Techniques for reducing a peak-to-average power ratio associated with a probabilistic amplitude shaping technique

Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter may obtain a sequence of information bits. The transmitter may generate, using at least a probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) technique, a set of symbols from the sequence of information bits, wherein the generation of the set of symbols using at least the PAS technique includes using at least one of a sign-bit-shaping technique or a selective-mapping technique. The transmitter may transmit, to a receiver, the set of symbols. Numerous other aspects are described.
