Description

Technical Field

[0001] The invention relates to an electromechanical brake actuator, a drive assembly for an electromechanical brake actuator and a method for installing an electromechanical brake actuator. Background Art

[0002] Electromechanical brake boosters are usually used to boost the actuation force generated manually at the brake pedal by actuating the master brake cylinder via an electric motor. Actuators are also used in so-called "brake-by-wire" systems, which are designed similarly to electrohydraulic brake boosters, in which actuation signals are generated by actuating the brake pedal or in some other way and, based on the actuation signals, an electrohydraulic actuator is actuated to generate brake pressure.

[0003] DE 10 2013 213 888 B3 discloses a hydraulic actuator for a brake system, which has a master brake cylinder, an electric motor and a transmission, which couples the electric motor to the master brake cylinder in order to convert the movement of the electric motor into an actuation of the master brake cylinder. The transmission is accommodated in a housing, wherein the master brake cylinder is positioned in an opening of the housing.

[0004] Usually, the transmission coupling the electric motor to the master brake cylinder is subjected to a restoring force via a restoring spring in order to support the movement of the transmission to its initial position when the force generated by the electric motor is eliminated. This is described, for example, in DE 10 2008 038320 A1 or DE 10 2008 054 852 A1.

[0005] Since the return spring is usually supported directly on the flange, via which the master brake cylinder is coupled to the housing accommodating the transmission, the return spring is usually fixed to the housing before the master brake cylinder is installed. Summary of the invention

[0006] According to the invention, a drive assembly for an electromechanical brake actuator having the features of claim 1 , an electromechanical brake actuator having the features of claim 9 , and a method for installing an electronic brake actuator having the features of claim 10 are provided.

[0007] According to a first aspect of the present invention, a drive structural assembly for an electromechanical brake actuator includes a housing, a transmission accommodated in the housing, at least one retaining element and a return spring, the housing having at least one guide groove extending along a longitudinal axis and an end opening, the end opening being positioned coaxially with the longitudinal axis and constructed on an end face of the housing extending transversely to the longitudinal axis, the transmission having a guide portion which is movably guided in the guide groove, the retaining element being fixed in the guide groove, protruding beyond the end face of the housing with respect to the longitudinal axis, and extending into the end opening with respect to a radial direction extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the return spring being supported on the retaining element and the transmission so as to apply a preload to the transmission directed away from the opening along the longitudinal axis.

[0008] According to a second aspect of the invention, an electromechanical brake actuator includes a drive structure component according to the first aspect of the invention and a master brake cylinder, the master brake cylinder having a cylinder housing and a piston movable in the cylinder housing, the cylinder housing having a flange with a support surface, wherein the cylinder housing is fixed to the housing of the drive structure component by means of the flange, and the support surface faces the end face of the housing, wherein each retaining element extends into a corresponding accommodating recess of the flange, and a return spring is supported on the support surface of the flange, and wherein the piston is coupled to the transmission.

[0009] According to a third aspect of the present invention, a method for installing a brake actuator according to the second aspect of the present invention is provided. The method comprises coupling a piston of a master brake cylinder to a transmission of a drive assembly; positioning the master brake cylinder relative to the drive assembly so that each retaining element is introduced into a corresponding receiving recess of the flange and the return spring is in contact with a support surface of the flange and is out of engagement with the retaining element with respect to the longitudinal axis; and fixing the flange to a housing of the drive assembly.

[0010] One of the concepts on which the invention is based is to secure the return spring of the drive assembly against falling during installation by means of a retaining element which is fixed in a guide groove provided for guiding a guide part of the transmission and which supports only discrete areas of the periphery of the return spring. Thus, the retaining element is fixed in the guide groove provided anyway and protrudes from the guide groove beyond the end of the end side of the housing and extends into the end opening of the housing in the radial direction. Thus, the return spring also protrudes from the end opening with the end. For installation, the spring can thus be compressed by a support surface on the flange of the housing of the master brake cylinder, while the retaining element sinks into a corresponding recess in the flange or the support surface.

