AI Technical Summary
Existing methods for securing a cylindrical envelope on a coaxial cylindrical object of variable diameter are cumbersome, require tools, and fail to provide a satisfactory closure, especially when using quilted materials like insulation, which complicates the process and hinders effective sealing.
A flexible, adjustable shutter diaphragm with a radial helical overlap mechanism, secured by self-aggregating straps, allows for seamless adaptation to both the outer envelope and coaxial core, ensuring a perfect fit regardless of diameter variations.
The system enables a simple, tool-free adaptation of the envelope to variable diameters, providing a secure and effective seal that supports the use of quilted materials, enhancing the sealing process.

Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Adaptive closing lateral junction device
[0001] The present invention relates to a lateral joining device allowing the adaptive sealing of the circular end of a cylindrical envelope on coaxial cylindrical objects of variable diameter, without tools, thanks to a flexible adaptable conical flank.
[0002] When fitting an enclosure (for example, a protective enclosure) onto a coaxial cylindrical object (for example, a pipe) with a diameter smaller than the enclosure, it is difficult, with the current state of the art, to ensure proper sealing of the sides of the cylindrical enclosure with said object without proceeding:
[0003] - either to a tailor-made adaptation that is often complex and time-consuming, which, moreover, requires tools,
[0004] - either to an adaptation of the diameter using folds, a technique which, in addition to the aesthetic aspect graceful of the final result, does not allow for a satisfactory closure and moreover prohibits the possible use of a padded envelope (for example insulation) with which it is difficult or even impossible to form folds.
[0005] The device according to the present invention is intended to remedy these difficulties.
[0006] It comprises a shutter diaphragm consisting of a flexible disc radially slotted along its radius and adjustable by helical overlap. Depending on the angle and extent of the helical overlap, it is possible to obtain a perfect, systematic fit to both the outer shell and the smaller-diameter coaxial core that it surrounds.
[0007] Once manually fixed to the cylindrical outer casing by means of, for example, hook and loop fasteners placed on its periphery, the position of the sealing flange is held in place on the coaxial core also by means of, for example, hook and loop straps.
[0008] Depending on the specific embodiment, the adaptable shutter diaphragm can be made of any flexible material such as, for example, textiles, coated fiberglass, or rubber, depending on the desired purpose. Similarly, the device for securing the shutter diaphragm in position can consist of hook-and-loop straps, adjustable buckle straps, laces, or hooks.
[0009] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:
[0010] Fig. 1 shows the helical shape of the open device.
[0011] Fig. 2 shows the device in cross-section.
[0012] With reference to [Fig. 1], the device comprises a flexible diaphragm (1) radially split along its radius (2) which, by overlapping, allows the helical shape to be obtained and permits, on the one hand, the opening of the passage of the coaxial core at the center (3) and, on the other hand, by axial torsion, an adjustment to the core (3) of variable diameter, by independently varying the inner and outer circumferences (4). The outer face of the skirt has, on a portion of its circumference at the inlet of the helical, a self-gripping strip (5) onto which, at the outlet of the helical, the inner strip (6) hooks, thus ensuring perfect clamping regardless of the overlap angle.
[0013] In the embodiment of [Fig.2] the device allows an adaptation of the sealing flank independently to the diameter DI or D2 of the outer envelope and to that of the coaxial core by simple variation of the angle alpha of the cone whose value is a function of both the axial torsion and the helical overlap.
Claims
Claims
1. - Lateral junction device allowing the adaptive sealing of the sides of a cylindrical envelope on objects which are also cylindrical and have a smaller diameter, without tools or disassembly, characterized in that it comprises a conical sealing diaphragm of the side of the envelope produced by means of a flexible wall consisting of a circle split radially on its radius and adjustable by helical covering of the lips thereof.
2. - Device according to claim 1 characterized in that depending on the extent of the overlap it is possible to obtain a perfect adaptation to the coaxial core by allowing effective contact at the periphery of the latter by tightening the diaphragm on it.
3. - Device according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterized in that the outer diameter of the diaphragm and the inner diameter thereof can be adjusted independently by changing the angle of the helical overlap and subsequently changing the angle of the cone formed by the diaphragm.
4. - Device according to any one of the preceding claims characterized in that once adjusted, the position of the shutter diaphragm is maintained using a fixing device.
