Description

Glove structure and gloves

[0001] The present invention relates to a glove structure and a glove.

[0002] Gloves for preventing hand injuries are known. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses gloves worn by motorcycle riders. Patent Document 2 discloses work gloves worn by water jet operators. Other known sports gloves include golf gloves, cycling gloves, tennis gloves, batting gloves, and racing gloves for drivers.

[0003] Utility Model Registration No. 3046058 Patent No. 6485837

[0004] When gripping motorcycle handlebars, water jet handlebars, or the like, the fist tends to protrude. This makes the fist prone to hitting other objects. As a result, the fist is prone to fractures and injuries. To prevent this, a knuckle guard member is provided on the back of the hand of the glove to protect the fist. The knuckle guard member includes a knuckle guard material to protect the hand. However, if the knuckle guard member is positioned directly above the fist, the hard knuckle guard material inhibits the bending movement of the fingers. On the other hand, if priority is given to the bending movement of the fingers, the knuckle guard material is shifted toward the wrist, resulting in a position that is offset from the fist, and the fist cannot be protected.

[0005] In view of the above circumstances, the present invention aims to provide a glove structure and a glove that allow smooth bending of the fingers and enable the installation position of the knuckle guard material to be set directly above the fist.

[0006] The present invention provides a glove structure comprising: an instep piece that is positioned on the back of the hand when the glove is worn; a back finger piece that extends from the instep piece and is positioned on the back of the hand for at least one of the second through fifth fingers when the glove is worn; a knuckle guard member that is arranged from the instep piece to the back finger piece; an instep piece connecting structure that connects the knuckle guard member to the instep piece; a first back finger piece connecting structure that connects the knuckle guard member to the first back finger piece; and a second back finger piece connecting structure that connects the knuckle guard member to the second back finger piece, wherein the knuckle guard member is movable relative to the end of the instep piece on the back finger side between the first back finger piece connecting structure and the second back finger piece connecting structure.

[0007] When switching from an extended finger state to a bent finger state, it is preferable that the knuckle guard member be movable relative to the end of the back piece on the back-side finger side between the first back-side finger piece connecting structure and the second back-side finger piece connecting structure.

[0008] Between the first back-side finger piece connecting structure and the second back-side finger piece connecting structure, it is preferable that the knuckle guard member be movable relatively toward the fingertip side with respect to the end of the back piece on the back-side finger piece side.

[0009] It is preferable that the first back-side finger piece connecting structure and the second back-side finger piece connecting structure of the knuckle guard member are spaced apart to an extent that the knuckle guard member can move relatively toward the fingertip side with respect to the end of the back piece on the back-side finger piece side.

[0010] Between the first back-side finger piece connecting structure and the second back-side finger piece connecting structure, it is preferable that the end of the back piece on the back-side finger piece side is not connected to the knuckle guard member.

[0011] The instep connecting structure is preferably located on at least one of the outer sides of the first instep finger connecting structure and the second instep finger connecting structure in the width direction of the hand.Furthermore, the instep connecting structure is preferably located closer to the wrist than the end of the instep on the instep finger side.

[0012] The knuckle guard member preferably comprises a knuckle guard material and a retaining piece that holds the knuckle guard material, and the knuckle guard material is preferably harder than the retaining piece. The portion of the retaining piece that is closer to the back of the finger than the knuckle guard material is preferably movable relative to the back piece. Furthermore, the portion of the retaining piece that is closer to the back of the finger than the knuckle guard material is preferably not connected to the back piece.

[0013] The retaining piece is located on the back of the hand and comprises a guard back portion that retains the knuckle guard material, and guard finger portions that are arranged closer to the fingers than the guard back portion, and the guard finger portions comprise a first guard finger portion that covers the first back-side finger piece and a second guard finger portion that covers the second back-side finger piece, and it is preferable that the first back-side finger piece connecting portion is provided on the first guard finger portion and the second back-side finger piece connecting portion is provided on the second guard finger portion, and the retaining piece covers the crotch portion of adjacent back-side finger pieces.

[0014] It is preferable that a notch or a slit is formed in the holding piece, and the back-side finger piece is exposed through the notch or the slit.

