Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a household appliance, in particular to a cooking appliance with a treatment chamber arranged within an appliance housing and accessible through an appliance door, and with an accessory part assigned to at least one treatment criterion, which accessory part can be removed from a rest position within a storage compartment provided in the appliance and can be used in a use position.
[0002] In a known household appliance (EP 1 795 989 B1), this is connected in a signaling manner to an accessory part that can be moved back and forth between a use position and a rest position on the household appliance. In the rest position, the accessory part is parked in a storage device that is integrated within the metal door element of the appliance door. The accessory part, designed as a temperature probe, is therefore located in an area of the appliance that is thermally closely connected to the extremely heated or, in the case of freezers, cooled treatment chamber. For example, in an oven, the door element that closes the cooking chamber is usually formed from at least one inner and one front glass pane, between which a temperature prevails when the cooking chamber becomes extremely hot that is too high for peripheral front parts of the oven, such as the door front surface or, in particular, the door handle, and which, for example, must be reduced by a forced flow of cooling air through the door element or by other thermal insulation in order to maintain a lower temperature on peripheral parts of the device.
[0003] The subsequently published EP 2 239 510 A2 also discloses a household appliance with an accessory which is arranged in a peripheral component of the household appliance which is insulated from appliance areas whose operating temperature deviates significantly from the ambient temperature.
[0004] Furthermore, DE 10 2007 041 882 A1 discloses a household appliance with an accessory which is arranged in a peripheral component of the household appliance.
[0005] The object of the invention is to design a household appliance of the type mentioned above in such a way that the accessory is easily accessible at any time and protected from excessively high temperatures.
[0006] This object is achieved according to the invention in that the storage compartment is arranged in a peripheral component of the appliance, which is insulated from appliance areas whose operating temperature differs significantly from the ambient temperature, wherein the storage compartment is arranged in the handle of the appliance door. Furthermore, the handle is firmly connected to the appliance door, with the handle projecting freely above the front panel or front panel of the appliance door.
[0007] Thanks to the inventive measure, the accessory parked for communication with or use with the household appliance is located in an appliance area protected from extremely high or low temperatures. To prevent wireless communication between the parked accessory and the appliance control unit, the storage compartment is electromagnetically shielded, e.g., by being made of metallic material.
[0008] The handle is the component of the front door and the entire device housing that, due to legal requirements, must not exceed a touchable temperature. The accessory can be accessed from this storage compartment outside the front of the device door at any time, even during operation, for example, to check the current treatment conditions in the treatment room.
[0009] To ensure that the accessory is parked and removed in a secure and stable position, the storage compartment is provided with locking devices that can be locked onto the accessory.
[0010] The handle that holds the storage compartment is the part of the household appliance that is used most manually and is therefore protected against careless removal, in particular signal-transmitting activation of the accessory, by the fact that the accessory can be inserted into the storage compartment flush with the contour of the handle and the contour of the handle has a gripping recess for the accessory.
[0011] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the accessory is designed as a sensing instrument for predetermined treatment criteria for the item being treated in the treatment chamber, preferably in the cooking chamber, such as temperature, core temperature, humidity, impedance, and is preferably designed as a sensor spike that can be inserted into the item being treated.
[0012] The invention is explained below in the drawing using a cooking appliance designed as an oven.
[0013] It shows: Fig. 1 the front view of an oven; Fig. 2 schematic representation of the oven door with handle and insertable accessory; Fig. 3 the handle according to Fig. 2 as a detail with inserted accessory; Fig. 4 a part of the handle with inserted accessory and snap connection; Fig. 5 a part of the handle with the accessory inserted flush; Fig. 6 a part of the handle with inserted accessory and indicated retraction mechanism.
[0014] The oven according to Fig. 1 has a treatment chamber / cooking chamber inside a device housing 1, the front loading opening of which can be closed by a device door 2, which device door 2 has a long, e.g. according to Fig. 2 to 6 has a handle 3 with a round or oval cross-section. Above the appliance door 2, on the front of the housing 4, there are display and operating elements 5 for controlling the heating elements used for cooking. The handle 3 is firmly connected to the appliance door 2 and projects freely above the front panel or front panel of the appliance door 2, as shown in Fig. 2 indicated.
[0015] In Fig. 2, such a handle 3 is attached to the appliance door 2 by means of indicated holding elements 6. The handle 3 has at least partially a hollow space, which represents a storage compartment 7, into which a sensor probe 8 forming a sensor instrument can be inserted in a rest or storage position. The sensor probe 8 can be used, in a use position outside the storage compartment 7, to be inserted into the food to be cooked inside the cooking chamber, e.g., a piece of meat, for the purpose of measuring the core temperature, humidity, impedance, or the like, and for the preferably wireless transmission of the sensed signals to the appliance control system and / or to the display 4 according to Fig. 1. These signals can be used to control the oven. To prevent such wireless communication between the sensor probe 8 parked in the storage compartment 7 and an antenna of the appliance control unit when not in use, the storage compartment 7 is electrically insulated from the outside, e.g., by a metallic shielding lining or by being made of metallic material itself.
[0016] Fig. 3 shows the sensor spike 8 in the rest or parked position inserted into the storage compartment 7, in which the sensor spike 8 fits flush with the contour of the handle 3. For convenient removal, the lateral contour of the handle 3 has a gripping recess 9 according to Fig. 5, which is slightly overhanged by a grip flange 10 of the sensor spike 8.
[0017] In order to ensure that the sensor spike 8 is held securely in the storage compartment 7, the sensor spike 8 has Fig. 4 groove-like incisions 10, into which resilient locking means 11 in the form of locking lugs can engage when the sensor spike 8 is inserted.
[0018] Finally, according to Fig. 6 on the rear limit of the storage compartment 7 in the direction of insertion (arrow) a retracting mechanism 12 (not shown in detail) is arranged, which, in the manner of the ballpoint pen principle, releases a spring force when pressure is applied to the recessed sensor spike 8, which Fig. 4 pushes the locked sensor spike 8 into a manageable position outside the storage compartment 7 while overcoming the locking force of the locking means 11.
