Description

[0001] Method of constructing large pyramidal buildings

[0002] Description

[0003] How the massive pyramid buildings are constructed.

[0004] The Description of the invention includes:

[0005] 1- Background of the invention.

[0006] 2- General description of the invention.

[0007] 3- Brief illustration of the images.

[0008] 4- Detailed description.

[0009] Background of the invention

[0010] First: the ancient pyramids:

[0011] 1. The ancient Egyptian pyramids, the largest of which is the Pyramid of Khufu, whose dimensions are:

[0012] • Length of the side of the square base = 235 m

[0013] • Height = 149.6 m

[0014] 2. The Bosnian pyramids, the largest of which is the Pyramid of the Sun, which is larger than the Pyramid of Khufu.

[0015] 3. The Chinese pyramids, including the one in Shanxi, whose dimensions are: 350 m as the length of the side of the square base, and 50 m as the height.

[0016] 4. The Mayan pyramids in Mexico, the most famous of which are the Great Pyramid of Cholula, the Pyramid of the Sun, and the Calakmul Pyramid.

[0017] The ancient pyramids are characterized by:

[0018] 1- The heritage and artistic value, as each pyramid is a giant abstract masterpiece, particularly the Giza Pyramids that were not affected by time.

[0019] 2- The massive size and height, particularly the Giza Pyramids.

[0020] From an aesthetic point of view:

[0021] The Giza Pyramids, other than all the other pyramids, is related to the golden ratio (1.618), which is one of the beauty measures and secrets in this universe. This ratio around us (human, animal, plant, objects) is hidden in nature in an amazing way. It is symbolized by the letter (Phi - 0).

[0022] Golden ratio: is a mathematical constant at the value of 1.618. This is the proportion of lengths between two numerical values that achieve it. In other words, “the ratio of the entire straight line to the large part thereof equals that of the large part to the small one".

[0023] For clarification:

[0024] • The straight line in this image is divided into two parts:

[0025] • The large part (straight line A)

[0026] • The small part (straight line B) • If the golden value of this straight line will be calculated, and the value of the golden ratio is indicated by the mathematical constant (1.61803399), then the value of the golden ratio = (A / B) = (A + B / A) = (1.61803399).

[0027] The golden ratio is not related only to straight lines. This known curve shape is based entirely on the golden ratio as shown in image (1). Moreover, the golden ratio was used in "arts, architecture, drawing, music". The relationship between the golden curve, the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx is shown in image (2). The golden curve in image (2) is in contact with the Giza Pyramids so that it does not go beyond the area of any of them. The golden curve in image (2) is based on two axes:

[0028] • A vertical axis, which divides the small unreal triangle into two triangles of the golden ratio. It begins from the top of the Pyramid of Khufu and ends at the corner of the large unreal triangle.

[0029] • A horizontal axis, which divides the small unreal triangle into two halves: 8.2 cm - 7.1 cm = 1.647 This measurement is based on the image. This axis passes through the Sphinx.

[0030] The curve begins at the intersection of the two lines that bisect the angle of the unreal golden ratio triangle, whose one side begins at the top of the Pyramid of Khufu and ends at the top of the Pyramid of Menkaura. The most interesting part about this drawing is that the length of the curve on the ground is about 3 km. This precise contact means that the planner of the Giza Pyramids is a single person or scientific entity. It also means that the artistic goal, or rather the artistic miracle of the Giza Pyramids, was a main objective behind constructing them. When it is known that the golden ratio was used in the Pyramid of Khufu, whose four sides are golden ratio triangles, it can be confirmed that this pyramid is an artistic miracle, as shown in image (3).

[0031] Second: the modern pyramids:

[0032] 1) The Walter Pyramid in California whose dimensions are:

[0033] • Length of the base = 105 m

[0034] • Height - 58 m

[0035] • Size of the Walter Pyramid in comparison with the Pyramid of Khufu = (0.333 * 149.6 * 235 * 235) 4- (0.333 * 58 * 105 * 105)% = 7.739%, as shown in image (4).

[0036] 2) Las Vegas Pyramid (Luxor Hotel) whose dimensions are:

[0037] • Length of the base = 180 m

[0038] • Height - 111 m

[0039] • Size of the Las Vegas Pyramid in comparison with the Pyramid of Khufu = (235 X 235 X 6.149 X 0.333)

[0040] 4- (0.333 X 180 X 180)% = 43.531%, as shown in image (5).

[0041] 3) The two pyramids:

[0042] The Transamerica Pyramid of San Francisco, United States of America = 260 m The Shard London Bridge, United Kingdom = 309.6 m

[0043] Both pyramids have no problem to avoid because the width of the base is less than or approximately equals 100 m as shown in images (6-7).

[0044] The problem of the construction of the ancient pyramids:

[0045] A pyramid (residential, administrative, commercial, hotel) construction has architectural, economic and security problems.

[0046] First: the architectural problem:

[0047] The more the size of the pyramid, the worst the problem. This is to say that the pyramid whose dimensions are: base = 200 * 200 m, height = 100 m, will encounter a greater architectural problem than that in a pyramid whose dimensions are: base = 100 * 100 m, height = 50 m. Such a problem lies in the vast area, mainly that of the base, which is far from the external view, ventilation and natural lighting, whether in the pyramid whose base dimensions are 100 * 100 = 10,000 m2or 200 * 200 = 40,000 m2with a large height of either 100 or 50 m.

[0048] Considering the skyscrapers, as shown in images (8-9), it can be found out that the length of the base ranges between 50 and 70 m regardless of the skyscraper height. This is consistent with the principles of interior architecture. Instead of building a skyscraper of 200 * 200 m (base) * 400 m (height), 16 skyscrapers of 50 * 50 m (base) * 400 meters (height) can be built, whereas 200 * 200 * 400 = 50 * 50 * 400 * 16 = 1600000 m3. Thus, most of the area of the skyscraper has an external view and also has the benefit of ventilation and natural lighting.

