[0001] Cross-reference to related applications
[0002] This application claims priority to Chinese patent applications filed on August 30, 2024, with application number 202411215306.9 entitled "Compartment, Indoor Unit and Air Conditioner" and application number 202422131938.9 also entitled "Compartment, Indoor Unit and Air Conditioner", the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0003] This application relates to the field of air conditioning technology, and in particular to a cabin section, an indoor unit, and an air conditioner. Background Technology
[0004] Air conditioners often include various control structures. When wiring, one end of the wire needs to be connected to the control structure, and the other end needs to pass through the opening in the air conditioner's casing. Specifically, taking an air handling unit as an example, the electric heating module of the indoor unit is often an optional accessory, and an installation position is reserved for it. When users select the electric heating module, they need to install the heating module and the air switch connected to it during after-sales installation, and connect one end of the power cable to the air switch, with the other end passing through the opening in the air conditioner's casing.
[0005] When wiring an air conditioner, the wiring holes and openings in the casing are prone to misalignment, causing wiring inconvenience. Furthermore, the openings in the air conditioner casing are often not designed with the optional electric heating module in mind, or the opening may also be used for wiring other modules, making misalignment a common problem. When the circuit breaker is connected to the electric heating module, the high power of the module results in a thicker power cable, which is difficult to bend in confined spaces, further exacerbating the wiring difficulties. [0040] During after-sales installation, air conditioners require the installation of the heating module and its connected air switch. One end of the power cable is connected to the air switch, and the other end extends through an opening in the air conditioner's casing. The inventor discovered that in related technologies, because the air switch is installed close to the panel, its wiring holes are also close to the panel. However, the opening in the air conditioner's casing, due to structural strength considerations, is often not positioned near the edge. This leads to misalignment between the wiring holes and the casing opening during actual wiring, causing inconvenience. Furthermore, the air conditioner casing opening is often not designed with the optional electric heating module in mind, or the opening may also be used for wiring other modules, resulting in a misalignment between the opening and the air switch's wiring holes, further contributing to the aforementioned misalignment problem. When the air switch is connected to the electric heating module, the high power of the module results in a thicker power cable, making bending difficult in confined spaces, further exacerbating the wiring inconvenience.
[0041] More specifically, due to limitations in the structural strength of the air conditioner casing, the location of the opening in the casing is relatively far from the end of the air conditioner casing. That is, along the radial direction of the opening in the casing, the maximum distance between the wiring hole and the end of the air conditioner casing is less than the maximum distance between the opening in the casing and the end of the air conditioner casing. This results in a misalignment between the opening in the casing and the wiring hole, making wiring inconvenient.
[0042] Therefore, referring to Figures 1-8, an embodiment of this application provides a compartment 100. The compartment 100 includes a housing 110 and a control switch 120. The compartment 100 can be of different types, for example, it can be applied to any of the following: an air handling unit, a wall-mounted air conditioner, a floor-standing air conditioner, or a central air conditioning system.
[0043] Specifically, referring to Figures 1-2, the housing 110 defines a receiving cavity 200. It can be understood that the receiving cavity 200 is the internal cavity of the housing 110 itself, and the receiving cavity 200 can have different shapes depending on the shape of the housing 110. The housing 110 includes a first shell wall 111 and a second shell wall 112 arranged adjacent to each other. The first shell wall 111 has a first hole 1111, and the second shell wall 112 has a second hole 1121. It can be understood that both the first shell wall 111 and the second shell wall 112 are sidewall structures constituting the housing 110, and both the first hole 1111 and the second hole 1121 can have any suitable cross-sectional shape. The following description uses an embodiment where both the first hole 1111 and the second hole 1121 are circular cross-section holes.
