Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application Serial No. 63 / 011,979, filed on April 17, 2020, and entitled “Type 1 Codebook Determination for PDSCH with New Resource Allocation Reference,” and U.S. Patent Application No. 17 / 230,904, filed on April 14, 2021, and entitled “Time Domain Resource Allocation-Based HARQ-ACK Feedback Generation,” which are expressly incorporated herein by reference in their entirety. Technical Field

[0003] The present disclosure relates generally to communication systems and, more particularly, to hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgement (ACK) (HARQ-ACK) feedback, such as type 1 codebook determination for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) with additional resource allocation references. Background Art

[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide a variety of telecommunication services such as telephony, video, data, messaging, and broadcast. Typical wireless communication systems may employ multiple access technologies that are capable of supporting communications with multiple users by sharing available system resources. Examples of such multiple access technologies include code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, time division multiple access (TDMA) systems, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) systems, orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) systems, and time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) systems.

[0005] These multiple access technologies have been adopted in various telecommunication standards to provide a common protocol that enables different wireless devices to communicate at a city, country, regional, and even global level. An example telecommunication standard is 5G New Radio (NR). 5G NR is part of the continued mobile broadband evolution released by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to meet new requirements associated with latency, reliability, security, scalability (e.g., with the Internet of Things (IoT)), and other requirements. 5G NR includes services associated with enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), massive machine type communications (mMTC), and ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC). Certain aspects of 5G NR may be based on the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard. Further improvements are still needed for 5G NR technology. These improvements may also be applicable to other multiple access technologies and telecommunication standards that adopt these technologies. Summary of the invention

[0006] A simplified summary of one or more aspects is given below to provide a basic understanding of these aspects. The content of the present invention is not a comprehensive overview of all expected aspects, and its purpose is neither to identify the key or important elements of all aspects, nor to describe the scope of any or all aspects. Its only purpose is to present some concepts of one or more aspects in a simplified form as a preface to the more detailed description proposed later.

[0007] A type 1 hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment (ACK) (HARQ-ACK) codebook may be constructed based on potential time domain occurrences of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) across a downlink (DL) serving cell. A set of potential PDSCH occurrences for a time slot may be determined based on a list of time domain resource allocation (TDRA) values configured to a user equipment (UE), wherein the TDRA corresponding to these values may be defined relative to the beginning of the time slot and is therefore unique to the time slot. However, for downlink control information (DCI) formats 1_2, the TDRA may be defined relative to different reference points within the time slot, such as the beginning of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on which the DCI is detected. When a time slot includes multiple PDCCHs, the value used to define the TDRA may be mapped to multiple positions within the time slot, so that the corresponding TDRA may not be unique within the time slot.

[0008] Therefore, when constructing a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook based on DCI format 1_2 and a reference point not based on the start of a time slot, the UE can determine all potential PDSCH occurrences in the time slot for each corresponding TDRA value set based on multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities in the time slot and corresponding TDRA candidates using the PDCCH monitoring opportunity as a reference point. The maximum number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates in the time slot can be identified to determine the maximum number of potential PDSCH occurrences in the time slot. Then, each PDSCH occurrence can be mapped to a corresponding bit in the type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0009] In one aspect of the present disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may: determine that at least one TDRA candidate in a TDRA candidate set for receiving a PDSCH has more than one possible position within a time slot; and generate HARQ-ACK feedback based on the determination that the at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot.

[0010] In another aspect of the present disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may: receive a first configuration for generating HARQ-ACK feedback using a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook, the first configuration being associated with determining the position of a PDSCH TDRA candidate based on a start symbol of a time slot, receive a second configuration indicating that a DL PDSCH grant should be monitored within a DCI format 1_2 message, the second configuration being associated with determining the position of a TDRA candidate based on a start symbol of one or more PDCCH monitoring opportunities of a time slot; and determine an error based on that the first configuration and the second configuration are incompatible with each other.

[0011] In yet another aspect of the present disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may: determine that at least one TDRA candidate in a TDRA candidate set for receiving a PDSCH from a base station has more than one possible position within a time slot; and generate HARQ-ACK feedback based on the determination that the at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot.

The following description and drawings set forth in detail certain illustrative features of one or more aspects. However, these features are indicative of only a few of the various ways in which the principles of the various aspects may be employed, and this description is intended to include all such aspects and their equivalents. In order to provide a thorough understanding of the various concepts, the detailed description includes specific details. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these concepts may be practiced without these specific details. In some instances, well-known structures and components are shown in block diagram form to avoid blurring such concepts.

[0027] Several aspects of telecommunication systems will now be described with reference to various apparatus and methods. These apparatus and methods will be described in the detailed description that follows and illustrated in the accompanying drawings by various blocks, components, circuits, processes, algorithms, etc. (collectively referred to as "elements"). These elements may be implemented using electronic hardware, computer software, or any combination thereof. Whether these elements are implemented as hardware or software depends on the specific application and the design constraints imposed on the overall system.

[0028] For example, an element, or any part of an element, or any combination of elements can be implemented as a "processing system" including one or more processors. Examples of processors include microprocessors, microcontrollers, graphics processing units (GPUs), central processing units (CPUs), application processors, digital signal processors (DSPs), reduced instruction set computing (RISC) processors, systems on chip (SoCs), baseband processors, field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), programmable logic devices (PLDs), state machines, gate logic, discrete hardware circuits, and other suitable hardware configured to perform various functions described throughout the present disclosure. One or more processors in a processing system can execute software. Whether referred to as software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description language, or other, software should be broadly interpreted as meaning instructions, instruction sets, codes, code segments, program codes, programs, subroutines, software components, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executable programs, execution threads, processes, functions, etc.

[0029] Therefore, in one or more example embodiments, the functions described may be implemented in hardware, software, or any combination thereof. If implemented in software, the functions may be stored on a computer-readable medium or encoded as one or more instructions or codes on a computer-readable medium. As an example and not limitation, such a computer-readable medium may include a random access memory (RAM), a read-only memory (ROM), an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM), an optical disk storage, a magnetic disk storage, other magnetic storage devices, a combination of computer-readable media of the above types, or any other medium that can be used to store computer executable code in the form of instructions or data structures that can be accessed by a computer.

[0030] Figure 1 1 is a diagram showing an example of a wireless communication system and access network 100. The wireless communication system (also referred to as a wireless wide area network (WWAN)) includes a base station 102, a UE 104, an evolved packet core (EPC) 160, and another core network 190 (e.g., a 5G core (5GC)). The base station 102 may include a macro cell (a high-power cellular base station) and / or a small cell (a low-power cellular base station). A macro cell includes a base station. A small cell includes a femto cell, a pico cell, and a micro cell.

[0031] The base station 102 configured for 4G LTE (collectively referred to as the Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN)) can interface with the EPC 160 via a first backhaul link 132 (e.g., an S1 interface). The base station 102 configured for 5G NR (collectively referred to as the Next Generation RAN (NG-RAN)) can interface with the core network 190 via a second backhaul link 184. Among other functions, the base station 102 can also perform one or more of the following functions: transmission of user data, radio channel encryption and decryption, integrity protection, header compression, mobility control functions (e.g., handover, dual connectivity), inter-cell interference coordination, connection establishment and release, load balancing, distribution of non-access stratum (NAS) messages, NAS node selection, synchronization, radio access network (RAN) sharing, multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS), subscriber and device tracking, RAN information management (RIM), paging, positioning, and delivery of warning messages. The base stations 102 may communicate with each other directly or indirectly (eg, through the EPC 160 or the core network 190) via a third backhaul link 134 (eg, an X2 interface). The third backhaul link 134 may be wired or wireless.