[0049] What if a pyramid of the same size as the Pyramid of Khufu is constructed in the traditional wav? (how the ancient pyramids were built)

[0050] First:

[0051] If a cultural floor (museum - library - art galleries) or a mall are built with the same dimensions and size of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the area X will be 34.62% of the size of the pyramid of Khufu, as shown in Figure (10). The size of the Pyramid of Khufu is: (235 * 235 * 149.6 * 0.333) = 2753886.667 m3. The size of the pyramidion X will be (165 * 165 * 105.1 * 0.333) - (9.58 * 9.58 * 1.6 * 0.333) = (953782.5 - 186.61) = 953595.89 m3.

[0052] Size of the pyramidion X in relation to that of the Pyramid of Khufu will be (2753886.667 -? 953595.89)% = 34.6272743%.

[0053] This pyramidion has the same size as that of a skyscraper whose height is 43.381 m and whose length of the base is 50 * 50 m.

[0054] Second:

[0055] If a hotel or residential units are built, the size of the internal earth pyramid will be larger than that of the aforementioned example. The area of the base will be 200 * 200 and the height will be 128. Thus, the size will be 200 * 200 * 128 * 0.333 = 1706496 m3. In this way, the size of the internal earth pyramid in relation to the total size of the Pyramid of Khufu will be 62%.

[0056] Second: the economic problem: Two economic problems can be found out in this regard. The first is related to the money paid in the place with a large architectural problem. The larger the size of the pyramid building, the greater the architectural problem, which results in an increasing economic difficulty. A pyramid whose size is the same as the Pyramid of Khufu can have a serious architectural problem, which may cause the amount of money paid in the area with an architectural problem to equal that needed to build a skyscraper whose base is 50 * 50 m and whose height is 43.381 m.

[0057] Regarding the second problem, and in case the problem of making use of the space is solved by an architect, another problem can be encountered when comparing the cost of building a pyramid whose dimensions are 235 * 235 * 146.9 to that of a skyscraper whose height is 600 m and base is 50 * 50. After making a comparison, it will be found out that the cost of constructing a pyramid is close to that of building a skyscraper.

[0058] Based on this comparison, investors will prefer to have a skyscraper that is 600 or 900 m high to a pyramid whose height is 150 or 200 m. evidently, and since the construction of the Las Vegas Pyramid (Luxor Hotel) that is 111 meters high, no pyramids have been built, while dozens of skyscrapers are constructed annually. This considers that the architectural problem at the Luxor Hotel is not the same as the one to be encountered when building a pyramid of the same size and dimensions as the Pyramid of Khufu or a bigger one, as the Luxor Hotel is smaller.

[0059] Third: the safety problem inside the building:

[0060] There are three concerns to de highlighted in this regard:

[0061] 1- The population density is truly high inside a pyramid building with the same size as that of the Pyramid of Khufu, regardless of the activity being carried out. This problem will increase as the size increases and vice versa.

[0062] 2- It is difficult to reach the heart of the building in case of fire.

[0063] 3- The safety problem will aggravate in case the heart of the pyramid is utilized for building sports halls or cultural centers. This is because the population density is high in these places compared to that in residential units. Any endeavors made in this regard may complicate the economic problem, as the roof of each hall will support another, to the contrary of the sports halls and the cultural centers usually built.

[0064] The aforementioned problems (architectural - economic - safety) can be found out in the pyramids to be a (residential, administrative, commercial, hotel) building. However, there will be economic difficulties only in the pyramids that will be built for:

[0065] 1. A solar power station and an advertising screen on the faces of the pyramid exposed to the sun, while those not exposed to the sun will be a (residential, administrative, commercial, hotel) building.

[0066] 2. A natural work of art (the entire surface of the pyramid will be landscape, water basins, sand or rocks and stones).

[0067] 3. An abstraction using various materials (the entire surface of the pyramid will be made of silver, copper, wood, etc.)

[0068] The economic problem will lie in the cost of the concrete structure, which can be much higher than that of compacting the soil and the retaining walls. This is to say that the cost of the reinforced concrete construction of a pyramid with the size of the Pyramid of Khufu may be close to that of a skyscraper with a base of 70 * 70 m and a height of 500 m, totaling 2.45 million m3, which is almost the same size as the Pyramid of Khufu. As for the method of compacting the soil and the retaining walls, the relevant cost can be truly low. This will be explained in the Description section. For more details, the equipment needed to build a pyramid the size of the Pyramid of Khufu is:

[0069] 10 large transport vehicles with a capacity of 30 m3+ 2 large loaders. So, if each vehicle will transport a load every half hour, it will transport 40 loads in 20 hours. As such, 10 vehicles * 30 tons * 40 loads per day = 12,000 m3* 300 days = 3 million m3, which is larger than the size of the Pyramid of Khufu.

[0070] Description of the invention

[0071] New aspects in the sub ject of the invention

[0072] The pyramid will be built of two parts: a solid internal part (sand and soil) and an external one including the facilities. This will be explained in terms of the architectural, economic, safety and environmental aspects.

[0073] Purpose of the invention and the method of utilization:

[0074] As a beginning, the importance of the large pyramid buildings, particularly the Giza Pyramids, will be underlined so that their value and that of the invention can be deeply perceived. This will help construct such buildings in an economical and safe way. Their importance can be determined in three aspects: massiveness, glamor, and distinctive shape.

[0075] 1- Massiveness

[0076] The Pyramid of Khufu is larger than any built skyscraper. Its size is about 2.7 million cubic meters, as the area of its base is 55,000 m2, which is truly large, while the area of the base of most skyscrapers is approx. 3,000 m2. This means that the area of the base of the Pyramid of Khufu is about 18 times the area of the base of any skyscraper, and the equivalent of the area of eight football fields. This is why the Pyramid of Khufu can be clearly seen from a distance of five kilometers. The area of the base of the Pyramid of Menkaura equals the area of two football fields, and it is four times larger than the Blue Mosque in Turkey, one of the most famous and largest mosques in the world. However, its large size is not recognizable when compared to the Pyramids of Khufu and Khafra, whose sizes are 6:8 times that of the Pyramid of Menkaura, as shown in image (44).