[0015] The present invention provides a glove structure comprising: an instep piece located on the back side of the hand when the glove is worn; a back finger piece extending from the instep piece and located on the back side of the hand for at least one of the second through fifth fingers when the glove is worn; a knuckle guard member arranged from the instep piece to the back finger piece; an instep piece connecting structure connecting the knuckle guard member to the instep piece; a first back finger piece connecting structure connecting the knuckle guard member to the first back finger piece; and a second back finger piece connecting structure connecting the knuckle guard member to the second back finger piece, wherein it is preferable that the knuckle guard member is not connected to the instep piece, the first back finger piece, or the second back finger piece between the first back finger piece connecting structure and the second back finger piece connecting structure.

[0016] The back piece connecting structure is preferably located on at least one of the outer sides of the first back piece connecting structure and the second back piece connecting structure in the width direction of the hand.

[0017] The present invention provides a glove structure comprising an back piece that is positioned on the back of the hand when the glove is worn, a back finger piece that extends from the back piece and is positioned on the back of the hand for at least one of the second through fifth fingers when the glove is worn, a knuckle guard member that is arranged from the back piece to the back finger piece, and an back piece connecting structure that connects the knuckle guard member to the back piece, wherein the back piece connecting structure is provided on both outer sides of the knuckle guard member in the width direction of the hand.

[0018] The instep piece connecting structure is preferably provided closer to the wrist than the knuckle guard member.

[0019] Between the back piece connecting structure provided on the wrist side of the knuckle guard member and the back-side finger piece, it is preferable that the length of the knuckle guard member in the direction from the wrist side toward the fingertip side is longer than the length of the back piece and the back-side finger piece in the direction from the wrist side toward the fingertip side.

[0020] The glove of the present invention is characterized by having the glove structure described above.

[0021] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a glove structure and a glove that allow smooth bending of the fingers and enable the installation position of the knuckle guard member to be set directly above the fist.

[0023] 1(A) and 1(B), glove 2 can be worn on the left hand and comprises a glove body 10, a knuckle guard member 20 provided on glove body 10, a connecting structure 30 that connects knuckle guard member 20 to glove body 10, and a zipper member 40 provided on glove body 10. Note that a glove that can be worn on the right hand is preferably symmetrical to glove 2.

[0024] The glove body 10 is formed in a bag shape and includes a first finger storage bag 11 to a fifth finger storage bag 15 that can store the first finger (thumb) to the fifth finger (little finger), respectively, and a palm storage bag 18 that can store the palm.

[0025] The glove body 10 comprises a back-side body piece 100 and a palm-side body piece 200 (Fig. 1(C)). The palm-side body piece 200 has substantially the same shape as the back-side body piece 100, and is arranged so that its contour overlaps the contour of the back-side body piece 100. The edges of the back-side body piece 100 and the palm-side body piece 200 are connected by stitching except for the portion where the wrist insertion hole 10X, through which the wrist is inserted when putting on the glove, is formed.

[0026] 2, when the glove 2 is worn on the hand, the back-side main body piece 100 includes a back-side second finger piece 102 located on the back side of the second finger (index finger), a back-side third finger piece 103 located on the back side of the third finger (middle finger), a back-side fourth finger piece 104 located on the back side of the fourth finger (ring finger), a back-side fifth finger piece 105 located on the back side of the fifth finger (pinky finger), and a back piece 108 located on the back of the hand. The back-side second finger piece 102 to the back-side fifth finger piece 105 each extend from the tip side (fingertip side) of the back piece 108.

[0027] Similarly, when the glove 2 is worn on the hand, the palm-side main body piece 200 includes a palm-side first finger stall 201 located on the palm side of the first finger, a palm-side second finger piece 202 located on the palm side of the second finger, a palm-side third finger piece 203 located on the palm side of the third finger, a palm-side fourth finger piece 204 located on the palm side of the fourth finger, a palm-side fifth finger piece 205 located on the palm side of the fifth finger, and a palm piece 208 located on the palm. The palm-side second finger piece 202 to the palm-side fifth finger piece 205 each extend from the tip side of the palm piece 208.

