AI Technical Summary
During the production process of the display panel, the distance between adjacent pixel electrodes is short, resulting in metal layer residue and metal ions migration, causing short circuits, which in turn affects the display quality.
A display panel is designed, wherein the first transparent electrode includes a first portion that is retracted and the second transparent electrode includes a third portion that is retracted, increasing the spacing to avoid metal material residues of the reflective electrodes and reducing metal ion migration between the pixel electrodes.
By increasing the spacing, the metal material residue of the reflective electrode is reduced and the incidence of short circuits of the pixel electrode is reduced, thereby improving the display quality.

[0032] In the existing display panel design, the transparent electrode does not have a retracted portion, that is, the edge of the transparent electrode is aligned with or overlaps the edge of the reflective electrode in the direction Z. In the actual manufacturing process, the manufacturing deviation of the reflective electrode is large, so that the excess metal material of the reflective electrode will exceed the edge of the transparent electrode and remain. When the distance between two adjacent pixel electrodes is too small, the migration of the metal ions of the residual reflective electrode will cause the two pixel electrodes to short-circuit, thereby causing abnormal images.
[0033] However, in the present invention, the first transparent electrode TE1 includes a retracted first portion 1020 and the second transparent electrode TE2 includes a retracted third portion 1040, so as to increase the distance of the first gap G1, and make the edge 1060 of the first transparent electrode TE1 away from the edge 1080 of the first reflective electrode RE1 and no longer overlap each other, and also make the edge 1100 of the second transparent electrode TE2 away from the edge 1120 of the second reflective electrode RE2 and no longer overlap each other. In this way, even if the manufacturing deviation of the first reflective electrode RE1 and the second reflective electrode RE2 is large, the phenomenon of residual metal material of the first reflective electrode RE1 and the second reflective electrode RE2 can be reduced, and the short circuit caused by the migration of residual metal ions in the first pixel electrode PE1 and the second pixel electrode PE2 can be reduced, thereby improving the display quality.

[0040] like Figure 3 The display panel 10 includes one or more shielding patterns (such as shielding patterns 302 and 304) disposed on the second substrate 300. A shielding pattern may overlap with a data line in the direction Z, such as the shielding pattern 302 and the data line DL2 overlap in the direction Z. Figure 2 , the shielding patterns 302 and 304 extend along the direction Y, the shielding pattern 304 overlaps with the edge 1060 of the first portion 1020 of the first transparent electrode TE1, and the shielding pattern 304 overlaps with the edge 1100 of the third portion 1040 of the second transparent electrode TE2. In other words, the shielding pattern 304 can cover the extra space generated after the transparent electrode is retracted, which can reduce light leakage to improve contrast. The remaining shielding patterns can also have the effect of the above-mentioned shielding pattern 304. The shielding pattern may include a black matrix pattern or other suitable opaque materials, but is not limited thereto.
[0041] In summary, in the display panel of the present invention, the first transparent electrode includes a retracted first portion and the second transparent electrode includes a retracted third portion, so as to increase the distance of the first spacing, and make the edge of the first transparent electrode away from the edge of the first reflective electrode and no longer overlap each other, and also make the edge of the second transparent electrode away from the edge of the second reflective electrode and no longer overlap each other.
