Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to power headroom report. In one aspect, a UE receives, from a base station, first indication information for a serving cell which indicates N beams. N is more than 2. The UE transmits, to the base station, at least one PHR associated with M beams of the N beams. A PHR of the at least one PHR is based on a first beam of the M beams and a first PUSCH associated with the first beam.

[0063] The one or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a remote unit, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an internet-of-things (IoT) device, an internet-of-everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples. In some implementations, a UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communications system 100. In some other implementations, a UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communications system 100.

[0064] The one or more UEs 104 may be devices in different forms or having different capabilities. Some examples of UEs 104 are illustrated in Fig. 1. A UE 104 may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as the network entities 102, other UEs 104, or network equipment (e.g., the core network 106, the packet data network 108, a relay device, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or another network equipment) , as shown in Fig. 1. Additionally, or alternatively, a UE 104 may support communication with other network entities 102 or UEs 104, which may act as relays in the wireless communications system 100.

[0065] A UE 104 may also be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link 114. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface. A UE 104 may be an A-IoT device.

[0066] A network entity 102 may support communications with the core network 106, or with another network entity 102, or both. For example, a network entity 102 may interface with the core network 106 through one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The network entities 102 may communicate with each other over the backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an X2, Xn, or another network interface) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., between the network entities 102) . In some other implementations, the network entities 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 106) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or TRPs. A network entity 102 may be a reader for an A-IoT device.

[0067] In some implementations, a network entity 102 may be configured in a disaggregated architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack physically or logically distributed among two or more network entities 102, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open radio access network (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) , or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN) ) . For example, a network entity 102 may include one or more of a central unit (CU) , a distributed unit (DU) , a radio unit (RU) , a RAN intelligent controller (RIC) (e.g., a near-real time RIC (Near-RT RIC) , a non-real time RIC (Non-RT RIC) ) , a service management and orchestration (SMO) system, or any combination thereof.

[0068] An RU may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH) , a remote radio unit (RRU) , or a TRP. One or more components of the network entities 102 in a disaggregated RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entities 102 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations) . In some implementations, one or more network entities 102 of a disaggregated RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., a virtual CU (VCU) , a virtual DU (VDU) , a virtual RU (VRU) ) .

[0069] Split of functionality between a CU, a DU, and an RU may be flexible and may support different functionalities depending upon which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, radio frequency functions, and any combinations thereof) are performed at a CU, a DU, or an RU. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between a CU and a DU such that the CU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the DU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. In some implementations, the CU may host upper protocol layer (e.g., a layer 3 (L3) , a layer 2 (L2) ) functionality and signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) , service data adaption protocol (SDAP) , packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) ) . The CU may be connected to one or more DUs or RUs, and the one or more DUs or RUs may host lower protocol layers, such as a layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or an L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU 160.

[0070] Additionally, or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between a DU and an RU such that the DU may support one or more layers of the protocol stack and the RU may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU may support one or multiple different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs) . In some implementations, a functional split between a CU and a DU, or between a DU and an RU may be within a protocol layer (e.g., some functions for a protocol layer may be performed by one of a CU, a DU, or an RU, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by a different one of the CU, the DU, or the RU) .

[0071] A CU may be functionally split further into CU control plane (CU-CP) and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. A CU may be connected to one or more DUs via a midhaul communication link (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u) , and a DU may be connected to one or more RUs via a fronthaul communication link (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface) . In some implementations, a midhaul communication link or a fronthaul communication link may be implemented in accordance with an interface (e.g., a channel) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 102 that are in communication via such communication links.

[0072] The core network 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as registration management, mobility management, connection management, access authentication / authorization etc. for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more network entities 102 associated with the core network 106.

[0073] The core network 106 may communicate with the packet data network 108 over one or more backhaul links 116 (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The packet data network 108 may include an application server 118. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server 118. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the core network 106 via a network entity 102. The core network 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server 118 using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the core network 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the core network 106) .

[0074] In the wireless communications system 100, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0075] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0076] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0077] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0078] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (510 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the network entities 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the network entities 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0079] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0080] Fig. 2 illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 200 for power headroom report in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The process 200 may involve the UE 104 and the base station 102. For the purpose of discussion, the process 200 will be described with reference to Fig. 1. With the process 200, power headroom report for more than 2 beams is enhanced.