[0044] Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the control switch 120 is disposed in the receiving cavity 200. The control switch 120 being disposed in the receiving cavity 200 is defined as follows: the main body of the control switch 120 is located within the receiving cavity 200. The control switch 120 has a first sidewall 121 facing the first housing wall 111, and the first sidewall 121 is provided with an operating element 122 suitable for switching the control switch 120 on and off. The first sidewall 121 is the end wall surface of the control switch 120 facing the first housing wall 111. The control switch 120 can be in any suitable on / off control mode, and the operating element 122 is the part of the control switch 120 that is operated by the user to control the on / off state. Specifically, in some embodiments, the control switch 120 can be an air switch, and the operating element 122 can be a lever used for operating the air switch. The following description uses the control switch 120 configuration of the above embodiments as an example.
[0045] Based on the configuration of the first hole 1111, referring to Figures 2-3, the operating element 122 is exposed through the first hole 1111, and the first sidewall 121 is spaced apart from the first housing wall 111. The following definition defines the operating element 122 being exposed through the first hole 1111 as follows: the orthographic projection of the operating element 122 onto a projection plane perpendicular to the axis of the first hole 1111 and the orthographic projection of the edge of the opening of the first hole 1111 onto the projection plane at least partially overlap. This definition only indicates the relative positional relationship between the operating element 122 and the first hole 1111; therefore, even when other components obstruct the first hole 1111, the operating element 122 can still be exposed through it. This configuration allows the user to control the operating element 122 through the first hole 1111 while the control switch 120 is installed away from the first housing wall 111. Based on the setting of the second hole 1121, the control switch 120 is configured to connect one end of the wire 300, and the second hole 1121 is configured to allow the other end of the wire 300 to pass through. In other words, the control switch 120 is configured to connect one end of the wire 300, and the other end of the wire 300 is adapted to pass through the receiving cavity 200 through the second hole 1121. The above limitation means that one end of the wire 300 is adapted to connect to the control switch 120, and the other end is adapted to pass through the receiving cavity 200 through the second hole 1121. After the control switch 120 is set lower relative to the first hole 1111, the above setting allows the control switch 120 to be closer to the second hole 1121, and when viewed along the axial direction of the second hole 1121, there is a small positional deviation between the wiring hole 123 of the control switch 120 and the second hole 1121, thereby reducing the degree of bending of the wire 300 when wiring, and making it easier to connect the wire 300 between the control switch 120 and the second hole 1121. Depending on the requirements, the conductor 300 can be any wire structure suitable for connection, and can be a single strand of wire or multiple strands combined into one conductor 300 (for example, the conductor 300 can be a cable).
[0046] Based on the combination of the above embodiments, it can be seen that the compartment 100 of this application includes a housing 110 and a control switch 120. The housing 110 defines a receiving cavity 200. The housing 110 includes a first housing wall 111 and a second housing wall 112 arranged adjacent to each other. The first housing wall 111 has a first hole 1111, and the second housing wall 112 has a second hole 1121. The control switch 120 is disposed in the receiving cavity 200. The control switch 120 has a first sidewall 121 facing the first housing wall 111. The first sidewall 121 has an operating member 122 adapted to turn the control switch 120 on and off. The operating member 122 is exposed in the first hole 1111. The first sidewall 121 is spaced apart from the first housing wall 111. One end of the wire 300 is adapted to connect to the control switch 120, and the other end is adapted to pass through the second hole 1121 and out of the receiving cavity 200. Compared to the design of air switches mounted flush against the panel in related technologies, the present application's solution, by setting the control switch 120 lower relative to the first hole 1111, allows the control switch 120 to be closer to the second hole 1121. Furthermore, when viewed along the axis of the second hole 1121, there is a small positional deviation between the wiring hole 123 of the control switch 120 and the second hole 1121. Therefore, the compartment 100 of this application facilitates the wiring operation of the control switch 120.
[0047] Regarding the spacing between the first sidewall 121 and the first housing wall 111, more specifically, in some embodiments, the distance between the first sidewall 121 and the first housing wall 111 along the axial direction of the first hole 1111 is greater than or equal to 5mm. Ensuring a sufficient distance between the first sidewall 121 and the first housing wall 111 facilitates bringing the control switch 120 closer to the second hole 1121, making wiring operations more convenient. Furthermore, in other embodiments, the distance between the first sidewall 1121 and the first housing wall 111 can be set to any suitable value as needed.
