Abstract
Description
Packaging manufacturing process Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing packaging. It is particularly applicable in the field of industrial packaging manufacturing.
[0002] Industrial packaging plays a vital role in protecting, securing, and transporting products throughout the supply chain, ensuring their integrity from production to final destination. This packaging must meet stringent requirements while adapting to technological advancements, increasing expectations for environmental sustainability, and current standards.
[0003] Some prior art documents also propose industrial packaging. For example, publication document FR2970706 describes a device for securing or stabilizing food with a plastic lid.
[0004] However, the document states that for the device to work, a box with the correct dimensions is needed to hold or secure the food, all made of cardboard.
[0005] One example is US patent 4371366, which describes a manufacturing process for an open, two-tiered container. Another is US patent 4018377, which describes a compartmentalized tray with improved separation means. These documents feature notches or tabs along the length of the flaps. The drawback is that the number of partitions is limited by the dimensions of the formed box, and because the tabs protrude from the box after it is formed, at least one tab remains prominent due to the design. Presentation of the invention
[0006] The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks with a completely innovative approach.
[0007] More specifically, the invention aims to provide a method for making cardboard packaging.
[0008] One of the objectives is to improve the structural stability, secure closure, and suitability for compartmentalized packaging of the container, without requiring any external fastening elements (glue, staples, etc.)
[0009] One objective of the invention is to provide such a method, which can be easily adapted to existing systems.
[0010] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved, according to a first aspect, by means of a process for making a package having a pre-cut side, remarkable in that the process comprises the following successive steps: a) cutting a sheet for making a pre-cut cardboard side; said pre-cut side comprises, a base having four sides, two lower side flaps arranged on two opposite sides of said base, a front front flap positioned on another side of the base, a rear flap positioned opposite the front front flap with respect to the base, said front front flap and said rear flap each having four sides having two lengths and two widths; fixing elements are positioned on each width of the front front flap and the rear flap, a lid face having four sides having two lengths and two widths;upper side flaps are positioned on each width of the lid face, a closing flap is positioned on the lid face on a side opposite the rear flap; said rear flap has at least one notch; said front flap has at least one notch; the lid face has a plurality of partitions; said plurality of partitions has at least one lug; b) form a package from the pre-cut side of the previous step comprising the following sub-steps: 1) fold, relative to the base, the front flap, the rear flap with the lower side flaps and the fastening elements to form an open box; 2) attach the fastening elements to the lower side flaps; 3) fold the lid face over the open box; 4) bridge the partitions of the lid face; the length of the partitions is greater than the length of the lid face;the lug being configured to cooperate with the notch of the rear flap or with the notch of the front flap.
[0011] Thanks to these features, folding the front, rear, and side flaps creates a stable open box. The fastening elements ensure structural strength and hold the flaps in place, guaranteeing a well-defined and robust box. These elements also provide a transverse structural connection, preventing the sides from accidentally opening.
[0012] By folding the lid face down onto the open box, the packaging is partially closed, which helps to protect the contents while facilitating a more secure subsequent closure.
[0013] The partitions on the lid face, when folded into bridges, reinforce the structure of the packaging and allow for internal separation of the contents, which can prevent movement or mixing of the packaged items.
[0014] Using partitions that are longer than the lid face provides better interconnection and greater storage capacity thanks to the notches and tabs along the length of the flaps. This also allows the tabs to be easily inserted into the notches to lock the partitions in place.
[0015] The invention locates the lugs laterally, with the possibility of integrating the excess flaps (front flap or rear flap), leaving a flat upper surface, therefore stackable safely.
[0016] Thanks to the multiple partitions integrated into the lid face and the anchoring lugs, the lid face exerts a vertical compressive force on the box when closed. This increases the overall rigidity of the packaging and its resistance to crushing.
[0017] The lid is positioned in line with the rear flap, so that it can be folded down onto the open box. This positioning allows the packaging to close in one piece, with a single folding axis, simplifying use for the end user.
