[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the China Patent Office on October 17, 2022, with application number 202211268966.4 and application name “A foldable electronic device and its hinge mechanism”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0003] The present application relates to the technical field of electronic equipment, and in particular to a foldable electronic device and a hinge mechanism thereof. Background Art
[0004] As flexible display technology matures, the display mode of electronic devices has undergone tremendous changes. Foldable flexible display mobile phones, foldable flexible display tablets, and wearable electronic devices with foldable flexible displays are an important evolutionary direction for future smart electronic devices.
[0005] Flexible displays are key components in foldable electronic devices, featuring continuous foldability. The hinge mechanism, a crucial component for achieving the folding function, forms a screen-holding space to accommodate the bent portion of the flexible display when the foldable electronic device is closed, preventing the flexible display from being pulled or squeezed. In current foldable electronic devices, a symmetrical design is typically employed to ensure the hinge mechanism can form a screen-holding space that meets screen-holding requirements. However, this complicates the structure of the foldable electronic device.
[0006] Summary of the Invention
[0007] The present application provides a foldable electronic device and a hinge mechanism thereof, so as to simplify the structure of the hinge mechanism and thus simplify the structure of the electronic device.
[0008] In a first aspect, the present application provides an electronic device, which is a foldable electronic device and may include a first housing, a second housing, a hinge mechanism, a flexible display, and an end cap. The first housing and the second housing are disposed on opposite sides of the hinge mechanism, and the first and second housings can be relatively unfolded and closed via the hinge mechanism. The flexible display can continuously cover the first housing, the second housing, and the hinge mechanism, and can be fixedly connected to the first and second housings. Thus, as the first and second housings rotate relative to the hinge mechanism, the flexible display can bend accordingly, with the bent portion of the flexible display being arranged correspondingly to the hinge mechanism. Furthermore, the first housing includes a first exterior surface, which is the surface of the first housing facing away from the flexible display. The hinge mechanism may include a base, which may have a first arcuate groove. The end cap has a first receiving groove on a surface facing the flexible display, and at least a portion of the base can be received in the first receiving groove, thereby protecting the base. When the electronic device is in the closed and extended states, the first exterior surface can overlap the groove surface of the first receiving groove, thereby providing a complete exterior surface between the first housing and the end cap. Furthermore, when the electronic device switches between the closed and extended states, at least a portion of the first housing can rotate within the first arcuate groove. This design can simplify the structure of the first housing and reduce its weight, thereby simplifying the structure of the electronic device.
[0009] In addition, in this application, the second housing has a second exterior surface, which is located on the side of the second housing facing away from the flexible display. The spacing between the first exterior surface and the flexible display is smaller than the spacing between the second exterior surface and the flexible display. This design allows the first and second housings to have unequal structures and reduces the thickness of the first housing, thereby facilitating a thinner design for the first housing and simplifying its structure, thereby facilitating a simplified design for the electronic device.
[0010] In the electronic device provided herein, the second housing may have a second receiving slot, and the end cap may have a third appearance surface, which is the surface of the end cap facing away from the base. When the electronic device is in a closed or extended state, the third appearance surface overlaps the groove surface of the second receiving slot, thereby providing a complete appearance surface between the second housing and the end cap. Therefore, the electronic device provided herein has a complete appearance surface in both the closed and extended states, which helps improve the electronic device's aesthetic appearance.
[0011] The hinge mechanism is a key component for realizing the rotation of the electronic device. When it is specifically configured, it may also include a main shaft module, which includes a first rotating assembly and a second rotating assembly. The first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are respectively arranged on opposite sides of the base. Among them, the first rotating assembly may include a first support plate, which is rotatably connected to the base, and the first support plate is fixedly connected to the first shell, so that the first shell is rotatably connected to the base through the first support plate. The second rotating assembly may include a first support arm and a shell fixing frame, which is rotatably connected to the base, the shell fixing frame is fixedly connected to the second shell, and the first support arm is slidably connected to the shell fixing frame, so that the second shell is rotatably connected to the base through the first support plate.
[0012] In a possible implementation of the present application, the first support plate includes a first plate surface, and the first plate surface is used to support the flexible display screen, and the flexible display screen can be bonded to the first plate surface of the first support plate. Specifically, the flexible display screen can be bonded to a partial area of the first plate surface. Thereby, when the electronic device is in the expanded state, the first shell, the second shell and the first support plate can jointly play a role in stably supporting the flexible display screen. In the process of the electronic device changing from the expanded state to the closed state, the first support plate can drive the flexible display screen to rotate, which can effectively prevent the flexible display screen from deforming, so as to reduce the risk of damage to the flexible display screen. In addition, when the electronic device is in the closed state, the flexible display screen can fit with the first support plate, which can help improve the light and shadow of the flexible display screen.
[0013] In addition, in order to realize the rotational connection between the first support plate and the base, in a possible implementation of the present application, a first arc-shaped rotating block is provided at one end of the first support plate for rotational connection with the base. The first arc-shaped rotating block can be accommodated in the first arc-shaped groove and can be rotated along the arc-shaped surface of the first arc-shaped groove, so that the first support plate and the base are rotationally connected by means of a virtual axis, which is conducive to reducing the space occupied by the first support plate on the base, thereby facilitating the narrowing design of the rotating shaft mechanism, which is conducive to the miniaturization design of the electronic equipment.
[0014] In the present application, the first rotating member may also include a first rotating member, a first support plate having a notch, at least a portion of the first rotating member can be accommodated in the notch, and the first support plate is rotatably connected to the first rotating member via a first rotating shaft, and the first support arm is rotatably connected to the first rotating member. In addition, the rotation centerline of the first support plate and the base being rotatably connected is the first axis, the rotation centerline of the first support plate and the first rotating member being rotatably connected is the second axis, and the first axis and the second axis are spaced apart; the rotation centerline of the first support arm and the base being rotatably connected is the third axis, the rotation centerline of the first support arm and the first rotating member being rotatably connected is the fourth axis, and the third axis and the fourth axis are spaced apart. In this way, when the first shell and the second shell are relatively closed, the first support arm rotates around the base, and the first rotating member moves toward the first support plate, thereby causing the first support plate to rotate around the base, and the first support plate and the first support arm to rotate toward each other. When the first and second shells are unfolded relative to each other, the first support arm rotates around the base, and the first rotating member moves toward the first support arm, causing the first support plate to rotate around the base under the pull of the first rotating member. The first support plate and the first support arm also rotate away from each other, thereby achieving synchronous reverse movement of the first and second rotating assemblies. This allows the first and second shells to synchronize reverse movement during the unfolding and closing of the electronic device, which can help improve the consistency of the forces applied by the first and second shells to the flexible display, thereby effectively reducing the risk of damage to the flexible display.
[0015] In one possible implementation of the present application, the first rotating assembly may further include a first elastic member, which is sleeved onto the first rotating shaft. Furthermore, the first support plate may further include a first cam surface, and the first rotating member may include a second cam surface, axially along the first rotating shaft. Thus, under the action of the first elastic member, the first cam surface and the second cam surface can abut against each other, thereby generating a damping force during the relative rotation of the first support plate and the first rotating member. When this rotating shaft mechanism is applied to an electronic device, this damping force can be clearly felt by the user during the folding process of the electronic device, thereby improving the user experience.
[0016] In order to improve the movement stability of the second rotating assembly, the second rotating assembly may further include a second support arm, which is rotatably connected to the base and slidably connected to the shell fixing frame, so that the first support arm and the second support arm jointly drive the second shell to rotate, which is conducive to improving the stability of the second shell movement.
[0017] In the present application, the first rotating assembly may further include a second rotating member, at least a portion of which may be accommodated in the notch of the first support plate. The second rotating member may be rotatably connected to the first support plate via a first rotating shaft. In this case, the first rotating member, the second rotating member, and the first support plate are rotatably connected via the first rotating shaft, i.e., the rotation centerline of the rotational connection between the first support plate and the second rotating member coincides with the rotation centerline of the rotational connection between the first support plate and the first rotating member. In addition, the second support arm is rotatably connected to the second rotating member. The rotation centerline of the rotational connection between the second support arm and the base is the fifth axis, and the rotation centerline of the rotational connection between the second support arm and the second rotating member is the sixth axis, and the fifth axis and the sixth axis are spaced apart. In this way, when the first shell and the second shell are relatively closed, the second support arm rotates around the base, and the second rotating member moves toward the first support plate, so that the first support plate rotates around the base under the push of the second rotating member, and the first support plate and the second support arm rotate toward each other. When the first shell and the second shell are relatively unfolded, the second support arm rotates around the base, and the second rotating member moves toward the second support arm, so that the first support plate rotates around the base under the pull of the second rotating member, and the first support plate rotates away from the second support arm, thereby realizing the synchronous reverse movement of the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly.