[0028] The back-side second finger piece 102 and the palm-side second finger piece 202 form the second finger storage pouch 12 ( FIG. 1 ). Similarly, the back-side third finger piece 103 and the palm-side third finger piece 203 form the third finger storage pouch 13, the back-side fourth finger piece 104 and the palm-side fourth finger piece 204 form the fourth finger storage pouch 14, and the back-side fifth finger piece 105 and the palm-side fifth finger piece 205 form the fifth finger storage pouch 15. The palm-side first finger storage pouch 201 can store the first finger. The second finger storage pouch 12 can store the second finger. Similarly, the third finger storage pouch 13 can store the third finger, the fourth finger storage pouch 14 can store the fourth finger, and the fifth finger storage pouch 15 can store the fifth finger.

[0029] The glove body 10 is preferably made of a soft sheet-like material that allows easy finger movement, such as genuine leather, synthetic leather, synthetic fiber, or a composite of these.

[0030] As shown in FIG. 3, the knuckle guard member 20 includes a knuckle guard material 21 for protecting the knuckle joints (particularly the MP joints) of the fingers, and a holding piece 25 for holding the knuckle guard material 21.

[0031] The knuckle guard material 21 is arranged on the back piece 108 so as to extend in the width direction of the hand (Y direction). The knuckle guard material 21 is preferably provided to cover the back of the hand from the second finger piece 102 to the fifth finger piece 105 in the Y direction. Furthermore, the knuckle guard material 21 preferably covers the back piece 108 from the fingertip side to the back of the second finger piece 102 to the back of the fifth finger piece 105 (base end side) in the direction from the wrist to the fingertip (X direction). The knuckle guard material 21 is preferably made of a material harder than the retaining piece 25. Examples of materials for the knuckle guard material 21 include genuine leather, synthetic leather, synthetic fibers, and composites thereof. The material for the retaining piece 25 is not particularly limited, but is preferably a sheet-like material, such as synthetic leather, synthetic fibers, and composites thereof.

[0032] 4 and 5, the retaining piece 25 includes a guard back portion 25A that is arranged to overlap the back piece 108, and guard finger portions 25B that are arranged to overlap the back-side second finger piece 102 to the back-side fifth finger piece 105. The guard finger portions 25B are preferably integral with the guard back portion 25A.

[0033] The guard back portion 25A is connected by stitching to the knuckle guard material 21. The knuckle guard material 21 extends in the Y direction. In the Y direction, one end of the knuckle guard material 21 extends to the second finger housing pocket 12, and the other end extends to the fifth finger housing pocket 15.

[0034] The guard finger portion 25B preferably covers the base end side (wrist side) of the back-side second finger portion 102 to the back-side fifth finger portion 105. The guard finger portion 25B also preferably covers the crotch portion 106 formed between adjacent fingers of the back-side second finger portion 102 to the back-side fifth finger portion 105. This allows the knuckle guard material 21 to be positioned closer to the fingertips.

[0035] As shown in FIG. 3 , the guard finger portion 25B preferably has a notch 25BX formed therein. The notch 25BX extends from the fingertip side of the guard finger portion 25B toward the wrist, to a midpoint of the guard finger portion 25B. The back-side second finger piece 102 and the back-side third finger piece 103 are exposed through the first notch 25BX. The back-side third finger piece 103 and the back-side fourth finger piece 104 are exposed through the second notch 25BX. The back-side fourth finger piece 104 and the back-side fifth finger piece 105 are exposed through the third notch 25BX. This allows the knuckle guard material 21 to be positioned closer to the fingertip and improves the range of motion of the fingers.

[0036] Hereinafter, the portion of the guard finger portion 25B that covers the back-side second finger piece 102 is defined as the guard second finger portion 25B2, the portion that covers the back-side third finger piece 103 is defined as the guard third finger portion 25B3, the portion that covers the back-side fourth finger piece 104 is defined as the guard fourth finger portion 25B4, and the portion that covers the back-side fifth finger piece 105 is defined as the guard fifth finger portion 25B5. The guard second finger portion 25B2 to the guard fifth finger portion 25B5 are separated by the formation of the cutout 25BX.