[0032] Base station 102 can communicate wirelessly with UE 104. Each base station 102 can provide communication coverage for a corresponding geographic coverage area 110. There may be overlapping geographic coverage areas 110. For example, a small cell 102' can have a coverage area 110' that overlaps with the coverage area 110 of one or more macrocell base stations 102. A network including both small cells and macrocells can be referred to as a heterogeneous network. A heterogeneous network can also include a home evolved Node B (eNB) (HeNB), which can provide services to a restricted group called a closed subscriber group (CSG). The communication link 120 between base station 102 and UE 104 can include an uplink (UL) (also called a reverse link) transmission from UE 104 to base station 102 and / or a downlink (DL) (also called a forward link) transmission from base station 102 to UE 104. The communication link 120 can use multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna technology, including spatial multiplexing, beamforming and / or transmission diversity. The communication link can be through one or more carriers. Base station 102 / UE 104 may use spectrum with up to Y MHz (e.g., 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 15 MHz, 20 MHz, 100 MHz, 400 MHz, etc.) bandwidth per carrier allocated in carrier aggregation for a total of up to Yx MHz (x component carriers) for transmission in each direction. The carriers may or may not be adjacent to each other. The allocation of carriers may be asymmetric with respect to DL and UL (e.g., more or fewer carriers may be allocated for DL than for UL). Component carriers may include a primary component carrier and one or more secondary component carriers. A primary component carrier may be referred to as a primary cell (PCell) and a secondary component carrier may be referred to as a secondary cell (SCell).

[0033] Certain UEs 104 may communicate with each other using a device-to-device (D2D) communication link 158. The D2D communication link 158 may use DL / UL WWAN spectrum. The D2D communication link 158 may use one or more sidelink channels, such as a physical sidelink broadcast channel (PSBCH), a physical sidelink discovery channel (PSDCH), a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH), and a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH). The D2D communication may be through various wireless D2D communication systems, such as, for example, FlashLinQ, WiMedia, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Wi-Fi based on IEEE 802.11 standards, LTE, or NR.

[0034] The wireless communication system may also include a Wi-Fi access point (AP) 150 that communicates with a Wi-Fi station (STA) 152 via a communication link 154 in the 5 GHz unlicensed spectrum. When communicating in the unlicensed spectrum, the STA 152 / AP 150 may perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) prior to communication to determine whether the channel is available.

[0035] The small cell 102' can operate in a licensed and / or unlicensed spectrum. When operating in an unlicensed spectrum, the small cell 102' can employ NR and use the same 5 GHz unlicensed spectrum used by the Wi-Fi AP 150. The small cell 102' employing NR in the unlicensed spectrum can improve the coverage of the access network and / or increase the capacity of the access network.

[0036] Base station 102, whether a small cell 102' or a large cell (e.g., a macro base station), can include and / or be referred to as an eNB, a gNodeB (gNB), or another type of base station. Certain base stations, such as gNB 180, can operate in traditional sub-6 GHz spectrum, millimeter wave (mmW) frequencies, and / or near mmW frequencies to communicate with UE 104. When gNB 180 operates in mmW or near mmW frequencies, gNB 180 can be referred to as a mmW base station. Extremely high frequency (EHF) is a portion of RF in the electromagnetic spectrum. EHF has a frequency range of 30 GHz to 300 GHz and a wavelength of 1 mm to 10 mm. Radio waves in this band can be referred to as millimeter waves. Near mmW can extend down to a frequency of 3 GHz and a wavelength of 100 mm. The super high frequency (SHF) band extends between 3 GHz and 30 GHz and is also referred to as centimeter waves. Communications using mmW / near mmW radio frequency bands (e.g., 3Ghz-300 Ghz) have extremely high path loss and short range. The mmW base station 180 may utilize beamforming 182 with the UE 104 to compensate for the extremely high path loss and short range. The base station 180 and the UE 104 may each include multiple antennas (such as antenna elements, antenna panels, and / or antenna arrays) to facilitate beamforming.

[0037] Base station 180 may transmit beamformed signals in one or more transmit directions 182' to UE 104. UE 104 may receive beamformed signals from base station 180 in one or more receive directions 182". UE 104 may also transmit beamformed signals to base station 180 in one or more transmit directions. Base station 180 may receive beamformed signals from UE 104 in one or more receive directions. Base station 180 / UE 104 may perform beam training to determine the best receive and transmit directions for each of base station 180 / UE 104. The transmit and receive directions for base station 180 may or may not be the same. The transmit and receive directions for UE 104 may or may not be the same.

[0038] The EPC 160 may include a mobility management entity (MME) 162, other MMEs 164, a serving gateway 166, a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) gateway 168, a broadcast multicast service center (BM-SC) 170, and a packet data network (PDN) gateway 172. The MME 162 may communicate with a home subscriber server (HSS) 174. The MME 162 is a control node that handles signaling between the UE 104 and the EPC 160. In general, the MME 162 provides bearer and connection management. All user Internet Protocol (IP) packets are transmitted through the serving gateway 166, which itself is connected to the PDN gateway 172. The PDN gateway 172 provides UE IP address allocation and other functions. The PDN gateway 172 and the BM-SC 170 are connected to IP services 176. The IP services 176 may include the Internet, an intranet, an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), a PS streaming service, and / or other IP services. The BM-SC 170 may provide the functionality of MBMS user service provisioning and delivery. The BM-SC 170 may serve as an entry point for content provider MBMS transmissions, may be used to authorize and initiate MBMS bearer services within a public land mobile network (PLMN), and may be used to schedule MBMS transmissions. The MBMS Gateway 168 may be used to distribute MBMS services to base stations 102 belonging to a multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) area that broadcasts a specific service, and may be responsible for session management (start / stop) and collecting eMBMS related billing information.

[0039] The core network 190 may include an access and mobility management function (AMF) 192, other AMFs 193, a session management function (SMF) 194, and a user plane function (UPF) 195. The AMF 192 may communicate with a unified data management (UDM) 196. The AMF 192 is a control node that handles signaling between the UE 104 and the core network 190. Generally, the AMF 192 provides QoS flow and session management. All user Internet Protocol (IP) packets are transmitted through the UPF 195. The UPF 195 provides UE IP address allocation and other functions. The UPF 195 is connected to an IP service 197. The IP service 197 may include the Internet, an intranet, an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), a PS streaming service, and / or other IP services.

[0040] A base station may also include and / or be referred to as a gNB, a Node B, an eNB, an access point, a base transceiver station, a radio base station, a radio transceiver, a transceiver function, a basic service set (BSS), an extended service set (ESS), a transmit receive point (TRP), or some other suitable term. Base station 102 provides an access point to EPC 160 or core network 190 for UE 104. Examples of UE 104 include a cellular phone, a smart phone, a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phone, a laptop, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a satellite radio, a global positioning system, a multimedia device, a video device, a digital audio player (e.g., an MP3 player), a camera, a game console, a tablet, a smart device, a wearable device, a vehicle, an electric meter, a gas pump, a large or small kitchen appliance, a health device, an implant, a sensor / actuator, a display, or any other similarly functional device. Some of UE 104 may be referred to as IoT devices (e.g., a parking meter, a gas pump, a toaster, a vehicle, a heart monitor, etc.). UE 104 may also be referred to as a station, a mobile station, a subscriber station, a mobile unit, a subscriber unit, a wireless unit, a remote unit, a mobile device, a wireless device, a wireless communication device, a remote device, a mobile subscriber station, an access terminal, a mobile terminal, a wireless terminal, a remote terminal, a handset, a user agent, a mobile client, a client, or some other suitable terminology.

