Abstract

The present invention discloses an electronic device and a method for starting the electronic device, which are used to solve the problem of low security of startup security verification of electronic devices. The electronic device comprises: a first body, wherein the first body has a processor and a first terminal; a second body, wherein the second body comprises a display unit; a second terminal, which can be connected to the first terminal; a third terminal, which can be connected to an input apparatus; and a controller, wherein the controller is used to determine whether it is necessary to perform a startup operation on the first body when the third terminal acquires setting data transmitted by the input apparatus, and control the second terminal to sent a startup signal to the first terminal when a determination result indicates that it is necessary to perform the startup operation on the first body, so as to enable the first body to be subjected to the startup operation when responding to the startup signal.
