Abstract
Description
Antibacterial bristles, and preparation method and application thereof TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present application relates to the technical field of fiber materials, in particular to an antibacterial bristle, and a preparation method and application thereof. BACKGROUND
[0002] Cosmetic brushes are mainly composed of a brush handle and bristles, and common types include powder brushes, blush brushes, eyebrow brushes, and eye shadow brushes. By using the bristles to adsorb powder, paste, or liquid cosmetics, the amount of cosmetics can be controlled, and the cosmetics can be better integrated with the skin. Since the bristles need to directly contact hair, skin, and other parts while adsorbing cosmetics, sebum and dirt can easily adhere to the bristles, causing the breeding of bacteria and other microorganisms. If the cosmetic brushes themselves contain bacteria, mold, and other microorganisms, skin problems or infections can occur. Some studies have shown that a large number of bacteria and other microorganisms can parasitize on uncleaned cosmetic brushes, which can include pathogenic bacteria, and long-term use of such cosmetic brushes can cause skin problems, allergic reactions, or infectious diseases.
[0003] In order to improve the safety and hygiene of people using cosmetic brushes, researchers have endeavored to develop cosmetic brushes with antibacterial functions, such as effectively reducing the breeding of bacteria by adding antibacterial agents to the cosmetic brush materials, thereby maintaining the hygiene of the cosmetic brushes. Antibacterial agents include two categories of metal-based antibacterial agents and non-metal-based antibacterial agents. Among them, metal-based antibacterial agents are suitable for use in high-hygiene environments because the antibacterial cosmetic brushes prepared by metal-based antibacterial agents have stable and long-lasting antibacterial performance. However, metal-based antibacterial agents can cause skin allergies in some people, and the bristles are relatively hard, which is not suitable for all skin types. Non-metal-based antibacterial agents have less impact on the use of cosmetic brushes, and it is easier to achieve a soft and comfortable texture, which is more suitable for sensitive skin. However, such cosmetic brushes are difficult to achieve long-lasting and efficient antibacterial effects, and the antibacterial performance is unstable, requiring regular replacement or maintenance.
[0004] Therefore, there is a need to develop an antibacterial cosmetic brush with good antibacterial properties and wide applicability. SUMMARY
[0005] The present application aims to at least solve one of the technical problems existing in the prior art. To this end, the present application provides a preparation method of antibacterial bristles, which improves the antibacterial properties and durability of the bristles, and does not require the addition of metal-based antibacterial agents, thereby having wide applicability.
[0006] The present application also provides antibacterial bristles prepared by the above preparation method.
[0007] The present application also provides the application of the above antibacterial bristles.
[0008] Specifically, the first aspect of the present application relates to a preparation method of antibacterial bristles, comprising the following steps:
[0009] S1: dissolving chitosan in an acidic aqueous solution to obtain a chitosan solution; dissolving cyanuric chloride in a solvent to obtain a cyanuric chloride solution;
[0010] S2: adding the bristles after oxygen plasma treatment into the chitosan solution, adding the cyanuric chloride solution, reacting at pH 6-7 and temperature ≤15℃, and separating the bristles after reaction to obtain modified bristles;
[0011] S3: immersing the modified bristles in a quaternary ammonium salt solution for treatment, and drying to obtain the antibacterial bristles.
[0012] The preparation method of the antibacterial bristles according to the first aspect of the embodiments of the present application has at least the following beneficial effects:
[0013] The oxygen plasma treatment on the bristles activates free radicals by using oxygen plasma to introduce oxygen-containing groups such as hydroxyl groups on the fiber surface, improve the surface activity of the fiber, and promote the reaction between cyanuric chloride and the activated hydroxyl groups on the fiber surface. At the same time, cyanuric chloride can react with the hydroxyl groups of chitosan, and then chitosan can be firmly combined on the fiber surface, which improves the defect that the antibacterial agent is weakly combined with the fiber surface. Oxygen plasma treatment can also increase the roughness of the fiber surface, improve the wettability of the fiber surface, and help the adsorption of the antibacterial agent (chitosan and quaternary ammonium salt) on the fiber surface.
