Aspects relate to a device characteristics report having a data structure that enables all device characteristics to be fetched from a device (e.g., a Universal Flash Storage (UFS) device) at once. Thus, a single query request command may be sent by a host (e.g., a UFS host) to retrieve a plurality of device characteristics (e.g., descriptors, flags, and / or attributes) of the device within a single device characteristics report that is sent in a query response from the device to the host. The device characteristics report may include at least a fixed portion that contains pre-defined fields within which a fixed set of two or more device characteristics may be included.