[0077] Photo (44) was taken about 10 km away from the Giza Pyramids.

[0078] 2- Glamor a. Glamor of the pyramidal shape, b. Glamor of the Giza Pyramids, and c. Glamor of the modern Giza Pyramids to be built in the method to be patented a) The glamor of the pyramidal shape lies in its being an abstraction of mountains, causing its viewer to feel stable, secure, reassured and proud. It is specifically a cubist art, which is related to the geometric shapes. b) The glamor of the Giza Pyramids: The Giza Pyramids are distinguished among all other pyramids by their connection to the golden ratio 1.618, which is a measure of glamor and a secret of beauty in our universe. It can be recognized in almost all creatures (humans - animals - plants - objects) and is stunningly inherent in nature.

[0079] Value of the golden ratio: The golden ratio is simply the proportion of lengths between two numerical values that accomplish it. In other words, it is when the ratio of the entire length to the large part is the same as the ratio of the large part to the small one, as shown in image (45). The value of the golden ratio is indicated by the mathematical constant: 1.61803399. also, it is not related to straight lines only, as there is a famous curve shape that is based entirely on the golden ratio. The golden ratio was used in arts (architecture - drawing - music), as shown in images (46) and (47), and it is strongly related to the Fibonacci numbers, which are: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, ... and so on with the ratio of each number while the previous number gradually is close to 1.618, or Phi. The connection of the golden ratio to the Giza Pyramids can be summed up in two points:

[0080] 1- The connection of the golden curve to the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx as shown in image (48).

[0081] 2- It was used in the Pyramid of Khufu as shown in image (49). c) The glamor of the modern Giza Pyramids to be built in the method to be patented: It is historically known that the appearance of the Giza Pyramids was distorted over thousands of years, which is not now the one when the Pharaohs completed the construction of the Great Pyramids. Therefore, imitations of the Giza Pyramids, in terms of their size, shape, side lengths, and distances between them, while innovating different forms for the pyramids, including: a. Residential, commercial, administrative, hotel purposes, b. A natural work of art (the entire surface of the pyramid will be landscape, water basins, sand or rocks and stones), c. An abstraction using various materials (silver, copper, wood, etc.), d. A solar power station and an advertising screen on the faces of the pyramid exposed to the sun, while those not exposed to the sun will be used for any of the aforementioned three functions, and e. A combination of all of the aforementioned functions, will cause the modern pyramids to combine the ancient originality and the modern glamor. It would be so pleasant to have a replicate of the three pyramids in every country all over the world and see them embraced by the art and nature of their builder country.

[0082] 3- Distinctive Shape

[0083] Most buildings that are more than 75 m high are rectangular or cylindrical, rarely pyramidal. It is obvious that a different shape of a building draws the attention thereto more than the usually-seen traditional shapes.

[0084] There are 8 ways of utilization:

[0085] 1. Residential, commercial, administrative, hotel.

[0086] 2. A natural work of art (the entire surface of the pyramid will be landscape, water basins, sand or rocks and stones).

[0087] 3. An abstraction using various materials (silver, copper, wood, etc.).

[0088] 4. A solar power station and an advertising screen on the faces of the pyramid exposed to the sun, while those not exposed to the sun will be used for any of the aforementioned three functions.

[0089] 5. A combination of all of the aforementioned functions.

[0090] 6. Establishing tourist and residential cities around the pyramids.

[0091] 7. The environmental problem of the excavations from the construction of cities can be solved by using the pyramids as a dumpsite for excavation waste. Cities with an area of 9 million square meters often produce more than 3 million cubic meters of excavations. This soil can be used in building the pyramids, if usable for construction, rather than being transported tens or hundreds of kilometers away.

[0092] 8. Possibly, this method can also be benefitted from to build large conical and semicircular shapes.

[0093] Such method of utilization has economic, aesthetic (artistic) and environmental benefits:

[0094] Economic benefits:

[0095] 1 Establishing any project, whether a hotel, a museum, a library, a mall, will be characterized by:

[0096] 1) Glamorous interior and exterior design,

[0097] 2) Rare design, and

[0098] 3) Unique architecture.

[0099] This will result in:

[0100] 1 . Increasing the service prices, as establishing a hotel will cause the booking charges of the rooms to increase. In case of establishing residential units, their sale or lease prices will also rise.

[0101] 2 Establishing a residential, a tourist, or a tourist residential city around the Great Pyramids with the same dimensions and sizes of the Great Pyramids on an area of 2 * 2 km, i.e. 4 million square meters; an area of 25 million square meters, or a greater area, the Giza Pyramids can be seen clearly from a distance of 5 km. Thus, the area of the city can be 10 km * 10 km = 100 million square meters.

[0102] As mentioned in the Abstract, when looking at the Giza Pyramids from the Grand Egyptian Museum, built to be close to the Great Pyramids, and is 2 km away from them, the massiveness of the Great Pyramids, as an advantage, will be realized. The Giza Pyramids can be clearly seen from a distance of 5 km, the distance at which new cities, such as the (Sun Capital), are being built in Giza governorate, using their distinguished view of the pyramids, which are the peak of the abstract art, as a promotional way. The rise in real estate prices will highlight the glamor and rarity of the pyramids. If the price per meter increases by $1,000 in a city with an area of 25 million square meters because of the pyramids, the profit will be $25 billion. If the price per meter increases by only $1,000, this will be a profit of $2.5 billion. The price per meter will be determined primarily according to the wealth or poverty of the country in which the pyramids will be built.

[0103] 3 The pyramid buildings will be a landmark (icon) for the state, governorate or province in which they are located, which will increase the tourist attraction.

[0104] Aesthetic (artistic) benefit: Building the pyramids in more than one country will spread beauty and increase the aesthetic taste of people all over the world.

[0105] Environmental benefit: This is divided into two parts: a. Using the pyramids as a dumpsite, which will protect the environment from pollution by dust resulting from transporting millions of cubic meters of soil to distances of up to tens or hundreds of kilometers. This will also reduce fuel consumption for vehicles that transport the soil. b. Using the pyramids as main solar power stations and advertising renewable energy and the green economy thereon, as shown in image (50).

