AI Technical Summary
Existing electric cooking devices with grill and barbecue modes suffer from poor ergonomics due to restricted access and limited visibility of the user interface, and they do not allow for efficient collection of cooking juices.
A cooking device with a first structure containing a hob and a second structure with a baking sheet, a grip handle, and a pivot bond allowing the second structure to pivot between a closing and maximum opening position. The user interface is placed on the grip handle and is accessible in both grill and barbecue modes, with the ability to collect cooking juices from the front.
The solution provides improved ergonomics and accessibility of the user interface in both cooking modes, while allowing for efficient collection of cooking juices, enhancing the overall usability and functionality of the cooking device.
Description
Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates generally to a cooking appliance for cooking food products, and in particular to an electric cooking appliance capable of operating in a grill mode and a barbecue mode. State of the art
[0002] It is known from the prior art to use an electric cooking appliance allowing two different cooking modes, namely a first cooking mode called "grill" mode and a second cooking mode called "barbecue" mode. Such an electric cooking appliance generally comprises: a first structure comprising a first cooking plate; a second structure comprising a second cooking plate, the second structure being hingedly mounted relative to the first structure about a pivot axis; and a user interface which is provided on the first structure and which is configured to allow a user to select at least one operating parameter of the electric cooking appliance.
[0003] The electric cooking appliance as known in the prior art can alternately occupy the “grill” mode in which a food is intended to be enclosed and cooked between the first and second cooking plates, and the “barbecue” mode in which the first and second cooking plates are spaced apart at 180° so as to be substantially in the same plane, said plane being generally horizontal when the cooking appliance rests on a horizontal surface.
[0004] The cooking appliance as described in the prior art advantageously allows a single household appliance to be used to fulfill two distinct functions: that of a food grill, and that of a barbecue.
[0005] However, the integration of the user interface in the first structure, i.e. on the lower part of the electric cooking appliance, has the disadvantage of improved ergonomics due to the restricted physical access as well as the limited visibility of the user on the user interface. Also, such an arrangement of the user interface prevents the collection of cooking juices from a front face of the first structure.
[0006] The integration of the user interface on a more accessible area, such as on the second structure, is made complex due to the cohabitation of the two modes of use which requires the second structure to occupy two orientations offset by 180° depending on the mode of use of the electric cooking appliance. Document US2007 / 119442A1 discloses a cooking appliance of the prior art. Summary of the invention