[0081] As shown in Fig. 2, the base station 102 may transmit 210, to the UE 104, first indication information for a serving cell which indicates N beams. Accordingly, the UE 104 may receive first indication information from the base station 102. In some implementations, N is more than 2. The UE 104 may transmit 220, to the base station 102, at least one PHR associated with M beams of the N beams. Accordingly, the base station 102 may receive the at least one PHR from the UE 104. In some implementations, a PHR of the at least one PHR is based on a first beam of the M beams and a first PUSCH associated with the first beam. The beam associated with one TRP may be an indicated beam which is applied for all PUSCH and physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission and some SRS resources associated with the TRP.

[0082] In some implementations, the at least one PHR may be applied for the serving cell, a CORESET pool of the serving cell (also referred to as a TRP pair) , or a beam. For the case that the at least one PHR is applied for the serving cell, the at least one PHR may be associated with the N beams, i.e. M = N. For the case that the at least one PHR is applied for the CORESET pool, the M beams may be corresponding to the CORESET pool. For the case that the at least one PHR is applied for the beam, M = 1. In some implementations, the at least one PHR may be triggered per serving cell, per CORESET pool, or per beam. It is to be understood that the UE 104 may, for example, transmit a PHR for each CORESET pool of the serving cell based on a trigger per serving cell.

[0083] In some implementations, N is 4, and 2 beams of the N beams are associated with one CORESET pool index (CORESETPoolIndex) value and the other 2 beams of the N beams are associated with another CORESET pool index value.

[0084] For example, the PHR for the serving cell may be associated with 4 beams of 4 beams (i.e. M = 4 and N = 4) . For another example, the PHR for the CORESET pool may be associated with 2 beams of 4 beams (i.e. M = 2 and N = 4) . For another example, the PHR for the beam may be associated with 1 beam of 4 beams (i.e. M = 1 and N = 4) .

[0085] In some implementations, the PHR is transmitted in a PHR MAC CE in a slot, and the first PUSCH is in the slot. In some implementations, multiple PHRs based on a same trigger may be transmitted in a same PHR MAC CE, and PHRs based on different triggers may be transmitted in different PHR MAC CEs but may optionally be transmitted in a same PUSCH.

[0086] In some implementations, the first PUSCH is one of at least one PUSCH associated with P beams of the M beams, and the first beam is one of the P beams. In this case, the PHR may be referred to as an actual PHR (A-PHR) . In some other implementations, the first PUSCH is a reference PUSCH. In this case, the PHR may be referred to as a virtual PHR (V-PHR) . In some implementations, definitions of the PHR may be same as 5G specification.

[0087] In some implementations, the UE 104 may transmit, to the base station 102, second indication information for the first beam. In some implementations, the second indication information may be transmitted in a PHR MAC CE. In some implementations, the second indication information may comprise an indication of the first beam, an indication of a CORESET pool index associated with the first beam, an indication of the first beam associated with the CORESET pool index, or any combination thereof.

[0088] For example, for a N = 4 scenario, i.e. there are 4 beams in the serving cell, the second indication information may comprise 2 bits to indicate the first beam of the 4 beams. For example, a first bit of the 2 bits may indicate a CORESETPoolIndex value associated with the first beam, and a second bit of the 2 bits may indicate which beam of two beams associated with the indicated CORESETPoolIndex value.

[0089] In some implementations, the second indication information may indicate part of information of the first beam that is selected by the UE, and other part of the information that is determined based on pre-defined rules may be omitted. For example, if the first beam can only be selected from 2 beams of a CORESETPoolIndex 0, then the second indication information may only indicate which of the 2 beams is selected.

[0090] There are several ways for determine the first beam and / or the first PUSCH. In some implementations, the UE 104 may determine the first PUSCH among the at least one PUSCH, and / or determine the first beam among the P beams.

[0091] In some implementations, the UE 104 may firstly determine the first PUSCH. If there is only one actual PUSCH, the first PUSCH is the actual PUSCH. If there are multiple actual PUSCHs, the UE 104 may determine the first PUSCH among the at least one actual PUSCH. In some implementations, the first PUSCH may be selected by the UE 104. In some implementations, the first PUSCH may be an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH. In some implementations, there may be multiple earliest actual PUSCHs, the UE 104 may determine the first beam among beams associated with the multiple earliest actual PUSCHs. In some implementations, the first beam may be selected by the UE 104. In some implementations, the first beam may be a beam with highest priority of the beams associated with the multiple earliest actual PUSCHs. Since a beam may only associated with one PUSCH, the first PUSCH may therefore be determined.

