Description

[0001] A STAGED GLUING SYSTEM

[0002] FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The invention relates to a fiberboard production line configured for fiberboard manufacturing; comprising at least one refining unit which enables the chips, cooked in at least one steaming unit, to be converted into fibers, comprising at least one fiber transfer pipe which receives the fibers from the refining unit and transfers the fibers to at least one drying unit, and comprising a first gluing station, positioned at the section of the fiber transfer pipe that is close to the refining unit, which enables glue to be applied onto the fibers.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Fiberboards are engineered products obtained by disintegrating wood or other lignocellulosic materials into fine fibers and combining these fibers using chemical binders. These boards can be produced in various densities and are most commonly classified as medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and high-density fiberboard (HDF). MDF, in particular, has a wide range of applications in furniture manufacturing, interior decoration, and the construction sector due to its homogeneous structure, ease of processing, and surface quality. The processes used in fiberboard production consist of stages such as fiber disintegration, gluing, drying, and pressing. These stages comprise critical steps that determine the final properties of the boards.

[0006] In fiberboard production lines, the gluing process is situated between the refining unit and the drying unit. At this stage, the fine fibers are coated with a certain amount of glue and then directed to the drying unit. However, in existing production lines, the gluing process cannot be carried out with the desired efficiency, leading to high glue consumption. Currently, gluing is performed immediately after the refining unit, but due to the curing that occurs until the fibers reach the drying unit, a portion of the glue becomes wasted. This inefficiency not only increases glue consumption but may also adversely affect product quality. Consequently, the optimization of the gluing process is of great importance in order to keep production costs under control and to maintain product quality. As a result, all the abovementioned problems have made it necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field.

[0007] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The present invention relates to a fiberboard production line in order to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and to bring new advantages to the relevant technical field.

[0009] An objective of the invention is to provide a fiberboard production line with improved gluing characteristics and reduced glue consumption.

[0010] In order to achieve all the objectives mentioned above and those that will emerge from the detailed description below, the present invention is a fiberboard production line configured for fiberboard manufacturing; comprising at least one refining unit which enables the chips, cooked in at least one steaming unit, to be converted into fibers, comprising at least one fiber transfer pipe which receives the fibers from the refining unit and transfers the fibers to at least one drying unit, and comprising a first gluing station, positioned at the section of the fiber transfer pipe that is close to the refining unit, which enables glue to be applied onto the fibers. Its novelty is that it comprises a second gluing station, positioned at the section of the fiber transfer pipe that is close to the drying unit, which enables glue to be applied onto the fibers. In this way, the gluing process is divided into two stages and glue consumption is reduced.

[0011] A characteristic of a possible embodiment of the invention is that the first gluing station comprises a first nozzle group comprising a plurality of gluing nozzles, and the second gluing station comprises a second nozzle group comprising a plurality of gluing nozzles. In this way, the gluing process is carried out at multiple points within the gluing stations.

[0012] A characteristic of another possible embodiment of the invention is that the first nozzle group comprises at least one first type nozzle, and the second nozzle group comprises at least one second type nozzle which is of a type different from the aforementioned first type. In this way, it becomes possible to combine different types of nozzle structures for the two stations in order to increase efficiency.

[0013] A characteristic of another possible embodiment of the invention is that the distance of the second gluing station to the inlet of the drying unit is in the range of 3 to 8 meters. In this way, the gluing performance reaches an optimum level, and glue consumption is minimized.

[0014] The invention is a method for fiberboard production. Its distinguishing feature is that it comprises the steps of, respectively:

[0015] - cooking the chips in a steaming unit,

[0016] - converting the chips into fibers in a refining unit,

[0017] - receiving the fibers from the refining unit by means of a fiber transfer pipe and applying glue onto the fibers at the outlet of the refining unit by means of a first gluing station,

[0018] - transferring the fibers to a drying unit by means of the fiber transfer pipe for curing the applied glue,

[0019] - applying glue onto the fibers for a second time by means of a second gluing station before the fibers enter the drying unit.

[0020] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0021] A representative schematic view of the fiberboard production line subject to the invention is provided in Figure 1.

[0022] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0023] In this detailed description, the subject of the invention is described utilizing examples only for clarifying the subject matter such that no limiting effect is created.

[0024] In Figure 1 , a representative schematic view of the fiberboard production line (1) subject to the invention is provided. Accordingly, the fiberboard production line (1) is configured for the manufacturing of fiberboards. For this purpose, the fiberboard production line (1) comprises at least one steaming unit (10) in which the chips are cooked, and at least one refining unit (20) in which the chips are converted into fibers after the aforementioned steaming unit (10). The refining unit (20) is also known in the art as a refiner.

[0025] The fibers are received from the refining unit (20) by means of a fiber transfer pipe (30) and transported to the next station. Here, at the section of the fiber transfer pipe (30) that faces the refining unit (20), a first gluing station (31) is present. The first gluing station (31) enables glue to be applied onto the fibers. For this purpose, the first gluing station (31) comprises a first gluing group (311) having at least one gluing nozzle (40). The glue is transferred onto the fibers by the said gluing nozzle (40). The fiber transfer pipe (30) transfers the glued fibers to at least one drying unit (50). In the said drying unit (50), the glue on the fibers is dried. The drying unit (50) is representatively illustrated in the figure.

[0026] At the section of the fiber transfer pipe (30) that is close to the drying unit (50), a second gluing station (33) is located. In other words, the second gluing station (33) is positioned in the vicinity of the inlet of the drying unit (50). The said second gluing station (33) enables glue to be applied onto the fibers. For this purpose, the second gluing station (33) comprises a second gluing group (331) having at least one gluing nozzle (40). Between the first gluing station (31) and the second gluing station (33), a nozzle-free region (32) is present on the fiber transfer pipe (30) where no gluing nozzle (40) is located.

[0027] Here, the second gluing station (33) essentially functions as a second-stage gluing after the first gluing station (31 ). In other words, in the fiberboard production line (1 ) subject to the invention, the gluing process is performed in two stages, namely the first gluing station (31 ) and the second gluing station (33), unlike the current technique. Since the entire gluing is not performed at the outlet of the refining unit (20), the glue loss that occurs during the curing process until the fibers reach the drying unit (50) is reduced. In this way, the total amount of glue used is also reduced as a result of the two-stage gluing structure.

[0028] In a possible embodiment, the first gluing group (311 ) comprises a first type gluing nozzle (40), and the second gluing group (331 ) comprises a second type gluing nozzle (40). In the mentioned possible embodiment, the first type gluing nozzle (40) and the second type gluing nozzle (40) are nozzles of different types. In this way, it becomes possible to provide various combinations with gluing nozzles (40) of different structures in order to make the gluing process more efficient and to further reduce glue consumption.

[0029] The protection scope of the invention is specified in the appended claims and cannot be limited to the description made for illustrative purposes in this detailed description. Likewise, it is clear that a person skilled in the art can present similar embodiments in the light of the above descriptions without departing from the main theme of the invention.