[0048] Referring to Figure 2, for the specific wiring configuration of the control switch 120, in some embodiments, the control switch 120 has a wiring hole 123 for the wire 300 to pass through. The wiring hole 123 is suitable for connecting the wire 300. The center of the wiring hole 123 is located on the side of the control switch 120 near the second housing wall 112 along the axial direction of the second hole 1121, and the wiring hole 123 faces the second hole 1121. It can be understood that during wiring, one end of the wire 300 can pass through the wiring hole 123, and the other end can pass through the second hole 1121. The wiring hole 123 is located on the side of the control switch 120 near the second housing wall 112 to reduce the length of the wire 300 and facilitate wiring. In addition, the direction in which the wire 300 passes through the wiring hole 123 can be the same as the direction in which the wire 300 passes through the second hole 1121, that is, both are in the axial direction of the second hole 1121.
[0049] Based on the above-defined wiring hole 123, referring to Figure 5, in some embodiments, the projection of the edge of the opening of the wiring hole 123 onto a projection plane perpendicular to the axis of the second hole 1121 is the first projection S1, and the projection of the edge of the opening of the second hole 1121 onto the projection plane is the second projection S2. The maximum radial dimension of the second projection S2 along the second hole 1121 is d1, and the shortest distance along the radial direction of the second hole 1121 between the geometric center of the first projection S1 and the geometric center of the second projection S2 is d2, satisfying that d1 > d2. It can be understood that the above limitations ensure that the deviation between the wiring hole 123 and the second hole 1121 is no greater than the diameter of the second hole 1121, thereby achieving a higher degree of alignment between the wiring hole 123 and the second hole 1121 and facilitating wiring operations.
[0050] Regarding the arrangement of the control switch 120, referring to Figure 1 or Figure 2, in some embodiments, along the axial direction of the second hole 1121, the control switch 120 is located on the side of the first housing wall 111 closer to the second housing wall 112. It is understood that the control switch 120 can be located closer to the second housing wall 112 along the axial direction of the second hole 1121. This arrangement makes the space between the control switch 120 and the second housing wall 112 more compact, which is beneficial for providing installation space for other components of the compartment 100 and facilitates a more compact design of the compartment 100. Furthermore, based on the above embodiments, the alignment of the wiring hole 123 with the second hole 1121 is higher, so that when the control switch 120 is closer to the second housing wall 112 along the axial direction of the second hole 1121, the wire 300 will not experience significant bending, ensuring convenient wiring.
[0051] Depending on the requirements, the operating element 122 can be positioned in different locations. Referring to Figures 4, 6, and 7, in some embodiments, the operating element 122 is housed within the receiving cavity 200; alternatively, a portion of the operating element 122 is housed within the receiving cavity 200, while another portion extends out of the receiving cavity 200 through the first hole 1111. Furthermore, referring to Figures 4, 6, and 7, in some embodiments, the control switch 120 also includes a control body 124, meaning the control switch 120 consists of the control body 124 and the operating element 122. The operating element 122 is movably connected to the control body 124, and the movement of the operating element 122 can be reflected as a control signal. The control body 124 responds to the control signal to perform the function of controlling the on / off switch. The control body 124 is the main body of the control switch 120. Specifically, when the control switch 120 is an air switch, the control body 124 can be the part of the air switch excluding the lever. Based on this, referring to Figure 4, in some embodiments, both the control body 124 and the operating element 122 are housed within the receiving cavity 200. The above arrangement allows the control switch 120 to be further away from the first housing wall 111 without the operating member 122 becoming excessively long, thereby improving the alignment between the wiring hole 123 and the second hole 1121. In this case, the user can insert their hand or other component into the first hole 1111 to operate the operating member 122. Referring to Figure 6, in some embodiments, the control body 124 is housed in the receiving cavity 200, and the operating member 122 extends out of the receiving cavity 200 through the first hole 1111. This arrangement allows the user to operate the operating member 122 directly outside the receiving cavity 200.