[0011] The fixing of the retaining element in the guide groove provided anyway offers the advantage of increased functional integration. In particular, a more compact design of the drive assembly with respect to the longitudinal axis can be achieved. A further advantage is that the housing is not mechanically weakened by the additional fixing structure for holding the retaining element.

[0012] Advantageous embodiments and refinements are apparent from the further dependent claims and from the description with reference to the figures.

[0013] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the housing has a first guide groove and a second guide groove, which guide grooves each extend in the longitudinal direction, wherein the first retaining element is fixed in the first guide groove and the second retaining element is fixed in the second guide groove, and wherein the return spring is supported on the retaining element. The return spring is thus retained by the retaining element at a distanced location on its periphery. The guide grooves can in particular be arranged opposite one another, for example offset by 180 degrees, in the tubular interior of the housing.

[0014] When more than one holding element is provided, the features disclosed here for one or the holding element are disclosed for all holding elements. In this case, the holding elements are preferably constructed identically.

[0015] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the retaining element has a base web and two side webs extending transversely to the base web and elastically deformable relative to the base web, wherein the base web extends into the end opening in the radial direction, and wherein the retaining element is elastically deformed in such a way that the side webs abut against the side walls of the guide groove. Thus, the retaining element is configured as a roughly U-shaped clamp, wherein the side webs can be bent toward each other or away from each other by elastic deformation. In this way, the retaining element can be advantageously nested in the guide groove and fixed there, for example, in a form-locking, force-locking or material-locking manner. The elastic deformability and the fact that the side webs are prestressed by the side walls of the guide groove ensure a reliable, defined positioning of the retaining element, regardless of the type of fixing, and thus reduce the risk of noise generation.

[0016] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the retaining element has a foot tab on each side tab that protrudes laterally from the corresponding side tab, wherein the foot tab is accommodated in a slot that is configured in the housing and extends transversely to the guide groove. The foot tabs protrude away from each other or respectively protrude from the outer side of the corresponding side tab. The slot can be arranged in particular in the end region of the corresponding guide groove that is arranged facing the end opening. The slot forms a pocket or a recess in the mutually opposite side walls of the guide groove, into which the foot tab extends. Thus, a form-locking fixation of the retaining element in the guide groove is achieved in a simple manner.

[0017] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that an inclined portion is formed between each side tab and the base tab, which extends increasingly into the end opening in the radial direction in the direction of the base tab. The inclined portion forms a kind of distance retainer, which ensures that when the retaining element is moved in the radial direction, for example when the drive assembly is installed together with the master brake cylinder, the base tab does not come into contact with the moving section of the return spring. This effectively prevents the generation of noise. In particular, the spring can be moved closer to the peripheral wall of the housing that is provided with the guide groove in this way, so that a more compact structure is achieved.

[0018] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the guide groove opens into the end opening. Thus, the guide groove can end at the end face of the housing. Thus, the retaining element can be extended from the guide groove in a simple manner and the installation of the retaining element in the guide groove is further facilitated.

[0019] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the return spring is designed as a helical spring, wherein only the last winding of the helical spring is in contact with the retaining element. In particular, when the drive assembly is installed together with the master brake cylinder, the last winding of the helical spring can be in contact with the possibly provided bevel of the retaining element. Since the last winding is immobile or fixed in position relative to the housing, no noise is generated during operation by the bevel abutting against the last winding of the helical spring.

[0020] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the transmission has a spindle which is connected to the guide part in a rotationally fixed manner, and wherein the restoring spring exerts a restoring force on the spindle.