[0092] If there is only one beam associated with the determined first PUSCH, then the first beam may therefore be determined. If there are more than one beams associated with the determined first PUSCH, the UE 104 may further determine the first beam among the more than one beams. In some implementations, the first beam may be selected by the UE 104 where the first beam will be indicated by the second indication information. In some implementations, the first beam may be a beam with highest priority of at least one beam associated with the first PUSCH.

[0093] In some implementations, the priority of the first beam is associated with an index of the first beam. For example, the smallest index may have the highest priority. In some implementations, the priority of the first beam is associated with a CORESET pool index associated with the first beam. For example, the smallest CORESET pool index may have the highest priority.

[0094] In some other implementations, the UE 104 may firstly determine the first beam. In some implementations, the first beam may be selected by the UE 104 where the first beam will be indicated by the second indication information. In some implementations, the first beam may be a beam with highest priority of the P beams. Since a beam may only associated with one PUSCH, the first PUSCH may therefore be determined.

[0095] In some implementations, the first PUSCH may be a reference PUSCH based on a determination that no actual PUSCH exists. In this case, an actual PUSCH may have higher priority to be used for the PHR than a reference PUSCH. In this way, higher precision may be achieved. In some implementations, the UE 104 may further determine the first beam among the M beams. In some implementations, the first beam is a beam with highest priority of the M beams.

[0096] In some implementations, the UE 104 may receive, from the base station 102, third indication information of a number of PHRs. The third indication information may be carried by an RRC parameter. For example, for PHRs triggered per serving cell, the number of the PHRs may be 1, 2, or 4; for PHRs triggered per CORESET pool, the number of the PHRs may be 1 or 2.

[0097] For example 1, there is one PHR for the serving cell associated with 4 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. If there is only one actual PUSCH which is associated with one indicated beam in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then an A-PHR is reported according to the actual PUSCH associated with the indicated beam. And the second indication information may indicate the indicated beam of the actual PUSCH. It is to be understood that the indicated beam is the only choice and the UE 104 does not need to select the indicated beam. If there is only one actual PUSCH which is associated with two indicated beams in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then the UE 104 may determine an A-PHR according to one of the indicated beams of the actual PUSCH. And the second indication information may indicate one indicated beam associated with the actual PUSCH. If there are two actual PUSCHs associated with at least two indicated beams, then the UE 104 may determine an A-PHR according to one actual PUSCH of the two actual PUSCHs. And the second indication information may indicate one indicated beam associated with the actual PUSCH. If there is no actual PUSCH in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a V-PHR is reported according to a reference PUSCH associated with one indicated beam of the four indicated beams where the indicated beam is indicated by the second indication information.

[0098] For example 2, there is one PHR for the serving cell associated with 4 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. If there is at least one actual PUSCH in a slot where PHR MAC CE is transmitted, a A-PHR is determined according to the indicated beam with a highest priority of all indicated beams associated with the at least one actual PUSCH and the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the indicated beam with the highest priority. A priority of an indicated beam of 4 indicated beams is determined according to the index of the indicated beam. And the first indicated beam has a highest priority, the second indicated beam has a second highest priority, the third indicated beam has a third highest priority and the fourth indicated beam has a lowest priority. If there is no actual PUSCH in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with a first indicated beam of the four indicated beams.

[0099] For example 3, there is one PHR for the serving cell associated with 4 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. If there is at least one actual PUSCH in a slot where PHR MAC CE is transmitted, an A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH and an indicated beam with a highest priority of the earliest actual PUSCH. If there is more than one earliest actual PUSCHs in the slot, then the earliest actual PUSCH for the A-PHR determination is an actual PUSCH of the more than one earliest actual PUSCHs associated with an indicated beam with a highest priority of all associated indicated beams of the more than one earliest actual PUSCHs. A priority of an indicated beam of 4 indicated beams is determined according to the index of the indicated beam. And the first indicated beam has a highest priority, the second indicated beam has a second highest priority, the third indicated beam has a third highest priority and the fourth indicated beam has a lowest priority. If there is no one actual PUSCH in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with a first indicated beam of the four indicated beams.

[0100] Fig. 3 illustrates an example of relationship of PUSCHs and beams in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. Four indicated beams are Beam 1-4 respectively and Beam 1 and 2 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and Beam 3 and 4 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1. PUSCH 1 associated with Beam 3 and Beam 4 and PUSCH 2 associated with Beam 1 and Beam 2 are actual PUSCHs in slot n where a PHR MAC CE is transmitted.

