pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound are contained in an amount of 0.01 to 30% by mass. Aspect 7: The cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of Aspects 1 to 6, wherein the body pigment content is 20 to 80% by mass. Aspect 8: The cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of Aspects 1 to 7, wherein the oil content comprises the ester oil. Aspect 9: The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of Aspects 1 to 8, which is a powdery foundation, face powder, eye shadow, blush, highlighter, or bronzer.

[0012] <<Solid Cosmetic in Powder>> The solid cosmetic in powder of the present invention (hereinafter also simply referred to as "the cosmetic of the present invention") is a solid cosmetic in powder form comprising pigment particles that have been surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin, an extender pigment, and an oil component that includes at least one selected from the group consisting of ester oils and hydrocarbon oils.

[0013] As mentioned above, through extensive research by the present inventors, it was found that in the case of solid cosmetic powders, when pigment particles surface-treated with an ester compound as disclosed in Patent Document 1 are blended, the cosmetic may not spread well when used. This is thought to be because the continuous phase of solid cosmetic powders is an air phase, making it difficult to disperse the surface-treated pigment particles and the extender pigment well in the presence of oil.

[0014] In response to this, the present inventors, through further intensive research, have found that by using a specific oil in combination with pigment particles that have been surface-treated with such an ester compound (hereinafter also referred to as "the ester compound according to the present invention") in a solid cosmetic powder, it is possible to improve the dispersibility of the pigment particles, and as a result, to obtain a cosmetic of the present invention that has excellent spreadability upon application. Without being limited by theory, it is presumed that this is due to the following reasons.

[0015] That is, in the case of a powder solid cosmetic product, i.e., when the continuous phase is an air phase, if the compatibility between the oil and the surface-treated pigment particles is poor, the oil is likely to clump. As a result, it is believed that the surface-treated pigment particles also tend to clump. In contrast, the specific oil used in the cosmetic product of the present invention is relatively compatible with the surface treatment agent for the pigment particles of the present invention (i.e., the ester compound of the present invention), meaning that the surface-treated pigment particles of the present invention are likely to adsorb the oil. This is believed to suppress the occurrence of oil clumping and improve the mutual dispersibility of the pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound of the present invention and the extender pigment in the presence of the oil.

[0016] In the present invention, a solid cosmetic in powder form refers to a cosmetic in which the air phase is the continuous phase and the powder is solidified with oil, resulting in a solid overall form. Therefore, in the solid cosmetic in powder form of the present invention, the powder constitutes the major portion of the entire composition. Claims

1. A powdered solid cosmetic comprising pigment particles surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin, an extender pigment, and an oil component containing at least one selected from the group consisting of ester oils and hydrocarbon oils.

2. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to claim 1, wherein the ester compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of diglyceryl tetraisostearate, diglyceryl triisostearate, caprylic / capric triglyceride, glyceryl dilaurate, glyceryl triisostearate, decaglyceryl monoisostearate, and decaglyceryl diisostearate.

3. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to claim 1, wherein the pigment particles comprise at least one selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide, yellow iron oxide, red iron oxide, black iron oxide, and zinc oxide.

4. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to claim 1, wherein the body pigment comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of talc, mica, kaolin, sericite, silica, boron nitride, bismuth oxychloride, cellulose, and barium sulfate.

5. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to claim 1, wherein the oil content is 5.0 to 20% by mass.

6. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to claim 1, wherein the content of the pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound is 0.01 to 30% by mass.

7. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to claim 1, wherein the content of said extender pigment is 20 to 80% by mass.

8. The solid cosmetic powder according to claim 1, wherein the oil component comprises the ester oil.

9. The solid cosmetic preparation in powder form according to any one of claims 1 to 8, which is a powdery foundation, face powder, eye shadow, blush, highlighter, or bronzer.
