Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Packaging assembly for a product, particularly a cosmetic product.
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of packaging a product, in particular a cosmetic product.
[0002] For the purposes of the present invention, the term “cosmetic product” means in particular a product as defined in Regulation (EC) No. 1223 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 relating to cosmetic products.
[0003] More particularly, the packaging device according to the present invention is intended for packaging a cosmetic product, such as, for example, a liquid, viscous or pasty product and in particular creams or a solid product such as a tablet, powder, compacted powder.
[0004] More particularly, the invention relates to a packaging device made mainly from paper pulp formed into a three-dimensional object using a wet or dry molded cellulose process.
[0005] Document EP 0 808 774 - B1 is known, which describes a cup-shaped packaging comprising an outer cardboard part, an inner part made of a polypropylene film and an adhesive located between said parts.
[0006] However, the polypropylene film or other barrier polymer film requires bonding or adhesion over the entire internal surface of the outer part, which involves strongly stretching the plastic film to cover the edges and corners of said internal surface and therefore requires choosing a film of significant thickness before stretching to obtain the minimum thickness capable of ensuring the preservation performance after stretching, which generates a significant quantity of plastic film.
[0007] Furthermore, it is difficult for the user to use the entire product contained in the packaging, particularly at the base which has edges.
[0008] The proposal of eco-responsible, environmentally friendly solutions, the design and development of which take environmental issues into account, is becoming a major concern to help meet global challenges.
[0009] It is therefore essential to design products that reduce the quantity of materials used and / or replace them with more environmentally friendly materials and / or use recyclable materials in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the product.
[0010] In this context, it is important to develop packaging that generates less waste, in particular optimized for the quantity of products transported, especially in redesigning and / or resizing them to reduce the volume and weight of the packaging.
[0011] The objective is to offer eco-responsible containers made mainly from cardboard in order to reduce the carbon footprint of packaging devices.
[0012] The present invention is part of this approach to developing containers for the field of cosmetic products, and in particular care products, for example a cream, with a view to its application to the epidermis of a user, or even a makeup product, such as for example foundation or blush.
[0013] There is thus a need to improve the packaging devices for a cosmetic product, in particular packaging devices made at least 80% from cardboard.
[0014] The present invention therefore aims to overcome the above drawbacks and to improve product packaging assemblies, in particular but not exclusively made of at least 80% cellulosic fibers, preferably at least 90% cellulosic fibers, in order to improve the restitution of the product contained in the device.
[0015] Another objective of the invention is to optimize the installation of an impermeable film inside the product packaging assembly.
[0016] The subject of the invention is a packaging assembly for a product, in particular a cosmetic product, comprising a container extending along an elevation axis comprising an external layer and an internal layer secured to each other irreversibly by means of an adhesive.
[0017] The outer layer comprises a body extending along the elevation axis and delimiting an internal housing for receiving the inner layer. The body of the outer layer is delimited by a side wall, a closed lower end forming a bottom and an open upper end, opposite the lower end and allowing access to the internal housing.
[0018] The inner layer comprises a body delimiting a space for receiving the product.
[0019] The body of the inner layer of the container is delimited by an upper part in shape matching the side wall of the body of the outer layer and a lower part having a concave profile diverging from the profile of the side wall of the body of the outer layer, so that a space remains between the lower part of the inner layer and the inner surface of the side wall of the body of the outer layer.
[0020] In other words, the container forms a pot with double layers superimposed and irreversibly secured to each other, that is to say not removable from each other.
[0021] The concave profile makes it easier to return the product contained in the product reception area.
[0022] The concave profile also makes it possible to avoid edges and corners and reduces the amount of material used, for example when covering with a waterproof or impermeable coating.
[0023] Furthermore, the space remaining between the lower part of the inner layer and the inner surface of the side wall of the body of the outer layer makes it easier to install by suction a waterproof or impermeable coating on the inner surface of the inner layer.
[0024] Advantageously, the lower part of the internal layer has a generally semi-spherical or elliptical shape.
[0025] For example, the lower portion of the inner layer comprises a lower end in axial contact with the inner surface of the lower end of the outer layer. This allows for sufficient attachment contact points between the inner layer and the outer layer.
[0026] Alternatively, axial clearance could be provided between the lower end of the lower part of the inner layer and the inner surface of the lower end of the outer layer.
[0027] Advantageously, the upper part has a generally cylindrical shape, extending from the lower part to an open end allowing access to the product receiving space, the upper part of the internal layer being in radial contact with the internal surface of the body of the external layer of the container.
[0028] For example, the body of the outer layer of the container has a generally cylindrical shape along the elevation axis.