[0037] As shown in Figure 4, the connecting structure 30 is a seam that connects the knuckle guard member 20 to the glove body 10. The connecting structure 30 includes a second finger connecting portion 32 (back-side finger connecting structure) provided on the back-side second finger piece 102, a third finger connecting portion 33 (back-side finger connecting structure) provided on the back-side third finger piece 103, a fourth finger connecting portion 34 (back-side finger connecting structure) provided on the back-side fourth finger piece 104, a fifth finger connecting portion 35 (back-side finger connecting structure) provided on the back-side fifth finger piece 105, and side connecting portions 38 (back-side finger connecting structure) provided on both outer sides of the second finger connecting portion 32 and the fifth finger connecting portion 35. The second finger connecting portion 32 to the fifth finger connecting portion 35 are not connected and are separated from each other. More specifically, the second finger piece connecting portion 32 to the fifth finger piece connecting portion 35 are spaced apart from one another to such an extent that the retaining piece 25 can move relatively to the back-side main body piece 100 in the direction from the wrist to the fingertips (X direction).

[0038] The second finger connecting portion 32 connects the base end of the back-side second finger 102 to the tip end of the guard second finger portion 25B2. The third finger connecting portion 33 connects the base end of the back-side third finger 103 to the tip end of the guard third finger portion 25B3. The fourth finger connecting portion 34 connects the base end of the back-side fourth finger 104 to the tip end of the guard fourth finger portion 25B4. The fifth finger connecting portion 35 connects the base end of the back-side fifth finger 105 to the tip end of the guard fifth finger portion 25B5. The side connecting portions 38 are provided on both sides of the retaining piece 25, extending from the guard back portion 25A to the guard finger portion 25B. More specifically, the side connecting portions 38 are preferably provided on both sides outside the knuckle guard material 21 in the Y direction, and are preferably provided on both sides outside the second finger connecting portion 32 and the fifth finger connecting portion 35 in the Y direction.

[0039] The knuckle guard material 21 is preferably disposed more inward in the Y direction than the side connecting portion 38. Also, the knuckle guard material 21 is preferably disposed more inward in the Y direction than the second finger piece connecting portion 32 and the fifth finger piece connecting portion 35.

[0040] The second to fifth finger guard portions 25B2 to 25B5 are provided with second to fifth finger linking portions 32 to 35, respectively. As a result, the second to fifth finger guard portions 25B2 to 25B5 bend in accordance with the bending and straightening of the fingers.

[0041] The zipper member 40 comprises a strap 41 attached to the wrist side of the back piece 108, a male hook-and-loop fastener 42 attached to the strap 41, a female hook-and-loop fastener 43 attached to the wrist side of the palm piece 208, and a palm cutout 44 attached to the palm piece 208. The male hook-and-loop fastener 42 and the female hook-and-loop fastener 43 are detachable. With the zipper member 40 open, a hand is inserted into the glove 2. After inserting the hand into the glove 2, the male hook-and-loop fastener 42 is attached to the female hook-and-loop fastener 43, and the zipper member 40 is closed.

[0042] Here, in the width direction (Y direction) of the back of the hand, no connecting structure 30 exists between the connecting structures 30 (e.g., the second finger connecting portion 32 and the third finger connecting portion 33) provided on adjacent back-side fingers (e.g., the second back-side finger 102 and the third back-side finger 103) (reference symbol A in FIG. 4). In other words, the retaining piece 25 is not connected to the back-side main body piece 100 between the second finger connecting portion 32 and the third finger connecting portion 33. Therefore, the retaining piece 25 (particularly the portion between the knuckle guard material 21 and each finger connecting portion 32-35) is movable relative to the back-side main body piece 100 from the wrist to the fingertips (X direction). Therefore, when bending and straightening the fingers, even if the back body piece 100 (particularly the back piece 108) is pulled toward the fingertip when the fingers change from an extended state to a bent state, the knuckle guard member 20 (particularly the knuckle guard material 21) fixed to the back piece 108 is unlikely to interfere with the bending and straightening of the fingers. Therefore, the glove 2 allows smooth bending and straightening of the fingers.

