[0432] Example 8: Extract prepared from coffee beans by a method according to the modalities set forth herein
[0433] Freshly roasted coffee beans were ground and introduced into a microwave extractor at a rate of 12 Kg per hour. The microwave extractor was 2.5 m in length. The ground beans were subjected to 120 W of microwave energy at a power of 0.24 KWH per Kg of biomass to obtain a distillate while the temperature of the microwave extractor inner chamber (see, for example, Figure 1) was maintained at a temperature of 70 to 90 degrees Celsius. The transit time of the biomass through the microwave extractor was about 20 minutes. Figure 1 and Figure 2 ) was maintained at a temperature of 70 to 90 degrees Celsius. [0434] The distillate was collected at the bottom of the microwave extractor by gravimetric means and applied to a column of XAD4 resin. Once the resin in the column reached saturation, ethanol was used to desorb the material bound to the resin column at a flow rate of about 5 bed volumes per hour, with the total volume being adjusted to obtain a composition comprising essential oils with the desired concentration of ethanol. Here, approximately 3 to 15 bed volumes were required to elute the essential oils from the resin column. The composition of the ethanol extract (microwave extract 1) and the distillate (microwave extract 2) was analyzed by GC, with the results being reported in Table 6 below.

[0446] These data show that the method presented herein provides a strawberry extract that includes anthocyanins and cyanidins that are not present in extracts using existing methods. In addition, it can be noted that the extract prepared using the method of the invention contains more than 0.2 g / 100 g of sugars (including glucose, fructose, sucrose, lactose, maltose and galactose). This is in contrast to extracts extracted using existing methods that have a sugar content of less than 0.2 g / 100 g. This can be important for the status of the extract as in certain regulatory regimes, extracts with a sugar content of more than 0.2 g / 100 g are considered to be a juice.

Claims
1. An extract of plant biomass, wherein the extract comprises at least one anthocyanin, and the extract is obtained by a continuous microwave extraction method comprising the steps of: a. obtaining plant biomass; b. introducing the plant biomass into a vessel by a conveyor belt; c. subjecting the plant biomass to microwave energy of a first intensity for a period of time sufficient to heat the biomass to a temperature to evaporate water in the biomass, thereby producing a distillate; and d. collecting the distillate, wherein the plant biomass is strawberry, and wherein the extract comprises: (i) 0.007 ppm to 0.027 ppm of 2,3 butanedione, (ii) 0.05 ppm to 0.1 ppm of 3,7,11-trimethyl-1,6,10-dodecatrien-3-ol; (iii) 0.02 to 0.1 ppm of dihydro-5-octyl-2(3H)-furanone; (iv) 0.05 to 0.15 ppm of 4-hydroxy-2,5-dimethyl-3(2H)-furanone, (v) less than 0.3 ppm of 2-methylpropan-1-ol; (vi) less than 0.5 ppm of 3-methylbutanol; (vii) less than 0.4 ppm of 2-hexenal.
2. The extract of claim 1, wherein the extract further comprises at least one anthocyanidin.
3. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of at least one anthocyanin in the extract is 1 ppm.
4. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of at least one anthocyanidin in the extract is 1 ppm.
5. The extract of claim 1, wherein the at least one anthocyanidin is selected from the group consisting of cyanidin, delphinidin, malvidin, peonidin, petunidin, and combinations thereof.
6. The extract of claim 1, wherein the at least one anthocyanin is selected from the group consisting of cyanidin-3-arabinoside, cyanidin-3-galactoside, cyanidin-3-glucoside, delphinidin-3-arabinoside, delphinidin-3-galactoside, delphinidin-3-glucoside, malvidin-3-arabinoside, malvidin-3-galactoside, malvidin-3-glucoside, peonidin-3-arabinoside, peonidin-3-galactoside, peonidin-3-glucoside, petunidin-3-arabinoside, petunidin-3-galactoside, petunidin-3-glucoside, and combinations thereof.
7. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of cyanidin-3-glucoside in the extract is 0.5 ppm.
8. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of peonidin in the extract is 0.07 ppm.
9. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of peonidin-3-galactoside in the extract is 0.2 ppm.
10. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of peonidin-3-glucoside in the extract is 0.8 ppm. 11. The extract of claim 1, wherein the concentration of petunidin in the extract is 0.6 ppm.
12. The extract of claim 1, wherein the extract comprises 0.5 ppm of cyanidin-3-glucoside, 0.07 ppm of peonidin, 0.2 ppm of peonidin-3-galactoside, 0.8 ppm of peonidin-3-glucoside, and 0.6 ppm of petunidin.
13. The extract of claim 1, further comprising glucose in an amount greater than 0.9 g / 100 g of extract.
14. The extract of claim 1, further comprising fructose in an amount of 1.1 to 1.5 g / 100 g of extract.
15. The extract of claim 1, further comprising sucrose in an amount of 0.2 to 1 g / 100 g of extract.
16. The extract of claim 1, further comprising reducing sugars in an amount of 2 to 2.5 g / 100 g of extract.
17. The extract of claim 1, further comprising monosaccharides and disaccharides in an amount of 2 to 3.5 g / 100 g of extract.
18. A perfumed article comprising the extract of any one of claims 1-17, wherein the perfumed article is selected from the group consisting of a perfume water, a bath gel, a shower gel, a hair care product, an air freshener, a fabric softener, and a household cleaner.
19. A perfumed article comprising the extract of any one of claims 1-17, wherein the perfumed article is a perfume or a shampoo.
20. A perfumed article comprising the extract of any one of claims 1-17, wherein the perfumed article is a cologne or a detergent.
21. A perfumed article comprising the extract of any one of claims 1-17, wherein the perfumed article is a cosmetic formulation.
