A power supply system according to the present invention comprises: a primary side coil; a power transmission apparatus having a primary side circuit for feeding a pulse voltage resulted from switching a DC voltage which is obtained by rectifying and smoothing a commercial power supply to the primary side coil; a secondary side coil magnetically coupled to the primary side coil; and power reception equipment having a secondary side circuit for rectifying and smoothing voltage induced across the secondary side coil, wherein there is provided a power adjusting section for adjusting a level of power to be transmitted according to power required by the power reception equipment. The power adjusting section has, in the primary side circuit, a carrier wave oscillation circuit for supplying a carrier wave to the primary side coil, a demodulation circuit for demodulating a modulated signal transmitted from the secondary circuit and received by the primary side coil, and a power change-over section for selecting a level of power to be transmitted according to an information signal from the power reception equipment and demodulated by the demodulation circuit. The power adjusting section has, in the secondary side circuit, a modulation circuit for modulating the carrier wave fed from the carrier wave oscillation circuit and received by the secondary side coil with the information signal from the power reception equipment and transmitting the modulated signal.

Stretchable and elastic interconnects

The present invention relates to stretchable interconnects which can be made in various geometric configurations, depending on the intended application. The stretchable interconnects can be formed of an electrically conducting film or an elastomer material to provide elastic properties in which the interconnects can be reversibly stretched in order to stretch and relax the elastomer material to its original configuration. Alternatively, stretchable interconnects can be formed of an electrically conducting film or a plastic material to provide stretching of the material to a stretched position and retaining the stretched configuration. The stretchable interconnect can be formed of a flat 2-dimensional conductive film covering an elastomeric or plastic substrate. When this structure is stretched in one or two dimensions, it retains electrical conduction in both dimensions. Alternatively, the stretchable and/or elastic interconnects can be formed of a film or stripe that is formed on an elastomeric or plastic substrate such that it is buckled randomly, or organized in waves with long-range periodicity. The buckling or waves can be induced by various techniques, including: release of built-in stress of the conductive film or conductive stripe; pre-stretching the substrate prior to the fabrication of the conductive film or conductive stripe; and patterning of the surface of the substrate prior to the fabrication of the metal film. The stretchable interconnect can be formed of a plurality of conductive films or conductive stripes embedded between a plurality of layers of a substrate formed of an elastomer or plastic.

Auditing and tracking changes of data and code in spreadsheets and other documents

In a first aspect, the invention provides a system for monitoring and auditing data in one or more spreadsheets. The system comprises a file store within which files containing spreadsheet data can be stored, a database, and monitoring means. The monitoring means is operative to detect changes in spreadsheet data within the file store and to record the changes in the database. Changes in a spreadsheet over time may thus be monitored and recorded. In another aspect the system comprises an entity selector for selecting one or more entities in a spreadsheet, and a tracker for tracking the shift in position of the selected entities between two time points. An offset determinator is arranged to derive one or more offset values from information received from the tracker, the offset values representing the shift in position of the entities in the spreadsheet. An offset applicator applies the offset values to the spreadsheet data before comparing the spreadsheet data with a version of the spreadsheet data at a different time point. Shifting of entities resulting from insertion or deletion of rows and columns or sorting are thus taken into account when comparing spreadsheets. In a further aspect, the invention provides a system for processing and storing spreadsheets. The system comprises a determining unit arranged to determine each unique formula occurring within a spreadsheet, a first store for storing each unique formula, a second store for storing a unique identification for each unique formula, and a replacing unit arranged to replace each formula occurring within the spreadsheet with its corresponding formula identification. More efficient storage of formulas is thus achieved.