[0043] It is more preferable that the material of the retaining piece 25 is stretchable. In this case, the retaining piece 25 can move more easily relative to the back body piece 100 in the direction from the wrist to the fingertip (X direction). It is also preferable that the material forming the retaining piece 25 is more stretchable than the material forming the glove body 10 (particularly the back body piece 100).

[0044] Furthermore, it is also preferable that the length of the retaining piece 25 in the X direction between the connecting structures 30 (e.g., the second finger piece connecting portion 32 and the third finger piece connecting portion 33) provided on adjacent back-side fingers (e.g., the back-side second finger piece 102 and the back-side third finger piece 103) (reference symbol A in FIG. 4) is longer than that of the back-side main body piece 100. In the case of a root finger, the retaining piece 25 is more likely to move relative to the back-side main body piece 100 in the direction from the wrist to the fingertip (X direction) by that extra length.

[0045] When switching from an extended finger state to a bent finger state, the knuckle guard member 20 (particularly the knuckle guard material 21) may be configured to move relative to the back-side main body piece 100 from the wrist toward the fingertips (X direction).

[0046] Since the guard finger portion 25B covers the crotch portion 106 (FIG. 3) of the back-side second finger piece 102 to the back-side fifth finger piece 105, the knuckle guard material 21 can be provided over the entire guard back portion 25A, that is, up to the end of the guard back portion 25A on the guard finger portion 25B side (FIG. 6). This allows smooth bending and straightening of the fingers and allows the knuckle guard material 21 to be provided in a position that covers the wearer's fist.

[0047] In the above embodiment, the second finger piece connecting portion 32 to the fifth finger piece connecting portion 35 (FIG. 4) are provided at the center in the Y direction of the second guard finger portion 25B2 to the fifth guard finger portion 25B5 (FIG. 6), respectively. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the second finger piece connecting portion 32 to the fifth guard finger portion 25B2 to the fifth guard finger portion 25B5 may be provided from one end to the other end in the Y direction.

[0048] In the above embodiment, the second to fifth finger pieces 102 to 105 are provided with the second to fifth finger piece connecting portions 32 to 35 ( FIG. 4 ), respectively. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, finger piece connecting portions may be provided at two predetermined locations among the second to fifth finger pieces 102 to 105. Furthermore, the two locations may be adjacent back-side fingers, such as the back-side second finger piece 102 and the back-side third finger piece 103, or the back-side third finger piece 103 and the back-side fourth finger piece 104, or may be non-adjacent back-side fingers, such as the back-side second finger piece 102 and the back-side fourth finger piece 104, or the back-side third finger piece 103 and the back-side fifth finger piece 105.

[0049] In the above embodiment, the side connectors 38 provided on both sides in the Y direction are provided on the holding piece 25 from one end of the holding piece 25 in the X direction to the other end of the holding piece 25, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the side connectors 38 may be provided on the holding piece 25 from one end of the holding piece 25 in the X direction to a midpoint in the X direction. For example, the side connectors 38 may be provided so as to extend in the X direction on the guard upper part 25A.

[0050] In the above embodiment, the connecting structure 30 is a seam that connects the knuckle guard member 20 to the glove body 10, but the present invention is not limited to this, and any means that can connect the knuckle guard member 20 to the glove body 10, such as adhesion or welding, may be used.

[0051] In the above embodiment, the knuckle guard material 21 is connected to the holding piece 25 by sewing, but the present invention is not limited to this, and any method that can connect the knuckle guard material 21 to the holding piece 25, such as adhesion or welding, may also be used.

[0052] In the above embodiment, as shown in Fig. 3, the guard finger 25B has the notch 25BX formed therein, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the guard finger 25B may have a slit 25SL formed therein (Fig. 7). The slit 25SL extends from the fingertip side of the guard finger 25B toward the wrist side to the middle of the guard finger 25B.

[0053] In the above embodiment, one end of the knuckle guard material 21 extends to the second finger housing pocket 12 and the other end extends to the fifth finger housing pocket 15 in the Y direction, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in FIG. 8A , one end of the knuckle guard material 21 may extend to the second finger housing pocket 12 and the other end may extend to the third finger housing pocket 13. As shown in FIG. 8B , one end of the knuckle guard material 21 may extend to the third finger housing pocket 13 and the other end may extend to the fourth finger housing pocket 14, or as shown in FIG. 8A , one end of the knuckle guard material 21 may extend to the fourth finger housing pocket 14 and the other end may extend to the fifth finger housing pocket 15.