[0018] Furthermore, the first support plate may have a third cam surface, and the second rotating member may have a fourth cam surface, in the axial direction along the first rotating axis. The third and fourth cam surfaces may abut against each other, thereby generating a damping force during the relative rotation of the first support plate and the second rotating member. Thus, during the rotation of the first support plate about the base, two pairs of damping forces act on the first rotating assembly, which can enhance the user experience during use.
[0019] The first elastic member mentioned above in this application can also act on the second rotating member, so that under the elastic force of the first elastic member, the third cam surface and the fourth cam surface are closely abutted to increase the damping force during the relative rotation of the first support plate and the second rotating member.
[0020] In order to improve the consistency of the movements of the first support arm and the second support arm, the first support arm and the second support arm may be rotatably connected to the base via a second rotating shaft.
[0021] As can be seen from the above description, damping force can be generated by the cooperation of the cam surfaces. Based on this, the second rotating assembly can also be reasonably designed to generate a damping force during its rotation. In specific implementation, in one possible embodiment of the present application, the base may further include a first cam member, which is rotatably connected to the first support arm via a second rotating shaft, and the first cam member is connected to the base via a third rotating shaft. This eliminates the rotational relationship between the first cam member and the base.
[0022] Additionally, the second rotating member may include a second elastic member, which is sleeved onto the second rotating shaft. In the axial direction along the second rotating shaft, the first support arm may have a fifth cam surface, which is disposed toward the second support arm. The first cam member may also have a sixth cam surface, which is disposed away from the second support arm. Under the elastic force of the second elastic member, the fifth and sixth cam surfaces may abut against each other. Thus, a damping force may be generated between the first support arm and the base during rotation relative to the base.
[0023] In one possible implementation of the present application, the base may further include a second cam member, which is rotatably connected to the second support arm via a second rotating shaft and rotatably connected to the first cam member via a third rotating shaft. Furthermore, along the axial direction of the second rotating shaft, the second support arm may have a seventh cam surface, which is disposed toward the first support arm; and the second cam member may have an eighth cam surface, which is disposed away from the first support arm. Under the action of the second elastic member, the seventh and eighth cam surfaces may abut against each other. In this way, a damping force may be generated between the second support arm and the base during rotation relative to the base.
[0024] In a possible implementation of the present application, the base may further include a first damping bracket and a second damping bracket. The first cam member abuts against the first damping bracket, and the second cam member abuts against the second damping bracket, thereby limiting the first cam member and the second cam member in the axial direction.
[0025] To achieve abutment between the first cam member and the first damping bracket, and between the second cam member and the second damping bracket, the base may further include a third elastic member that can be sleeved on the third rotating shaft. Thus, under the elastic force of the third elastic member, the first cam member can abut against the first damping bracket, and the second cam member can abut against the second damping bracket.
[0026] In the present application, the first end of the second rotating shaft can be engaged with the first damping bracket for limiting position, and the second end of the second rotating shaft can be engaged with the second damping bracket for limiting position, thereby limiting the second rotating shaft in the axial direction. Similarly, the first end of the third rotating shaft can be engaged with the first damping bracket for limiting position, and the second end of the third rotating shaft can be engaged with the second damping bracket for limiting position, thereby limiting the third rotating shaft in the axial direction.
[0027] In addition, the first end of the second rotating shaft and the first end of the third rotating shaft can both be engaged with a first limiting piece, and the first limiting piece abuts against the first damping bracket, thereby achieving the connection between the first end of the second rotating shaft and the first end of the third rotating shaft and the first damping bracket. Similarly, the second end of the second rotating shaft and the second end of the third rotating shaft can both be engaged with a second limiting piece, and the second limiting piece abuts against the second damping bracket, thereby achieving the connection between the second end of the second rotating shaft and the second end of the third rotating shaft and the second damping bracket.
[0028] In one possible implementation of the present application, the second damping bracket may further include a ninth cam surface axially along the second rotation axis, the ninth cam surface being disposed toward the second support arm; and the second support arm may further include a tenth cam surface disposed away from the first support arm. Under the action of the second elastic member, the ninth and tenth cam surfaces may abut against each other. In this way, a damping force may be generated between the second support arm and the base during rotation thereof relative to the base.
[0029] In one possible implementation of the present application, the base may include a bearing surface that can be used to support the flexible display. The second rotating assembly includes a second support plate and a swing arm. The second support plate is rotatably connected to the housing fixing frame and includes a second plate surface that is used to support the flexible display.
[0030] The swing arm is rotatably connected to the base, with the rotation axis of the first support arm and the swing arm being parallel and non-coincidental. This allows for phase differentiation between the swing arm and the first support arm. As the hinge mechanism rotates, the second rotating assembly telescopes relative to the base, adapting to the length of the flexible display. This prevents stretching or squeezing of the flexible display, reduces the risk of damage, and extends its service life.
[0031] Furthermore, because the relative distance between the first rotating assembly and the base does not increase during its rotation about the base, the structural design of the first rotating assembly side of the hinge mechanism can be simplified, occupying less space, thereby helping to reduce the volume of the entire hinge mechanism. This facilitates the miniaturization and thinning of electronic devices.
[0032] In one possible implementation of the present application, the swing arm is slidably connected to the housing mount. The housing mount may be provided with a first slot extending in a first direction and a third slot extending in a second direction. The first support arm can slide within the first slot, and the swing arm can slide within the third slot. Furthermore, the projection of the first direction on a first cross-section and the projection of the second direction on the first cross-section are not parallel. The first cross-section serves as a reference plane perpendicular to the rotation axes of the first support arm and the swing arm. Thus, by rationally designing the orientations of the first and third slots, the rotation angles of the first support arm and the swing arm relative to the base can be adjusted. For example, the rotation angles of both the first support arm and the swing arm can be set to no greater than 90°. This reduces the rotation angles of the first support arm and the swing arm relative to the base, thereby preventing other components of the pivot mechanism from compromising the swing arm's rotation. This can facilitate increasing the wall thickness of local structures of the swing arm, thereby improving the structural reliability of the swing arm. Furthermore, when this hinge mechanism is applied to electronic devices, it can effectively avoid the need for thinning components within the electronic device to accommodate the rotation of the swing arm, thereby improving the reliability of the overall structure of the electronic device. Furthermore, it can reduce the risk of the swing arm's rotation squeezing the electronic device's flexible display, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the flexible display and extending its service life.
[0033] With this design, when the hinge mechanism is in the closed state, the angle between the first plate surface and the support surface can be greater than the angle between the second plate surface and the support surface, thereby forming a screen-accommodating space for the bendable portion of the flexible display screen between the first plate surface, the second plate surface, and the support surface. Here, the closed state of the hinge mechanism does not necessarily mean that the two rotating components of the hinge mechanism are completely and seamlessly fitted together; it refers to the state of the hinge mechanism when the electronic device is in the closed state.
[0034] Since in the hinge mechanism provided in the present application, the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are arranged asymmetrically relative to each other or relative to the base, the hinge mechanism can be used to form a triangular screen-holding space inclined toward the first support plate between the first support plate, the second support plate and the base. When the hinge mechanism is applied to an electronic device, the bendable portion of the flexible display screen of the electronic device can be accommodated in the screen-holding space and take an eccentric teardrop shape. In this way, the width of the bending area of the flexible display screen can be effectively reduced while avoiding squeezing the flexible display screen, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the flexible display screen, so as to improve the user experience. At the same time, since the two sides of the hinge mechanism do not need to be set to exactly the same structure, the structural design of one side of the hinge structure can be streamlined, and such a design can also simplify the overall structure of the hinge mechanism.
[0035] There are many ways to implement the rotational connection between the second support plate and the housing mounting bracket. In one possible implementation of the present application, a rotation groove can be provided on the housing mounting bracket, and a rotation portion can be provided on the first support plate. In this way, the rotation portion can be mounted in the rotation groove and rotate along the groove surface of the rotation groove.
[0036] Furthermore, when the second rotating assembly includes a second support arm, the housing mounting bracket may also be provided with a second slide groove extending along the first direction, so that the second support arm can slide within the second slide groove. Thus, by appropriately designing the orientation of the second slide groove, the rotation angle of the second support arm relative to the base can be adjusted. For example, the rotation angle of the second support arm can be set to no greater than 90°.
