Abstract

The present invention relates to the design of a safe drill bit by forming a shear zone in the drill bit shank to prevent medical accidents during surgery and to prevent material loss during machining process; the shear zone is formed in the shank portion of the drill bit, which has a semicircular, triangular shape from the outer diameter to the circumferential direction; depending on the material, hardness, and shape of the drill bit, the fracture strength of the front end is set to approximately 70% to 90% compared to the drill bit body.