[0029] Alternatively, any other shape could be provided for the body of the outer layer, for example parallelepiped. It could also be provided that the outer surface of the body of the outer layer is parallelepiped and that the inner surface of said body is cylindrical or elliptical.
[0030] Advantageously, the outer layer further comprises a lower annular rim extending radially from the upper end of the body of the outer layer outwards and the inner layer further comprises an upper annular rim extending radially from the open end of the upper part of the inner layer outwards. Said inner layer and said outer layer are secured to each other by means of the adhesive located at least between said annular rims of said layers.
[0031] Alternatively, the adhesive is also located radially between the side wall of the body of the outer layer of the container and the upper portion of the inner layer of the container.
[0032] Advantageously, the upper annular rim of the inner layer of the container comprises an annular axial projection with a diameter greater than the internal diameter of the inner layer and less than the external diameter of the upper edge of said inner layer. Such an annular axial projection makes it possible to delimit and heat seal the lid if necessary. This feature makes it possible to limit the peeling of the film during opening and closing operations carried out by the user. The lidding film can be of any type, plastic, paper or aluminum.
[0033] According to one embodiment, one side of each annular rim of the corresponding layer of the container comprises a notch intended to cooperate with a retaining tab of a lid, said notches being axially superimposed along the elevation axis.
[0034] According to one embodiment, the layers of the container are made of paper pulp, in particular molded paper pulp.
[0035] The preparation of a paper pulp or cellulosic fibers can be carried out from wood but also from cotton, from any fibrous plant material. The preparation of a paper pulp is known per se and will not be described further.
[0036] Advantageously, at least 80% of the container is made of cellulose fibers. Alternatively, any other material forming the container could be provided.
[0037] According to one embodiment, the assembly comprises a waterproof or impermeable coating in contact with the internal surface of the internal layer of the container.
[0038] By “watertight or impermeable coating” is meant a coating configured to not allow fluid to pass through.
[0039] The waterproof coating makes it possible to seal the container in order to make it resistant to a wet product.
[0040] For example, the waterproof coating is made by a polymer film chosen from the group comprising at least polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide (PA), polylactic acid (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), butylene adipate-co-terephthalate (PBAT), polyethylene furanoate (PEF), polybutylene succinate (PBS), algae or algae derivative, Surlyn®, polyketone (PK) or ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) or a mixture or any laminated combination.
[0041] The coating could also be ensured by the deposition of a layer from a powder (for example polyethylene (PE), polyamide (PA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polyethylene furanoate (PEF), etc.), a molten wax or an emulsion / latex of the acrylic, styrene-acrylic, styrene-butadiene type, wax microemulsion or any other barrier formulation, a dispersion of PE, PLA, PHA or any other type of barrier polymer in dispersion, a solution, such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), alginate, agar agar or any other combination of natural or synthetic polymers.
[0042] The coating could be achieved by a combination of the two approaches
[0043] For example, the waterproof coating may be a film positioned on the corresponding internal surface by lamination, i.e. by stretching the internal layer towards the bottom.
[0044] Skin packaging, or "skin packaging" in English terms, is a packaging technique consisting of applying a flexible plastic film to an object by suction through a porous support.
[0045] The waterproof coating is thus formed on the inner layer of the container, or of the container and the lid.
[0046] In the case of the application of the waterproof coating by the film coating technique, the particular shape of the internal layer and in particular the absence of adhesive on the lower semi-spherical part, make it easier to apply the coating by suction, as well as to use a thinner film since it is less stretched in the bottom compared to a conventional container with edges.
[0047] Alternatively, the waterproof coating may be positioned on the corresponding internal surface by a jet of liquid in fine droplets launched by a sprayer, known as "spraying" or by dipping the object in a liquid, known as "dip coating" in Anglo-Saxon terms or by a transfer technology, called pad printing or "pad printing" in Anglo-Saxon terms.
[0048] The particular shape of the internal layer makes it possible to harmonize the thickness of the waterproof coating without presenting any excess thickness.
[0049] According to one embodiment, the assembly comprises a container closure cover hinged relative to said container between a container opening position and a container closing position.
[0050] Advantageously, the lid comprises an outer layer and an inner layer, for example superimposed, secured to each other irreversibly by means of an additional adhesive, the outer layer of the lid extending in the extension of the outer layer of the container and the inner layer of the lid extending in the extension of the inner layer of the container, the lid being connected to the container by means of a hinge, for example a so-called "film" hinge.
[0051] For example, the outer layer of the cover comprises a body of generally cylindrical shape and extending along the elevation axis in the closed position. Alternatively, any other shape could be provided for the body of the outer layer, for example parallelepiped.
