Description

Method for manufacturing awning fabric with excellent strength, water repellency, water pressure resistance and light fastness

[0001] The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an awning fabric having excellent strength, water repellency, water pressure resistance, and light fastness, and relates to a method for manufacturing an awning fabric by applying a dope-dyed polyester or dope-dyed acrylic fiber material to manufacture an air-jet core yarn for improving strength and applying a PU coating to impart water pressure resistance and water repellency.

[0002] Polyester filaments are commonly used as the fiber material for typical awning fabrics due to strength issues. However, this reduces the natural feel of the fabric and makes it feel less soft to the touch. Consequently, products developed using spun yarns instead of filaments have been released. However, these products are less strong than filaments and have a high hairiness, making it difficult to form a uniform film when coated with PU. Consequently, most filaments are still used. Some ATY products, which are processed filaments, are used to impart a more natural feel. However, these products do not offer the same natural feel as spun yarns.

[0003] Therefore, in the present invention, a technical task is to provide a high-strength awning fabric that provides a high-strength awning fabric with water-repellent and water-pressure-resistant performance by providing an air-jet core yarn in which one of high-strength long fibers, such as dope-dyed polyester or dope-dyed nylon filament, dope-dyed polyester, dope-dyed nylon filament, and DTY yarn thereof, is used as a core yarn to provide strength similar to that of a filament, and a short fiber composed of dope-dyed polyester or dope-dyed acrylic is covered on the core yarn to improve strength, and then weaving the same to manufacture a fabric and then applying a water-repellent and PU coating.

[0004] Therefore, in the present invention, a step of using one of a dyed polyester, a dyed nylon filament, and a DTY yarn thereof as a core yarn, manufacturing a sliver with a dyed polyester fiber or a dyed acrylic fiber, and then subjecting the sliver to a softening process, and then supplying the sliver to a Murata Vortex spinning machine to create an air jet core yarn covering the core yarn;

[0005] A step of manufacturing a fabric using the above air jet core yarn; and

[0006] A method for manufacturing an awning fabric having excellent strength, water repellency, water pressure resistance and light fastness is provided, characterized by performing a pretreatment step, a water repellent treatment step and a PU coating step on the above fabric.

[0007] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.

[0008] The present invention comprises the steps of manufacturing an air jet core yarn using one of a dyed polyester filament, a dyed nylon filament, and a DTY yarn thereof as a core yarn, covering the core yarn with a dyed polyester fiber or a dyed acrylic fiber, manufacturing a fabric suitable for an awning fabric using the manufactured air jet core yarn, and manufacturing an awning fabric by subjecting the manufactured fabric to a water-repellent and PU coating step.

[0009] First, in the manufacturing step of the airjet core yarn, the fiber material that constitutes the core is either a dope-dyed polyester, a dope-dyed nylon filament, or a DTY (draw textured yarn), and the airjet core yarn is manufactured by covering the core filament with dope-dyed polyester fiber or dope-dyed acrylic fiber. The weight ratio of the core filament fiber to the covering staple fiber is appropriately 15 to 40% by weight for the core and 60 to 85% by weight for the covering staple fiber. When the core exceeds 40% by weight, the staple fiber covering the core filament is easily peeled off, and when it is less than 15% by weight, the effect of improving the strength is small. The tension between the filament feed section of the Murata Vortex spinning machine and the front roller, which is the dope-dyed polyester, dope-dyed nylon filament, or DTY yarn thereof, should have good elongation, so that the staple fibers to be covered are evenly wrapped around the filaments forming the core. If the filament tension, the feed ratio, is less than 0.75 times, the covering is easily peeled off from the core, and if it exceeds 0.85 times, the core is easily pulled out of the spun yarn. In addition, the dope-dyed polyester, dope-dyed nylon filament, or DTY yarn used as the core should be 50 to 200 denier. The staple fibers covering the core should be dope-dyed polyester fibers or dope-dyed acrylic fibers with a fiber length of 37 to 53 mm and a fineness of 0.9 to 2.5 denier. To provide high fastness, the filaments of the screening agent and the single fibers of the covering part are used as a dyed fiber material to improve the light fastness and washing fastness.

[0010] The dyed polyester fiber or dyed acrylic fiber forming the covering part can form a uniform covering by increasing the amount of air supplied to impart twisting compared to general fiber materials in order to stably cover the examination. The air nozzle should have a diameter of 0.5 mm and the air pressure should be 0.5 MPa, and the air supply amount should preferably be 50 to 60 ℓ / min.

[0011] The air jet core yarn manufactured in this way preferably has a fineness of Nec 8 to 30 in the case of single yarn, and when used as a double yarn to improve the strength of the fabric, it is preferably has a fineness of Nec 10 / 2 to 60 / 2.

