Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a movable sinker that cooperates with knitting needles to form loops when knitting a knitted fabric using a flat knitting machine. Background Art

[0002] Conventionally, in a flat knitting machine equipped with fixed sinkers and movable sinkers, the knitting yarn that forms the needle loop is pulled in by the hook of the knitting needle, and the knitting yarn that forms the sinker loop is hooked on the side edge of the fixed sinker on the notch side to form a new loop. The formed loop is pressed downward by the movable sinker under the notch. The fixed sinker also supports the notch wire material that becomes the top tooth. When forming a new loop, the previously formed old loop is knocked over based on the position of the notch wire material, and it is expected to obtain a knitted fabric with a stable feel (for example, refer to Patent Document 1). In order to stably form loops, it is also necessary to pull down the knitted fabric that has been knitted below the old loop under the notch. The pulling down of the knitted fabric is performed by a knitted fabric pulling-down device provided under the notch, etc., but a method of pulling down the knitted fabric hanging from the notch using a movable sinker has also been proposed (for example, refer to Patent Document 2).

[0007] Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0008] Regarding knitted fabrics knitted by a flat knitting machine, there are also knitted fabrics such as pin tucks and folded-back knitting where the fabric floats or stays at the mouth of the teeth and is difficult to descend below the mouth of the teeth. For these knitted fabrics with difficult knitting structures, simply using movable sinkers and fixed sinkers as in Patent Document 1 together, the new loops are pressed in by the movable sinkers until the mouth wires, so it is difficult to perform stable knitting. If the function of pulling down the knitted fabric as in Patent Document 2 can be added to the movable sinker of Patent Document 1, it can be expected that difficult knitting structures can also be knitted easily. However, for the movable sinker of Patent Document 2, it is necessary to pull down the knitted fabric while sandwiching it between the front and rear movable sinkers at the center of the mouth where the front and rear needle beds face each other. However, since the knitted fabric is sandwiched from both sides of the needle bed, it is difficult to cope with changes in the thickness of the knitted fabric and the like. In addition, the front and rear knitted fabrics of tubular knitted fabrics and the like are sandwiched together, and even if the movable sinker is opened, it will remain in the mouth of the teeth. Therefore, when the needle bed is moved in the length direction to stagger the facing positions of the front and rear, there is a possibility of hooking the knitted fabric.

[0009] An object of the present invention is to provide a movable sinker for a flat knitting machine that can press down the knitted fabric around the mouth of the teeth downward and does not hook the knitted fabric during lateral movement.

[0010] Means for solving the problem

[0011] The present invention is a movable sinker for a flat knitting machine. The flat knitting machine has at least a pair of needle beds on the front and rear sides with a mouth of the teeth therebetween. Knitting needles accommodated in needle grooves arranged in parallel in the length direction of each needle bed advance and retreat with respect to the mouth of the teeth to knit a knitted fabric. On the mouth side of each needle bed, mouth wires that help the old loops to be cast off are supported in a way that penetrates in the length direction.

[0012] The movable sinker of the flat knitting machine is arranged in the flat knitting machine between the knitting needles on the top side facing the mouth of the teeth of each needle bed.

[0013] An action arm that is supported by a swing support portion provided on the side wall of the needle groove at a position spaced apart in the direction away from the top side and swings and extends toward the mouth side can advance and retreat between an open position in the direction in which the action arm exits the mouth of the teeth and a closed position in the direction in which the action arm enters the mouth of the teeth.

[0014] At the top end portion where the action arm extends, at a position where the distance from the swing fulcrum is greater than the distance from the fulcrum to the position of the mouth wire and facing the mouth of the teeth, there is a loop pressing portion for pressing in a new loop by entering the mouth of the teeth.

[0015] The drive receiving portion at the top end of the drive arm that extends from the swing support portion in a direction different from the action arm receives the drive for swinging. The movable sinker of the flat knitting machine is characterized in that

[0016] The tip of the working arm in the direction of entering the tooth opening has a fabric pressing portion that protrudes and retracts from below the wire in the tooth opening with respect to the tooth opening.