[0021] According to some embodiments, it can be provided that the drive assembly has an electric motor kinematically coupled to the transmission. The electric motor can be arranged or mounted on a housing or accommodated in a housing. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0030] Figure 1 The sectional view of a portion of an electromechanical brake actuator 300 is shown by way of example, which can be used, for example, as a brake booster in a vehicle brake system or as a pressure generator independent of a brake pedal. Brake actuator 300 has a drive assembly 100 and a master brake cylinder 200 . Figure 3 A top view of the end face of the drive assembly 100 is shown. Figure 4 A further cross-sectional view of the drive mechanism assembly 100 is shown, in which some components are omitted. Figure 5 A perspective view of master brake cylinder 200 is shown.

[0031] As in Figure 1 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the drive assembly 100 comprises a housing 1, a transmission 2 (in Figure 1 ), the first and second holding elements 3A, 3B and the return spring 4. Furthermore, an electric drive motor (not shown) can be part of the drive device 100.

[0032] The housing 1 delimits an interior space 10. In particular, the interior space 10 can be delimited at least partially by a cylindrical peripheral wall. Typically, the housing 1 extends along a longitudinal axis L1, which can be defined, for example, by a cylindrical axis of the interior space 10. The housing 1 has an end opening 13 on the end face 1a, which connects the end face 1a to the interior space 10. The center axis of the end opening 13 is arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis L1. Figure 3 As shown, the end opening 13 may have a circular periphery, for example.

[0033] like Figure 1 , Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown, the housing 1 has a first guide groove 11 and a second guide groove 12, which extend along or parallel to the longitudinal axis L1 and preferably open into the end opening 13 or terminate at the end surface 1a. The guide grooves 11, 12 are particularly configured on the peripheral wall of the housing 1, such as in Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown in the example. Figure 3 As further shown in the figure, it can be optionally provided that a slot 14 is constructed in the housing 1, in particular in the peripheral wall, in the end region of the corresponding guide groove 11, 12 arranged facing the end opening 13, which slot extends transversely to the corresponding guide grooves 11, 12 and intersects the guide grooves 11 and 12.

[0034] As in Figure 3 As further shown in FIG. 1 , the end face 1 a may optionally have a mounting hole 16 , via which the master brake cylinder 200 may be fixed to the housing 1 , as will be explained later, for example.

[0035] Transmission 2 in Figure 1 2 and includes a guide part 20 and a screw 21 which is fixed to the guide part 20 in a rotationally fixed manner. In addition, the transmission 2 can have a coupling component 22 which is coupled to the screw 21 in motion and can thus be moved along the longitudinal axis L1. The guide part 20 can be configured as a disk and can be guided movably in the guide grooves 11, 12 along the longitudinal axis L1. For example, the guide part 20 can have a guide projection 20A extending into the grooves 11, 12. The screw 21 is configured to be coupled to or coupled to an electric drive motor (not shown) and can be moved along the longitudinal axis L1 in order to actuate the master brake cylinder 200.

[0036] As in Figure 1 and Figure 3 As shown in FIG. 1 , the transmission 2 is accommodated in an interior space 10 of the housing 1 .

[0037] exist Figure 1 , Figure 3 and Figure 4 In the drive structure assembly 100 shown by way of example in FIG. 1 , first and second guide grooves 11, 12 and first and second guide elements 3A, 3B are provided. In particular, a retaining element 3 can be provided for each guide groove 11, 12. However, it is also conceivable that more guide grooves 11, 12 are provided than retaining elements 3. Alternatively, only one guide groove 11 and only one retaining element 3 can also be provided. Therefore, the features disclosed here for one retaining element 3 apply to all retaining elements 3, in particular to the first and second retaining elements 3A, 3B.

[0038] Figure 2 Only one retaining element 3 is shown as an example. Figure 2 As shown, the holding element 3 can be designed as a substantially U-shaped clamp. The holding element 3 can have, in particular, a base web 30 and two side webs 31. Optionally, a foot web 32 can be additionally provided for each side web 31.

