Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a light alkane conversion catalyst, a preparation method and application thereof, and specifically to a light alkane conversion catalyst, especially a catalyst capable of converting C4-C6 alkanes into their corresponding isomers, and a preparation method and application thereof. Background Art
[0002] C4-C6 light alkanes are valuable light hydrocarbon resources. Isobutane, in addition to being used in the production of alkylate, is also a feedstock for chemical processes such as isobutane dehydrogenation, C3 / C4 mixed dehydrogenation, and propylene / isobutane co-oxidation to produce propylene oxide and methyl tert-butyl ether (PO / MTBE). n-Butane is a feedstock for steam cracking to produce ethylene and oxidation to produce maleic anhydride. n-Pentane and n-hexane are high-quality feedstocks for ethylene cracking. Isopentane and highly branched C6 isoparaffins are important high-octane gasoline blending components.
[0003] In recent years, my country's gasoline upgrading has accelerated, with new gasoline standards placing stricter requirements on olefins and aromatics. The National V gasoline standard stipulates olefin and aromatic content of 24% and 40% by volume, respectively, compared to 15% and 35% by volume, respectively, for the National VIB standard. Olefins and aromatics are high-octane components, and restrictions on their content require the addition of other high-octane components. Isoparaffins, with their high octane rating, effectively adjust the octane distribution of the gasoline pool and improve vehicle starting performance, and are considered the "ultimate" blending component of the gasoline pool. Isobutane-butene alkylation and C5 / C6 isomerization, as the primary means of producing light isoparaffins, have become supporting technologies for gasoline upgrading. They have gained widespread application in recent years, driving a rapid increase in demand for isobutane and C5 / C6 isomerization feedstocks.
[0004] With rapid economic development and industrial restructuring, the chemical industry has entered a boom cycle. As the leading chemical industry, ethylene plants have released significant production capacity, with a clear trend toward larger plants and lighter raw materials. The acquisition of high-quality ethylene cracking feedstock, including C4-C6 normal alkanes, is gaining increasing attention. Furthermore, with rising environmental awareness and the implementation of policies such as the plastic ban, biodegradable materials face enormous development opportunities. Maleic anhydride, a key raw material for the production of biodegradable materials, has seen its price rise rapidly, creating a growing demand gap. Many companies are planning and constructing maleic anhydride plants. n-Butane is an essential raw material for the oxidation process of maleic anhydride, and its price accounts for over 80% of the production cost. Obtaining sufficient n-butane is a matter of great concern and urgent concern for maleic anhydride companies.
[0005] With the continuous increase in refining and chemical capacity, a large amount of C4-C6 alkanes are produced as by-products in reforming, hydrogenation, extraction, cracking and other units. These light alkanes are usually mixed alkanes. Although the resources are abundant, separation alone often cannot meet the personalized needs of downstream users for normal alkanes or isoalkanes. Corresponding conversion technologies are urgently needed to achieve flexible conversion of normal and isoalkanes.
[0006] The technology for isomerization of light alkanes is relatively mature, with catalysts at its core. There are three main types of catalyst systems. The first is a Pt- or Pd-loaded molecular sieve (usually mordenite or β molecular sieve), also known as a medium-temperature molecular sieve catalyst. The isomerization reaction temperature is 240-280°C. The second is typically a Pt-loaded sulfated zirconium oxide catalyst, also known as a solid superacid catalyst, with a reaction temperature of 170-210°C. The third is a Pt-loaded chlorided alumina catalyst, also known as a low-temperature catalyst, with a reaction temperature of 120-200°C.
[0007] Among the three types of light alkane isomerization catalysts, low-temperature catalysts offer the highest isomerization activity and the lowest isomerization reaction temperature, making them widely used worldwide. These catalysts are typically supported on alumina and prepared by first introducing Pt to create a Pt / Al2O3 base catalyst. This base catalyst is then treated with a chlorine-containing reagent to produce a chlorinated alumina catalyst with a high chlorine content.
[0008] CN104549376B discloses a method for preparing an alkane isomerization catalyst, comprising the steps of impregnating a carrier alumina with a solution containing a Group VIII metal compound, drying the impregnated solid, calcining or treating with water and chlorine, then impregnating with an alkane solution containing an alkylaluminum chloride, and then drying in the presence of an inert gas under anhydrous conditions to produce a catalyst. The catalyst has a Group VIII metal content of 0.01-3.0% by mass and a chlorine content of 4.0-10.0% by mass, calculated on a dry basis on the alumina. Although this preparation method has a high initial activity, due to the lack of high-temperature treatment after loading the alkylaluminum chloride, excess alkylaluminum chloride is physically adsorbed on the catalyst. The alkylaluminum chloride itself also has strong isomerization performance, so the catalyst exhibits a high initial isomerization activity. However, under isomerization reaction conditions, the physically adsorbed alkylaluminum chloride gradually desorbs from the catalyst surface and enters the reaction mass, where it is carried away. As the alkylaluminum chloride is lost from the catalyst, the catalyst performance continuously declines.