[0037] In another possible implementation of the present application, the swing arm is rotatably connected to the housing mounting bracket. With this solution, a link-slider mechanism is formed between the first support arm and the swing arm. When the electronic device moves from a closed state to an expanded state, the first support arm can rotate 90°, but the swing arm must rotate more than 90°.
[0038] On the second aspect, the present application also provides a hinge mechanism, which can be used for a foldable electronic device, and the hinge mechanism is arranged corresponding to the bendable part of the flexible display screen of the electronic device, and the electronic device is unfolded or closed by the hinge mechanism. In the specific arrangement of the hinge mechanism, it may include a base and a main shaft module. The main shaft module includes a first rotating assembly and a second rotating assembly, and the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are respectively arranged on opposite sides of the base. The first rotating assembly may include a first support plate and a first rotating member, the first support plate has a notch, at least a portion of the first rotating member can be accommodated in the notch, and the first support plate and the first rotating member are rotatably connected via a first rotating shaft. The second rotating assembly may include a first support arm, the first support arm is rotatably connected to the base, and the first support arm is rotatably connected to the first rotating member. In addition, the rotation centerline of the first support plate and the base is a first axis, the rotation centerline of the first support plate and the first rotating member is a second axis, and the first axis and the second axis are spaced apart. The rotation centerline of the first support arm and the base is a third axis, the rotation centerline of the first support arm and the first rotating member is a fourth axis, and the third axis and the fourth axis are spaced apart. Thus, when the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are relatively closed, the first support arm rotates around the base, and the first rotating member moves toward the first support plate, thereby causing the first support plate to rotate around the base under the push of the first rotating member, and the first support plate and the first support arm to rotate toward each other. In addition, when the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are relatively expanded, the first support arm rotates around the base, and the first rotating member moves toward the first support arm, thereby causing the first support plate to rotate around the base under the pull of the first rotating member, and the first support plate and the first support arm to rotate away from each other, thereby achieving synchronous reverse motion of the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly.
[0039] In order to realize the rotational connection between the first support plate and the base, in a possible implementation of the present application, the base may be provided with a first arcuate groove, and one end of the first support plate for rotational connection with the base is provided with a first arcuate rotating block, and the first arcuate rotating block can be accommodated in the first arcuate groove and can be rotated along the arc surface of the first arcuate groove, so that the first support plate and the base are rotationally connected by means of a virtual axis, which is conducive to reducing the space occupied by the first support plate on the base, thereby facilitating the narrowing design of the rotating shaft mechanism, which is conducive to the miniaturization design of the electronic equipment.
[0040] In one possible implementation of the present application, the first rotating assembly may further include a first elastic member, which is sleeved onto the first rotating shaft.
[0041] In order to improve the movement stability of the second rotating assembly, the second rotating assembly may also include a second support arm, which is rotatably connected to the base, so that the first support arm and the second support arm jointly drive a shell of the electronic device to rotate, which is conducive to improving the stability of the shell movement.
[0042] In the present application, the first rotating assembly may further include a second rotating member, at least a portion of which may be accommodated in the notch of the first support plate. The second rotating member may be rotatably connected to the first support plate via a first rotating shaft. In this case, the first rotating member, the second rotating member, and the first support plate are rotatably connected via the first rotating shaft, i.e., the center line of the rotational connection between the first support plate and the second rotating member coincides with the center line of the rotational connection between the first support plate and the first rotating member. In addition, the second support arm is rotatably connected to the second rotating member. The rotational center line of the rotational connection between the second support arm and the base is the fifth axis, and the rotational center line of the rotational connection between the second support arm and the second rotating member is the sixth axis, and the fifth axis and the sixth axis are spaced apart. In this way, when the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are relatively closed, the second support arm rotates around the base, and the second rotating member moves toward the first support plate, so that the first support plate rotates around the base under the push of the second rotating member, and the first support plate and the second support arm rotate toward each other. In addition, when the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are relatively unfolded, the second support arm rotates around the base, and the second rotating member moves toward the second support arm, so that the first support plate rotates around the base under the pull of the second rotating member, and the first support plate rotates away from the second support arm, thereby realizing the synchronous reverse movement of the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly, thereby realizing the synchronous reverse movement of the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly.
[0043] Furthermore, the first support plate may have a third cam surface, and the second rotating member may have a fourth cam surface, in the axial direction along the first rotating axis.
[0044] The first elastic member mentioned above in this application can also act on the second rotating member, so that under the elastic force of the first elastic member, the third cam surface and the fourth cam surface are tightly matched to increase the damping force during the relative rotation of the first support plate and the second rotating member.
[0045] In order to improve the consistency of the movements of the first support arm and the second support arm, the first support arm and the second support arm may be rotatably connected to the base via a second rotating shaft.
[0046] As can be seen from the above description, damping force can be generated by the cooperation of the cam surfaces.
[0047] Additionally, the second rotating member may include a second elastic member, which is sleeved onto the second rotating shaft. Axially along the second rotating shaft, the first support arm may have a fifth cam surface, which faces the second support arm. The first cam member may also have a sixth cam surface, which faces away from the second support arm. Under the elastic force of the second elastic member, the fifth and sixth cam surfaces may abut against each other. This generates a damping force between the first support arm and the base during rotation relative to the base.
[0048] In one possible implementation of the present application, the base may further include a second cam member, which is rotatably connected to the first cam member via a third rotating shaft, and is rotatably connected to the second support arm via the second rotating shaft. Furthermore, the second support arm may have a seventh cam surface axially along the second rotating shaft, the seventh cam surface facing the first support arm. The second cam member may have an eighth cam surface facing away from the first support arm. Under the action of the second elastic member, the seventh and eighth cam surfaces may abut against each other. This generates a damping force between the second support arm and the second support arm during rotation relative to the base.
[0049] In a possible implementation of the present application, the base may further include a first damping bracket and a second damping bracket. The first cam member abuts against the first damping bracket, and the second cam member abuts against the second damping bracket, thereby limiting the first cam member and the second cam member in the axial direction.
[0050] To achieve abutment between the first cam member and the first damping bracket, and between the second cam member and the second damping bracket, the base may further include a third elastic member that can be sleeved on the third rotating shaft. Thus, under the elastic force of the third elastic member, the first cam member can abut against the first damping bracket, and the second cam member can abut against the second damping bracket.
[0051] In the present application, the first end of the second rotating shaft can be engaged with the first damping bracket for limiting position, and the second end of the second rotating shaft can be engaged with the second damping bracket for limiting position, thereby limiting the second rotating shaft in the axial direction. Similarly, the first end of the third rotating shaft can be engaged with the first damping bracket for limiting position, and the second end of the third rotating shaft can be engaged with the second damping bracket for limiting position, thereby limiting the third rotating shaft in the axial direction.
[0052] In addition, the first end of the second rotating shaft and the first end of the third rotating shaft can both be engaged with a first limiting piece, and the first limiting piece abuts against the first damping bracket, thereby achieving the connection between the first end of the second rotating shaft and the first end of the third rotating shaft and the first damping bracket.
[0053] In one possible implementation of the present application, the second damping bracket may further include a ninth cam surface, and the second support arm may further include a tenth cam surface, in the axial direction along the second rotation axis. Under the action of the second elastic member, the ninth and tenth cam surfaces may abut against each other. In this way, a damping force may be generated between the second support arm and the base during rotation thereof.
[0054] In one possible implementation of the present application, the base may include a bearing surface that can be used to support the flexible display. The first support plate may include a first surface that is used to support the flexible display. Furthermore, the second rotating assembly includes a second support plate, a housing mounting bracket, and a swing arm. The second support plate is rotatably connected to the housing mounting bracket and includes a second surface that is used to support the flexible display.
[0055] The swing arm is rotatably connected to the base, with the rotation axis of the first support arm and the swing arm being parallel and non-coincidental.
[0056] Furthermore, because the relative distance between the first rotating assembly and the base does not increase during its rotation about the base, the structural design of the first rotating assembly side of the hinge mechanism can be simplified, occupying less space, thereby helping to reduce the volume of the entire hinge mechanism. This facilitates the miniaturization and thinning of electronic devices.
[0057] In one possible implementation of the present application, the first support arm is slidably connected to the housing mount, and the swing arm is slidably connected to the housing mount. This reduces the rotation angles of the first support arm and the swing arm relative to the base, thereby preventing other components of the rotating shaft mechanism from compromising the swing arm's rotation.