[0101] According to example 1, an actual PHR can be determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 3, PUSCH 1 and Beam 4, PUSCH 2 and Beam 1 or PUSCH 2 and Beam 2 which is selected by UE. Therefore, if the second indication information in the PHR MAC CE indicates the first indicated beam which is Beam 1, then the actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 1.

[0102] According to example 2, an actual PHR is determined according to an actual PUSCH associated with an indicated beam with a highest priority, therefore, the actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 1 which is the first indicated beam of PUSCH 2 and has a highest priority of all associated beams of the two actual PUSCHs.

[0103] According to example 3, an actual PHR is determined according to the earliest PUSCH in slot n, therefore, the actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 3 which is the first indicated beam associated with PUSCH 1 who has a higher priority.

[0104] For example 4, there is one PHR for a CORESET pool index associated with 2 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH. If the earliest actual PUSCH is associated with two indicated beams, the A-PHR is calculated according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of the two indicated beams; otherwise, the A-PHR is calculated according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the indicated beam. If there is no actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value.

[0105] For example 5, there is one PHR for a CORESET pool index associated with 2 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. The second indication information (e.g. 1 bit) may indicate the PHR associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value is associated with which indicate beam of two indicated beams of the CORESETPoolIndex value. If there is no actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with one indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value. And the indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value is indicated in the second indication information. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then A-PHR is determined according to one actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH. And the second indication information (e.g. 1 bit) may indicate that the A-PHR is associated with which indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value.

[0106] For example 6, there are two PHRs for the serving cell associated with 4 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least two indicated beams of four indicated beams in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then two A-PHRs are determined according to two indicated beams of the at least two indicated beams. If there is at least one actual PUSCH which is associated with two indicated beams of a same CORESETPoolIndex value in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a first A-PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH which is at least associated with the first indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value and the first indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value, and a second A-PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH which is at least associated with the second indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value and the second indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value.

[0107] If there are at least two actual PUSCHs associated two CORESETPoolIndex values in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then a first A-PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and a second A-PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1. If the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 is associated with two indicated beams, then the first A-PHR is calculated according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and the first indicated beam associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0; otherwise, the first A-PHR is calculated according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and the indicated beam associated with the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0. If the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 is associated with two indicated beams, then the second A-PHR is calculated according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 and the first indicated beam associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1; otherwise, the second A-PHR is calculated according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 and the indicated beam associated with the earliest actual PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1.

[0108] If there are only actual PUSCHs associated with one indicated beam in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then an A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH and the indicated beam of the earliest actual PUSCH. The earliest actual PUSCH is associated with one CORESETPoolIndex value of two CORESETPoolIndex values, then a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam associated with the other CORESETPoolIndex value of the two CORESETPoolIndex values. And the first and second PHR is associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and 1 respectively.

[0109] If there is no actual PUSCH in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then two V-PHR is determined, where a first and second V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0 and 1 respectively.

[0110] For example 7, there are two PHRs for the serving cell associated with 4 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. There are 2 bits for each of the two PHRs to indicate the PHR is associated with which indicated beam of the four indicated beams. For example, the first bit of the 2 bits indicates the PHR is associated with which CORESETPoolIndex value and the second bit of the 2 bits indicates the PHR is associated with which indicated beams of two indicated beams associated with the indicated CORESETPoolIndex value.

[0111] If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least two indicated beams of four indicated beams in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then two A-PHR are determined according to two indicated beams of the at least two indicated beams. And for each PHR, 2 bits in the PHR MAC CE may indicate the PHR is associated with which indicated beam of the four indicated beams.

[0112] If there is only actual PUSCH associated with one indicated beam in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then an A-PHR is determined according to the actual PUSCH and the indicated beam of the actual PUSCH. The 2 bits for the A-PHR may indicate the indicated beam in the PHR MAC CE. The actual PUSCH is associated with one CORESETPoolIndex value of two CORESETPoolIndex values, then a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with one indicated beam of two indicated beams associated with the other CORESETPoolIndex value of the two CORESETPoolIndex values. The 2 bits for the V-PHR may indicate the indicated beam for the V-PHR calculation in the PHR MAC CE. And the first and second PHR is associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and 1 respectively.