[0009] US6150296A discloses a method for preparing a hydrocarbon isomerization catalyst. The method includes first preparing a composition containing a Group VIII noble metal and an alumina support, then contacting the composition with a hydrocarbyl aluminum compound for reaction. The resulting solid product is activated with a hydrogen-containing gas at a temperature above 500°C to obtain an isomerization catalyst having a chlorine content exceeding 2.5% by mass. The catalyst prepared by this method has low activity.
[0010] US5004859A discloses a method for preparing an alkane isomerization catalyst. The method involves impregnating an alumina strip carrier with an aqueous solution of chloroplatinic acid, followed by drying, water-chlorine activation, and reduction to produce a Pt-containing base catalyst. The Pt-containing base catalyst is then treated with AlCl vapor carried by hydrogen at 550°C for 45 minutes to produce the catalyst. The catalyst prepared by this method has insufficient acid sites and low isomerization activity.
[0011] US6297418B1 discloses a method for preparing a chlorided alumina-type alkane isomerization catalyst, comprising first impregnating a spherical or strip-shaped carrier of γ-type and / or η-type alumina with an aqueous solution of chloroplatinic acid, then drying and calcining, and finally chlorinating with CCl4 to obtain a catalyst having a chlorine content of 4.5% to 15% by mass.
[0012] CN104117369B discloses a method for preparing a normal alkane isomerization catalyst. The method comprises impregnating a γ-Al2O3 carrier with chloroplatinic acid, drying, oxidizing, and reducing the carrier. The resulting product is then inorganically chlorinated with AlCl3. The inorganic chlorination product is then organically chlorinated with one or both of CCl4 and C2H6AlCl to obtain the isomerization catalyst. The mass of AlCl3 is 15-50% of the mass of the γ-Al2O3 carrier, and the volume of the organic chlorinating agent is 30-50% of the volume of the γ-Al2O3 carrier.
[0013] There are few reports on the conversion of isoparaffins into normal paraffins. CN110385142A discloses a catalyst for isobutane normalization reaction and its preparation method. The catalyst uses MCM-41 molecular sieve as a carrier and Pt / SO4 2- / ZrO2 is the active component. The MCM-41 carrier is first impregnated with a zirconium salt solution and a sulfate solution, and then dried and calcined to produce SO4 2- / ZrO2-MCM-41, and then introducing Pt by the equal volume impregnation method to produce a solid superacid catalyst. This catalyst is used in the normalization reaction of isobutane at a reaction temperature of 150-350°C, a pressure of 1.5-4.5 MPa, an isobutane mass space velocity of 0.5-3.0 h⁻¹, and a hydrogen to isobutane feed volume ratio of 200:1. Summary of the Invention
[0014] One of the purposes of the present application is to provide a preparation method of light alkane conversion catalyst to solve the problems of low acid center formation density, low activity, partial destruction at high temperature and poor stability in the prior art. Another purpose of the present application is to provide a light alkane conversion catalyst. A third purpose of the present application is to provide the application of the light alkane conversion catalyst.
[0015] To achieve one of the purposes of the present application, the present application provides a preparation method of light alkane conversion catalyst, which comprises the following steps:
[0016] (1) impregnating an alumina carrier with an aqueous solution containing a platinum compound, drying, calcining and then reducing to obtain a catalyst precursor;
[0017] (2) protecting the catalyst precursor in (1) with an inert gas and impregnating with a hydrocarbon solution of alkyl aluminum chloride, and then removing the solvent to obtain a pre-chlorinated product;
[0018] (3) supplementally chlorinating the pre-chlorinated product in (2) with AlCl3 sublimated at 450-700℃ carried by H2 carrier gas to obtain a catalyst, the Pt content of which is 0.01-1.0% by mass based on dry basis alumina.
[0019] To achieve the second purpose of the present application, the present application further provides a light alkane conversion catalyst prepared by the above-mentioned method of the present application.
[0020] To achieve the third purpose of the present application, the present application further provides the application of the above-mentioned light alkane conversion catalyst.
[0021] The preparation method provided by the present application can first occupy the hydroxyl groups on the surface of the carrier in the base catalyst through pre-chlorination of alkyl aluminum chloride. During the heating process before the supplementally chlorination of AlCl3, the excess alkyl aluminum chloride is removed, at this time most of the hydroxyl groups have reacted to form —OAlCl2. The supplementally chlorination of AlCl3 chlorinates the remaining hydroxyl groups, thereby increasing the density of —OAlCl2 as much as possible. In addition, HCl is also generated during the supplementally chlorination of AlCl3. Since the surface of the catalyst at this time is mainly —OAlCl2, HCl will combine with —OAlCl2 to form a part of —OAlCl3 - H + The method of the present application has a higher acid center density than the prior art, and contains a part of —OAlCl3 with very high activity - H + Therefore, the catalyst prepared by the method of the present application exhibits excellent isomerization activity. In addition, since the catalyst undergoes high temperature during the preparation process, there is no physically adsorbed chlorine-containing species on the surface of the catalyst, so the catalyst composition is stable and exhibits good activity stability.