[0058] With this design, when the hinge mechanism is in the closed state, the angle between the first plate surface and the support surface is greater than the angle between the second plate surface and the support surface, thereby forming a screen-holding space between the first plate surface, the second plate surface, and the support surface for accommodating the bendable portion of the flexible display. Here, the closed state of the hinge mechanism does not necessarily mean that the two rotating components of the hinge mechanism are completely and seamlessly fitted together; it refers to the state of the hinge mechanism when the electronic device is in the closed state.
[0059] Since in the hinge mechanism provided in the present application, the first rotating assembly and the second rotating assembly are arranged asymmetrically relative to each other or relative to the base, the hinge mechanism can be used to form a triangular screen-holding space inclined toward the first support plate between the first support plate, the second support plate and the base.
[0060] There are many ways to implement the rotational connection between the second support plate and the housing mounting bracket. In one possible implementation of the present application, a rotation groove can be provided on the housing mounting bracket, and a rotation portion can be provided on the first support plate. In this way, the rotation portion can be mounted in the rotation groove and rotate along the groove surface of the rotation groove.
[0061] Furthermore, when the second rotating assembly includes a second support arm, the housing mounting bracket may also be provided with a second slide groove extending along the first direction, so that the second support arm can slide within the second slide groove. Thus, by appropriately designing the orientation of the second slide groove, the rotation angle of the second support arm relative to the base can be adjusted. For example, the rotation angle of the second support arm can be set to no greater than 90°.
[0062] In another possible implementation of the present application, the swing arm is rotatably connected to the housing mounting bracket. With this solution, a link-slider mechanism is formed between the first support arm and the swing arm. When the electronic device moves from a closed state to an expanded state, the first support arm can rotate 90°, but the swing arm must rotate more than 90°. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0129] In order to make the purpose, technical solutions and advantages of this application clearer, this application will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0130] To facilitate understanding of the hinge mechanism provided in the embodiments of the present application, its application scenarios are first described below. The hinge mechanism can be applied to, but is not limited to, foldable electronic devices such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), laptop computers, or tablet computers. When applying the hinge mechanism provided in the embodiments of the present application to an electronic device, reference can be made to FIG1 , which is a schematic structural diagram of the electronic device provided in one embodiment of the present application. In addition to the hinge mechanism 1, the electronic device can also include two housings and a flexible display screen (not shown in FIG1 ). For ease of description, the two housings can be designated as a first housing 2 and a second housing 3 , respectively. The first housing 2 and the second housing 3 are located on either side of the hinge mechanism 1 and can rotate about the hinge mechanism 1. When in use, the electronic device can be closed and unfolded according to different usage scenarios. The electronic device provided in the present application can be an inward-folding electronic device. In the embodiment shown in FIG1 , the electronic device is in a closed state, and FIG1 illustrates the relative positional relationship between the hinge mechanism 1 and the two housings when the electronic device is in the closed state. In this case, the surface of the hinge mechanism 1, the first exterior surface 201 of the first housing 2, and the second exterior surface 301 of the second housing 3 can collectively serve as the exterior surfaces of the electronic device. The first appearance surface 201 is the surface of the first shell 2 facing away from the flexible display screen, and the second appearance surface 301 is the surface of the second shell 3 facing away from the flexible display screen 4 .
[0131] In addition, reference may be made to Figure 2, which illustrates a schematic structural diagram of the electronic device in an unfolded state. The first housing 2 further includes a first support surface 202, which is the surface of the first housing 2 for supporting the flexible display 4. The second housing 3 further includes a second support surface 302, which is the surface of the second housing 3 for supporting the flexible display 4.
[0132] The flexible display 4 can continuously cover the first support surface 202 of the first housing 2, the second support surface 302 of the second housing 3, and the hinge mechanism 1. The hinge mechanism 1 is positioned corresponding to the bendable portion of the flexible display 4. Furthermore, the flexible display 4 can be fixedly connected to the first support surface 202 of the first housing 2 and the second support surface 302 of the second housing 3, using, but not limited to, adhesive bonding. Thus, when the electronic device is in the unfolded state shown in Figure 2, the first and second housings 2 and 3 can support the flexible display 4.
[0133] During the relative rotation of the first shell 2 and the second shell 3 from the unfolded state shown in Figure 2 to the closed state shown in Figure 1, or from the closed state shown in Figure 1 to the unfolded state shown in Figure 2, the flexible display screen 4 can be bent or flattened along with the first shell 2 and the second shell 3.
[0134] It can be understood that the process of the electronic device moving from the expanded state shown in FIG2 to the closed state shown in FIG1 , or from the closed state shown in FIG1 to the expanded state shown in FIG2 , is the process of the first shell 2 and the second shell 3 rotating about the hinge mechanism 1. The hinge mechanism 1 is a key functional component in a foldable electronic device and can be arranged corresponding to the foldable portion of the flexible display 4. Therefore, it plays an important role in supporting the foldable portion of the flexible display 4 in the expanded state shown in FIG2 and accommodating the foldable portion of the flexible display 4 in the closed state shown in FIG1 .
[0135] For example, when the electronic device is in the closed state shown in Figure 1, if the space formed between the first housing 2, the hinge mechanism 1, and the second housing 3 cannot meet the bending requirements of the flexible display 4, the flexible display 4 may be squeezed or pulled. In this way, after the electronic device is folded multiple times, the flexible display 4 is easily damaged.
[0136] The existing hinge mechanism may include a base and two rotating assemblies, symmetrically arranged relative to the base. Each rotating assembly may include a support arm, a swing arm, and a housing mount. The support arm and the swing arm are both rotatably connected to the base, the support arm is slidably connected to the housing mount, the swing arm is rotatably connected to the housing mount, and the housing mount is fixedly connected to the housing of the electronic device. For each rotating assembly, as the support arm and the swing arm rotate about the base, their rotation axes do not coincide, resulting in a phase difference between the two during their rotation about the base. This causes the housing mount to extend relative to the base, driven by the swing arm, as the electronic device moves from the closed state (Figure 1) to the expanded state (Figure 2), thereby increasing the length of the hinge mechanism. Conversely, as the hinge mechanism moves from the expanded state (Figure 2) to the closed state (Figure 1), the housing mount decreases relative to the base, driven by the swing arm, thereby reducing the length of the hinge mechanism. During the rotation of the hinge mechanism, the telescopic movement of the housing fixing frame relative to the base can adapt to the length of the portion of the flexible display corresponding to the hinge mechanism, thereby avoiding pulling or squeezing of the flexible display.
[0137] Because current hinge mechanisms employ a symmetrical design, when an electronic device employing such a hinge mechanism is in the closed state, the screen-accommodating space 107 formed by the hinge mechanism for accommodating the flexible display 4 is a symmetrical space, as shown in FIG3 . The portion of the flexible display 4 accommodated within this screen-accommodating space 107 is bent to form a symmetrical teardrop shape. This results in a larger width in the region where the flexible display 4 bends from the expanded to the closed state. Furthermore, the symmetrical design of the hinge mechanism also increases its width and complexity, resulting in it occupying a larger space within the electronic device. This is detrimental to both improving the performance of the electronic device and simplifying its structure.
[0138] The hinge mechanism provided in this application is intended to solve the above-mentioned problems, thereby reducing the width of the hinge mechanism, simplifying the structure of the hinge mechanism, and reducing the weight, thereby reducing the space occupied by the hinge mechanism in the electronic device, reserving more space for the arrangement of other components, thereby improving the performance of the electronic device and facilitating the miniaturization of the electronic device. In addition, while the structure of the hinge mechanism is simplified, by designing the two shells of the electronic device to have unequal thicknesses, the structure of the electronic device can be further simplified, and the thickness of the electronic device when in the closed state can be reduced. In addition, the hinge mechanism can form an asymmetric screen-accommodating space to meet the bending requirements of the flexible display, which is conducive to reducing the width of the bending area of the flexible display, thereby preventing deformation of the flexible display and reducing the extrusion or tensile stress on the flexible display, thereby extending the service life of the flexible display, improving the reliability of the electronic device, and enhancing the user experience. To facilitate understanding of the hinge mechanism provided in the embodiments of this application, its specific structure is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0139] It is worth mentioning that the terms used in the following embodiments are only for the purpose of describing specific embodiments and are not intended to limit the present application. As used in the specification and appended claims of this application, the singular expressions "a", "an", "said", "above", "the", and "this" are intended to also include expressions such as "one or more", unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
[0140] References to "one embodiment" or "some embodiments" in this specification mean that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in conjunction with that embodiment is included in one or more embodiments of the present application. Thus, phrases such as "in one embodiment," "in some embodiments," "in other embodiments," and "in yet other embodiments" appearing in various places in this specification do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment, but rather mean "one or more but not all embodiments," unless otherwise specifically emphasized. The terms "including," "comprising," "having," and variations thereof mean "including but not limited to," unless otherwise specifically emphasized.
