[0087] Figure 1A three-dimensional diagram of an antenna structure 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The antenna structure 100 can be applied to a mobile device, such as a smart phone, a tablet computer, or a notebook computer. Figure 1 In the embodiment of the present invention, the antenna structure 100 at least includes: a ground element 110, a feeding radiation element 120, a connection radiation element 130, a coupling radiation element 140, a first short-circuit radiation element 150, and a second short-circuit radiation element 160, wherein the ground element 110, the feeding radiation element 120, the connection radiation element 130, the coupling radiation element 140, the first short-circuit radiation element 150, and the second short-circuit radiation element 160 can all be made of metal materials, such as copper, silver, aluminum, iron, or alloys thereof.
[0088] The ground element 110 may be implemented by a ground copper foil. In some embodiments, the ground element 110 may also be coupled to a ground voltage VSS, which may be provided by a system ground plane of the antenna structure 100 (not shown).
[0089] The feeding radiation portion 120 has a first end 121 and a second end 122, wherein a feeding point FP is located at the first end 121 of the feeding radiation portion 120. The feeding point FP can also be coupled to a positive electrode of a signal source 199, and a negative electrode of the signal source 199 can be coupled to the ground element 110. For example, the signal source 199 can be a radio frequency (RF) module, which can be used to excite the antenna structure 100. In some embodiments, the feeding radiation portion 120 can be substantially in the shape of a straight strip, but is not limited thereto.
[0090] The connecting radiation portion 130 and the feeding radiation portion 120 may be substantially perpendicular to each other, but not limited thereto. Specifically, the connecting radiation portion 130 has a first end 131 and a second end 132, wherein the first end 131 of the connecting radiation portion 130 is coupled to the second end 122 of the feeding radiation portion 120. In some embodiments, the connecting radiation portion 130 may be substantially in another straight strip shape, but not limited thereto.
[0091] The coupling radiation portion 140 may have a first edge 141, a second edge 142, and a third edge 143, wherein the first edge 141 and the second edge 142 may be opposite to each other, and the third edge 143 may be between the first edge 141 and the second edge 142. In detail, the coupling radiation portion 140 includes a narrow portion 144 and a wide portion 145, wherein the wide portion 145 may be coupled to the second end 132 of the connecting radiation portion 130 via the narrow portion 144. That is, the coupling radiation portion 140 may be coupled to the feeding radiation portion 120 via the connecting radiation portion 130. In some embodiments, the coupling radiation portion 140 may substantially present an inverted T shape, but is not limited thereto.
[0092] In addition, the coupling radiation portion 140 may be adjacent to the feeding radiation portion 120. It should be noted that the term "adjacent" or "adjacent" in this specification may refer to a distance between the corresponding two elements being less than a predetermined distance (e.g., 10 mm or shorter), but generally does not include a situation where the corresponding two elements are in direct contact with each other (i.e., the aforementioned distance is shortened to 0). In some embodiments, a first coupling gap GC1 may be formed between the first edge 141 of the feeding radiation portion 120 and the coupling radiation portion 140, and a second coupling gap GC2 may be formed between the grounding element 110 and the third edge 143 of the coupling radiation portion 140. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the positions of the feeding radiation portion 120 and the coupling radiation portion 140 may be swapped with each other, so that another first coupling gap GC1 may be formed between the second edge 142 of the feeding radiation portion 120 and the coupling radiation portion 140.
[0093] The first short-circuit radiating portion 150 has a first end 151 and a second end 152, wherein the first end 151 of the first short-circuit radiating portion 150 is coupled to a first grounding point GP1 on the grounding element 110, and the second end 152 of the first short-circuit radiating portion 150 is coupled to the second end 132 of the connecting radiating portion 130 and the narrower portion 144 of the coupling radiating portion 140. That is, both the connecting radiating portion 130 and the coupling radiating portion 140 can be coupled to the grounding element 110 via the first short-circuit radiating portion 150. In some embodiments, the first short-circuit radiating portion 150 can be substantially L-shaped, but is not limited thereto.
[0094] The second short-circuit radiation portion 160 has a first end 161 and a second end 162, wherein the first end 161 of the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 is coupled to a second grounding point GP2 on the grounding element 110, and the second end 162 of the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 is coupled to the second end 122 of the feeding radiation portion 120 and the first end 131 of the connecting radiation portion 130. That is, both the feeding radiation portion 120 and the connecting radiation portion 130 can be coupled to the grounding element 110 via the second short-circuit radiation portion 160. In some embodiments, the second grounding point GP2 is different from the aforementioned first grounding point GP1. For example, the first grounding point GP1 and the second grounding point GP2 can be respectively located at two ends of the grounding element 110, but it is not limited thereto. In some embodiments, the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 can be substantially in another L-shape, but it is not limited thereto.