[0113] If there is no actual PUSCH in a slot where the PHR MAC CE is transmitted, then two V-PHR is determined. A first V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with one indicated beam of two indicated beams of CORESETPoolIndex 0, and 2 bits for the first V-PHR may indicate the indicated beam for the first V-PHR calculation in the PHR MAC CE. A second V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with one indicated beam of two indicated beams of CORESETPoolIndex 1, and 2 bits for the second V-PHR will indicate the indicated beam for the second V-PHR calculation in the PHR MAC CE.

[0114] Fig. 4 illustrates another example of relationship of PUSCHs and beams in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. Four indicated beams are Beam 1-4 respectively and Beam 1 and 2 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and Beam 3 and 4 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1. PUSCH 1 associated with Beam 1 and PUSCH 2 associated with Beam 2 are actual PUSCHs in slot n where a PHR MAC CE is transmitted.

[0115] According to example 4, an actual PHR associated with CORESEPoolIndex 0 is determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 1, while a virtual PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with Beam 3 and Beam 3.

[0116] According to example 5, an actual PHR associated with CORESEPoolIndex 0 can be determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 1 or PUSCH 2 and Beam 2 which is selected by UE. And 1 bit indication for the actual PHR in the PHR MAC CE may indicate the actual PHR is associated with Beam 1 or Beam 2. If the 1 bit indication indicates the actual PHR is associated with Beam 1, then the actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 1; if it indicates the actual PHR is associated with Beam 2, then the actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2. And while a virtual PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with Beam 3 and Beam 3 or a reference PUSCH associated with Beam 4 and Beam 4 which is determined by UE. And 1 bit indication for the virtual PHR indicates Beam 3 or Beam 4 for the virtual PHR.

[0117] According to example 6, a first actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 1, and a second actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 2.

[0118] According to example 7, since there are two actual PUSCHs associated with two indicated beams, therefore, a first and second actual PHR is determined according to (PUSCH1 and Beam 1) and (PUSCH 2 and Beam 2) . And the 2 bits indication for the first actual PHR in the PHR MAC CE may indicate the first beam which is Beam 1 and the 2 bits indication for the second actual PHR in the PHR MAC CE may indicate the second beam which is Beam 2.

[0119] For example 8, there are four PHRs for the serving cell associated with 4 indicated beams and triggered per serving cell. The first, second, third and fourth PHR is associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0, the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0, the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1 and the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1 respectively.

[0120] If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0, then an A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0 and the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0; otherwise, a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0.

[0121] If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0, then an A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0 and the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0; otherwise, a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 0.

[0122] If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1, then an A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1 and the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1; otherwise, a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1.

[0123] If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1, then an A-PHR is determined according to the earliest actual PUSCH associated with the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1 and the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1; otherwise, a V-PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the second indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1.

[0124] Fig. 5 illustrates another example of relationship of PUSCHs and beams in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. Four indicated beams are Beam 1-4 respectively and Beam 1 and 2 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and Beam 3 and 4 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1. PUSCH 1 associated with Beam 2 and PUSCH 2 associated with Beam 3 are actual PUSCHs in slot n where a PHR MAC CE is transmitted. A first PHR which is a virtual PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with Beam 1 and Beam 1. A second PHR which is an actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 2. A third PHR which is an actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 3. A fourth PHR which is a virtual PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with Beam 4 and Beam 4.

[0125] For example 9, there is one PHR for a CORESET pool associated with 2 indicated beams and triggered per CORESET pool. One bit indication is used to indicate the PHR is associated with which one of the two CORESETPoolIndex values. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value which is associated with a same indicated beam in the slot, an actual PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH and the indicated beam. And the 1 bit indication should indicate the indicated beam. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value which is associated with two indicated beams in the slot, an actual PHR is determined according to an actual PUSCH associated with one indicated beam of the two indicated beams determined by UE and the indicated beam. And the 1 bit indication indicates the indicated beam. If there is no actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot, a virtual PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with one indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value determined by UE and the indicated beam. And the 1 bit indication indicates the indicated beam.

[0126] For example 10, there is one PHR for a CORESET pool associated with 2 indicated beams and triggered per CORESET pool. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value which is associated with two indicated beams in the slot, an actual PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH associated with at least the first indicated beam of two indicated beams associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value and the first indicated beam. If there is no actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot, a virtual PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with a first indicated beam of two indicated beams associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value and the first indicated beam.