[0141] Referring to Figure 4 , Figure 4 is an exploded schematic diagram of the electronic device shown in Figure 2 . The flexible display screen 4 (see Figure 2 ) is omitted in Figure 4 . Furthermore, Figure 4 shows that the first housing 2 and the second housing 3 are located on opposite sides of the hinge mechanism 1 . In the present application, the hinge mechanism 1 may include a spindle module 101 , which may be one or more spindle modules 101 . For example, referring to Figure 5 , Figure 5 is an exploded schematic diagram of the hinge mechanism 1 shown in Figure 4 . In the embodiment shown in Figure 5 , the hinge mechanism 1 includes three spindle modules 101 , which may be spaced apart along the length of the hinge mechanism 1 . In the present application, the length of the hinge mechanism 1 is the direction extending along the axis about which the first housing 2 and the second housing 3 rotate about the hinge mechanism 1 . The first housing 2 and the second housing 3 may be rotatably connected via these multiple spindle modules 101 , effectively improving the stability of the rotation of the first housing 2 and the second housing 3 of the electronic device relative to the hinge mechanism 1 .
[0142] 5 , the rotating shaft mechanism 1 may further include a base 102. The spindle module 101 may include a first rotating assembly 1011 and a second rotating assembly 1012. The base 102 may serve as a supporting member for the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012. The first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 are disposed on opposite sides of the base 102 and are rotatably connected to the base 102.
[0143] It is worth mentioning that in one possible embodiment of the present application, when there are multiple spindle modules 101, the first rotating components 1011 and the second rotating components 1012 of the multiple spindle modules 101 can all use the same base 102 as a bearing component to improve the integration of the rotating shaft mechanism 1. In other possible embodiments of the present application, the rotating shaft mechanism 1 can be provided with a base 102 corresponding to each spindle module 101, so that the first rotating component 1011 and the second rotating component 1012 of each spindle module 101 use the corresponding base 102 as a bearing component.
[0144] The rotating shaft mechanism 1 shown in Figures 4 and 5 can achieve the eccentric water droplet shape shown in Figure 8 in the closed state. In addition, the rotating shaft mechanism 1 further includes a synchronization mechanism for achieving synchronous movement of the first rotating component 1011 and the second rotating component 1012, and a damping mechanism for providing a damping feel.
[0145] Such a mechanism design can greatly simplify the structural design of one side of the first rotating assembly 1011, thereby allowing the first shell 2 to be thinned, so that the first shell 2 and the second shell 3 can achieve unequal thickness. Furthermore, in order to achieve the thinning of the first shell 2, part of the structure of the first shell 2 can extend into the base 102 rather than outside the base 102. Based on this, the space in the base 102 for accommodating the synchronization mechanism and the damping mechanism needs to be greatly compressed, and the synchronization mechanism and damping mechanism involved in this application adopt a streamlined design and can be accommodated in such a small space, thereby providing accommodation space for the first shell 2. Of course, it can be understood that the hinge mechanism 1 of the present application is not only applicable to the above-mentioned scenarios, but can also be used in any electronic device that can realize the folding and synchronous movement of the shells on both sides, and provide damping force for the shells on both sides.
[0146] The rotating shaft mechanism 1 will be described in detail below.
[0147] Referring to Figure 6 , which is a partial structural diagram of a rotating shaft mechanism 1 according to an embodiment of the present application, Figure 6 illustrates the structure of a spindle module 101. Specifically, a first rotating assembly 1011 may include a first support plate 10111, which is rotatably connected to the base 102. Furthermore, the first support plate 10111 has a notch 101111.
[0148] The first rotating assembly 1011 may further include a first rotating member 10112, at least partially received within the notch 101111 of the first support plate 10111. Referring to Figure 7a, which is an exploded view of the structure shown in Figure 6, the first support plate 10111 and the first rotating member 10112 are rotatably connected via a first rotating shaft 10113.
[0149] In the present application, the rotational centerline of the rotational connection between the first support plate 10111 and the base 102 may be referred to as the first axis 501 ( FIG. 7 b takes the example of the first support plate 10111 and the base 102 being connected via a virtual axis), and the rotational centerline of the rotational connection between the first support plate 10111 and the first rotating member 10112 may be referred to as the second axis 502. This second axis 502 is also the axis of the first rotating shaft 10113. Referring to FIG. 7 b , FIG. 7 b is an exploded view of the structure shown in FIG. 6 at another angle. As can be seen from FIG. 7 b , the first axis 501 and the second axis 502 are spaced apart.
[0150] Continuing with FIG. 7 a , the second rotating assembly 1012 may include a first support arm 10121 rotatable about the base 102 as shown in FIG. 5 , and the first support arm 10121 is rotatably connected to the first rotating member 10112. The specific connection method between the two is not limited in this application. For example, the first support arm 10121 and the first rotating member 10112 may be rotatably connected via a first pin 10122. Rotatingly connecting two components via a pin is a common connection method in the art and will not be described in detail here. In this application, the rotational centerline of the first support arm 10121 about the base 102 may be referred to as the third axis 503; and the rotational centerline of the rotational connection between the first support arm 10121 and the first rotating member 10112 may be referred to as the fourth axis 504, which is also the axis of the first pin 10122. As can be seen in FIG. 7 b , the third axis 503 and the fourth axis 504 are spaced apart.
[0151] Using the hinge mechanism 1 provided in the present application, when the first support arm 10121 rotates around the base 102, it can drive the first rotating member 10112 to move. For example, during the relative closing process between the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012, the first support arm 10121 rotates around the base 102, causing the first rotating member 10112 to move toward the first support plate 10111. The first support plate 10111, driven by the first rotating member 10112, rotates around the base, and the first support plate 10111 and the first support arm 10121 rotate toward each other. During the relative deployment of the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012, the first support arm 10121 rotates about the base 102, causing the first rotating member 10112 to move toward the first support arm 10121. The first support plate 10111, pulled by the first rotating member 10112, rotates about the base 102, and the first support plate 10111 rotates away from the first support arm 10121. Thus, during the closing and deployment of the hinge mechanism 1, the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 can rotate synchronously in opposite directions, providing a synchronization mechanism for achieving synchronous motion.
[0152] 7a , the first support plate 10111 may further be provided with a first cam surface 101112 along the axial direction of the first rotating shaft 10113. The first cam surface 101112 may be a wall surface of the notch 101111. The first rotating member 10112 has a second cam surface 101121 that abuts against the first cam surface 101112.
[0153] It is worth mentioning that in the present application, the cam surface may include multiple protrusions and recesses. When the inclined surfaces of the protrusions of two cam surfaces come into contact with each other, a damping force may be generated between the two cam surfaces to prevent the two cam surfaces from continuing to rotate relative to each other.
[0154] The first rotating member 10112 is in contact with the first support plate 10111 through the first cam surface 101112 and the second cam surface 101121. When the hinge mechanism 1 is applied to an electronic device, the user can have a more obvious feeling when opening or closing the electronic device, thereby improving the user experience.
[0155] In order to improve the tightness of the fit between the first cam surface 101112 and the second cam surface 101121, the first rotating assembly 1011 may further include a first elastic member 10114, which may be a spring. In addition, the first elastic member 10114 may be sleeved on the first rotating shaft 10113 and press the first rotating member 10112 toward the first supporting plate 10111, so that the elastic force of the first elastic member 10114 causes the first cam surface 101112 to abut against the second cam surface 101121.
[0156] Continuing with FIG. 7 a , in the present application, to improve the stability of the movement of the rotating shaft mechanism 1, the first rotating assembly 1011 may further include a second rotating member 10115. At least a portion of the second rotating member 10115 may be accommodated within the notch 101111 of the first support plate 10111, and the second rotating member 10115 is rotationally connected to the first support plate 10111 via the first rotating shaft 10113. In other words, the first support plate 10111, the first rotating member 10112, and the second rotating member 10115 are rotationally connected via the first rotating shaft 10113. Furthermore, the second rotating member 10115 and the first rotating member 10112 may be fixed by a pin to maintain synchronization and stability. Furthermore, the second rotating member 10115 and the first rotating member 10112 may be integrally formed.
