Abstract

The present invention relates to an edge device for logging data in remote locations. The edge device includes an electronics module. The edge device also includes a battery module for releasably fastening to the electronics module to power the electronics module. Advantageously, the electronics module and battery module may both be exposed, and the battery module may be readily released from the electronics module during its replacement, without the need to internally access the electronics module, thereby providing for quicker and safer battery replacement than known methods.
