The invention discloses a video social method and a video social device, wherein the video social method and the video social device belong to the field of Internet application. The video social method comprises the steps of displaying a video social interface on a first display terminal, wherein a video acquiring control is arranged in the video social interface; when the video acquiring control is triggered, transmitting a video acquiring request which carries characteristic information of a user who logs on the first display terminal; and receiving and displaying a video link of the video which is recommended to the first display terminal according to the characteristic information. According to the video social method and the video social device, after triggering of the video acquiring control is detected, the characteristic information of the user is transmitted to the server, and furthermore the video which is matched with the user by the server according to the characteristic information of the user is displayed. Because the appropriate video can be matched with the user according to the characteristic information of the user, a problem of relatively low video social efficiency caused by high difficulty in quickly finding the interested video by the user is settled, thereby realizing an effect of improving the video social efficiency.