[0018] The lower side flaps provide lateral guidance for the lid when closing, and allow partial overlap of the side sides of the box, reinforcing the cohesion of the structure once closed.
[0019] The tabs in the notches form a passive mechanical locking system, requiring no glue, adhesive, or metal components. This keeps the lid securely closed, improving logistical security, preventing accidental openings, and allows for tool-free closure.
[0020] The invention is advantageously implemented according to the embodiments and variants set out below, which are to be considered individually or according to any technically feasible combination.
[0021] In one embodiment, during step a) of cutting a sheet, the front front flap and the closing flap have a plurality of "U" shaped openings.
[0022] Thanks to these features, these openings make it easier to apply the product after final packaging.
[0023] In one embodiment, during step a), the sheet is made of cardboard defined according to a cutting thickness between 0.3 mm and 1.6 mm or of cardboard defined according to a basis weight between 100 g / m² and 400 g / m².
[0024] In one embodiment, during step 4), said plurality of partitions being in contact with the bottom or being partial along a portion of the height of the open box.
[0025] The height of the open box refers to the width of the rear flap, the front front flap, or the lower side flap.
[0026] Thanks to these arrangements, the partitions prevent the products from mixing.
[0027] In one embodiment, during step 2) of fixing the fixing elements in the lower side flaps, said fixing is made by an adhesive element or a mechanical element cooperating with a pre-cut on the lower side flaps and configured to block the formation of the open box.
[0028] These arrangements allow for a solid and robust package during transport.
[0029] In one embodiment, during step a) the pre-cut side has a rounded shape on the lid face at the level of the partitions.
[0030] In one embodiment, during step 1) the bottom has at least one notch positioned below the partitions configured to hold the partitions in a fixed position.
[0031] Thanks to these features, the notches allow the packaging to have a locked structure.
[0032] In one embodiment, during step 1), said two fixing elements of the lid face are fixed to said upper side flaps.
[0033] In one embodiment, during step 1), the lower side flaps have an opening and / or at least one pre-cut; said opening and / or said pre-cut cooperates with the fastening elements.
[0034] Thanks to these arrangements, the pre-cutting helps to keep the packaging elements together. Brief description of the figures

[0068] The pre-cut side has a rounded shape on the lid face 24 at the level of the partitions.
[0069] This rounded shape has a diameter radius between 10 mm and 18 mm. In one variant, the diameter radius is 14 mm.
[0070] This allows it to conform to the shape of the lid face 24 and to allow the lug 29 of the partitions to be inserted into the rear flap 23.
[0071] The partition plurality includes a width between 20 mm and 90 mm and a length between 65 mm and 120 mm.
[0072] In a completed example, the partition with the lug has a length of 107 mm and without the lug, 104 mm. In another example, the lug is between 0.5 mm and 2.5 mm thick, preferably between 1 mm and 1.5 mm.
[0073] The multiple partitions form storage units. Each storage unit is separated from the others by a distance of between 3 mm and 16 mm.
[0074] The solid partitions, longer than the lid face and the front flap 21 when folded down, allow for a stabilizing vertical compression force to be exerted.
[0075] This configuration helps maintain the final shape of the packaging in case of movement.
[0076] The partitions integrated into the lid face are solid, continuous, and not perforated, which offers a decisive advantage in terms of separating the contents. This prevents ingredients from passing or mixing from one compartment to another, which is particularly critical for food applications.
[0077] According to another variant, the partition plurality is partial.
[0078] The length of the partitions is greater than the length of the cover face 24. This allows the lug 29 of the plurality of partitions 27 to cooperate with the notch 28 of the rear flap 23 and to hold the partitions in a fixed position.
[0079] During installation, the partitions are folded towards the direction of gravity.
[0080] According to one variant, the lid face 24 has six partitions forming three bridges.
[0081] The bridges are shown on the packaging when the pre-cut side is formed.