[0041] Reference again Figure 1, in some aspects, the UE 104 may include a HARQ-ACK generation component 198, which is configured to determine that at least one TDRA candidate in a TDRA candidate set for receiving a PDSCH has more than one possible position within a time slot; and generate HARQ-ACK feedback based on the determination that the at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot. In some aspects, the base station 180 may include a resource allocation component 199, which is configured to determine that at least one TDRA candidate in a TDRA candidate set for receiving a PDSCH from the base station has more than one possible position within the time slot; and generate HARQ-ACK feedback based on the determination that the at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot. Although the following description may focus on 5G NR, the concepts described herein may be applicable to other similar fields, such as LTE, LTE-A, CDMA, GSM, and other wireless technologies.

[0042] Figure 2A FIG200 is a diagram showing an example of a first subframe within a 5G / NR frame structure. Figure 2B FIG230 is a diagram showing an example of DL channels within a 5G / NR subframe. Figure 2C Figure 250 shows an example of a second subframe within a 5G / NR frame structure. Figure 2D FIG280 is a diagram showing an example of UL channels within a 5G / NR subframe. The 5G / NR frame structure may be FDD, where for a particular set of subcarriers (carrier system bandwidth), subframes within a subcarrier set are dedicated to either DL or UL, or the 5G / NR frame structure may be TDD, where for a particular set of subcarriers (carrier system bandwidth), subframes within a subcarrier set are dedicated to both DL and UL. Figure 2A , 2C In the example provided, the 5G / NR frame structure is assumed to be TDD, where subframe 4 is configured with slot format 28 (mostly DL), where D is DL, U is UL, and X is flexible to use between DL / UL, and subframe 3 is configured with slot format 34 (mostly UL). Although subframes 3 and 4 are shown in slot formats 34 and 28, respectively, any particular subframe can be configured in any of the various available slot formats 0-61. Slot formats 0 and 1 are both DL and UL, respectively. Other slot formats 2-61 include a mix of DL, UL and flexible symbols. The UE is configured with the slot format (dynamically through DL control information (DCI) or semi-statically / statically through radio resource control (RRC) signaling) through the received slot format indicator (SFI). Note that the following description also applies to the 5G / NR frame structure as TDD.

[0043] Other wireless communication technologies may have different frame structures and / or different channels. A frame (10 milliseconds) may be divided into 10 equally sized subframes (1 millisecond). Each subframe may include one or more time slots. A subframe may also include mini-slots, which may include 7, 4, or 2 symbols. Each time slot may include 7 or 14 symbols, depending on the time slot configuration. For time slot configuration 0, each time slot may include 14 symbols, and for time slot configuration 1, each time slot may include 7 symbols. The symbols on the DL may be cyclic prefix (CP) OFDM (CP-OFDM) symbols. The symbols on the UL may be CP-OFDM symbols (for high throughput scenarios) or discrete Fourier transform (DFT) spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) symbols (also known as single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) symbols) (for power-limited scenarios; limited to single stream transmission). The number of time slots within a subframe is based on the time slot configuration and parameter set (numerology). For slot configuration 0, different parameter sets μ from 0 to 5 allow 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 slots per subframe, respectively. For slot configuration 1, different parameter sets μ from 0 to 2 allow 2, 4, and 8 slots per subframe, respectively. Thus, for slot configuration 0 and parameter set μ, there are 14 symbols / slot and 2μ slots / subframe. The subcarrier spacing and symbol length / duration are a function of the parameter set. The subcarrier spacing can be equal to 2 μ *15kHz, where μ is a number parameter set 0 to 5. Therefore, the subcarrier spacing for parameter set μ=0 is 15kHz, and the subcarrier spacing for parameter set μ=5 is 480kHz. The symbol length / duration is inversely related to the subcarrier spacing. Figure 2A-2D An example is provided for slot configuration 0 with 14 symbols per slot and parameter set μ=2 with 4 slots per subframe. The slot duration is 0.25 ms, the subcarrier spacing is 60 kHz, and the symbol duration is approximately 16.67 μs.

[0044] A resource grid may be used to represent the frame structure. Each slot includes a resource block (RB) (also referred to as a physical RB (PRB)) extending 12 consecutive subcarriers. The resource grid is divided into a plurality of resource elements (REs). The number of bits carried by each RE depends on the modulation scheme.

[0045] like Figure 2A As shown, some REs carry reference (pilot) signals (RS) for UEs. RSs may include demodulation RSs (DM-RSs) (indicated as R for a specific configuration). x, where 100x is the port number, but other DM-RS configurations are possible) and a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) for channel estimation at the UE. The RS may also include a beam measurement RS (BRS), a beam refinement RS (BRRS), and a phase tracking RS (PT-RS).

[0046] Figure 2B Examples of various DL channels within a subframe of a frame are shown. The physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) carries DCI in one or more control channel elements (CCEs), each CCE includes nine RE groups (REGs), and each REG includes four consecutive REs in an OFDM symbol. The primary synchronization signal (PSS) can be within symbol 2 of a specific subframe of the frame. The UE 104 uses the PSS to determine the subframe / symbol timing and the physical layer identification. The secondary synchronization signal (SSS) can be within symbol 4 of a specific subframe of the frame. The UE uses the SSS to determine the physical layer cell identification group number and the radio frame timing. Based on the physical layer identification and the physical layer cell identification group number, the UE can determine the physical cell identifier (PCI). Based on the PCI, the UE can determine the location of the above-mentioned DM-RS. The physical broadcast channel (PBCH) carrying the master information block (MIB) can be logically grouped with the PSS and SSS to form a synchronization signal (SS) / PBCH block. The MIB provides the number of RBs in the system bandwidth and the system frame number (SFN). The Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) carries user data, broadcast system information not transmitted through the PBCH (such as System Information Block (SIB)), and paging messages.

[0047] like Figure 2C As shown, some REs carry DM-RSs for channel estimation at the base station (indicated as R for one specific configuration, but other DM-RS configurations are possible). The UE can send DM-RS for the physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and DM-RS for the physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The PUSCH DM-RS can be sent in the first or first two symbols of the PUSCH. The PUCCH DM-RS can be sent in different configurations depending on whether a short PUCCH or a long PUCCH is sent and depending on the specific PUCCH format used. The UE can send a sounding reference signal (SRS). The SRS can be sent in the last symbol of the subframe. The SRS can have a comb structure, and the UE can send the SRS on one of the comb structures. The SRS can be used by the base station for channel quality estimation to enable frequency-dependent scheduling on the UL.

[0048] Figure 2DExamples of various UL channels within a subframe of a frame are shown. The PUCCH may be located as indicated in one configuration. The PUCCH carries uplink control information (UCI), such as scheduling requests, channel quality indicator (CQI), precoding matrix indicator (PMI), rank indicator (RI), and HARQ ACK / NACK feedback. The PUSCH carries data and may additionally be used to carry a buffer status report (BSR), a power headroom report (PHR), and / or UCI.