[0017] In a side view, the fabric pressing portion retracts and hides on the needle bed side at the open position and protrudes and presses down the fabric hanging from the needle bed at the closed position.

[0018] Furthermore, in the present invention, it is characterized in that the fabric pressing portion has a flat shape.

[0019] Furthermore, in the present invention, it is characterized in that the working arm has an arc portion where the tip of the fabric pressing portion on the tooth opening side bends and is continuous toward the open position side.

[0020] The arc portion faces the tooth opening at a constant distance smaller than the distance from the fulcrum to the wire in the tooth opening.

[0021] Furthermore, in the present invention, it is characterized in that the flat knitting machine is a four-needle bed machine having the front and rear needle beds on upper and lower two layers respectively.

[0022] The arc portion is continuous with a concave portion where the distance from the fulcrum decreases at the end on the open position side.

[0023] The concave portion at the open position becomes the position through which the hooks of the knitting needles on the upper layer of the needle bed pass.

[0024] Furthermore, the present invention is characterized by including a coil pressing portion that is provided above the coil pressing-in portion at the closed position and has a shape that bulges downward toward the tooth opening side over the needle bottom line where the knitting needle advances and retreats.

[0025] Furthermore, in the present invention, it is characterized in that the arc portion approaches the wire in the tooth opening at an interval smaller than the diameter of the wire in the tooth opening except near the concave portion.

[0026] Advantages of the Invention

[0027] According to the present invention, the movable sinker can advance and retreat between the open position in the direction in which the working arm extending from the swing support portion provided on the side wall of the needle groove exits from the tooth opening and the closed position in the direction in which the working arm enters the tooth opening by swinging supported by the swing support portion. The fabric pressing portion provided at the tip in the extending direction of the working arm can press down the fabric hanging from the needle bed by protruding from the open position to the closed position, and thus can press down the fabric around the tooth opening downward. At the open position, the fabric pressing portion separates from the fabric and hides on the needle bed side, and thus can prevent obstacles such as hooking the fabric during lateral movement.

[0028] In addition, according to the present invention, the fabric pressing portion has a flat shape, so it will not pierce or catch when swinging from the open position to the closed position to press the fabric, and when swinging from the closed position to the open position, the fabric can be smoothly released.

[0029] In addition, according to the present invention, the tip of the fabric pressing portion on the notch side is bent toward the open position side, and is continuous with the arc portion that is at a constant distance from the fulcrum of the swing and faces the notch, so that the fabric will not catch on the arc portion, and the operating arm can be smoothly opened and closed.

[0030] In addition, according to the present invention, at the open position, a recess is provided at the position where the hook of the knitting needle on the upper layer of the four-bed knitting machine passes, so that obstacles can be prevented from being generated when the hook pulls in the knitting yarn to form a loop.

[0031] In addition, according to the present invention, the loop pressing portion can press the loop in such a way that the loop does not float at the notch in the closed position.

[0032] In addition, according to the present invention, the fabric pressing portion can appear and disappear directly below the notch wire to effectively pull down the fabric. Description of the Drawings

[0039] Hereinafter, Figures 1 to 4Relates to the structure and operation of the movable sinker 1 of the flat knitting machine 10 which is an embodiment 1 of the present invention. Figures 2 to 4 The partial structure of the flat knitting machine 10 equipped with the movable sinker 1 is shown in side view. In addition, Figure 5 and Figure 6 The structure in which the movable sinker 1 of the flat knitting machine 10 is replaced with the movable sinker 31 is shown as embodiment 2 of the present invention. Corresponding parts in each figure are denoted by the same reference numerals and shown, and repeated descriptions are sometimes omitted. In addition, for the sake of convenience in explanation, parts not shown in the figure of the object to be explained may be referred to by the reference numerals shown in other figures.