[0052] As required, referring to Figure 2, in some embodiments, the number of control switches 120 can be multiple, thus the number of wires 300 can be multiple. Each wire 300 can be passed through the wiring hole 123 and the second hole 1121 of each control switch 120 in a one-to-one correspondence (at this time, the number of second holes 1121 and the number of wiring holes 123 can be the same); in addition, each wire 300 can also be passed through the wiring hole 123 of each control switch 120 in a one-to-one correspondence, and multiple wires 300 can be passed through one second hole 1121 at the same time.
[0053] The compartment 100 also includes a heating element 130, and a control switch 120 is connected to and adapted to control the heating element 130. Specifically, the heating element 130 can be an optional heating module for the compartment 100. In different embodiments, the heating element 130 can be electrically connected to the control switch 120, or it can be fixedly connected to the control switch 120 as a single unit. Due to the above configuration, the heating element 130 can employ a larger rated power, such as any one of 15KW, 20KW, or 25KW. To match the aforementioned power, the wire 300 needs to have a larger diameter. Combined with the various configurations in the above embodiments that allow for a higher degree of alignment between the wiring hole 123 and the second hole 1121, a larger wire diameter reduces bending of the wire 300, ensuring convenient wiring.
[0054] Based on the arrangement in the above embodiments where both the control body 124 and the operating element 122 are housed within the receiving cavity 200, to facilitate operation of the operating element 122, referring to Figures 3-4, in some embodiments, the compartment 100 further includes a connector 140. The connector 140 connects the first shell wall 111 and the control switch 120. The connector 140 includes a second sidewall 141 extending around the operating element 122, defining an operating opening 143 facing the operating element 122. It is understood that because the second sidewall 141 surrounds the operating element 122 and defines the operating opening 143, the user can extend their arm to operate the element and can operate it within the space enclosed by the second sidewall 141, thereby improving the user experience. Furthermore, in different embodiments, the second sidewall 141 can surround the operating element 122 in any suitable trajectory; for example, the second sidewall 141 can be rectangular or circular.
[0055] Based on the above definition of the connector 140, further referring to Figure 4, in some embodiments, the connector 140 also includes a bottom wall 142 connecting the second sidewall 141. Along the axial direction of the operating opening 143, one side of the bottom wall 142 faces the operating member 122, and the other side faces the operating opening 143. The bottom wall 142 and the second sidewall 141 are configured to deform under external force to act on the operating member 122. It is understood that the bottom wall 142 and the second sidewall 141 can jointly isolate the operating member 122 within the receiving cavity 200, thereby improving the safety of the compartment 100 and enhancing the user experience, while also meeting the airtightness requirements of the control switch 120 and other components located within the receiving cavity 200. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the bottom wall 142 can contact the operating member 122, and the bottom wall 142 defines a groove 144 that is recessed away from the operating member 122 along the axial direction of the operating opening 143. The bottom wall 142 contacts the operating member 122 and defines the groove 144, which makes it easier for the user to operate the operating member 122.
[0056] In addition, in some embodiments, the connector 140 can also be detachably connected to the side of the first shell wall 111 away from the receiving cavity 200, that is, connected to the outside of the first shell wall 111, and in this case the connector 140 can cover the first hole 1111.
[0057] Based on the functions of the connector 140 described above, in some embodiments, the connector 140 is made of silicone. In other embodiments, the connector 140 may also be made of any of rubber, latex, or leather. Furthermore, to further enhance the safety of the compartment 100 and improve the user experience, the connector 140 may be made of insulating material.
[0058] To install the control switch 120, referring to Figures 3 and 8, in some embodiments, the compartment 100 further includes a mounting plate 150, one end of which is detachably connected to the housing 110, and the other end is detachably connected to the control switch 120. Thus, the control switch 120 can be fixedly installed in the receiving cavity 200 by means of the mounting plate 150, and the position of the mounting plate 150 connected to the housing 110 or the position of the control switch 120 connected to the mounting plate 150 can be adjusted as needed, thereby facilitating the alignment of the wiring hole 123 with the second hole 1121 through flexible position adjustment. Depending on the requirements, the mounting plate 150 can connect the housing 110 and the control switch 120 in any suitable form, for example, by bolt connection. In other embodiments, the mounting plate 150 can also be integrally formed with the housing 110. It should be noted that the detachable connection described in this application can be a non-fixed connection such as a support, overlap, or snap-fit.