[0049] Figure 3 3 is a block diagram of a base station 310 communicating with a UE 350 in an access network. In the DL, IP packets from the EPC 160 may be provided to a controller / processor 375. The controller / processor 375 implements layer 3 and layer 2 functions. Layer 3 includes a radio resource control (RRC) layer, and layer 2 includes a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, a radio link control (RLC) layer, and a medium access control (MAC) layer. The controller / processor 375 provides RRC layer functions associated with broadcasting of system information (e.g., MIB, SIB), RRC connection control (e.g., RRC connection paging, RRC connection establishment, RRC connection modification, and RRC connection release), inter-radio access technology (RAT) mobility, and measurement configuration for UE measurement reporting; PDCP layer functions associated with header compression / decompression, security (encryption, decryption, integrity protection, integrity verification), and handover support functions; RLC layer functions associated with transmission of upper layer packet data units (PDUs), error correction through ARQ, concatenation, segmentation, and reassembly of RLC service data units (SDUs), re-segmentation of RLC data PDUs, and reordering of RLC data PDUs; and MAC layer functions associated with mapping between logical channels and transport channels, multiplexing of MAC SDUs to transport blocks (TBs), demultiplexing of MAC SDUs from TBs, scheduling information reporting, error correction through HARQ, priority handling, and logical channel priority determination.

[0050] The transmit (TX) processor 316 and the receive (RX) processor 370 implement layer 1 functions associated with various signal processing functions. Layer 1, including the physical (PHY) layer, may include error detection on the transmission channel, forward error correction (FEC) encoding / decoding of the transmission channel, interleaving, rate matching, mapping to the physical channel, modulation / demodulation of the physical channel, and MIMO antenna processing. The TX processor 316 processes the mapping to the signal constellation based on various modulation schemes (e.g., binary phase shift keying (BPSK), quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK), M-phase shift keying (M-PSK), M-quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM)). The coded and modulated symbols can then be split into parallel streams. Each stream can then be mapped to an OFDM subcarrier, multiplexed with a reference signal (e.g., a pilot) in the time domain and / or frequency domain, and then combined together using an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) to produce a physical channel carrying a time domain OFDM symbol stream. The OFDM stream is spatially precoded to produce multiple spatial streams. Channel estimates from a channel estimator 374 may be used to determine coding and modulation schemes and for spatial processing. The channel estimates may be derived from a reference signal and / or channel condition feedback transmitted by the UE 350. Each spatial stream may then be provided to a different antenna 320 via a separate transmitter 318TX. Each transmitter 318TX may modulate an RF carrier with a corresponding spatial stream for transmission.

[0051] At the UE 350, each receiver 354 RX receives a signal through its corresponding antenna 352. Each receiver 354RX recovers the information modulated onto the RF carrier and provides the information to a receive (RX) processor 356. The TX processor 368 and the RX processor 356 implement layer 1 functions associated with various signal processing functions. The RX processor 356 can perform spatial processing on the information to recover any spatial stream destined for the UE 350. If multiple spatial streams are destined for the UE 350, they can be combined into a single OFDM symbol stream by the RX processor 356. The RX processor 356 then converts the OFDM symbol stream from the time domain to the frequency domain using a fast Fourier transform (FFT). The frequency domain signal includes a separate OFDM symbol stream for each subcarrier of the OFDM signal. By determining the most likely signal constellation point sent by the base station 310, the symbol and reference signal on each subcarrier are recovered and demodulated. These soft decisions can be based on the channel estimate calculated by the channel estimator 358. The soft decisions are then decoded and deinterleaved to recover the data and control signals originally sent on the physical channel by the base station 310. The data and control signals are then provided to the controller / processor 359 which implements Layer 3 and Layer 2 functions.

[0052] The controller / processor 359 may be associated with a memory 360 that stores program codes and data. The memory 360 may be referred to as a computer readable medium. In the UL, the controller / processor 359 provides demultiplexing between transport and logical channels, packet reassembly, decryption, header decompression, and control signal processing to recover IP packets from the EPC 160. The controller / processor 359 is also responsible for error detection using an ACK and / or NACK protocol to support HARQ operations.

[0053] Similar to the functions described in conjunction with the DL transmission of the base station 310, the controller / processor 359 provides RRC layer functions associated with system information (e.g., MIB, SIB) acquisition, RRC connection, and measurement reporting; PDCP layer functions associated with header compression / decompression, and security (encryption, decryption, integrity protection, integrity verification); RLC layer functions associated with transmission of upper layer PDUs, error correction through ARQ, concatenation, segmentation and reassembly of RLC SDUs, resegmentation of RLC data PDUs, and reordering of RLC data PDUs; and MAC layer functions associated with mapping between logical channels and transport channels, multiplexing of MAC SDUs to TBs, demultiplexing of MAC SDUs from TBs, scheduling information reporting, error correction through HARQ, priority processing, and logical channel priority determination.

[0054] Channel estimates derived by the channel estimator 358 from a reference signal or feedback sent by the base station 310 may be used by the TX processor 368 to select the appropriate coding and modulation schemes and to facilitate spatial processing. The spatial streams generated by the TX processor 368 may be provided to different antennas 352 via separate transmitters 354TX. Each transmitter 354TX may modulate an RF carrier with a corresponding spatial stream for transmission.

[0055] UL transmissions are processed at the base station 310 in a manner similar to that described in conjunction with the receiver functionality at the UE 350. Each receiver 318RX receives a signal through its respective antenna 320. Each receiver 318RX recovers information modulated onto an RF carrier and provides the information to a RX processor 370.

[0056] The controller / processor 375 may be associated with a memory 376 that stores program codes and data. The memory 376 may be referred to as a computer readable medium. In the UL, the controller / processor 375 provides demultiplexing between transport and logical channels, packet reassembly, decryption, header decompression, control signal processing to recover IP packets from the UE 350. The IP packets from the controller / processor 375 may be provided to the EPC 160. The controller / processor 375 is also responsible for error detection using ACK and / or NACK protocols to support HARQ operations.

[0057] At least one of the TX processor 368, the RX processor 356, and the controller / processor 359 may be configured to perform operations related to Figure 1 Aspects related to the HARQ-ACK generation component 198.

[0058] At least one of the TX processor 316, the RX processor 370, and the controller / processor 375 may be configured to perform operations related to Figure 1 Aspects related to the resource allocation component 199.

[0059] Wireless communication systems can be configured to share available system resources and provide various telecommunication services (e.g., telephone, video, data, messaging, broadcast, etc.) based on multiple access technologies that support communication with multiple users, such as CDMA systems, TDMA systems, FDMA systems, OFDMA systems, SC-FDMA systems, TD-SCDMA systems, etc. In many cases, common protocols that facilitate communication with wireless devices are adopted in various telecommunication standards. For example, communication methods associated with eMBB, mMTC, and URLLC may be incorporated into the 5G NR telecommunication standard, while other aspects may be incorporated into the 4G LTE standard. Since mobile broadband technology is part of the ongoing evolution, further improvements in mobile broadband remain useful for continuing the development of such technologies.