[0040] Embodiment 1

[0041] Figure 1 The front structure of the components of the movable sinker 1 which is an embodiment 1 of the present invention is shown. The movable sinker 1 is made of a metal plate such as steel, and is substantially the same as the movable sinker of Patent Document 1 except for the tip side of the acting arm. In the movable sinker 1, the acting arm 3 and the driving arm 4 extend in different directions from the swing support portion 2, and the spring 5 is also integrated. The movable sinker 1 swings with the center of the circumference of the swing support portion 2 as the fulcrum 2a. The tip portion of the acting arm 3 has a coil pressing portion 3a, a rising prevention portion 3b, a knitted fabric pressing portion 3c, an arc portion 3d, and a concave portion 3e. The driving arm 4 has a driving receiving portion 4a at its tip. The coil pressing portion 3a corresponds to the knitting yarn receiving portion of Patent Document 1. In the movable sinker 1, the distance from the fulcrum 2a to the tip portion of the acting arm 3 is larger than the radius distance from the fulcrum 2a to the driving receiving portion 4a of the driving arm 4. Therefore, the swing stroke of the acting arm 3 can be made larger than the stroke of driving the driving arm 4. The knitted fabric pressing portion 3c is a straight line or a curved surface with a large radius of curvature and has a flat shape. The portion of the knitted fabric pressing portion 3c that is farthest from the fulcrum 2a is bent toward the coil pressing portion 3a side and is continuous with the arc portion 3d having a constant distance from the fulcrum 2a. The illustrated knitted fabric pressing portion 3c and the arc portion 3d form an angle of about 70 degrees. This angle is set within a preset range, for example, within the range of 45 degrees to 135 degrees, to prevent it from becoming too small an angle.

[0042] Figure 2 Shows including Figure 1The structure in which the front and rear needle beds 11, 11 of the flat knitting machine 10 with the movable sinker 1 face each other across the mouth 13. The front and rear needle beds 11, 11 are symmetric with respect to the center 13a of the mouth, for example, with the left being the front and the right being the rear. The flat knitting machine 10 of the present embodiment is a four-needle bed machine having front and rear needle beds 11, 11 in upper and lower layers respectively, and in this regard, it is different from the flat knitting machine of Patent Document 1 which has front and rear needle beds each in one layer. However, the structure and operation related to the swing of the movable sinker 1 are the same as those of Patent Document 1. Each of the front and rear needle beds 11 includes a base plate 12 shown only on the lower layer side, a fixed sinker 14, and a needle plate (not shown) and the like. The needle plates are erected at regular intervals in the length direction in the depth direction of the figure, and needle grooves are formed between the needle plates. For the movable sinker 1, the swing support portion 2 is supported by the needle plate that forms the side wall of the needle groove at positions spaced apart in the direction away from the tip side of the needle bed 11 in such a manner that the action arm 3 extends toward the mouth side. The action arm 3 of the movable sinker 1 swings in such a manner that the tip advances and retreats with respect to the mouth 13. The illustrated movable sinker 1 is in the open position in the direction in which the action arm 3 withdraws from the mouth 13, but can also swing to the closed position in the direction in which the action arm 3 enters the mouth 13. The swing support portion 2 supported by the side wall of the needle groove can set the fulcrum 2a that becomes the center of the swing at a position floating above the bottom of the needle groove. The drive receiving portion 4a at the tip of the drive arm 4 receives drive from the sinker pusher in the needle groove.

[0043] A fixed sinker 14 is installed on the tip side of the needle plate facing the mouth 13. The fixed sinker 14 has a coil density determining portion 14a on the side edge facing the mouth 13 in the installed state. The coil density determining portion 14a is hooked by the sinker loop when forming the coil. The fixed sinker 14 also has a support portion 14b provided at a position lower than the coil density determining portion 14a. The support portion 14b has a hole for supporting the mouth wire 15. The mouth wire 15 passing through this hole in the length direction of the needle bed 11 helps the old coil to be cast off when forming the coil. The installation of the fixed sinker 14 to the base plate 12 is performed using the installation wire 14c and the installation wire at the bottom outside the illustrated range. The arc portion 3d of the movable sinker 1 faces the mouth 13 at a constant distance smaller than the distance from the fulcrum 2a to the mouth wire 15, and approaches the mouth wire 15 with an interval smaller than the diameter of the mouth wire 15.