[0106] Brief illustration of the images

[0107] Image (1): Golden curve

[0108] Image (2): The golden curve in the image is in contact with the Great pyramids so that it does not go beyond the area of any of them.

[0109] The golden curve in the image is based on two axes:

[0110] • A vertical axis, which divides the small unreal triangle into two golden ratio triangles. This axis starts from the top of the Pyramid of Khufu and ends at the corner of the large unreal triangle.

[0111] • A horizontal axis, which divides the small unreal triangle into two halves: 8.2 cm - 7.1 cm = 1.647. This measurement is based on the image, and this axis passes through the Sphinx.

[0112] The curve begins at the intersection of two lines bisecting the angle of the unreal golden ratio triangle, whose one side starts at the top of the Pyramid of Khufu and ends at the top of the Pyramid of Menkaura. Amazingly, the length of the curve in reality is about 3 km. This precise contact means that the planner of the Great Pyramids is one person or scientific entity. It also means that the artistic goal, or rather the artistic miracle, of the Great Pyramids, was a basic goal behind building them.

[0193] 1) Introduction

[0194] Software related to the soil mechanics, such as MSew, Geo Studio, and Plaxis, was used to prove that a height of 100 m of compacted soil retained by the concrete walls and geogrid, can be reached. The most difficult model, which is the concrete structure that has human activity thereon, is selected to prove the validity of the method to be patented. A hotel will be built. Regarding the solar power model, it is much easier as the loads of the solar panels are small. Regarding the masterpiece of nature, it is easy too because it is placed directly on the compacted sand without building foundations, columns and roofs. Regarding the abstraction pyramid using industrial materials, the loads are so light. Therefore, the detailed description will be related to a pyramid designed to be a tourist hotel.

[0195] There are two points to be proven in the detailed description:

[0196] 1- Practicability of implementation without encountering any engineering problems, and

[0197] 2- Cost effectiveness. Both are related to:

[0198] 1) The height of the pyramid ranges between 60 to 150 meters, and can be higher. This is because the main goal of the patent is to replicate the wonder of the Giza Pyramids. The detailed description will be related to a pyramid of the same size, height, and angle of inclination as the Pyramid of Khufu.

[0199] 2) The angle of inclination of the intended pyramid ranges between 30 and 60 degrees in most cases. This is because the lesser the inclination angle, the lower the height and the size. There will be no economic, architectural and security problems because of an inclination angle of 60. Rather, the shape will tend more to be moderate. The inclination angle of the concrete wall that retains the soil will be 50-60 degrees to reduce the cost and increase the implementability. The higher the pyramid and its angle of inclination, the more difficult the implementation and the engineering problems and the higher the cost, and vice versa. This is because the cost of this method depends on three elements, without taking into account the structures and other elements specific to the function of the pyramid (hotel, solar power, etc.). These three elements are:

[0200] 1- Transporting and compacting the soil,

[0201] 2- The geogrid, and

[0202] 3- The retaining concrete wall.

[0203] It is engineeringly fundamental that the higher the pyramid and its angle of inclination, the lower the cost and the engineering problems. The angle of inclination will be close to that of the compacted soil. There are also three elements related to the practicability of implementation without encountering any engineering problems, and the cost effectiveness. The three concerned elements change according to the place of the pyramid construction. These are:

[0204] 1. The type of the soil on which the pyramid will be built.

[0205] 2. The distance of the soil to be compacted from the place where the pyramid will be built.

[0206] 3. The relative difference in prices for all the construction elements from one country to another.

[0207] Therefore, it will be risky to determine the exact cost of this method. However, the calculations will be approximate, at the highest prices and in the most difficult construction conditions. The difference will be truly large between the economic feasibility of building the pyramids, as explained in the section on the utilization method, estimated in huge sums of money in the case of building pyramids of the same size as the Giza Pyramids, and the cost of construction in this method, also estimated in sizeable amounts, particularly if the technical and environmental dimensions (advertising for renewable energy) of building the pyramids are considered, in addition to the economic dimension. It is not necessary or logical to calculate the cost accurately. Rather, it will be calculated as ranging between X and 2 X.

[0208] 2) Description of the Project

[0209] This is a project for constructing a pyramid building, using a dumpsite at a height of 99 m. In this method, the soil can be compacted at a height of 50-100 meters. It is not recommended to compact more than this because there is no problem with a vacuum of 10:30% in the pyramid. Rather, the benefits will vary in all four functions of the pyramid as the vacuum will be at a height of 50:100 meters. The higher, the more valuable the upper floors. Also, the cost of compaction and soil transport increases the higher the pyramid is, particularly if the soil on which the pyramid will be constructed is not robust and that the soil to be compacted inside the pyramid is far from the place where the pyramid will be built. The soil will be compacted to 100, not 50, meters, although the architectural, economic and security problem will have been solved if the compaction is to a height of 50 meters. This is because the area of the base after 50 meters of height = 157 meters * 157 meters. The higher, the smaller the area and the fewer the problems mentioned previously. Although this height of compaction actually exists on the ground and does not need engineering evidence, the detailed description will be based on a pyramid with a height of compaction of 99 meters to prove the validity of the idea in the most difficult circumstances and with the toughest architectural drawings. According to the opinion of the experts in the patent office, or the specialists in the consulting company to supervise the project, the height should not exceed 70-90 meters to ensure the stability of the building and avoid any risks.

[0210] The height will range between 50-100 meters, depending on the project being implemented and its function, the architectural drawings, and the recommendations of the consulting office. There is no problem with the patent subject in case the patent office decides that it is better not to carry out the compaction at a height of more than 70-90 meters, for example. Rather, there will be a problem if compaction is not allowed at a height of 30-50 meters. At a height of 30 meters, the base area will be 188 m * 188 m, and the size will be 188 * 188 * 120 * 0.333 = 1412346 m3. This is approximately the area, size and height of the Luxor Pyramid in Las Vegas. Certainly, the architectural, economic and security problems will decrease as the height of the compacted soil increases. But it should be clarified that at the height of 30 meters, the compacted soil will be about half the size of the pyramid, which can end the architectural, economic and security problems to a truly large extent.