[0060] Figure 4 400 is a diagram of a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgement (ACK) (HARQ-ACK) codebook for constructing HARQ-ACK feedback for generation. In NR applications, the UE may utilize two types of HARQ-ACK codebook construction techniques (e.g., type 1 and type 2) to provide feedback to the base station. A type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook, which may also be referred to as a semi-static codebook, may be constructed based on potential instances where a PDSCH may appear in the time domain across DL serving cells. The UE may generate a set of HARQ-ACK bits such that each bit may correspond to a corresponding DL transmission and indicate whether the corresponding DL transmission is received by the UE. The codebook may be constructed based on HARQ-ACK bits including HARQ-ACK feedback for DL transmissions.

[0061] In some aspects, a HARQ-ACK codebook can be constructed by identifying potential occurrences of a PDSCH that a base station can use to send DL communications, and by determining a mapping of DL communications to potential occurrences. The potential occurrence of a PDSCH can be identified based on a set of time domain resource allocations (TDRAs) configured from a base station to a UE. In a first example, a set of potential occurrences of a PDSCH can be determined based on a list / table of TDRAs defined relative to the beginning of a time slot. In this way, each TDRA can be uniquely identified within a time slot. In a second example, a DCI format can be used for DL communications, which defines the start of a TDRA relative to a reference point (e.g., symbol) corresponding to the PDCCH on which the DCI is received, rather than from the beginning of a time slot. As a result, the same TDRA may be mapped to multiple PDSCH positions within a time slot, which may affect the construction technique of a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook. Therefore, multiple PDSCH positions used to construct a HARQ-ACK codebook may correspond to instances in which the start of a TDRA is based on a reference point within a time slot.

[0062] Figure 400 includes multiple TDRA candidates 0-6 extending over multiple OFDM symbols (e.g., symbol numbers 2-13) for scheduling PDSCH. Each TDRA candidate 0-6 is defined by a start and length indicator value (SLIV). For example, TDRA candidate 0 starts from symbol 2 and has a length of 12 symbols. As another example, TDRA candidate 4 starts from symbol 3 and has a length of 4 symbols. In Figure 400, the starting symbol of each of TDRA candidates 0-6 can be defined relative to the beginning of the time slot, so that the UE can construct a HARQ-ACK codebook based on the TDRA candidates 0-6 defined relative to the beginning of the time slot.

[0063] To construct a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook, the UE may identify the total number of TDRA candidates (e.g., TDRA candidates 0-6) configured for a given cell, and based thereon determine the maximum number of non-overlapping PDSCHs that may be scheduled within a time slot (e.g., in Figure 400, a maximum of 2 PDSCHs may be non-overlapping). The UE may generate HARQ-ACK bits based on the determined maximum number of non-overlapping PDSCHs. As shown in Figure 400, the base station may send up to two PDSCHs within a time slot, wherein the first PDSCH may be scheduled via TDRA candidate 4 and the second PDSCH may be scheduled via TDRA candidate 5 or TDRA candidate 6. The maximum number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates defines the maximum number of PDSCH transmissions that may occur in a time slot.

[0064] A HARQ-ACK codebook may be constructed to determine the number of HARQ-ACK bits that may be indicated back to the UE. For example, if up to two non-overlapping PDSCH transmissions may occur in a time slot, there may be two HARQ-ACK bits. In some aspects, a predefined protocol may be executed to determine the number of HARQ-ACK bits and further determine how each of TDRA candidates 0-6 is mapped to the HARQ-ACK bits. When a subset of the total number of TDRA candidates is mapped to the same bit (e.g., TDRA candidates 0-4 are mapped to bit 1, or TDRA candidates 5-6 are mapped to bit 2), only one TDRA candidate in the subset may be used to schedule the PDSCH at a given time.

[0065] Although there are seven potential TDRA candidates 0-6 for receiving PDSCH in Figure 400, at most two TDRA candidates (e.g., a first TDRA candidate corresponding to the first bit and a second TDRA candidate corresponding to the second bit) can be used for PDSCH. In a further aspect, only one of the TDRA candidates (e.g., TDRA candidates 0-3) in Figure 400 can be used for PDSCH. For example, if the base station schedules PDSCH transmission via TDRA candidate 3, none of the other TDRA candidates 0-2 and 4-6 can be used to send another PDSCH because each of the other TDRA candidates 0-2 and 4-6 overlaps with TDRA candidate 3. Therefore, under such conditions, a PDSCH transmission may occur in the time slot.

[0066] Therefore, the UE can identify which of the TDRA candidates 0-6 overlap with each other and group the overlapping TDRA candidates into one bit, because only one TDRA candidate in the overlapping group of TDRA candidates can be used to send PDSCH. Overlapping TDRA candidates corresponding to HARQ-ACK bits can be set to the same position in the HARQ-ACK codebook. The UE can determine the mapping of TDRA candidates 0-6 to the number of bits based on the number of TDRA candidates configured from the base station to the UE.

[0067] Figure 5500 is a diagram in which TDRAs 502a-b defined from the start of a PDCCH monitoring opportunity are mapped to multiple positions within a time slot. In other words, the reference point for defining TDRAs 502a-b may not be based on the start of a time slot. For example, a TDRA 502b may be indicated to a UE based on a SLIV including S=3, L=4, where the start of TDRA 502b may be defined relative to the position of a PDCCH 504b, on which a grant for a PDSCH is decoded / communicated. For example, depending on the position at which a DL grant is sent in a time slot, a UE may determine that a TDRA 502a-b of (S=3, L=4) may start at symbol 3 or symbol 10 relative to a PDCCH 504a-b for sending OFDM data over a length of 4 symbols. That is, for a second PDCCH 504b, S=0 may correspond to a symbol (e.g., symbol 7) including a second PDCCH monitoring opportunity, rather than the start of a time slot (e.g., symbol 0). Therefore, defining a TDRA 502a-b in a time slot including more than one PDCCH monitoring opportunity may provide more than one possible starting point for the TDRA 502a-b, which may further affect the construction technique of the corresponding HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0068] The RRC parameter can be used to indicate whether the SLIV is associated with the start of a time slot or a reference point within a time slot (e.g., a PDCCH monitoring opportunity). When the SLIV is associated with a reference point within a time slot, the reference point can be used to define a TDRA where K0=0 (e.g., where DL control information and DL data for the TDRA appear in the same time slot). When K0 is equal to a value other than 0, the TDRA is located in a time slot different from the time slot of the PDCCH used as the reference point for the TDRA. For example, K0=1 indicates that the TDRA is located in the next time slot after the PDCCH used as the reference point for the TDRA. When a TDRA with K0>0 can be included in the same TDRA table as a TDRA with K0=0, the SLIV associated with the TDRA reference point can be applied to the TDRA with K0=0 of DCI format 1_2. The SLIV for other TDRAs in the same TDRA table (if any) can be alternatively based on the start of the time slot. Therefore, in order to determine resource allocation, the UE can not only identify where data can be received in the time slot, but also in which time slot the data can be sent.