[0052] For example, the body of the outer layer of the lid is in shape matching the body of the outer layer of the container.
[0053] For example, the inner layer and the outer layer of the cover are made of shape concordance.
[0054] Advantageously, the outer layer of the cover comprises a body delimiting an internal housing for receiving the internal layer of the cover, said body being delimited by a first closed end and a second open end, opposite the first end and allowing access to the internal housing.
[0055] For example, the outer layer of the lid further comprises a lower annular rim extending radially from the second end of the body of the outer layer outwardly, said lower annular rim of the lid being connected to the lower annular rim of the container by the hinge.
[0056] Advantageously, the inner layer of the lid comprises a body, for example delimiting an internal cavity, and delimited by a first closed end and a second open end, opposite the first end and, for example allowing access to the internal cavity, the inner layer of the lid further comprising an upper annular rim extending radially from the second end of the body of the inner layer towards the outside, said upper annular rim of the lid being connected to the upper annular rim of the container by the hinge.
[0057] For example, the inner layer and the outer layer of the cover are secured to each other by means of the additional adhesive located at least between the annular edges of said layers.
[0058] According to one embodiment, one side of each annular rim of the corresponding layer of the lid, on the side opposite the hinge, comprises a retaining tab intended to cooperate with the notch of the container provided on one side of each annular rim of the corresponding layer of the container.
[0059] For example, the retaining tabs are axially superimposed along the elevation axis.
[0060] Advantageously, in the closed position, in which the lid is located axially above the container, the retaining tabs cooperate with the notches of the container to hold the lid in the closed position.
[0061] The layers of the cover are preferably made of paper pulp, in particular molded paper pulp.
[0062] The adhesive and / or additional adhesive located between the inner and outer layers of the container and the container and the lid is preferably made from paper glue such as starch glues, oxidized starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, vinyl glues, vinyl acetate, ethylene vinyl acetate, but any other type of adhesive compatible with the nature of the paper could be suitable such as proteins (casein, gelatin), acrylic, cyano-acrylic, silicone, polyurethane...
[0063] For example, the waterproof coating is arranged on the internal surface of the layer internal part of the cover.
[0064] Other aims, characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
[0065] [Fig.l] represents a perspective view of a product packaging assembly according to one embodiment of the invention, in the open position;
[0066] [Fig.2] is a side view of the whole of [Fig.l], in the open position;
[0067] [Fig.3] is a side view of the whole of [Fig.l], in the open position; and
[0068] [Fig.4] is a top view of the whole of [Fig.l], in the open position.
[0069] In the remainder of the description, we consider an orthonormal base X, Y, Z, with Z corresponding to an elevation or elongation axis representing the vertical direction in which we find:
[0070] - a longitudinal axis X, horizontal;
[0071] - a transverse axis Y, horizontal, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X; and
[0072] - a vertical axis Z, orthogonal to the longitudinal axes X and transverse Y and extending from bottom to top on [Fig.3].
[0073] The expressions “upper” and “lower” refer to the upper part and the lower part of the figures.
[0074] The terms "interior" or "internal" and "exterior" or "external" refer to the interior of the product packaging assembly, the internal or interior portions being closer to the elevation axis Z-Z' than the external or exterior portions.
[0075] As illustrated in Figures 1 to 4, a product packaging assembly 1 comprises a container 10 and a lid 20 for closing said container 10.
[0076] The container 10 extends axially along an axis Z-Z' assumed to be vertical in [Fig.3].
[0077] The container 10 comprises an outer layer 12 and an inner layer 14 which are integral from each other irreversibly by means of an adhesive 16.
[0078] The container 10 forms a pot with double layers superimposed and secured to each other irreversibly, that is to say not removable from each other.
[0079] The outer layer 12 comprises a body 12a of generally cylindrical shape and extending along the elevation axis Z-Z' assumed to be vertical in the figures. Alternatively, any other shape could be provided for the body of the outer layer 12, for example parallelepiped.
[0080] The body 12a delimits an internal housing 12b for receiving the internal layer 14.
[0081] The body 12a of the external layer 12 is delimited by a side wall (not referenced), here cylindrical, a closed lower end 12c forming a bottom and an open upper end 12d, opposite the lower end 12c and allowing access to the internal housing 12b.
[0082] The outer layer 12 further comprises a lower annular rim 12e extending radially from the upper end 12d of the body 12a of the outer layer 12.
[0083] The internal layer 14 comprises a body 14a delimiting a space 17 for receiving a product.