[0054] In the above embodiment, one knuckle guard material 21 is connected to the holding piece 25, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in Fig. 8(A), two or more knuckle guard materials 21 may be connected to the holding piece 25.

[0055] In the above embodiment, the glove 2 is described as having second to fifth finger storage bags 12 to 15, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in Fig. 8(C), the present invention can also be applied to a glove 2 having second to third finger storage bags 12 to 13.

[0056] In the above embodiment, the connecting structure 30 is not provided between the side connecting portions 38 in the guard back portion 25A. However, the present invention is not limited to this. It is sufficient that the retaining piece 25 (particularly, the portion between the knuckle guard material 21 and each finger piece connecting portion 32-35) is movable relative to the back main body piece 100 from the wrist toward the fingertip. More specifically, it is sufficient that the knuckle guard material 21 is positioned above the finger joints (particularly, MP joints) when the fingers are bent. Therefore, even if the knuckle guard material 21 is out of place at the finger joints (particularly, MP joints) when the fingers are extended, the knuckle guard material 21 may be positioned above the finger joints (particularly, MP joints) when the fingers are bent.

[0057] For example, the connecting structure 30 may omit the second to fifth finger piece connecting portions 32 to 35 and instead include a side connecting portion 38 ( FIG. 9 ). In this case, it is preferable that the portion of the retaining piece 25 that is sandwiched by the side connecting portion 38 be spaced apart from the back body piece 100. This provides excess length to the retaining piece 25, so that even if the back body piece 100 (particularly the back piece 108) is pulled toward the fingertip by bending and straightening the fingers, the knuckle guard member 20 fixed to the back piece 108 is less likely to interfere with the bending and straightening of the fingers. Note that, while FIG. 9 shows the second to fifth finger piece connecting portions 32 to 35 all omitted, the present invention is not limited to this. At least one of the second to fifth finger piece connecting portions 32 to 35 may be provided.

[0058] Alternatively, instead of omitting the second finger piece connecting portion 32 to the fifth finger piece connecting portion 35, the connecting structure 30 may include a wrist-side connecting portion 39 that is provided closer to the wrist than the knuckle guard material 21 ( FIG. 10 ). In FIG. 10 , both ends of the wrist-side connecting portion 39 are positioned more inward than both ends of the knuckle guard material 21 in the Y direction, but they may also be positioned more outward than both ends of the knuckle guard material 21. Furthermore, the positions of both ends of the wrist-side connecting portion 39 may coincide with both ends of the retaining pieces 25, or may be positioned more inward than both ends of the retaining pieces 25.

[0059] In the above embodiment, the side connecting portions 38 are provided on both sides in the Y direction, but the present invention is not limited to this, and either one of them may be omitted.

[0060] Alternatively, the connecting structure 30 may omit the side connecting portion 38 and include the second to fifth finger connecting portions 32 to 35 and the wrist-side connecting portion 39 (back piece connecting structure) ( FIG. 11 ). In this case, when the range in the X direction from the second to fifth finger connecting portions 32 to 35 to the wrist-side connecting portion 39 is defined as range B, the length of the retaining piece 25 in the X direction within range B is preferably longer than the length of the back-side body piece 100 in the X direction within range B. This provides excess length to the retaining piece 25 within range B, so that even when the back-side body piece 100 (particularly the back piece 108) is pulled toward the fingertip by bending and straightening the fingers, the knuckle guard member 20 fixed to the back piece 108 is less likely to interfere with the bending and straightening of the fingers. In the drawing, the wrist-side connecting portion 39 is provided in the center of the holding piece 25 in the Y direction, but it may be provided from one end to the other end of the holding piece 25 in the Y direction.

[0061] In the above embodiment, the glove 2 can be widely applied to not only motorcycle gloves but also work gloves, sports gloves (for example, golf gloves, cycling gloves, tennis gloves, batting gloves, driver's racing gloves, etc.), etc.

[0062] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and it goes without saying that various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