[0039] The base web 30 is implemented as a square web. The side webs 31 extend from the base web 30 transversely to the base web. In particular, the side webs 31 protrude from the base web 30 with respect to a first direction X1, which extends perpendicularly or transversely to the base web 30. Figure 2 As shown, the side tabs 31 can extend at an angle to each other, so that the distance d31 between them increases with the distance from the base tab 30. Here, the side tabs 31 are designed so that they can be elastically deformed relative to the base tab 30, in particular so that they can be oriented parallel to each other. The base tab 30 extends in particular in a plane defined by the second and third directions X2, X3 extending perpendicularly to the first direction X1. As shown in Figure 2 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the base web 30 has a width b30 with respect to the second direction X2, which is greater than the width b31 of the longitudinal web 31 in the second direction X2. Figure 2 As can be seen in FIG. 3 , it can optionally be provided that an inclined portion 33 is formed between each side web 31 and the base web 30. Figure 2 As shown, the inclined portion 33 is defined by a width b31 of the side web 31 with respect to the second direction X2 which increases toward the base web 30 .

[0040] As in Figure 2 As shown in the figure, the optional footing webs 32 protrude outward or protrude from the corresponding side webs 31 with respect to the third direction X3. In particular, the footing webs 32 can be arranged on the ends of the corresponding side webs 31 that are arranged away from the base webs 30. Optionally, the footing webs 32 extend perpendicularly to the side webs 31.

[0041] The holding element 3 can be formed in particular from a metal material. For example, a semi-finished product can be milled from a sheet metal, and the base tabs 30 and the side tabs 31 and possibly the foot tabs 32 can be produced by bending the milled semi-finished product.

[0042] like Figure 1 , 3 As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 , the retaining elements 3A, 3B can be installed in the guide grooves 11, 12 of the housing 1 and fixed there, so that the retaining elements 3A, 3B respectively protrude beyond the end face 1a of the housing 1 with respect to the longitudinal axis L1 and extend into the end opening 13 with respect to the radial direction R1 extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis L1.

[0043] As shown in particular in the first retaining element 3A and the first guide groove 11 which are only shown by way of example Figure 4As can be seen in the figure, the side webs 31 can be elastically deformed so that they extend parallel to or substantially parallel to each other and are prestressed relative to the side walls 15 of the guide groove 11 so that they rest against the side walls. The optional foot webs 32 are accommodated in the gaps 14 as necessary. As a result, the retaining element 3 is fixed in the guide groove 11 in a form-fitting manner with respect to the longitudinal axis L1 and in a friction-fitting manner with respect to the radial direction R1. However, the present invention is not limited to this, but other ways of fixing the retaining element 3 in the corresponding guide grooves 11, 12 are also conceivable. The retaining element 3 also protrudes beyond the end face 1a of the housing 1 with the side webs 31. As in particular in Figure 1 and Figure 3 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the base web 30 projects into the end opening 13 in the radial direction.

[0044] The return spring 4 can be designed in particular as a helical spring and accommodated in the interior space 10 of the housing, such as Figure 1 In particular, the return spring 4 can be arranged coaxially with the longitudinal axis L1. Figure 1 As shown, the spring 4 is supported with a first end on the transmission 2, for example, on a centering sleeve 23 connected to the coupling assembly 22. In the unassembled state in which the drive assembly 100 is not installed together with the master brake cylinder 200, the spring 4 is supported with a second end, for example, with the last coil 40 of the coil spring, on the retaining element 3. As a result, the return spring 4 applies a preload force directed along the longitudinal axis L1 away from the opening 13 to the transmission 2, in particular to the spindle 21.

[0045] The at least one retaining element 3 thus secures the return spring 4 in the unmounted state of the drive assembly 100 against falling out of the end opening 13 and holds the return spring 4 in a desired position.

[0046] As in Figure 1 and Figure 5 As shown schematically and merely by way of example, master brake cylinder 200 comprises a cylinder housing 210 and a piston 220 which is guided axially displaceably in cylinder housing 210. Piston 220 serves to press hydraulic fluid in order to generate a pressure increase and a pressure reduction in a wheel brake (not shown) which is connected or can be connected to master brake cylinder 200.