[0211] • This report was prepared for providing the recommendations required for designing and implementing a 99-meter-high dumpsite, retained using MSE walls. It also includes the properties of the materials used in the dumpsite, the type of soil to be backfilled, and the properties of the materials used in the walls. The project is a pyramid building at the height of 150 meters, built on a 99-meter-high dumpsite. The rest of the construction will be made of reinforced concrete. Note-worthy, the dumpsite will be on grades in order to erect the columns that will support the facade of the construction.

[0212] 3) Description of the Dumpsite and the Retainment System

[0213] The dumpsite will be built on grades, each of which is 45.4 meters high, with an entry of 3.5 meters in each step, which will be retained using MSE walls. The distance between the wall reinforcement layers should be 60 cm. Precast concrete slabs will also be used to have the facades of the retaining walls.

[0214] 4) Nature of the soil

[0215] Backfilling will be carried out on soil consisting of a mixture of sand and gravel. Its properties are as follows: Density: 19 KN / m3

[0216] KN / m2 + 05

[0217] Young's modulus: 1.70 E

[0218] Friction angle: 40

[0219] Dumpsite material properties: Backfilling will be carried out using clean sand free of waste. Its properties are as follows:

[0220] Density: 18 KN / m3

[0221] Young's modulus: KN / m2 5.00 E + 04

[0222] Friction angle: 33

[0223] Geogrid properties:

[0224] Geogrid with the following properties will be used:

[0225] EA: 1.50E+04 KN / m

[0226] Np: 1.00E+10 KN / m

[0227] 5) Design

[0228] The analysis and design of the dumpsite and walls were carried out using the following software: Plaxis, Geo studio, Geo slope, (Msew), (SAP + AutoCAD). The analysis and design were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Hussein, the lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Fayoum University, Department of Soil Mechanics and Foundations. The (Msew) software was created in Cairo, at the office of Dr. Sherif Abdel Baqi. The outcomes of the analysis can be viewed in the Annexes (1-4).

[0229] 6) Recommendations

[0230] • The sand used in the compaction process must be completely clean and free of waste.

[0231] • Compaction should be carried out in 30 cm thick layers using the appropriate water content.

[0232] • Tests should be carried out on the compacted sand to ensure the degree of compaction, provided that the compaction percentage must not be less than 95%.

[0233] • The integrity of the geogrid must be ensured and tested to verify its tensile load.

[0234] • The concrete slabs should be poured on site according to the standard dimensions and specifications.

[0235] 7) Annexes

[0236] All software and its outcomes are attached in electronic files to the patent. Below is a summary of the outcomes of each software:

[0237] 1. Plaxis software as shown in images (16), (17), (18), and (19),

[0238] 2. Geo studio, Geo slope software as shown in images (20) and (21),

[0239] 3. (Msew) software as shown in images (22), (23), and (24), and

[0240] 4. (SAP + AutoCAD) software as shown in images (25) and (26).

[0241] 8) Construction Method Steps

[0242] As shown in image (27), this drawing on the CAD software has all the details of the dimensions.

[0243] 1 The land on which the pyramid will be built should be prepared so that it can be completely paved and ready for the construction process.

[0244] 2 The sand should be transported from the nearest area, which will mostly be around the pyramid, as a result of the city built around the pyramid. Water and chemical materials will be added, if necessary. 3 The soil will be compacted at every 30 cm. The geogrid will be placed at every 60 cm on an area of 210 * 210 at a height of 4.5 meters of the retaining wall on the first floor. At the same time of compacting the soil and placing the geogrid, the retaining wall will be erected.

[0245] 4 With the beginning of the second floor, conveyor belts can be placed to lift the soil or use an earth bridge to lift it, then compact the soil at every 30 centimeters, place the geogrid at every 60 centimeters, install the retaining wall for the second floor, and build the foundations, columns and slabs of the first floor according to the design in the annexes.

[0246] 5 A conveyor belt to lift the soil should be placed. The soil should go then to the vehicles inside the pyramid that distribute it. These vehicles will be lowered inside the pyramid to a height of 99 meters. After the distribution, the compaction will be carried out, the geogrid will be placed, the retaining wall of the third floor will be erected, and the foundations, columns and slabs of the second floor will be built.

[0247] 6 The construction of the floors from the fourth until the 22ndwill be pursued following the same method of constructing the first, second and third floors. The sand will be transported and compacted in the following manner:

[0248] • The method of lifting the soil and sand with belts and pumps as shown in images (28) and (29)

[0249] A belt at the length of 10 meters that ends at the beginning of another belt of 10 meters and so on will be placed until the required height will be reached. The capability of a belt is estimated at 250 m3per hour. So, these belts can lift 1,250,000 m3of soil * 250 days. 250 days * 20 working hours * 250 m3= 1,250,000 m3of soil. The number of belts to be needed if the height of the compacted soil inside the pyramid is 50 meters will be 5, as each belt is 10 meters high. Thus, the number of belts to be needed if the height of the compacted soil inside the pyramid is 90 meters will be 9 belts as each belt is 10 meters high.

[0250] The pump used to pump the concrete by mixing soil with water can also lift the soil. This pump also has a pumping capacity of about 250 m3per hour. It is a requirement that there should be water filters after the process of pumping the soil and bringing water out of the pyramid through pipes. An earth bridge can be made with a slope of 1 : 10 to raise the soil to a height of 10:20 meters. The three methods can be used together or two methods or just one can be selected for implementation, according to the decision of the implementor, as shown in image (30).

[0251] Note: the geogrid, geocell or geostrip can be placed, and compaction can be carried out at every 15 cm, all according to the engineering design.

[0252] 7 The vehicles, the compaction machine and the other machines can be downloaded by the plane.

[0253] 8 The last third of the pyramid should be constructed according to the design included by the annexes.