[0012] Afterwards, a step of manufacturing a fabric using the above air jet core yarn is performed, and the fabric structure can be manufactured into any one of plain weave, rib stop plain weave, twill weave, and twill rib weave. In order to improve the strength of the fabric, plain weave and rib stop plain weave are preferable, and in order to provide a clear appearance and soft touch, twill weave is preferable. The basis weight of the fabric is preferably 250 to 350 g / ㎡. If it is less than 250 g / ㎡, the tear strength of the fabric is greatly reduced, and if it exceeds 350 g / ㎡, the strength is improved, but the fabric is heavy, so it is not suitable as an awning fabric.

[0013] Afterwards, a pretreatment step, a water-repellent step, and a PU coating step are performed on the fabric.

[0014] When using single-filament airjet core yarns, sizing is essential during the weaving preparation process to compensate for yarn breakage, ensuring uniform water repellency and PU coating. 3 g / L of desizing agent is sufficient, and processing is performed at a speed of 50 m / min and a pick-up rate of 80%. When using single-filament airjet core yarns as double-twisted yarns, sizing is not necessary during the weaving preparation process, so desizing is not necessary during the dyeing pretreatment stage.

[0015] After the desizing process is completed, it goes through a refining bleaching process, and 1g / L of metal stabilizer, H2O2 Use 3g / L to remove sufficient impurities from the fabric.

[0016] The water-repellent stage involves treating a preparation composed of 2-12% by weight of a water-repellent agent and 2-6% by weight of a catalyst with a pickup rate of 50-80%, followed by heat treatment at 130-180°C. Below 130°C, sufficient curing is not achieved, resulting in poor performance. High temperatures above 180°C degrade the fabric's feel.

[0017] After the water-repellent treatment, coating is performed. To ensure that the coating agent forms a uniform water-repellent film on the fabric, a calendar treatment is first performed at 60℃ to 130℃. If the calendar temperature is below 60℃, the coating agent cannot form a uniform water-repellent film on the fabric. If it exceeds 130℃, the fabric's feel is reduced and the color of the coated area changes.

[0018] Fabrics that have undergone calendaring undergo a PU coating step. The coating agent is composed of 48-55% by weight urethane, 5-15% by weight toluene, and the remainder DMF. This coating is applied using a knife. After drying, the coated fabric proceeds to the tendering process.

[0019] In this way, the manufacturing of the awning fabric of the present invention having excellent strength, water repellency, water pressure resistance and light fastness is completed in steps.

[0020] Therefore, according to the present invention, an awning fabric having higher strength than a fabric composed of general spun yarn and having water repellency and water pressure resistance suitable for outdoor use can be provided.

[0021] Fig. 1 is a photograph of the awning fabric of the present invention.

[0022] The following examples provide non-limiting examples of a method for manufacturing an awning fabric having excellent strength, water repellency, water pressure resistance and light fastness.

[0023] [Example 1]

[0024] A core yarn of 10 counts with a composition ratio of 28 wt% polyester and 72 wt% acrylic was manufactured by spinning using 150 denier polyester filament as a core yarn and 38 mm 1.5 denier acrylic fiber as a single fiber covering the core yarn using the air jet spinning method.

[0025] Using the above core yarn, a plain weave fabric with a warp density of 74 counts / inch and a weft density of 36 counts / inch was woven. The fabric thus woven was treated with 3 g / L of a desizing agent, 50 m / min of a speed, and a pick-up rate of 80%, and then 1 g / L of a metal stabilizer and 3 g / L of H₂O₂ were used to sufficiently remove impurities from the fabric. The fabric after pretreatment was treated with a preparation consisting of 6% by weight of a water repellent, 5% of a catalyst, and water as a residue at a pick-up rate of 60%, and then heat-treated at 130°C. After calendering at 90°C to uniformly form a water-repellent film on the fabric, a coating agent consisting of 50 wt% urethane, 5 wt% toluene, and DMF was applied with a knife to complete the coating process, thereby completing the manufacture of an awning fabric with a final weight of 320 g / ㎡.

[0026] [Example 2]

[0027] Using 75 denier raw polyester filament as the core and 1.5 denier raw polyester fiber (fiber length 38 mm) as the staple fiber covering the core, 18 core yarns with a polyester composition of 100 wt% were manufactured by spinning using the air jet spinning method.

[0028] Using the above core yarn, a plain weave fabric with a warp density of 88 counts / inch and a weft density of 60 counts / inch was woven. The fabric thus woven was subjected to desizing, water repellency, calendaring, and coating processes under the same conditions as Example 1, thereby completing the manufacture of an awning fabric with a final weight of 273 g / ㎡.

[0029] [Comparative Example 1]

[0030] Using ring spinning, it is made of 100% raw acrylic by weight, and the acrylic fiber is also made of the same fiber material as in Example 1 to produce Nec 10 / 1 single yarn, and then a plain weave fabric having the same basis weight as in Example 1 is woven, and then an awning fabric is produced by performing sizing, water repellency, calendaring, and coating in the same manner as in Example 1.

[0031] The physical properties of the fabrics of Example 1, Example 2 and Comparative Example 1 were measured and are shown in Table 1.