[0084] The body 14a is delimited by a lower part 14b, forming a bottom, of generally semi-spherical shape, the lower end of which is, here, in axial contact with the internal surface of the lower end 12c of the external layer 12. This axial contact makes it possible to have sufficient fixing contact points between the internal layer and the external layer.
[0085] Alternatively, axial clearance could be provided between the lower end of the lower part of the inner layer and the inner surface of the lower end of the outer layer.
[0086] The body 14a further comprises an upper part 14c, of generally cylindrical shape, extending from the lower part 14b to an open end 14d allowing access to the space 17 for receiving the product.
[0087] The upper part 14c of the inner layer 14 is in radial contact with the inner surface of the side wall of the body 12a of the outer layer 12. In other words, a space remains between the lower part 14b of the inner layer 14 and the inner surface of the side wall of the body 12a of the outer layer 12.
[0088] The inner layer 14 further comprises an upper annular rim 14e extending radially from the upper end 14d of the upper portion 14c of the inner layer 14.
[0089] Generally, the inner layer 14 comprises an upper portion 14c in shape matching the side wall of the body 12a of the outer layer 12 and a lower portion 14b having a profile diverging from the profile of the side wall of the body 12a of the outer layer 12.
[0090] The lower part 14b having a concave profile makes it easier to return the product contained in the product reception space 17.
[0091] The inner layer 14 and the outer layer 12 are made integral by an adhesive 16 located between said layers 12, 14 at least between the annular edges 14e, 12e.
[0092] The adhesive 16 may also be located radially between the side wall 12a of the outer layer 12 and the upper portion 14c of the inner layer 14.
[0093] As illustrated, and in a non-limiting manner, one side of each annular rim 12e, 14e of the corresponding layer 12, 14 comprises a notch 12f, 14f intended to cooperate with a retaining tab of the cover 20.
[0094] The notches 12f, 14f are axially superimposed along the elevation axis Z-Z'.
[0095] The layers 12, 14 of the container 10 are preferably made of paper pulp, especially in molded paper pulp.
[0096] The preparation of a paper pulp can be carried out from wood but also from cotton, or in theory from any fibrous plant material. The preparation of a paper pulp is known per se and will not be described further.
[0097] As illustrated, and in a non-limiting manner, the upper edge 14e of the inner layer 14 comprises an annular axial projection 15 with a diameter greater than the inner diameter of the inner layer 14 and less than the outer diameter of the upper edge 14e of said inner layer 14. This annular axial projection 15 makes it possible to delimit and heat-seal the lid if necessary. This feature makes it possible to limit the peeling of the film during use during opening and closing operations carried out by the user. The lidding film can be of any type, made of plastic, paper or aluminum.
[0098] As illustrated, the cover 20 is configured to close off access to the space 17 for receiving the product of the internal layer 14.
[0099] The lid 20 is hinged relative to the container 10 between an open position of the container 10 and a closed position of the container 10 by means of a hinge 30 provided on one side of each annular rim 12e, 14e of the corresponding layer 12, 14, on the side opposite the side of each annular rim 12e, 14e comprising the notch 12f, 14f.
[0100] The cover 20 comprises an outer layer 22 and an inner layer 24 irreversibly secured to each other by means of an additional adhesive 26.
[0101] The outer layer 22 of the lid 20 extends in the extension of the outer layer 12 of the container 10 and the inner layer 24 of the lid 20 extends in the extension of the inner layer 14 of the container 10.
[0102] Generally, the cover 20 comprises two layers 22, 24 superimposed and irreversibly secured to each other.
[0103] The outer layer 22 comprises a body 22a of generally cylindrical shape and extending along the elevation axis Z-Z' assumed to be vertical in the figures in the closed position. Alternatively, any other shape could be provided for the body of the outer layer 22, for example parallelepiped.
[0104] Generally, the body of the outer layer 22 of the lid 20 is in conformity in shape with the body of the outer layer 12 of the container 10.
[0105] The body 22a delimits an internal housing 22b for receiving the internal layer 24 of the cover 20.
[0106] The body 22a of the external layer 22 of the cover 20 is delimited by a first closed end 22c and a second open end 22d, opposite the first end 22c and allowing access to the internal housing 22b.
[0107] The outer layer 22 of the cover 20 further comprises a lower annular rim 22e extending radially from the second end 22d of the body 22a of the outer layer 22 outwards.
[0108] Said lower annular rim 22e of the cover 20 is connected to the lower annular rim 12e of the container 10 by the hinge 30.
[0109] The internal layer 24 of the cover 20 comprises a body 24a delimiting an internal cavity 24b.
[0110] The body 24a of the internal layer 24 of the cover 20 is delimited by a first closed end 24c and a second open end 24d, opposite the first end 24c and allowing access to the internal cavity 24b.