[0047] As especially in Figure 5As shown in FIG. 1 , the cylinder housing 210 has a flange 212. The flange 212 can, for example, have a mounting hole 216, via which the cylinder housing 210 can be fixed to the housing 1 of the drive assembly 100, for example, by means of screws (not shown). The flange 212 has an end face or support surface 212a, in which a number of receiving recesses 213 corresponding to the number of retaining elements 3 of the drive assembly 100 are formed. The support surface 212a is preferably realized as a flat surface. As shown in FIG. Figure 5 As shown, the support surface 212a may also have a through hole 214 through which the piston 220 is guided. In addition, optionally, a centering structure for centering the return spring 4 may be provided on the flange 212, on the support surface 212a. The centering structure may be configured, for example, in the form of an annular protrusion protruding from the end face 212a and surrounding the through-receiving recess 214, as shown in FIG. Figure 5 The foregoing is only exemplarily shown.

[0048] exist Figure 1 In the embodiment, the master brake cylinder 200 and the drive assembly 100 are fixed to each other, for example, by screws (not shown) which are guided through the mounting holes 16, 216 of the housing 1 and the cylinder housing 210. Figure 1 As shown, the support surface 212a of the flange 212 of the master brake cylinder 200 faces the end surface 1a of the housing 1 of the drive structure assembly 100. Figure 1 It can be seen that each retaining element 3A, 3B extends into a corresponding receiving recess 213 of the flange 212, and the return spring 4 is supported on the support surface 212a of the flange 212. In other words, the retaining elements 3A, 3B are unloaded in the axial direction or along the longitudinal axis L1. In particular, the base tab 30 is no longer in contact with the spring 4. As shown in Figure 1 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the possibly provided bevel 33 can come into contact with the last coil 40 of the preload spring 4, which rests on the support surface 212a and is fixed in position relative to the longitudinal axis L1 even in the case of compression or extension of the preload spring 40. The bevel 33 thus prevents the corresponding retaining element 3A, 3B from sliding radially inwards in the axially unloaded state and resting on the movable coil of the spring 4, for example with the side tabs 31.

[0049] The piston 220 is coupled to the transmission 2, and the operating rod 24 of the coupling component 22 can be coupled to the piston 220, for example, as in Figure 1 As shown in the example.

[0050] Figure 6 The sequence of a method M for installing a brake actuator 300 is schematically shown and is described below by way of example with reference to the above-described brake actuator.

[0051] In step M1 , piston 220 of master brake cylinder 200 is coupled to transmission 2 of drive assembly 100 , for example by inserting actuating rod 24 into a corresponding interface of piston 220 or generally coupling it thereto.

[0052] In step M2, the master brake cylinder 200 is positioned relative to the drive assembly 100 such that each retaining element 3A, 3B is introduced into a corresponding receiving recess 213 of the flange 212 and the return spring 4 is in contact with the support surface 212a of the flange 212 and is out of engagement with the retaining element 3A, 3B with respect to the longitudinal axis L1. For example, the drive assembly 100 and the master brake cylinder 200 can be moved toward each other along the longitudinal axis L1, so that the retaining elements 3A, 3B are introduced into the receiving recess 213 of the flange 212 and the return spring 4 is in contact with the support surface 212a of the flange 212. By applying a force acting along the longitudinal axis L1, the return spring 4 is compressed and is thereby out of engagement with the retaining elements 3A, 3B with respect to the longitudinal axis L1.

[0053] Finally, in step M3, the flange 212 is fixed to the housing 1 of the drive assembly 100. For example, screws (not shown) can be guided through the mounting holes 16, 216 of the housing 1 and the cylinder housing 210 and fixed with nuts (not shown).

[0054] Although the present invention has been explained above by way of example with reference to an embodiment, the present invention is not limited thereto but can be modified in various ways. In particular, combinations of the aforementioned embodiments are also conceivable.
