A cleaning device comprising: a cleaning member movably arranged at a housing, the cleaning member comprising a cleaning portion for contacting a surface to be cleaned; a handle member arranged to connect the housing and elastically movable relative to the housing between a raised position and a lower position; a positioning member for supporting the cleaning member and positioning the cleaning member on the surface to be cleaned, the positioning member comprising at least one plate member, the plate member being generally planar and extending generally horizontally from the housing, wherein in operation the handle member is movable between the lower position and the raised position at an angle between 0 degrees and 90 degrees relative to a horizontal plane of the surface to be cleaned, when the handle member is arranged in the raised position, the handle member is compressed by an elastic member operatively connected to the housing at an angle to the horizontal plane of the surface to be cleaned, such that the angled compression of the elastic member generates a downward force generally perpendicular to the surface to be cleaned, thereby generating a downward pressure on the positioning member to position the cleaning member towards the surface to be cleaned.

2. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the handle member is pivotally movable between the raised position and the lower position under the action of the elastic member.

3. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the plate member of the positioning member extends generally horizontally from a rear end of the housing.

4. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the handle member is movable relative to a horizontal plane defined by the plate member at an angle between 0 degrees and 90 degrees.

5. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the cleaning member comprises at least in part a cylindrical body.

6. The cleaning device of claim 5, wherein, the cleaning portion is provided at a peripheral surface of the cylindrical body of the cleaning member.

7. The cleaning device of claim 6, wherein, the cleaning member is generally hollow and has an opening arranged in communication with a chamber of the housing.

8. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the cleaning member is pivotally connected within the housing such that the cleaning member is rotatable through less than 180 degrees about a longitudinal axis of the cleaning member.

9. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the cleaning member comprises at least one stop member provided at at least one distal end of the cleaning member.

10. The cleaning device of claim 9, wherein, the stop member comprises an extension extending away from the distal end of the cleaning member and towards an adjacent distal end side wall of the housing.

11. The cleaning device of claim 10, wherein, the extension is adapted to abut the adjacent distal end side wall of the housing when the cleaning member is rotated, thereby limiting rotation of the cleaning member.

12. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the cleaning member comprises a contact member provided at the cleaning portion.

13. The cleaning device of claim 12, wherein, the contact member comprises at least one protrusion extending radially from the cleaning member.

14. The cleaning device of claim 13, wherein, the contact member is arranged to extend longitudinally along at least a portion of a length of the cleaning member.

15. The cleaning device of claim 14, wherein, the protrusion of the contact member is adapted to abut a respective opposing longitudinal side wall of the housing when the cleaning member is rotated.

16. The cleaning device of claim 14, wherein, the contact member generally divides the cleaning portion into a first region and a second region, wherein the first region is adapted to contact the surface to be cleaned in a first direction and the second region is adapted to contact the surface to be cleaned in a second direction.

17. The cleaning device of claim 1, wherein, the handle member comprises a connection portion for connecting at least one handle extension to the handle member.