[0254] 9 The glass will be lifted and installed, the building will be finished, the elevators will be installed on each of the four sides of the building, and all plumbing and electrical works will be completed.

[0255] 10 A laser device will be placed or optical fibers for the advertisements will be installed.

[0256] Finally: Special cases in construction methods

[0257] 1. The method of building the base of the pyramid in case that the land of the construction area is not rocky or fragile or if the land on which the pyramid will be built need to be more robust for the safety of the building and to increase its lifespan. Here, the soil unsuitable for construction will be replaced with compacted soil, having geogrid between its layers, as shown in images (31) and (32) and according to the drawing to be adequate to the loads. This is because the loads of 100 m3of soil above that in the middle of the pyramid are different from those on the edges of the pyramid. In this case, waterproof bentonite piles, not the soil retainment ones, will be installed. This is because there is soil around the piles on all sides. The piles aim to isolate water and withdraw it from the excavation area, to place it as shown in the drawing. The excavation work inside the pyramid must be tens of meters away so that the soil retainment piles should not be needed. The tens of meters width of the first floor of the pyramid will help in this. Also, the excavations near the perimeter of the pyramid will not be as deep as they are in the middle. The work steps will be as follows:

[0258] Step 1 : the bentonite piles will be driven along the perimeter of the four sides of the pyramid. There will be no gaps among the piles, which should be separated for complete water isolation.

[0259] Step 2: the excavation should be carried out as shown in the drawing under the ground surface. The dimensions of the excavation and the specifications of the soil differ from one to another. This is not the subject of the patent. Importantly, the four steps should be completed and that the excavation should be done in a semi- inverted pyramid shape that is compatible with the loads.

[0260] Step 3 : the water will be withdrawn.

[0261] Step 4: the soil should be replaced with soil with good standard specifications. The geogrid should be placed among the layers of soil.

[0262] 2. The soil and the retaining walls will be used in the pyramids inside which a sports stadium will be built, or the ones to be used as a thermal insulator in cold countries. In both cases, the soil and the retaining wall can be used at the height of 10-20 meters. An earth bridge will be constructed at the same height to transport the soil during implementation and to transport passengers (people) into the pyramid after operation. As a benefit, this method will facilitate the movement of people inside the pyramid. A person can descend 20 meters and ascend 20 meters in an easy way, unlike movement in the case of the stadium being directly on the ground. This will increase the number of shops and make them at a height between 20-40 meters with a distinctive view from above. Aesthetically, the stadium floor will be 149.6 meters away from the top of the pyramid. All this height will be empty that may be architecturally undesirable, which will increase the cost of the covered roof. This also applies to the case of the Pyramid of Menkaura when used for games such as handball or basketball and other games that are adequate to its area.

[0263] If a sports city should be built, with the Giza Pyramids built therein, the golden curve can be used as a bridge that is about 20 meters high. Thus, this will add an aesthetic value to the city, as shown in images (33) and (34).

[0264] 3. The compaction works will be protected from rain and snow in the cold countries. To cover a pyramid the same size as that of the Pyramid of Khufu or Khafra, the area of the four faces will be about 80 thousand square meters. The method to be patented relates to covering the pyramid completely from all four sides. The cover will be similar in shape to the greenhouses, while its materials will be made of reinforced plastic and carbon fibers. Their specifications will be determined accurately after calculating the wind speed and the rate of rainfall and snowfall according to the region. The cover will be lifted with helium at the top of the pyramid as shown in the drawing, and will be loaded on iron wires fixed in the ground and at the top of the pyramid, as shown in image (35).

[0265] 9) Cost

[0266] 1. Calculating the lowest cost,

[0267] 2. Calculating the average cost,

[0268] 3. Calculating the highest cost, and

[0269] 4. Total cost of the hotel.

[0270] 1. Calculating the lowest cost

[0271] Each construction component in this method may cost considerable monies for implementation and also save the same. This can be explained as follows. . Calculating the average cost

[0272]

[0273] So, the cost of building the earth pyramid = $750000 + $548320 + $1700000 = $2,998,320, in addition to $0.5 million as subsidiary expenses and monthly salaries for engineers. Thus, the total cost of building the earth pyramid = $3.5 million.

[0274] 3. Calculating the highest cost

[0275] Calculation of the cubic meter ranges between $10-20. It is common in large projects that the owning company assigns the implementation to a contracting company, which earns several times the actual cost. The cost in this patent will be calculated on this basis, using the maximum limit which is that the contracting company calculates the cubic meter at $10-20 including the transportation of the soil, the geogrid and the erection of the walls. Thus, the cost is at the highest estimate will be 2 million cubic meters * $20 = $40 million.

[0276] 4. Total cost of the hotel a. The earth pyramid, whose cost was calculated at $40 million, and b. The hotel facilities on the earth pyramid and also above the earth pyramid in the last third of the pyramid.

[0277] Thus, the total cost of the hotel = $40 million + $37,290,000 + $5 million + $1,104,500 = $83,394,500.

[0278] 10) Feasibility study

[0279] The added value of the hotel, which is the same size as the Pyramid of Khufu

[0280] Notably, the 5-star hotels operate, on the average, 100 days a year. The price of a room is $100, while the charges of one individual in the ballrooms are $100. Certainly, this differs from one country to another. Thus, the funds paid to book the rooms can be = 1243 rooms * $100 * 100 days = $12,430,000 per annum.

[0281] 1. The hotel rooms prices will increase the higher the floors are. If the increase is 25% in prices and 25% in occupancy, the profit will be 1243 rooms * 125 * 125 = $19,421,875. For example, if the increase in prices is 50% and in occupancy rate is 50% in occupancy, the profit will be 150 * 150 * 1243 = $27,967,500. Thus, the increase will rise from $6 million to $15 million, with an average annual increase of $10 million.