[0127] For example 11, there is one PHR for a CORESET pool associated with 2 indicated beams and triggered per CORESET pool. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value which is associated with two indicated beams in the slot, an actual PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH and the indicated beam of the earliest actual PUSCH if it is only associated with one indicated beam or the first indicated beam of the earliest actual PUSCH if it is associated with two indicated beams. If there is no actual PUSCH associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value in the slot, a virtual PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with a first indicated beam of two indicated beams associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value and the first indicated beam.

[0128] For example 12, there are two PHRs for a CORESET pool associated with 2 beams and triggered per CORESET pool. One bit indication is used to indicate the PHR is associated with which one of the two CORESETPoolIndex values. The first and second PHR is associated with the first and second indicated beam associated with the CORESETPoolIndex value. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least the first indicated beam in the slot, an actual PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least the first indicated beam and the first indicated beam. If there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least the second indicated beam in the slot, an actual PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least the second indicated beam and the second indicated beam.

[0129] Fig. 6 illustrates another example of relationship of PUSCHs and beams in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. Four indicated beams are Beam 1-4 respectively and Beam 1 and 2 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and Beam 3 and 4 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1. PUSCH 1 associated with Beam 2, PUSCH 2 associated with Beam 3 and Beam 4 and PUSCH 3 associated with Beam 1 are actual PUSCHs in slot n where a first and second PHR MAC CE associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and 1 respectively is transmitted.

[0130] According to example 9, for the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 in a first PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 0, an actual PHR is determined as PUSCH 1 and Beam 2 or PUSCH 3 and Beam 1 which is determined by UE. And the 1 bit indication indicates Beam 1 or Beam 2 for the PHR. If Beam 1 is indicated, then the PHR is determined by PUSCH 3 and Beam 1. If Beam 2 is indicated, then the PHR is determined by PUSCH 1 and Beam 2. For the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 in a second PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 1, an actual PHR is determined as PUSCH 2 and Beam 3, or PUSCH 2 and Beam 4 which is determined by UE. And the 1 bit indication indicates one indicated beam of two indicated beams of CORESETPoolIndex 1 which can be Beam 3 or Beam 4.

[0131] According to example 10, for the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 in a first PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 0, an actual PHR is determined as PUSCH 3 and Beam 1 since Beam 1 is the first indicated beam associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0. For the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 in a second PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 1, an actual PHR is determined as PUSCH 2 and Beam 3 since Beam 3 is the first indicated beam of CORESETPoolIndex 1.

[0132] According to example 11, for the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 in a first PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 0, an actual PHR is determined as PUSCH 1 and Beam 2 since PUSCH 1 is the earliest PUSCH associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0.

[0133] According to example 12, for the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 in a first PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 0, a first actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 3 and Beam 1 and a second actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 2. For the PHR associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1 in a second PHR MAC CE where 1 bit indicates the PHR is associated CORSETPoolIndex 1, a first actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 3 and a second actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 4.

[0134] For example 13, there is one PHR for a beam and triggered per beam. Two bits indication is used to indicate the PHR is associated with which one of four indicated beams. For a PHR associated with one indicated beam in a PHR MAC CE, if there is at least one actual PUSCH associated with at least the indicated beam, then an actual PHR is determined according to an earliest actual PUSCH of the at least one PUSCH and the indicated beam; if there is no actual PUSCH associated with the indicated beam, then a virtual PHR is determined according to a reference PUSCH associated with the indicated beam and the indicated beam.

[0135] Fig. 7 illustrates another example of relationship of PUSCHs and beams in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. Four indicated beams are Beam 1-4 respectively and Beam 1 and 2 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 0 and Beam 3 and 4 are associated with CORESETPoolIndex 1. Two PHR MAC CEs may be transmitted in slot n where only PHRs associated with two TRPs associated with the first and third indicated beams are triggered. PUSCH 1 associated with Beam 1 and PUSCH 2 associated with Beam 3 are actual PUSCHs in slot n. Therefore, a PHR in a PHR MAC CE associated with the first indicated beam (Beam 1) which is an actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 1 and Beam 1. And 2 bits indication in the PHR MAC CE indicates the PHR in the MAC CE is associated with the first indicated beam which is Beam 1. A PHR in another PHR MAC CE associated with the third indicated beam (Beam 3) which is an actual PHR is determined according to PUSCH 2 and Beam 3. And 2 bits indication in the PHR MAC CE indicates the PHR in the MAC CE is associated with the third indicated beam which is Beam 3.