[0111] The inner layer 24 of the cover 20 further comprises an upper annular rim 24e extending radially from the second end 24d of the body 24a of the inner layer 24 outwards.
[0112] Said upper annular rim 24e of the cover 20 is connected to the upper annular rim 14e of the container 10 by the hinge 30.
[0113] Generally, the inner layer 24 and the outer layer 22 of the cover are in shape matching.
[0114] The inner layer 24 and the outer layer 22 of the cover 20 are made integral by the additional adhesive 26 located between said layers 22, 24 at least between the annular edges 24e, 22e.
[0115] The additional adhesive 26 may also be located radially between all surfaces of the outer layer 22 and the inner layer 24.
[0116] As illustrated, and in a non-limiting manner, one side of each annular rim 22e, 24e of the corresponding layer 22, 24 of the lid 20, on the side opposite the hinge 30, comprises a retaining tab 22f, 24f intended to cooperate with the notch 12f, 14f of the container 10.
[0117] The retaining tabs 22f, 24f are axially superimposed along the elevation axis Z.
[0118] In the closed position, in which the lid 20 is located axially above the container 10, the retaining tabs 22f, 24f cooperate with the notches 12f, 14f of the container to hold the lid 20 in the closed position 10.
[0119] The layers 22, 24 of the cover 20 are preferably made of paper pulp, in particular molded paper pulp.
[0120] The adhesive 16, 26 located between the inner and outer layers 12 and 14 or 22 and 24 is preferably made using a paper glue such as starch glues, Oxidized starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, vinyl glue, vinyl acetate, ethylene vinyl acetate, but any other type of adhesive compatible with the nature of the paper could be suitable such as proteins (casein, gelatin), acrylic, cyano-acrylic, silicone, polyurethane.
[0121] As illustrated, the product packaging assembly 1 comprises a waterproof coating 40 in contact with the inner surface of the inner layer 14 of the container 10.
[0122] The waterproof coating 40 makes it possible to seal the container 10 in order to make it resistant to a wet or greasy product.
[0123] The waterproof coating 40 may be made of a polymeric film, for example polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide (PA), polylactic acid (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), butylene adipate-co-terephthalate (PBAT), polyethylene furanoate (PEF), polybutylene succinate (PBS), algae or algae derivative, Surlyn®, poly-lyketone (PK), algae or algae derivative or ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) or a mixture or any laminated combination.
[0124] The coating could also be ensured by the deposition of a layer from a powder (for example polyethylene (PE), polyamide (PA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polyethylene furanoate (PEF), etc.), a molten wax or an emulsion / latex of the acrylic, styrene-acrylic, styrene-butadiene type, wax microemulsion or any other barrier formulation, a dispersion of PE, PLA, PHA or any other type of barrier polymer in dispersion, a solution, such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), alginate, agar agar or any other combination of natural or synthetic polymers
[0125] The coating could be achieved by a combination of the two approaches
[0126] The waterproof coating 40 may be a film positioned on the inner surface cor corresponding by film-coating, that is to say by stretching towards the bottom of the internal layer 14, 24.
[0127] Skin packaging, or "skin packaging" in English terms, is a packaging technique consisting of applying a flexible plastic film to an object by suction through a porous support.
[0128] The waterproof coating 40 is thus formed on the internal layer 14 of the container 10, or of the container 10 and the cover 20.
[0129] In the case of the application of the waterproof coating 40 by the film-coating technique, the particular shape of the internal layer 14 and in particular the absence of adhesive on the lower semi-spherical part, make it possible to facilitate the application by suction of the coating, as well as to use a thinner film since it is less stretched in the bottom compared to a conventional container with edges.
[0130] Alternatively, the waterproof coating 40 may be positioned on the inner surface corresponding by a jet of liquid in fine droplets launched by a sprayer, known as "spraying" or by dipping the object in a liquid or "dip coating" coating in Anglo-Saxon terms or by a transfer technology, called pad printing or "pad printing" in Anglo-Saxon terms.
[0131] The particular shape of the internal layer 14 makes it possible to harmonize the thickness of the waterproof coating 40 without presenting any excess thickness.
[0132] For example, the waterproof coating 40 is arranged on the internal surface of the internal layer 24 of the cover 20.
[0133] Thanks to the particular structure of the container formed of two layers integral with each other and one layer of which has a particular shape, the restitution of the product contained in the container is greatly improved.
[0134] Furthermore, the particular shape of the internal layer also makes it possible to optimize the installation of a waterproof or impermeable coating inside the container, or even the lid.