[0157] In addition, along the axial direction of the first rotating shaft 10113, the first support plate 10111 may also have a third cam surface 101113, and the third cam surface 101113 may be another wall surface of the notch 101111. For example, the first cam surface 101112 and the third cam surface 101113 may be two oppositely arranged wall surfaces of the notch 101111.
[0158] Referring to Figure 7c, Figure 7c is a schematic diagram of the structure shown in Figure 6 from another angle, which can be used to illustrate the cooperative relationship between the various cam surfaces. As can be seen in Figure 7c, the second rotating member 10115 has a fourth cam surface 101151, and the third cam surface 101113 and the fourth cam surface 101151 abut against each other. The first elastic member 10114 can also act on the second rotating member 10115 to press the second rotating member 10115 toward the first support plate 10111, thereby ensuring a tight fit between the third cam surface 101113 and the fourth cam surface 101151.
[0159] 7a and 7c , the second rotating assembly 1012 may further include a second support arm 10123, which may be rotatably connected to the base 102. The rotation centerline of the second support arm 10123 about the base 102 may be referred to as the fifth axis 505. In the present application, the first support arm 10121 and the second support arm 10123 may be rotatably connected via a second rotation shaft 10124, and the first support arm 10121 and the second support arm 10123 may be rotatably connected to the base 102 via the second rotation shaft 10124. Therefore, the third axis 503 and the fifth axis 505 may coincide.
[0160] In addition, the second support arm 10123 can be rotatably connected to the second rotating member 10115. The specific connection method between the two is not limited in this application. For example, the second support arm 10123 and the second rotating member 10115 can be rotatably connected via a second pin 10125. Rotatingly connecting two components via a pin is a common connection method in the art and will not be described in detail here. In this application, the rotation centerline of the rotational connection between the second support arm 10123 and the second rotating member 10115 can be referred to as the sixth axis 506. As can be seen in Figure 7b, the fifth axis 505 and the sixth axis 506 can be spaced apart.
[0161] Thus, during the relative closing of the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012, the second support arm 10123 rotates around the base 102, causing the second rotating member 10115 to move toward the first support plate 10111. The first support plate 10111 rotates around the base under the push of the second rotating member 10115, and the first support plate 10111 and the second support arm 10123 rotate toward each other. During the relative expansion of the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012, the second support arm 10123 rotates around the base 102, causing the second rotating member 10115 to move toward the second support arm 10123. The first support plate 10111 rotates around the base 102 under the pull of the second rotating member 10115, and the first support plate 10111 and the first support arm 10121 rotate away from each other. Thus, during the closing and unfolding of the hinge mechanism 1, the first support arm 10121 and the second support arm 10123 can respectively drive the first rotating member 10112 and the second rotating member 10115 to rotate, thereby achieving synchronous counter-rotation of the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012. In addition, the first support plate 10111 rotates under the action of the damping force generated by the relative rotation of the two pairs of abutting cam surfaces, which can effectively improve the rotational stability of the first support plate 10111.
[0162] Continuing with Figures 7b and 7c, the rotating shaft mechanism 1 may further include a first cam member 103, which is rotatably connected to the first support arm 10121 via a second rotating shaft 10124. Furthermore, along the axial direction of the second rotating shaft 10124, the first support arm 10121 may have a fifth cam surface 101212, which may be disposed toward the second support arm 10123. The first cam member 103 may also have a sixth cam surface 1031, with the fifth cam surface 101212 and the sixth cam surface 1031 abutting against each other. Therefore, it can be understood that the sixth cam surface 1031 is located on the side of the first cam member 103 facing away from the second support arm 10123.
[0163] To enhance the tightness of the fit between the fifth cam surface 101212 and the sixth cam surface 1031, the second rotating assembly 1012 may further include a second elastic member 10126, which may be a spring. Furthermore, the second elastic member 10126 may be sleeved on the second rotating shaft 10124 and press the first cam member 103 toward the first support arm 10121, thereby causing the fifth cam surface 101212 to abut against the sixth cam surface 1031 under the elastic force of the second elastic member 10126.
[0164] In addition, the rotating shaft mechanism 1 may further include a second cam member 104, which is rotatably connected to the second support arm 10123 via the second rotating shaft 10124. The second support arm 10123 may have a seventh cam surface 101231, which may be disposed toward the first support arm 10121. The second cam member 104 has an eighth cam surface 1041, which is disposed away from the first support arm 10121, and the seventh cam surface 101231 abuts against the eighth cam surface 1041. The second elastic member 10126 may also act on the second cam member 104 to press the second cam member 104 toward the second support arm 10123, thereby ensuring a tight fit between the seventh cam surface 101231 and the eighth cam surface 1041.
[0165] Continuing with Figure 7a, the first cam member 103 and the second cam member 104 can be connected via the third rotating shaft 1023. Furthermore, both the first cam member 103 and the second cam member 104 are connected to the second rotating shaft 10124. Therefore, the rotational freedom of the first cam member 103 and the second cam member 104 about the base 102 is restricted by the second rotating shaft 10124 and the third rotating shaft 1023, and the first cam member 103 and the second cam member 104 cannot rotate relative to the base 102. Therefore, it can be understood that during the rotation of the first support arm 10121 about the base 102, the fifth cam surface 101212 can rotate relative to the sixth cam surface 1031 to generate a damping force. Furthermore, during the rotation of the second support arm 10123 about the base 102, the seventh cam surface 101231 can rotate relative to the eighth cam surface 1041 to generate a damping force.
[0166] In addition, the base 102 may include a first damping bracket 1021 and a second damping bracket 1022. The first cam member 103 abuts the first damping bracket 1021, and the second cam member 104 abuts the second damping bracket 1022. To ensure the abutment between the first cam member 103 and the first damping bracket 1021, and the abutment between the second cam member 104 and the second damping bracket 1022, the base 102 may further include a third elastic member 1027, which may be sleeved on the third rotating shaft 1023. Consequently, under the elastic force of the third elastic member 1027, the first cam member 103 abuts the first damping bracket 1021, and the second cam member 104 abuts the second damping bracket 1022. In addition, the first end 10124a of the second rotating shaft 10124 and the first end 1023a of the third rotating shaft 1023 can be clamped with the first damping bracket 1021, and the second end 10124b of the second rotating shaft 10124 and the second end 1023b of the third rotating shaft 1023 can be clamped with the second damping bracket 1022 to limit the axial direction of the second rotating shaft 10124 and the third rotating shaft 1023.
[0167] In the present application, the rotating shaft mechanism 1 may further include a first limiting piece 105, with the first end 10124a of the second rotating shaft 10124 and the first end 1023a of the third rotating shaft 1023 being respectively engaged with the first limiting piece 105, thereby preventing the first cam member 103, the first support arm 10121 and other components disposed on the second rotating shaft 10124 and the third rotating shaft 1023 from falling off from the corresponding rotating shafts, thereby improving the reliability of the structure of the rotating shaft mechanism 1. Similarly, the rotating shaft mechanism 1 may further include a second limiting piece 106, with the second end 10124b of the second rotating shaft 10124 and the second end 1023b of the third rotating shaft 1023 being respectively engaged with the second limiting piece 106, thereby preventing the second cam member 104, the second support arm 10123 and other components disposed on the second rotating shaft 10124 and the third rotating shaft 1023 from falling off from the corresponding rotating shafts, thereby improving the reliability of the structure of the rotating shaft mechanism 1.
[0168] Furthermore, along the axial direction of the second rotating shaft 10124, the second damping bracket 1022 has a ninth cam surface 10221, which faces the second support arm 10123. The second support arm 10123 also has a tenth cam surface 101232, which faces away from the first support arm 10121. Specifically, the tenth cam surface 101232 and the seventh cam surface 101231 may be two oppositely disposed surfaces of the second support arm 10123. The ninth cam surface 10221 abuts against the tenth cam surface 101232. Furthermore, when the second rotating shaft 10124 is further provided with a second elastic member 10126, the elastic force of the second elastic member 10126 allows the ninth cam surface 10221 and the tenth cam surface 101232 to fit more tightly together.
[0169] As can be seen from the above, by providing five pairs of abutting cam surfaces between the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012, the stability of the synchronous rotation of the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 can be effectively increased, and a large damping force can also be generated between the two rotating assemblies. In this way, when the hinge mechanism 1 is applied to an electronic device, the user can feel it more clearly when opening or closing the electronic device, thereby improving the user experience. In other words, a damping mechanism that provides a damping feel is provided.