[0095] It should be noted that the grounding element 110, the connecting radiation portion 130, the first short-circuit radiation portion 150, and the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 can together form a completely closed loop structure (Loop Structure) 170, wherein the feeding radiation portion 120 and the coupling radiation portion 140 can be surrounded by the loop structure 170. For example, if the loop structure 170 is substantially in the shape of a hollow rectangle, the feeding radiation portion 120 and the coupling radiation portion 140 can be located inside the hollow rectangle, but it is not limited thereto.
[0096] In some embodiments, the antenna structure 100 may further include a nonconductive support element 180, wherein the ground element 110, the feed radiation portion 120, the connection radiation portion 130, the coupling radiation portion 140, the first short-circuit radiation portion 150, and the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 may be disposed on the nonconductive support element 180. In detail, the nonconductive support element 180 may have a first surface E1 and a second surface E2 perpendicular to each other, wherein the ground element 110, the feed radiation portion 120, the connection radiation portion 130, the coupling radiation portion 140, the first short-circuit radiation portion 150, and the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 may be distributed on the first surface E1 and the second surface E2 of the nonconductive support element 180. For example, except that the grounding element 110 is only disposed on the first surface E1 and the connecting radiation portion 130 is only disposed on the second surface E2, the rest such as the feeding radiation portion 120, the coupling radiation portion 140, the first short-circuit radiation portion 150, and the second short-circuit radiation portion 160 can all extend from the first surface E1 to the second surface E2. However, the present invention is not limited to this. In other embodiments, the non-conductive support element 180 can be implemented by a printed circuit board (PCB), so that the antenna structure 100 can become a planar antenna structure, but it will not affect its actual radiation performance.
[0097] Figure 2 A graph showing the return loss of the antenna structure 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown, wherein the horizontal axis represents the operating frequency (MHz) and the vertical axis represents the return loss (dB). Figure 2 According to the measurement results, the antenna structure 100 can cover a low frequency band (Frequency Band) FBL, a first high frequency band FBH1, a second high frequency band FBH2, and a third high frequency band FBH3. For example, the low frequency band FBL can be between 2400MHz and 2500MHz, the first high frequency band FBH1 can be between 5100MHz and 6000MHz, the second high frequency band FBH2 can be between 6000MHz and 6600MHz, and the third high frequency band FBH3 can be between 6600MHz and 7125MHz. Therefore, the antenna structure 100 will at least support the broadband operation of the traditional WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) and the new generation Wi-Fi 6E.
[0098] In some embodiments, the operating principle of the antenna structure 100 can be as follows. A first resonant path PA1 can be formed along the feeding radiation portion 120, the connecting radiation portion 130, the first edge 141, the third edge 143, the second edge 142, the first short-circuit radiation portion 150, and the grounding element 110, wherein the first resonant path PA1 can excite the aforementioned low-frequency band FBL and the second high-frequency band FBH2. In addition, a second resonant path PA2 can be formed along the feeding radiation portion 120, the connecting radiation portion 130, and the first edge 141 of the coupling radiation portion 140, wherein the second resonant path PA2 can excite the aforementioned first high-frequency band FBH1. In the coupling radiation part 140, the length of the first resonance path PA1 and the length of the second resonance path PA2 can be adjusted simultaneously by changing the width W1 of the narrower part 144 and the width W2 of the wider part 145, wherein the change of the width W1 of the narrower part 144 can affect the feed matching of the antenna structure 100, and the change of the width W2 of the wider part 145 can affect the width of the first coupling gap GC1 and the width of the second coupling gap GC2. Furthermore, a third resonance path PA3 can be formed along the feeding radiation part 120 and the second short-circuit radiation part 160, wherein the third resonance path PA3 can excite the aforementioned third high-frequency band FBH3. According to actual measurement results, the first coupling gap GC1 and the second coupling gap GC2 can be used to fine-tune the impedance matching (Impedance Matching) of the aforementioned low-frequency band FBL, the first high-frequency band FBH1, the second high-frequency band FBH2, and the third high-frequency band FBH3, thereby increasing its operational bandwidth (Operational Bandwidth).
[0099] In some embodiments, the element sizes of the antenna structure 100 may be as follows. The length of the first resonant path PA1 may be approximately equal to 0.5 times the wavelength (λ / 2) of the low frequency band FBL of the antenna structure 100. The length of the second resonant path PA2 may be approximately equal to 0.5 times the wavelength (λ / 2) of the first high frequency band FBH1 of the antenna structure 100. The length of the third resonant path PA3 may be approximately equal to 0.5 times the wavelength (λ / 2) of the third high frequency band FBH3 of the antenna structure 100. In the coupled radiation portion 140, the width W1 of the narrower portion 144 may be between 2 mm and 6 mm, and the width W2 of the wider portion 145 may be between 9 mm and 13 mm. The width of the first coupling gap GC1 may be greater than or equal to the width of the second coupling gap GC2. For example, the width of the first coupling gap GC1 may be between 0.05 mm and 4 mm, and the width of the second coupling gap GC2 may be between 0.05 mm and 3 mm. The above size range is obtained based on multiple experimental results, which helps to optimize the operating bandwidth and impedance matching of the antenna structure 100 .