[0069] Figure 6600 is a diagram for determining the potential PDSCH occurrence within the time slot of each corresponding TDRA. The UE can construct a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook by monitoring DCI format 1_2 to schedule HARQ-ACK feedback in the codebook based on the reference point of the TDRA indicated via DCI format 1_2. In some cases, the UE can construct two HARQ-ACK codebooks, which can be of the same type (e.g., both are type 1) or different types (e.g., the first codebook can be type 1 and the second codebook can be type 2). The construction of the two HARQ-ACK codebooks can be used to address the different reliability and delay requirements of the UE. For example, the first codebook can be used for URLLC and the second codebook can be used for eMBB. In some aspects, DCI format 1_2 can be used to schedule URLLC transmissions, and therefore, the UE can use a reference point method for the HARQ-ACK codebook associated with URLLC. The UE can also construct a second codebook for eMBB based on another method, even if the eMBB service may not be scheduled by DCI format 1_2 but by other DCI formats. Therefore, the UE may apply the PDCCH monitoring timing / reference point procedure to the codebook that may be scheduled by DCI format 1_2.

[0070] In some aspects, the UE may determine a plurality of PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b within a time slot, for which the UE may monitor DCI formats 1_2. The UE may also determine a plurality of TDRAs 602a-h (e.g., where K0=0) that utilize the PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b as reference points within the time slot. Based on the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b and the number of TDRAs 602a-h that utilize the PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b as reference points, the UE may determine the total number of potential PDSCH occurrences within the time slot for each TDRA 602a-h. Once the total number of potential PDSCH occurrences is determined, the UE may construct a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook based on determining the maximum number of non-overlapping potential PDSCH occurrences within the time slot, and determining a mapping of each potential PDSCH occurrence to a corresponding bit in the HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0071] The type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook may not depend on the DCI received by the UE. The codebook size may be fixed via RRC configuration. As long as the UE is configured to monitor DCI format 1_2, the UE may construct a codebook based on potential PDSCH occurrences, regardless of whether the UE receives transmissions based on DCI format 1_2 or a different DCI format. Therefore, in order to construct the codebook, the UE may monitor DCI format 1_2 at certain locations in the time slot, even if the base station does not generate transmissions based on DCI format 1_2 at all monitored locations. As long as the UE is configured to monitor DCI format 1_2, the UE may initiate a process for determining potential PDSCH occurrences within a time slot so that the UE may construct a codebook based on the determined potential PDSCH occurrences.

[0072] In diagram 600, a UE may be configured with two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b in a single time slot, wherein the UE may monitor DCI formats 1_2 in both monitoring opportunities 604a-b. The corresponding TDRA table 606 in diagram 600 includes 5 TDRASLIVs - 4 of which have K0=0 and one has K0=1. For a SLIV with K0=1, only one potential PDSCH occurrence may be associated with the SLIV, which may be indicated relative to the start of the time slot. For a SLIV with K0=0, there may be multiple TDRA candidates for a potential PDSCH occurrence, provided that the TDRA candidate 602-fh corresponding to the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity does not extend outside the time slot (e.g., beyond symbol 13). For example, a TDRA candidate 602a with (K0=0, S=12, L=12) includes one potential PDSCH occurrence corresponding to a first PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604a, because defining such a TDRA 602a relative to a second TDRA monitoring opportunity 604b would result in the TDRA 602a extending outside the slot (e.g., beyond symbol 13).

[0073] The codebook constructed by the UE can be based on multiple continuous time slots. Therefore, Figure 600 can be constructed based on all the identification positions of TDRA602a-h in the multiple continuous time slots. In order to determine the number of potential TDRA candidates 602a-h, the UE can ignore TDRA 602b with K0=1 when identifying additional candidates for TDRA602b. That is, the UE can determine whether the TDRA candidate can be scheduled multiple times in the time slot based on the TDRA candidate with K0=0. Although two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b are shown as an example in Figure 600, other time slot configurations may include different numbers of PDCCH monitoring opportunities (e.g., 3 monitoring opportunities, 4 monitoring opportunities, etc.). If the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities in the time slot is greater than two, multiple TDRA candidates 602f-h can be associated with further / subsequent multiple TDRA candidates, respectively. For example, the UE may be able to derive more than one additional TDRA candidate for potential PDSCH occurrence from individual TDRA candidates such as TDRA candidates 602c-e via a TDRA table 606.

[0074] In other examples, such as Figure 7 In the diagram 700, one or more of the PDCCH monitoring opportunities 704a-b may be shifted such that the number and / or bits of potential PDSCH occurrences may be changed. Figure 7 It is shown that if the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b in Figure 600 is shifted forward two symbols (for example, the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b / 704b is shifted from symbols 7-8 to symbols 9-10), then Figure 700 no longer includes the 4th bit because the multiple / second TDRA candidates 702f and 702h derived from the corresponding TDRA table 706 will extend outside the time slot and are therefore excluded from being considered as potential PDSCH occurrences.

[0075] Reference again Figure 6 , for the four TDRA candidates 602a and 602c-e with K0=0, the last three TDRA candidates 602c-e derived from the TDRA table 606 may have additional potential PDSCH occurrences that may be scheduled relative to the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b. Therefore, the UE may determine that there are 8 potential PDSCH occurrences within the time slot based on the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities in the time slot and the values of K0, S, and L that maintain the additional TDRA candidates 602f-h completely within the time slot, which may correspond to the 5 TDRA candidates 602a-e scheduled relative to the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604a and the 3 additional TDRA candidates 602f-h scheduled relative to the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b.

[0076] After the UE determines the potential number of TDRA candidates 602a-h, the UE can construct a HARQ-ACK codebook based on the maximum number of PDSCH transmissions that can be sent in the time slot. In Figure 600, based on a maximum of four non-overlapping TDRA candidates 602c-d and 602f-g, up to four PDSCHs can be sent in the time slot. Therefore, by identifying TDRAs 602c-e that can have multiple TDRA candidates 602f-h, the time slots shown in Figure 600 can be configured based on two additional bits (e.g., the third bit and the fourth bit, rather than just the first bit and the second bit).

[0077] In a further example, the UE may not be configured with both the monitoring timing / reference point and the type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook for PDSCH resource allocation of DCI format 1_2 for a specific DL serving cell. That is, the UE may receive a first configuration, i.e., the type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook is used for the DL serving cell, and receive a second configuration, i.e., the TDRA indicated in DCI format 1_2 on the DL serving cell is defined relative to the PDCCH monitoring timing, so that the UE can determine that a scheduling / configuration error occurs based on the incompatibility of the first configuration and the second configuration with each other.

[0078] Figure 8 800 is a call flow diagram illustrating communication between a UE 802 and a base station 804. At 806a-806b, the UE 802 and the base station 804 may each determine that one or more TDRA candidates have more than one possible position in a time slot. For example, in a time slot including multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities, a first TDRA candidate may correspond to a first PDCCH monitoring opportunity, and a second TDRA candidate may correspond to a second PDCCH monitoring opportunity (e.g., when the number of starting symbols of the second TDRA candidate plus the number of symbols corresponding to the length of the second TDRA candidate is less than or equal to the number of symbols included in the time slot).

[0079] At 808a-808b, UE 802 and base station 804 may each determine the total number of TDRA candidate positions that are completely contained within the time slot. For example, some TDRA candidates may have only one possible position within the time slot, while other TDRA candidates may have more than one possible position within the time slot. Therefore, the total number of TDRA candidate positions determined at 808a-808b may correspond to a first number of TDRA candidates with more than one possible position within the time slot, a second number of TDRA candidates corresponding to additional positions of the first number of TDRA candidates, and a third number of TDRA candidates with only one possible position within the time slot.