[0170] It is understood that, based on the above description of the configuration of the abutting cam surfaces provided between the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012, other abutting surfaces between the two can also be configured as cam surfaces according to specific application scenarios to increase the damping force generated between the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012. All of these should be understood to fall within the scope of protection of this application and will not be described in detail here.
[0171] Continuing with Figures 6 and 7a, in the present application, the first support plate 10111 may include a first plate surface 101114 and a second plate surface 101115 disposed opposite each other. Furthermore, referring to Figure 5, the second rotating assembly 1012 may further include a second support plate 10127, which may include a third plate surface 101271 and a fourth plate surface 101272 disposed opposite each other. The first plate surface 101114 and the third plate surface 101271 may be used to support the flexible display screen 4.
[0172] Referring to Figure 8, Figure 8 is a block diagram of the hinge mechanism 1 shown in Figure 5 in a closed state. As can be seen from Figure 8, using the hinge mechanism 1 provided herein, the base 102 can include a support surface 1024 for supporting the flexible display 4. Furthermore, the angle between the first surface 101114 of the first support plate 10111 and the support surface 1024 can be greater than the angle between the third surface 101271 of the second support plate 10127 and the support surface 1024. This allows a triangular screen-accommodating space 107 to be formed between the first surface 101114, the second surface 101115, and the support surface 1024, tilted toward the second support plate 10127. The bendable portion of the electronic device's flexible display 4 can be accommodated within this screen-accommodating space 107, forming an eccentric, teardrop-like shape. This reduces the width of the flexible display 4's bending region.
[0173] In order to enable the hinge mechanism 1 to form the above-mentioned screen space 107, the structure of the second rotating component 1012 can be designed accordingly. In the specific implementation, reference may be made to Figure 9, which is a schematic diagram of the partial structure of the hinge mechanism 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application. The second rotating component 1012 may also include a shell fixing frame 10128, which is located on the same side of the base 102 as the first support arm 10121, and the shell fixing frame 10128 is connected to the first support arm 10121. In addition, when the hinge mechanism 1 provided in the present application is applied to an electronic device, the shell fixing frame 10128 may be fixedly connected to a shell of the electronic device.
[0174] When specifically setting up the shell fixing frame 10128, reference may be made to FIG10 , which is a schematic structural diagram of the shell fixing frame 10128 provided in a possible embodiment of the present application. In this embodiment, the shell fixing frame 10128 may be provided with a first slide groove 101281, which extends along a first direction. Referring to FIG9 and FIG10 , the first support arm 10121 may be mounted in the first slide groove 101281 and may slide within the first slide groove 101281 along a first direction. The first direction may be the direction in which the shell fixing frame 10128 moves toward or away from the base 102. Furthermore, to prevent the first support arm 10121 from falling out of the first slide groove 101281, a first slideway 1012811 may be provided on the groove wall of the first slide groove 101281, and a first slider 101211 may be provided on the first support arm 10121. In this way, the first slider 101211 can be clamped in the first slide 1012811 and can slide along the first slide 1012811 to limit the position of the first support arm 10121 in the first slide groove 101281. In addition, by providing the first slide 1012811 on the groove wall of the first slide groove 101281, it can also provide a guide for the first support arm 10121 to slide along the first slide groove 101281, thereby improving the stability of the movement of the first support arm 10121.
[0175] In addition, when the second rotating assembly 1012 also includes a second support arm 10123, the housing fixing frame 10128 may also be provided with a second slide groove 101282. Referring to FIG10 , the second slide groove 101282 may extend along the first direction, with the first slide groove 101281 and the second slide groove 101282 spaced apart. To prevent the second support arm 10123 from falling out of the second slide groove 101282, a second slideway 1012821 may be provided on the groove wall of the second slide groove 101282, and a second slider may be provided on the second support arm 10123. In this way, the second slider can be engaged with the second slideway 1012821 and can slide along the second slideway 1012821, thereby limiting the position of the second support arm 10123 within the second slide groove 101282. In addition, by arranging a second slideway 1012821 on the groove wall of the second slide groove 101282, it can also provide guidance for the sliding of the second support arm 10123 along the second slide groove 101282, thereby improving the stability of the movement of the second support arm 10123.
[0176] In the present application, the second rotating assembly 1012 may further include a swing arm (not shown in FIG. 9 ). The swing arm and the first support arm 10121 are located on the same side of the base 102 , and the swing arm is slidably connected to the housing mount 10128 . Continuing with FIG. 10 , the housing mount 10128 may further include a third slide groove 101283 , which may extend along the second direction, with the first slide groove 101281 and the third slide groove 101283 spaced apart along the length of the housing mount 10128 . Referring to FIG. 11 , FIG. 11 illustrates the connection between the swing arm 10129 and the housing mount 10128 . The end of the swing arm 10129 facing the housing mount 10128 may be mounted in the third slide groove 101283 , and the swing arm 10129 may slide in the second direction within the third slide groove 101283 . In the present application, the housing fixture 10128 may include a first surface 101284 and a second surface 101285 disposed opposite to each other. The first surface 101284 may be the surface of the housing fixture 10128 that faces the flexible display screen 4 when the hinge mechanism 1 is applied to the electronic device. The second direction may be from the first surface 101284 toward the second surface 101285, or from the second surface 101285 toward the first surface 101284. Furthermore, the projection of the second direction on a first cross-section may be non-parallel to the projection of the first direction on the first cross-section. The first cross-section may be a reference plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the first support arm 10121 and the rotation axis of the swing arm 10129.
[0177] Continuing with FIG. 10 , in the present application, a third slideway 1012831 may also be provided within the third chute 101283. Furthermore, referring to FIG. 12 , FIG. 12 is a schematic structural diagram of a swing arm 10129 provided in the present application. The swing arm 10129 is provided with a third slider 101291. This allows the third slider 101291 to be engaged with the third slideway 1012831 and to slide along a second direction within the third slideway 1012831, thereby limiting the position of the swing arm 10129 within the third chute 101283 and preventing the swing arm 10129 from falling out of the third chute 101283. Furthermore, by providing the third slideway 1012831 on the wall of the third chute 101283, the third slideway 1012831 can provide guidance for the swing arm 10129 as it slides along the third chute 101283, thereby improving the stability of the swing arm 10129's movement.
[0178] In the present application, the swing arm 10129 can be rotatably connected to the base 102. In one possible embodiment of the present application, the swing arm 10129 and the base 102 can be rotatably connected via a virtual axis. The virtual axis refers to the axis of an arc-shaped structure, and the two rotatably connected components can rotate relative to the virtual axis. The position of the virtual axis remains fixed as the two rotatably connected components rotate relative to each other.
[0179] The virtual axis through which the swing arm 10129 is rotatably connected to the base 102 can help reduce the space occupied by the swing arm 10129 on the base 102, thereby reducing the volume of the spindle module 101 and facilitating a miniaturized design of the rotating shaft mechanism 1. In a specific implementation, referring again to FIG. 12 , a second arcuate rotating block 101292 can be provided at one end of the swing arm 10129 for connection to the base 102.
[0180] In addition, reference may be made to FIG13 , which is a schematic diagram of a partial structure of the base 102. The base 102 may be provided with a second arcuate groove 1025. The second arcuate rotating block 101292 of the swing arm 10129 shown in FIG12 may be accommodated in the second arcuate groove 1025 and may slide along the arcuate surface of the second arcuate groove 1025, thereby enabling the swing arm 10129 to rotate about the base 102. By rotatably connecting the swing arm 10129 and the base 102 via a virtual axis, it is possible to reduce the space occupied by the swing arm 10129 on the base 102, thereby reducing the volume of the spindle module 101 and facilitating a miniaturized design of the rotating shaft mechanism 1. It is worth mentioning that, in the present application, the second arcuate rotating block 101292 may be, but is not limited to, a circular arcuate rotating block, and the second arcuate groove 1025 may be, but is not limited to, a circular arcuate groove.
[0181] In the embodiment shown in FIG13 , the second arcuate groove 1025 is an integrated channel structure directly formed on the base 102. This allows for an integrated design of the base 102 and improves the structural reliability of the hinge mechanism 1. Furthermore, the number of second arcuate grooves 1025 can be, but is not limited to, at least two. These at least two second arcuate grooves 1025 can be spaced apart along the length of the base 102. These at least two second arcuate grooves 1025 can limit the position of the second arcuate rotating block 101292, thereby improving the reliability of the connection between the second arcuate rotating block 101292 and the base 102.