[0044] In the needle grooves formed in the upper and lower layers of each needle bed 11, compound needles 16 are accommodated as knitting needles. In the compound needle 16, a needle body having a hook 16a at the tip on the mouth side 13 slides in the needle groove and moves forward and backward relative to the mouth 13. The compound needle 16 opens and closes the hook 16a through a slider 16b. The slider 16b is accommodated in a slider groove provided in the needle body, slides relative to the needle body, and opens and closes the hook 16a at the tip on the mouth 13 side. When forming a new loop, the hook 16a separates from the slider 16b and enters the mouth 13, catches the knitting yarn supplied at the mouth 13, and exits from the mouth 13. At the tip of the action arm 3 of the movable sinker 1, a recess 3e is provided at the corner of the loop pressing portion 3a and the arc portion 3d. The recess 3e is at a position corresponding to the trajectory through which the hook 16a of the upper-layer compound needle 16 passes at the open position of the movable sinker 1 as shown in the figure, and when the hook 16a pulls in the knitting yarn, it serves as a relief portion for preventing interference with the knitting yarn from the hook 16a to the loop density determining portion 14a of the fixed sinker 14. The corner where the fabric pressing portion 3c and the arc portion 3d are bent becomes the tip on the mouth 13 side of the action arm 3. This corner does not protrude into the mouth 13 but sinks and is hidden on the side of the needle bed 11 at the open position as shown in Figure 2 such an open position. Thus, when viewed from the side, the tip of the action arm 3 of the movable sinker 1 is hidden on the side of the needle bed 11, so even when traversing between the front and rear needle beds 11, 11, there will be no obstacle such as snagging the loop.

[0045] Figure 3 Fig. shows the structure near the mouth 13 of the needle bed 11 in a state where the movable sinker 1 is in the closed position in the flat knitting machine 10. Since the front and rear needle beds 11, 11 have the same structure, only the front needle bed 11 is shown and repeated descriptions are omitted. At the closed position, the loop pressing portion 3a approaches the mouth wire 15. The loop pressing portion 3a is provided at a position facing the mouth and at a distance from the swing fulcrum 2a greater than the distance from the fulcrum 2a to the position of the mouth wire 15. The corner where the fabric pressing portion 3c and the arc portion 3d are bent protrudes from below the mouth wire 15 toward the mouth 13 side. The loop pressing portion 3a has a function of pressing the newly formed sinker loop together with the needle loop formed by the hook 16a pulling in the knitting yarn toward the vicinity of the mouth wire 15. The arc portion 3d moves away downward from the mouth wire 15, and the distance from the fulcrum 2a decreases at the end on the open position side and is continuous with the recess 3e. It should be noted that the snagging prevention portion 3b functions at the closed position of the movable sinker 1. For the loop snagging together with the hook 16a of the compound needle 16 entering the mouth 13 from the opposite needle bed 11, it can be expected to be pressed when using a loop forming piece, but there may be a loop that cannot be completely pressed and floats or bulges at the mouth 13. The snagging prevention portion 3b functions as a wall for pressing such a loop near the needle bottom thread 16c where the lower-layer compound needle 16 moves forward and backward relative to the mouth 13.

[0046] Figure 4 Schematically shows Figure 1 The state where the movable sinker 1 pulls down the fabric 24. Only the lower layer of the compound needle 16 is shown, and the upper layer is omitted from the illustration. The movable sinker 1 is shown in the middle of swinging from the open position to the closed position. The hook 16a of the compound needle 16 temporarily enters the mouth 13, catches and pulls in the supplied knitting yarn, thereby forming a new loop 20. The new loop 20 is formed by the sinker loop 21 that is hooked on the loop density determining portion 14a of the fixed sinker 14 and the needle loop 22 that is pulled in by the hook 16a. In the case of continuously forming loops, the needle loop 22 formed on the hook 16a retreats from the hook 16a and retreats to the shank of the needle body as the hook 16a advances into the mouth 13, becoming an old loop 23. As the needle body advances, the slider 16b sinks into the slider groove while relatively retreating to open the hook 16a, so that the old loop 23 can be doffed. When the hook 16a pulls in after receiving the yarn supply in the entered mouth 13, the slider 16b advances relatively to close the hook 16a, and the old loop 23 is cast off over the slider 16b with the closed hook 16a. The cast-off old loop 23 passes over the mouth wire 15 and continues with the fabric 24 that hangs down below the mouth 13 at a position close to the needle bed 11.

