Abstract
This charging device comprises: a capacitor connected in parallel with a battery; an inverter circuit including a plurality of upper arm switches and lower arm switches; and a rotary electric machine having a plurality of coils respectively electrically connected to the plurality of upper arm switches and lower arm switches and constituting a plurality of phases. The charging device further comprises: a first connection line electrically connecting a positive electrode terminal of an external DC power supply and the high potential side terminal of the upper arm switches; and a second connection line electrically connecting the neutral point of the rotary electric machine and one end of the capacitor.