[0014] Chitosan and quaternary ammonium salt both have antibacterial activity. The reaction of cyanuric chloride with chitosan and the hydroxyl groups on the fiber surface is beneficial to the adsorption of chitosan on the fiber surface, which can further promote the adsorption of quaternary ammonium salt on the fiber surface (for example, more hydrogen bond interactions are formed, and chitosan itself has certain adhesion), and significantly improve the antibacterial property.
[0015] This method does not need to add metal-based antibacterial agents, can better meet the use needs of different groups of people, and has simple process, wide raw material sources, and easy industrial production.

[0084] 5. Dip the brush hair treated in step 3 into the quaternary ammonium salt solution in step 4, stay for 1 min, take out and drain, and the drained liquid is recycled for the dipping treatment, and the obtained brush hair is dried at 70℃, and the brush hair is obtained.
[0085] Comparative Example 2 (without adding cyanuric chloride modification)
[0086] An antibacterial brush hair is prepared, and the preparation method comprises the following steps:
[0087] 1. Add chitosan into an acetic acid aqueous solution (5wt%), heat to 50℃ to dissolve, and prepare a chitosan solution with a mass concentration of 2wt%.
[0088] 2. Take nylon brush hair, and perform oxygen plasma treatment, and the treatment parameters are: 2500Pa oxygen atmosphere, voltage 200V, and treatment time 10min.
[0089] 3. Dip the brush hair treated by the oxygen plasma treatment into the chitosan solution, and the solid-liquid ratio is 8g / 100mL, add sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH to 8, slowly stir (100rpm) for 3h, centrifuge, take the precipitate, wash with deionized water, and then drain.
[0090] 4. Mix the quaternary ammonium salt antibacterial agent Bi-ome AM5 (containing a solvent methanol aqueous solution, mainly water) and Devatec NA (containing a solvent water) to make the mass ratio of dimethyl octadecyl [3- (trimethoxysilyl) propyl] ammonium chloride and polydimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride in them 3:1, add deionized water to adjust the total concentration to 5wt%, and obtain a quaternary ammonium salt solution.
[0091] 5. Dip the brush hair treated in step 3 into the quaternary ammonium salt solution in step 4, stay for 1 min, take out and drain, and the drained liquid is recycled for the dipping treatment, and the obtained brush hair is dried at 70℃, and the brush hair is obtained.
[0092] The bacteriostatic rates of the brush hairs in Example 1, Example 2 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 are shown in Table 1.
[0093] Table 1
[0094] It can be known from the above effects that the brush hair prepared in the examples has a higher bacteriostatic rate, good bacteriostatic durability, and better antibacterial performance.
[0095] From the comparison of Comparative Example 1 and Example 1, it can be seen that the antibacterial rate and its persistence are significantly reduced without oxygen plasma treatment, which may be due to the decrease of active hydroxyl groups on the fiber surface, and the lack of surface roughening effect of oxygen plasma, affecting the adhesion of chitosan and quaternary ammonium salt on the fiber surface.
[0096] From the performance comparison of Comparative Example 2 and Example 1, it can be seen that the antibacterial persistence is dramatically reduced without the addition of cyanuric chloride modification, which may be due to the lack of cross-linking and bridging effect of cyanuric chloride, affecting the interfacial adhesion. However, the antibacterial rate of Comparative Example 2 is higher than that of Comparative Example 1, indicating that oxygen plasma treatment may be beneficial to the adhesion of chitosan and quaternary ammonium salt (higher fiber surface energy and increased surface area after roughening).
[0097] In summary, the antibacterial bristles prepared in this example have excellent antibacterial properties and persistent antibacterial effect, which can better meet the requirements of persistent antibacterial of cosmetic brushes, ensure long-term use hygiene, and do not need to add metal antibacterial agents, making it more widely applicable to a wider population.
[0098] The above has made a detailed description of the embodiments of the present application, but the present application is not limited to the above embodiments, and various changes can be made within the scope of knowledge possessed by those skilled in the art without departing from the purpose of the present application.