[0047] The fabric pressing portion 3c that protrudes toward the mouth 13 side below the mouth wire 15 can press the fabric 24 downward at a position close to the needle bed when the movable sinker 1 swings clockwise from the open position to the closed position, rather than pressing the fabric 24 downward at the center of the mouth 13. In the swing from the closed position to the open position, it becomes counterclockwise, so the fabric pressing portion 3c can smoothly leave the fabric 24, release the pressing, and release the fabric 24. The fabric pressing portion 3c, the arc portion 3d, and its corners are flat, without protrusions or unevenness such as hooks, and will not catch on the fabric 24. Since the fabric pressing portion 3c has no part that catches on the fabric 24, it has a width in a manner that can reliably catch and hold the fabric 24.

[0048] As described above, by providing the fabric pressing portion 3c on the movable sinker 1, it is possible to effectively press the fabric that is knitted on the front and rear needle beds 11, 11 respectively and connected into a tubular shape. Especially for difficult knitting structures such as fine pleats and folded knitting, it is possible to improve the descent of the fabric and make knitting easier. Knitting of pockets, etc. also becomes easier, and the width of patterns and shapes in the tubular fabric can be expanded.

[0049] Note that the flat knitting machine 10 of this embodiment is a four-bed machine, but the present invention can also be similarly applied to a two-bed machine similar to Patent Document 1. In addition, the spring 5 is integrated with the movable sinker 1, but a separate spring may be used, or the spring biasing may not be performed. The swing of the movable sinker 1 is driven by the sinker pusher to drive the drive receiving portion 4a of the drive arm 4 in the needle groove as in Patent Document 1 so that the volume of the sinker device does not increase, but the drive needle heel may also protrude outside the needle groove and be directly driven by the cam. The compound needle 16 is used as the knitting needle, but a latch needle may also be used.

[0050] Embodiment 2

[0051] Figure 5 The front structure of the component of the movable sinker 31 as Embodiment 2 of the present invention is shown. The movable sinker 31 is substantially the same as the Figure 1 movable sinker 1 except for the tip side of the acting arm 33. That is, the swing support portion 32, the acting arm 33, the drive arm 34, the spring 35, the fulcrum 32a, the coil insertion portion 33a, the fabric pressing portion 33c, the arc portion 33d, the concave portion 33e, and the drive receiving portion 34a of the movable sinker 31 correspond to the respective parts of the movable sinker 1. However, a coil pressing portion 33b is provided with respect to the anti-snagging portion 3b of the movable sinker 1. Compared with the case where the anti-snagging portion 3b is provided, the coil pressing portion 33b has a shape that bulges downward across the needle bottom line 16c at the closed position of the movable sinker 31. The coil pressing portion 33b also functions as a wall for preventing snagging.

[0052] Figure 6 The structure near the tooth opening 13 after replacing the Figure 5 movable sinker 1 with the Figure 3 movable sinker 31 is shown. In the state where the movable sinker 31 is in the closed position as shown in the figure, the tip of the bulging coil pressing portion 33b crosses the needle bottom line 16c and enters the tooth opening 13 until the lower side. The coil pressing portion 33b that enters the tooth opening 13 can press the portion of the fabric of difficult-to-knit tissues such as fine pleats and reverse knitting that cannot be completely pressed even when the coil insertion portion 33a and the fabric pressing portion 33b function and press downward. The tip of the bulging coil pressing portion 33b is set to reach the center 13a of the tooth opening at the closed position. However, in the tooth opening 13, a loop-forming presser for pressing the fabric is sometimes used. In such a case, the tip of the bulging coil pressing portion 33b is set to reach a position closer to the needle bed 11 side in advance, avoiding the center 13a of the tooth opening through which the loop-forming presser passes.