[0080] At 810a-810b, UE 802 and base station 804 may each determine the number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates within a time slot based on the total number of TDRA candidates determined at 808a-808b. The number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates determined at 810a-810b may be the maximum number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates within a time slot, wherein the maximum number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates may be determined based on the total number of TDRA candidates determined at 808a-808b.

[0081] At 812, the base station 804 may send a PDSCH to the UE 802 for one or more of the TDRA candidates included in the time slot. At 814, the UE 802 may generate HARQ-ACK feedback for the one or more TDRA candidates based on the PDSCH received from the base station 804 at 812. At 816, the UE 802 may send the generated HARQ-ACK feedback to the base station 804 based on the constructed HARQ-ACK codebook. At 818, the base station 804 may decode the HARQ-ACK feedback received from the UE 802 at 816.

[0082] Fig. 9 Flowchart 900 of a method of wireless communication. The method may be performed by UE 104, which may include memory 360, and may be the entire UE 104 or a component of UE 104 (such as TX processor 368, RX processor 356, and / or controller / processor 359).

[0083] At 902, the UE may determine that at least one TDRA candidate in the TDRA candidate set for receiving the PDSCH has more than one possible position within the time slot. Figure 6 , the TDRA candidates 602c-e and 602f-h included in diagram 600 may be defined at symbol 0 relative to the start of the first monitoring opportunity 604a and at symbol 7 relative to the start of the second monitoring opportunity 604b.

[0084] Determining that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot may also be based on: determining that the UE is configured to monitor DL grants in DCI format 1_2 messages (e.g., DL grants for potential PDSCH occurrences associated with TDRA candidates 602a-h in diagram 600 may be received in DCI format 1_2); when the UE is configured to monitor DL grants in DCI format 1_2 messages, determining that a starting symbol for determining at least one position of at least one TDRA within the time slot is configured based on at least one PDCCH monitoring opportunity within the time slot (e.g., in diagram 600, TDRA candidates 602c-e and 602f-h may have corresponding start symbols defined from the first and second PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b); and when the UE determines that the start symbol for determining at least one position of at least one TDRA within a time slot is configured based on at least one PDCCH monitoring opportunity within the time slot, it is determined that the at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot (e.g., in Figure 600, the last three entries of the TDRA table 606 have more than one possible position within the time slot based on two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b). The configuration of the UE may be performed through RRC parameters.

[0085] In a further aspect, determining that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within a time slot may also be based on determining that there are multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot in which a DCI format 1_2 message may be received. Figure 6 , diagram 600 includes two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b, where a DCI format 1_2 message may be received. In a further aspect, determining that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within a time slot may also be based on determining that a K0 time slot offset associated with each of the at least one TDRA candidate is equal to 0. For example, referring to Figure 6 , the TDRA table 606 of diagram 600 includes 4 TDRA entries with a time slot offset of K0=0.

[0086] At 904, the UE may determine the number of TDRA candidates corresponding to the additional positions of at least one TDRA candidate that is completely contained within the time slot. Figure 6, the UE may determine that the three TDRA candidates 602f-h defined relative to the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b and completely contained within the time slot may correspond to the additional positions of the TDRA candidates 602c-e. The number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot may include the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604a and at least one subsequent PDCCH monitoring opportunity (e.g., the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b), wherein the additional position of at least one TDRA candidate 602c-e (e.g., 602f-h) may correspond to a SLIV defined from the beginning of the at least one subsequent PDCCH monitoring opportunity (e.g., for the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b, the SLIV may be defined relative to symbol 7 of Figure 600). Thus, the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot may include a first PDCCH monitoring opportunity at a first start symbol S0>0, wherein the additional position of at least one TDRA candidate (e.g., 602f-h) within the time slot corresponding to each second start symbol is equal to S0 plus the start symbol S of the at least one TDRA candidate. In some aspects, when S=0, the first start symbol S0>0 and the second start symbol S0+S may correspond to the same symbol. In an example, the start symbol of the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity may correspond to S=0, and the start symbol of the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity may correspond to S>0. In other examples, the start symbols of both the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity and the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity may each correspond to S>0.

[0087] At 906, the UE may determine the total number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates within the time slot based on the determined total number of TDRA candidates. Figure 6 , the UE may determine that there are a total of 8 TDRA candidates 602a-h in diagram 600, and up to 4 TDRA candidates (e.g., 602c, 602d, 602f, and 602g) do not overlap in the time slot. Additionally, the HARQ-ACK feedback for the TDRA candidates 602a-h may be generated to include x bits, where x is equal to the total number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates determined (e.g., diagram 600 includes 4 bits corresponding to 4 non-overlapping TDRA candidates 602c, 602d, 602f, and 602g, respectively).

[0088] At 908, the UE may receive a PDSCH in each of the one or more TDRA candidates in the TDRA candidate set. Figure 6, the UE may receive PDSCH in each TDRA candidate corresponding to (K0=0, S=2, L=4), (K0=0, S=0, L=2) and / or (K0=0, S=2, L=7), because the multiple positions corresponding to each of these TDRA candidates are non-overlapping. Additionally, HARQ-ACK feedback may be generated by the UE based on the PDSCH received in one or more TDRA candidates 602a-h.

[0089] At 910, the UE may generate HARQ-ACK feedback based on a determination that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within a time slot. Figure 6 , HARQ-ACK feedback can be generated based on the TDRA candidates corresponding to (K0=0, S=2, L=4), (K0=0, S=0, L=2) and (K0=0, S=2, L=7) having more than one possible position in the time slot. HARQ-ACK feedback can be based on the type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0090] The generation of HARQ-ACK feedback may also be based on: determining the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot (e.g., the UE may determine that there are two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b in Figure 600); determining a first number of TDRA candidates having more than one possible position within the time slot among at least one TDRA candidate based on the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities (e.g., the UE may determine that three of the TDRA candidates 602c-e defined via the TDRA table 606 have more than one possible position within the time slot of Figure 600); and determining a total number of TDRA candidates within the time slot, the total number of TDRA candidates within the time slot including the determined a first number of TDRA candidates within the time slot, a second number of TDRA candidates corresponding to additional positions of the at least one TDRA candidate within the time slot, and a third number of TDRA candidates having one possible position within the time slot, wherein the HARQ-ACK feedback is generated based on the determined total number of TDRA candidates (for example, the UE may determine that there are a total of 8 TDRA candidates 602a-h in Figure 600 based on 2 TDRA candidates 602a-b having one possible position, 3 TDRA candidates 602c-e having more than one possible position, and 3 additional TDRA candidates 602f-h corresponding to more than one possible position).

[0091] At 912, the UE may send the generated HARQ-ACK feedback. Figure 6 , the HARQ-ACK feedback generated based on diagram 600 can be sent from the UE to the base station (e.g., from UE 104 to base station 102).

[0092] Fig.10 1000 is a flow chart of a method of wireless communication. The method may be performed by a UE 104, which may include a memory 360, and may be the entire UE 104 or a component of the UE 104 (such as a TX processor 368, RX processor 356, and / or controller / processor 359).

[0093] At 1002, the UE may receive a first configuration for generating HARQ-ACK feedback using a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook, the first configuration being associated with determining a location of a PDSCH TDRA candidate based on a start symbol of a time slot. Figure 4 , the positions of PDSCH TDRA candidates 0-6 can be defined based on the start symbol of the time slot.