[0282] 2. Regarding the charges of booking the ballrooms, a hotel will have 10 ballrooms, each with the capacity of 500 persons. Thus, the amount of money paid to book them in ordinary hotels is 10 ballrooms * 500 persons * 100 days * $100 = $50 million per annum. For example, if the increase in the individual charges is 50% and in occupancy rate is 50%, the profit will be 10 ballrooms * 500 persons * 150 days * $150 = $112,500,000 per annum. But if the increase in the individual charges is 100% and in occupancy rate is 100%, the profit will be 10 ballrooms * 500 persons * 200 days * $200 = $200,000,000 per annum. Thus, the increase will range between $62 million to $150 million, which is on average $106 million per annum.

[0283] 3. The profit of the advertisement for one hour per day will be $60,000, which is $60000 * 360 = $21,600,000 per annum.

[0284] 4. The economic value of one million square meters around the pyramid, at least, will increase by $1,000 per meter to equal the increase in the value of real estate by $1,000,000,000.

[0285] 5. The economic feasibility is the most important. If three pyramids (Khufu, Khafra and Menkaura) are established as hotels and a residential tourist city, having 4 km * 4 km = 16 km around them, and if the land meter increases by $1,000, the increase will be $16 billion. If the meter increases by $5,000, the increase in the real estate value of the city will be $80 billion due to the presence of the most beautiful and largest buildings in the world in the middle of the city.

[0286] This explains how any city to be built after the construction of the Giza Pyramids will be like.

[0287] This photo was taken about one km away from the Pyramid of Khafra, as shown in image (36).

[0288] This photo was taken about ten km away from the Giza Pyramids, as shown in image (37).

[0289] The diameter of the circle in the following image is an archaeological area in Egypt, where construction is prohibited, save for few exceptions related to the tourist services. Regarding the city in which the modern pyramids will be built, it will be the most valuable and the most distinctive. It is difficult to imagine how wonderful it will be without visiting this area and walking therearound. Contemplating this image, the place of the panoramic view will be seen as located on the circumference of the circle from the south side. So, how magnificent will the view be while inside the circle, as shown in image (38)! The Snipping Tool was used to help imagine the matter more clearly. The vast distances between the pyramids and also between them and the Sphinx are hard to imagine in the heart of a city without using such images for contemplation. Certainly, the Sphinx will be built in its real size and the golden curve will be used as a road in the city, a waterway or for any other purpose. If the following image is used in the urban planning of the city, with all the lines therein used as roads, while tall buildings are constructed around the city to view it and the pyramids, it will be a unique city, as shown in image (39).

[0290] The pyramids are placed instead of landmarks in Cairo, Paris and London. Certainly, the size of the Giza Pyramids is much larger than these landmarks. For example, a tower like the Cairo Tower is placed instead of the Pyramid of Khafra, which is about 20 times larger. The Pyramid of Khufu is placed instead of the Ramses Hilton hotel, while the former is about 10 times larger. This applies to all the landmarks, whose size is much smaller than that of the Giza Pyramids.

[0291] Certainly, the Pyramids and the Sphinx are placed with their real sizes, distances and the angles among them.

[0292] First: Cairo, as shown in image (40):

[0293] The Pyramid of Khufu is placed instead of Ramses Hilton hotel

[0294] The Pyramid of Khafre is placed instead of Cairo Tower

[0303] The Pyramid of Khafre is placed instead of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster

[0305] 11) Cost and feasibility study for a pyramidal vertical solar power station the size of the Pyramid of

[0306] Khufu

[0307] First: Cost:

[0308] If the cost ranges between $22-$38 million, in addition to the price of the land = 55000 m2* $20 (the average price per square meter for a solar power station land with some facilities) = $1,104,500. Thus, the final cost ranges between $23-$39 million.

[0309] Second: Economic Feasibility:

[0310] In terms of importance, the order below has to be followed:

[0311] 1. Advertisements,

[0312] 2. Buildings around the pyramid,

[0313] 3. The last third of the pyramid (a hotel),

[0314] 4. The technology mall on the north or south side of the pyramid, and

[0315] 5. Electricity generated from the solar power station on the three faces of the pyramid

[0316] As shown in image (43)

[0317] 1) Advertisements

[0318] $1,000 * 60 minutes * 16 hours * 360 days = $345,600,000 per annum.

[0319] 2) Buildings around the pyramid

[0320] They will be built on an area of 1 million square meters. The one square meter there will increase by $1,000 because the pyramid will be only few hundreds of meters away therefrom, and this price can also increase by much more. However, the calculations will be made according to the price of $1,000. Thus, the profits of the buildings will be one million square meters * $1,000 = $1,000,000,000. It is believed that the most appropriate activity that can be carried out in this space is various exhibitions, including electronics, electric cars, furniture, and building supplies exhibitions.

[0321] 3) The last third of the pyramid (a hotel)

[0322] It is needless to repeat the calculations here, as they are previously mentioned in the feasibility study of the hotel. However, it can be said that the secondary profit is about $150 million.

[0323] 4) The technology mall on the north or south side of the pyramid

[0324] This mall has many relative advantages: a. It is located in a pyramid the size of the Pyramid of Khufu. b. The advertisements and solar power cells are on three faces of the pyramid. c. The last third is a hotel, which will be visited by about 5,000 persons daily. d. Most of the stores in the mall will specialize in renewable energy, modern technology and electric cars. e. The financial returns of the mall will annually be = 30000 m2* $150 monthly rent per meter * 12 months - $54 million. f. There will be headquarters for startups working in the green economy and artificial intelligence.

[0325] 5) Electricity generated from the solar power station on the three faces of the pyramid

[0326] The electricity generated will worth about $1,000,000. Preferably, the cells should be photovoltaic thermal so that the electric and thermal power can be optimally made use of, as well as the spaces behind the panels as the temperature therein will be relatively moderate. However, it is difficult to determine the amount of generated electricity, and also its prices, as these differ from one country to another, taking factors like the number of the sunshine hours into account. As previously mentioned, this station will be distinctive for generating electricity for longer periods than the traditional ones. The solar power panels will be placed on three faces. Notably, the inclination angle of the Pyramid of Khufu is 52 degrees, which is that of the solar power panels in most of Europe, the northern United States, Canada, Moscow, Tokyo, and Beijing.