[0059] For a more specific configuration of the mounting plate 150, see Figures 3 and 8. In some embodiments, the mounting plate 150 includes a first plate 151 and a second plate 152. The first plate 151 and the second plate 152 can form any suitable angle, such as 90°. The first plate 151 is connected to the control switch 120. One end of the second plate 152 is connected to the first plate 151, and the other end is provided with a bent portion 1521. The compartment 100 also includes a fixing plate 160, and the shell 110 also includes a third shell wall 113, which is arranged adjacent to the second shell wall 112. Along the axial direction of the first hole 1111, the third shell wall 113 is arranged opposite to the first shell wall 111. The mounting plate 150 is connected to the third shell wall 113 and extends toward the first shell wall 111. The bent portion 1521 is configured to abut against the end of the fixing plate 160 near the first shell wall 111. It is understood that, along the axial direction of the first hole 1111, the second shell wall 112 is located between the first shell wall 111 and the third shell wall 113. The fixing plate 160 connects to the third shell wall 113 and extends toward the first shell wall 111. The fixing plate 160 can be used to detachably connect the mounting plate 150 (i.e., the mounting plate 150 is indirectly connected to the shell 110 at this time). Furthermore, since the bent portion 1521 of the second plate 152 can abut against the end of the fixing plate 160 near the first shell wall 111 (specifically, it can be mutually limiting abutment, or it can abut against each other through the connection and installation of the two), the bent portion 1521 and the fixing plate 160 can slide relative to each other. The user can select the fixing position of the mounting plate 150 according to needs, and the operation of the mounting plate 150 is relatively convenient. It should be noted that, in different embodiments, the third shell wall 113 can be the outer wall surface of the shell 110, or it can be the inner wall surface disposed inside the shell 110.
[0060] Depending on the requirements, the second hole 1121 can serve as a pre-reserved opening. Therefore, in some embodiments, the second shell wall 112 includes a plate body and a knockdown plate. The plate body has the second hole 1121, and the knockdown plate at least partially covers the second hole 1121. The knockdown plate is detachably connected to the plate body. That is, the second hole 1121 and the knockdown plate can form a knockdown structure with each other. Specifically, the second hole 1121 and the knockdown plate can be substantially severed, leaving only a small connection structure between them. Thus, when an opening is needed, the knockdown plate can be removed by manually breaking the connection structure with a hammer, pliers, or similar tools, exposing the second hole 1121. Depending on the requirements, the knockdown plate and the second shell wall 112 can be made of any material suitable for the pre-reserved connection, such as plastic or metal. With the aforementioned knock-off plate, the second hole 1121 can be used as a reserved hole. When the control switch 120 is not wired, the knock-off plate covers and blocks the second hole 1121. When wires need to be wired, the corresponding knock-off plate is knocked off according to the wire-threading position to expose the second hole 1121.
[0061] Referring to Figures 1-2, an embodiment of the second aspect of this application also provides an indoor unit 400 for an air conditioner, including the compartment 100 of any of the above embodiments.
[0062] An embodiment of the third aspect of this application also provides an air conditioner, including an indoor unit 400, an outdoor unit, and a piping assembly as described in any of the above embodiments. The piping assembly connects the indoor unit 400 and the outdoor unit.
[0063] For the various settings of the indoor unit 400 and the air conditioner, please refer to the relevant descriptions and technologies of the foregoing embodiments, which will not be repeated here. Thanks to the improvements made to the compartment 100 in the foregoing embodiments, the indoor unit 400 of the second aspect embodiment and the air conditioner of the third aspect embodiment of this application have the same technical effects as the compartment 100 in the foregoing embodiments. Further details will not be provided here.
[0064] The above are merely preferred embodiments of this application and do not limit the patent scope of this application. Any equivalent structural transformations made based on the content of the specification and drawings of this application under the concept of this application, or direct / indirect applications in other related technical fields, are included within the patent protection scope of this application.