[0094] At 1004, the UE may receive a second configuration indicating that a DL PDSCH grant should be monitored within a DCI format 1_2 message, the second configuration being associated with determining a location of a TDRA candidate based on a starting symbol of one or more PDCCH monitoring opportunities of a time slot. Figure 6 , the positions of the TDRA candidates 602a-h may be based on the starting symbol positions of the respective monitoring opportunities 604a-b included in the time slot.

[0095] At 1006, the UE may determine an error based on the first configuration and the second configuration being incompatible with each other. For example, it may not be expected that the UE 104 is configured with a reference position for a PDSCH resource allocation of DCI format 1_2 and a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook to generate feedback to the base station 102.

[0096] Fig.11 1100 is a flow chart of a method of wireless communication. The method may be performed by a base station 102, which may include a memory 376 and may be the entire base station 102 or a component of the base station 102 (such as the TX processor 316, the RX processor 370, and / or the controller / processor 375).

[0097] At 1102, the base station may determine that at least one TDRA candidate in the TDRA candidate set for transmitting a PDSCH to the UE has more than one possible position within the time slot. Figure 6 , the TDRA candidates 602c-e and 602f-h included in diagram 600 may be defined at symbol 0 relative to the start of the first monitoring opportunity 604a and at symbol 7 relative to the start of the second monitoring opportunity 604b.

[0098] Determining that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot may also be based on: determining that the UE is configured to monitor DL grants in DCI format 1_2 messages (e.g., DL grants for potential PDSCH occurrences associated with TDRA candidates 602a-h in Figure 600 may be sent in DCI format 1_2); when determining that the UE is configured to monitor DL grants in DCI format 1_2 messages, determining that a starting symbol for determining at least one position of at least one TDRA within the time slot is configured based on at least one PDCCH monitoring opportunity within the time slot (e.g., in Figure 60 0, TDRA candidates 602c-e and 602f-h can have corresponding starting symbols defined from the first and second PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b); and when the starting symbol for determining at least one position of at least one TDRA within a time slot is configured based on at least one PDCCH monitoring opportunity within the time slot, it is determined that the at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within the time slot (for example, in Figure 600, the last three entries of the TDRA table 606 have more than one possible position within the time slot based on two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b). The base station can configure the UE through RRC parameters.

[0099] In a further aspect, determining that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within a time slot may also be based on determining that there are multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot in which a DCI format 1_2 message may be sent. Figure 6 , diagram 600 includes two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b, where DCI format 1_2 messages can be sent. In a further aspect, determining that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within a time slot can also be based on determining that the K0 time slot offset associated with each of the at least one TDRA candidate is equal to 0. For example, referring to Figure 6 , the TDRA table 606 of diagram 600 includes 4 TDRA entries with a time slot offset of K0=0.

[0100] At 1104, the base station may determine the number of TDRA candidates corresponding to the additional positions of at least one TDRA candidate that is completely contained within the time slot. Figure 6, the base station can determine that the three TDRA candidates 602f-h defined relative to the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b and completely contained within the time slot can correspond to the additional positions of the TDRA candidates 602c-e. The number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot can include the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604a and at least one subsequent PDCCH monitoring opportunity (e.g., the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b), wherein the additional position of at least one TDRA candidate 602c-e (e.g., 602f-h) can correspond to the SLIV defined from the beginning of the at least one subsequent PDCCH monitoring opportunity (e.g., for the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity 604b, the SLIV can be defined relative to symbol 7 of Figure 600). Therefore, the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot can include the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity at the first starting symbol S0>0, wherein the additional position of at least one TDRA candidate (e.g., 602f-h) within the time slot corresponding to the second starting symbol is equal to S0 plus the starting symbol S of the at least one TDRA candidate. In other examples, the start symbols of the first PDCCH monitoring opportunity and the second PDCCH monitoring opportunity may each correspond to S>0.

[0101] At 1106, the base station may determine the total number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates within the time slot based on the determined total number of TDRA candidates. Figure 6 , the base station may determine that there are a total of 8 TDRA candidates 602a-h in diagram 600, and up to 4 TDRA candidates (e.g., 602c, 602d, 602f, and 602g) do not overlap in the time slot. Additionally, HARQ-ACK feedback for TDRA candidates 602a-h may be received via x bits, where x is equal to the total number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates determined (e.g., diagram 600 includes 4 bits corresponding to 4 non-overlapping TDRA candidates 602c, 602d, 602f, and 602g, respectively).

[0102] At 1108, the base station may send a PDSCH in each of the one or more TDRA candidates in the TDRA candidate set. Figure 6, the base station can send PDSCH in each TDRA candidate corresponding to (K0=0, S=2, L=4), (K0=0, S=0, L=2) and / or (K0=0, S=2, L=7), because the multiple positions corresponding to each of these TDRA candidates are non-overlapping. Additionally, the base station can receive HARQ-ACK feedback based on the PDSCH sent in one or more TDRA candidates 602a-h.

[0103] At 1110, the base station may receive HARQ-ACK feedback from the UE based on a determination that at least one TDRA candidate has more than one possible position within a time slot. Figure 6 , HARQ-ACK feedback can be received from the UE based on the TDRA candidates corresponding to (K0=0, S=2, L=4), (K0=0, S=0, L=2) and (K0=0, S=2, L=7) having more than one possible position in the time slot. HARQ-ACK feedback can be based on the type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook.

[0104] Receipt of HARQ-ACK feedback may also be based on: determining the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities within the time slot (e.g., the base station may determine that there are two PDCCH monitoring opportunities 604a-b in Figure 600); determining a first number of TDRA candidates having more than one possible position within the time slot among at least one TDRA candidate based on the number of PDCCH monitoring opportunities (e.g., the base station may determine that three of the TDRA candidates 602c-e defined via the TDRA table 606 have more than one possible position within the time slot of Figure 600); and determining a total number of TDRA candidates within the time slot, the total number of TDRA candidates within the time slot including the determined A first number of TDRA candidates within the time slot, a second number of TDRA candidates corresponding to additional positions of the at least one TDRA candidate within the time slot, and a third number of TDRA candidates having one possible position within the time slot, wherein HARQ-ACK feedback is received based on the determined total number of TDRA candidates (for example, the base station may determine that there are a total of 8 TDRA candidates 602a-h in Figure 600 based on 2 TDRA candidates 602a-b having one possible position, 3 TDRA candidates 602c-e having more than one possible position, and 3 additional TDRA candidates 602f-h corresponding to more than one possible position).

[0105] At 1112, the base station may decode the HARQ-ACK feedback received from the UE. Figure 8 At 818 , the base station 804 may decode the HARQ-ACK feedback received from the UE 802 at 816 .

[0119] Therefore, when constructing a type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook based on DCI format 1_2 and a reference point not based on the start of a time slot, the UE can determine all potential PDSCH occurrences in the time slot for each corresponding TDRA value set based on multiple PDCCH monitoring opportunities in the time slot and corresponding TDRA candidates using the PDCCH monitoring opportunity as a reference point. The maximum number of non-overlapping TDRA candidates in the time slot can be identified to determine the maximum number of potential PDSCH occurrences in the time slot. Then, each PDSCH occurrence can be mapped to a corresponding bit in the type 1 HARQ-ACK codebook.