[0327] However, the technology pyramid can be built anywhere in the world because the electricity generated, as previously mentioned, does not have a great economic value compared to the other economic aspects of the pyramid. It is the promotion of renewable energy and the green economy in a building that millions of people can see every day that matters.

[0328] Also, this method will save space because the area of the three faces (south, east, and west) = 17578 * 3 = 52734 m2. If the construction is horizontal, approx. 50% of the land area will be built, while the other 50% will be left between the rows of the panels to allow their exposure to the sun. But in the vertical construction method, the entire area will be used. Thus, 50% of the area will be saved.

[0329] 12) Cost and feasibility study for a pyramidal vertical solar power station the size of the Pyramid of Menkaura

[0330] For building the technology pyramid at the height of 75 m and width of 120 m, an earth pyramid will be built inside the Pyramid of Menkaura with the dimensions of 80 m * 80 m * 50 m high. So, the approx, size will be = 80 * 80 * 50 * 0.3333 = approx. 100000 m3. This pyramid has the same design and function as the technology Pyramid of Khufu, mentioned in the previous section. A pyramid the size of the Pyramid of Khufu can be suitable for a large capital such as Beijing, London, etc. As for the Pyramid of Menkaura, it will be built around a small city with a population of about 5 million.

[0331] First: Cost:

[0332] 1- Calculating the floors whose floor is soil and do not have reinforced concrete:

[0333] First: the ground floor has 4 sides, each side is 100 meters long, 20 meters wide. So, 2000 * 4 sides = 8000 m2* $100 dollars = $800,000.

[0334] Second: the last floor at a height of 50 meters has an area of 44 * 44 = 1936 * $100 = approx. $193,600.

[0335] 2- Building 3 commercial and 4 hotel floors, the average area of each floor is 60 meters long, 10 meters wide = 600 * 7 floors = 4200 m2* $300 = $1,260,000.

[0336] 3- Area of the retaining wall is 80 meters long * 50 meters high = 8000 meters. So, the size of the reinforced concrete in the retaining wall is 8000 - 20 (wall thickness is 5 cm) = 400 m3of reinforced concrete. So, the cost is 400 m3* $150 (cost per cubic meter) = $60,000.

[0337] Note: If the wall is erected of brick, its cost will be 8000 meters * $10 = $80,000. So, this retaining wall, which supports the soil, is at the same time an alternative to the concrete structures that will carry the solar power panels and also to the brick walls in the mall.

[0338] 4- Cost of transporting and compacting the soil = 100000 m3of soil * $2 (transporting and compacting the soil) = $200,000.

[0339] 5- The area of the solar power will be a quarter of that of the power station in the Pyramid of Khufu, estimated at 4 million square meters, 0.25 * 4 million = $1,000,000.

[0340] 6- The area of the geogrid = the average width of the geogrid in the different layers 50 meters * 4 faces = 200 meters * 50 layers, each layer is one meter high * the depth of the geogrid in the soil, which is 20 meters = 200000 meters, 200000 meters * $0.5 = $100,000.

[0341] 7- Land cost = 14,400 m2* $20 (average price per square meter for a solar power station land with some facilities) = $288,000.

[0342] So, the total cost = $800,000 + $193,600 + $1,260,000 + $60,000 + $200,000 + $1,000,000 + $100,000 + $288,000 = 53.901.600.

[0343] Second: Economic Feasibility Study:

[0344] The first stage: Building the pyramid:

[0345] 1. Advertisements: $100 per minute * 60 minutes * 12 hours * 360 days = $9.25 million per annum.

[0346] Note 1 : the minute of an advertisement on Burj Khalifa costs $30,000 per minute.

[0347] Note 2: the minute of an advertisement on a billboard with an area of 16.7 * 10 meters = $3.2 (because it is monthly rent) = $100,000, $100,000 (60 * 24 * 30) = $2,3.

[0348] 2. Activity sectors inside the pyramid a. Shops on an area of 10,000 meters * $1,000 rent per meter per annum ($84 monthly) = $10 million. b. Regarding the hotel, only the profit of the two ballrooms on the last floor will be calculated: $10,000 * 300 days = $3 million per annum. c. The last third of the pyramid (panorama): 20,000 weekly visitors * 850 weeks = 1 million visitors per annum * $10 = $10 million per annum.

[0349] So, the annual profits = $25.9 million + $10 million + $3 million + $10 million = $48.9 million per annum.

[0350] The second stage: Building a compound around the pyramid:

[0351] Activity sectors outside the pyramid:

[0352] The following activities will be carried out after the construction and operation of the pyramid:

[0353] Commercial exhibitions,

[0354] Sports club, and Residential compound.

Claims

Claims1. Soil, the concrete wall and the geogrid will be used in constructing massive pyramid buildings to solve architectural, economic and security problems.

2. The method of building the base of the pyramid in the event that the construction area is not rocky or fragile, or the ground on which the pyramid will be erected should be reinforced for the safety of the building and to increase its lifespan, is related to substituting the soil unsuitable for construction with compacted soil, having the geogrid between its layers, as shown in images 31 and 32.3 Regarding the solar power cell pyramid (the technology pyramid), building a vertical solar power station in this method has several benefits. There will be a mall and an administrative center for green technology. This is why it is called the technology pyramid, as shown in images 43.4 The eight utilization methods, as previously mentioned in the utilization methods section, will be patented.5 The method of lifting the soil and sand with belts and pumps, as shown in images 28-30, implies placing a belt of 10 meters that ends at the beginning of another 10-meter belt and so on until the required height is reached. The belt capacity will be 250 m3per hour. Accordingly, these belts can lift 1,250,000 m3of soil * 250 days, 250 days * 20 working hours * 250 m3= 1,250,000 m3of soil.6 The soil and the retaining walls system will be used in the pyramids inside which a stadium will be built, or for the pyramids to be used as a thermal insulator in the extremely cold countries, as shown in image 33.7 The compaction work will be protected from rain and snow in the extremely cold countries, as shown in image 34.