[0100] The following embodiments will introduce different configurations and detailed structural features of the antenna structure 100. It must be understood that these drawings and descriptions are only examples and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
[0101] Figure 3 A three-dimensional diagram of a notebook computer 300 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. Figure 3 In the embodiment of the present invention, the antenna structure 100 can be applied to a notebook computer 300, wherein the notebook computer 300 at least includes a keyboard frame 330, a base housing 340, and a hinge element 350. It should be understood that the keyboard frame 330 and the base housing 340 are respectively equivalent to the so-called "C part" and "D part" in the field of notebook computers. In detail, the antenna structure 100 can be arranged between the keyboard frame 330 and the base housing 340, and can be adjacent to the hinge element 350. Under this design, even if the keyboard frame 330 and the base housing 340 are both made of metal materials, the main radiation direction of the antenna structure 100 can be configured to be toward the hinge element 350, so that the antenna structure 100 can provide sufficient radiation gain. In addition, the three-dimensional design of the non-conductive support element 180 allows the antenna structure 100 to correspond to different shapes of the hinge element 350.
[0102] Figure 4 A perspective view of an antenna structure 400 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. Figure 4 and Figure 1Similar. Figure 4 In the embodiment of the present invention, the aforementioned coupling radiation portion 140 can be regarded as a first coupling radiation portion, and the antenna structure 400 can also include a second coupling radiation portion 490, wherein the second coupling radiation portion 490 can also be surrounded by the loop structure 170. For example, the second coupling radiation portion 490 can roughly present another relatively smaller inverted T-shape, which can be coupled to a connection point (Connection Point) CP on the second short-circuit radiation portion 160. It must be noted that the aforementioned feeding radiation portion 120 is arranged between the first coupling radiation portion 140 and the second coupling radiation portion 490. According to actual measurement results, the addition of the second coupling radiation portion 490 helps to further increase the operating bandwidth of the antenna structure 400 (especially the bandwidth of the first high-frequency band FBH1, the second high-frequency band FBH2, and the third high-frequency band FBH3). Figure 4 The remaining features of the antenna structure 400 are the same as Figure 1 The antenna structure 100 is similar, so the two embodiments can achieve similar operating effects.
[0103] Figure 5 A perspective view of an antenna structure 500 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. Figure 5 and Figure 4 Similar. Figure 5 In the embodiment, the antenna structure 500 may also include only the second coupling radiation portion 490, but not the first coupling radiation portion 140. According to actual measurement results, the addition of the second coupling radiation portion 490 can further subdivide the first high-frequency band FBH1, the second high-frequency band FBH2, and the third high-frequency band FBH3 of the antenna structure 500 into more sub-bands, so that the impedance matching of each sub-band can be adjusted. Figure 5 The remaining features of the antenna structure 500 are the same as Figure 4 The antenna structure 400 is similar, so the two embodiments can achieve similar operating effects.
[0104] Figure 6 A perspective view of an antenna structure 600 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. Figure 6 and Figure 1 Similar. Figure 6In the embodiment of the present invention, a coupling radiation portion 640 of the antenna structure 600 may be substantially L-shaped. Specifically, the coupling radiation portion 640 has a first end 641 and a second end 642, wherein the first end 641 of the coupling radiation portion 640 is coupled to the connecting radiation portion 130 and the first short-circuit radiation portion 150, and the second end 642 of the coupling radiation portion 640 is an open end. In addition, the coupling radiation portion 640 may further include a terminal bending portion 646, so that the second end 642 of the coupling radiation portion 640 may extend in a direction away from the ground element 110. According to actual measurement results, since the length of the second resonance path corresponding to the first high-frequency band FBH1 of the antenna structure 600 will become shorter, the L-shaped coupling radiation portion 640 will be used to adjust the high-frequency frequency shift of the antenna structure 600, wherein the aforementioned first high-frequency band FBH1 will also become higher than before. Figure 6 The remaining features of the antenna structure 600 are the same as Figure 1 The antenna structure 100 is similar, so the two embodiments can achieve similar operating effects.
[0105] Figure 7 A perspective view of an antenna structure 700 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. Figure 7 and Figure 1 Similar. Figure 7 In the embodiment of the present invention, a coupled radiation portion 740 of the antenna structure 700 may be substantially in an I-shape.