[0182] In some other possible embodiments, the second arcuate groove 1025 can also be formed by two structures abutting each other. For example, the spindle module 101 can include a cover plate, which can be covered on the base 102 to form a accommodating space between the cover plate and the base 102. In addition, the portion of the cover plate covering the second arcuate groove 1025 can be provided with an arcuate protrusion, and the second arcuate rotating block 101292 of the swing arm 10129 shown in Figure 12 above can be inserted between the arcuate protrusion and the second arcuate groove 1025. Thereby, the arcuate protrusion limits the second arcuate rotating block 101292 of the swing arm 10129 to the second arcuate groove 1025 of the base 102, thereby reducing the risk of the swing arm 10129 falling off from the base 102, thereby improving the reliability of the movement of the swing arm 10129.
[0183] In addition to being rotatably connected to the base 102 via a virtual axis, in other embodiments of the present application, the swing arm 10129 can also be rotatably connected to the base 102 via a physical axis. For example, the swing arm 10129 can be rotatably connected to the base 102 via a pin. Thus, when the hinge mechanism 1 includes multiple spindle modules 101, the swing arm 10129 of at least one of the multiple spindle modules 101 can be rotatably connected to the base 102 via a virtual axis, and the swing arm 10129 of at least one spindle module 101 can be rotatably connected to the base 102 via a solid axis. In this case, the swing arm 10129 of the spindle assembly positioned opposite the flexible display 4 of the electronic device can be rotatably connected to the base 102 via a virtual axis, while the swing arms 10129 of the spindle assemblies located at the two ends of the hinge mechanism 1 in the longitudinal direction can be rotatably connected to the base 102 via a physical axis.
[0184] After understanding the connection relationship between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 provided in the above embodiment of the present application and the base 102 and the housing fixing frame 10128, the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 relative to the housing fixing frame 10128 will be described below. First, reference may be made to FIG14 a, which illustrates the relative position of the housing fixing frame 10128 and the base 102 when the hinge mechanism 1 is in the deployed state. At this point, the edge of the housing fixing frame 10128 facing the base 102 is closest to the base 102, and the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 is closest to the first surface 101284 of the housing fixing frame 10128.
[0185] As can be seen from the description of the above embodiment, when the hinge mechanism 1 rotates from the expanded state to the closed state, the first support arm 10121 can slide in the first slide groove 101281 along the first direction, and the swing arm 10129 can slide in the third slide groove 101283 along the second direction. In Figure 14a, the solid line with an arrow represents the first direction, and the dashed line with an arrow represents the second direction. In addition, Figure 14b shows a schematic diagram of a first cross-section provided by a possible embodiment. In this first cross-section, the first direction and the second direction intersect, and the angle of intersection between the two directions can be an acute angle as shown, or other possible angles, such as a right angle or an obtuse angle.
[0186] Referring to Figure 14c, Figure 14c illustrates the relative position of the housing mount 10128 and the base 102 when the hinge mechanism 1 is in an intermediate state. Comparing Figure 14c with Figure 14a shows that during this process, the housing mount 10128 can move relative to the first support arm 10121 away from the base 102, driving the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 to rotate about the base 102. The second curved rotating block 101292 of the swing arm 10129 moves toward sliding out of the second curved slot 1025, thereby reducing the portion of the second curved rotating block 101292 accommodated within the second curved slot 1025. Simultaneously, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 slides within the third slideway 1012831 from the first surface 101284 of the housing mount 10128 toward the second surface 101285.
[0187] Furthermore, referring to Figure 14d, Figure 14d illustrates the relative position of the housing mount 10128 and the base 102 when the electronic device is in the closed state. From Figure 14c to Figure 14d, the housing mount 10128 continues to move away from the base 102 relative to the first support arm 10121, driving the first support arm 10121 to rotate about the base 102. The second curved rotating block 101292 of the swing arm 10129 continues to slide out of the second curved slot 1025, further reducing the portion of the second curved rotating block 101292 accommodated within the second curved slot 1025. Simultaneously, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 continues to slide within the third slide slot 101283 toward the second surface 101285 of the housing mount 10128.
[0188] It can be understood that when the electronic device rotates from the closed state shown in Figure 14d to the expanded state shown in Figure 14a, the shell fixing frame 10128, the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 can respectively move in the opposite direction to the above-mentioned rotation process from Figure 14a to Figure 14d, which will not be repeated here.
[0189] Referring to Figure 15 , Figure 15 is a schematic diagram illustrating the mechanism for sliding the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 relative to the housing fixing frame 10128, as provided in one embodiment of the present application. As can be seen from Figure 15 , with the pivot mechanism 1 provided in the present application, the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 do not coincide with each other when they rotate about the base 102. This allows for phase difference in the axes of rotation between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129. Furthermore, by rationally designing the orientations of the first and third chute 101281 and 101283, the angles of rotation of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 relative to the base 102 can be made less than or equal to 90°. Compared with existing solutions, this can effectively reduce the rotation angle of the swing arm 10129, thereby allowing the wall thickness design of the local structure of the swing arm 10129 (such as the structure at point A of the swing arm 10129 shown in FIG12 ) to meet strength requirements, thereby improving the structural reliability of the swing arm 10129. In addition, it can effectively avoid the need to reduce the thickness of components in the electronic device to avoid the rotation of the swing arm 10129, thereby improving the reliability of the entire structure of the electronic device.
[0190] In addition, referring to FIG14d, when the hinge mechanism 1 is in the closed state, since the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 both provide support forces for the housing fixing frame 10128 in the Z direction shown in FIG14d, the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 can effectively improve the degree of motion coupling between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 and the first housing fixing frame 10128, and act as a stop in this direction for the housing fixing frame 10128. In this way, even if the electronic device using the hinge mechanism 1 falls in the closed state, the risk of the housing fixing frame 10128 undergoing a large instantaneous displacement relative to the hinge mechanism 1 in this state can be effectively reduced, thereby ensuring the reliability of the overall structure of the electronic device.
[0191] Since the connection method between the second support arm 10123 and the shell fixing frame 10128 is the same as the connection method between the first support arm 10121 and the shell fixing frame 10128, during the movement of the rotating shaft mechanism 1, the movement of the second support arm 10123 relative to the shell fixing frame 10128 is similar to the movement of the first support arm 10121 relative to the shell fixing frame 10128, and will not be repeated here.
[0192] In the present application, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 can adopt a linear structure as shown in FIG12 , and in this case, the third slide 1012831 can also be adaptively configured as a linear slide as shown in FIG14 a . In addition, the linear slide has an opening located on the first surface 101284. When the rotating shaft mechanism 1 is in the expanded state as shown in FIG14 a , the linear slide extends from the opening toward the base 102 , thereby improving the smoothness of the sliding of the third slider 101291 along the third slide 1012831 and reducing the interference of other structures of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 on the swing arm 10129, thereby facilitating an increase in the wall thickness of the swing arm 10129 and improving the structural reliability of the swing arm 10129 . In some other possible implementations of the present application, the opening of the linear slide can be extended from the opening in a direction away from the base 102, or the opening of the linear slide can be extended from the opening in a direction perpendicular to the second surface 101285, so as to make the arrangement of the third slide 1012831 more flexible. It is worth mentioning that in the present application, the third slider 101291 can also be other shapes that are adapted to the linear slide, for example, it can be an overall linear slider with a hollowed-out or spaced middle portion, or it can be some special-shaped slider, as long as it can fit the shape of the linear slide and slide.
[0193] In addition to adopting the above-mentioned linear structure, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 can also be designed as a structure of other possible shapes. Exemplarily, the second slider of the swing arm 10129 can also be designed as an arc-shaped slider, which can be an arc-shaped slider. In addition, in order to enable the arc-shaped slider of the swing arm 10129 to slide within the third slide 1012831 of the third slide groove 101283 of the housing fixing frame 10128, the third slide 1012831 can be adapted to be designed as an arc-shaped slide, which can be an arc-shaped slide. When the rotating shaft mechanism 1 is in the expanded state, the axis of the arc-shaped slide is located on the side of the base 102 away from the arc-shaped slide. In this way, it is helpful to improve the smoothness of the sliding of the third slider 101291 along the third slide 1012831, and the rotation angle of the swing arm 10129 relative to the base 102 can be realized to be 90°, so as to effectively reduce the interference of other structures of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 on the movement of the swing arm 10129, thereby facilitating the increase of the wall thickness of the swing arm 10129.
[0194] Thus, in this embodiment, the sliding movement of the swing arm 10129 within the third slide groove 101283 is equivalent to the sliding movement of the arc-shaped slider within the arc-shaped slideway. During the movement of the hinge mechanism 1 from the expanded state to the closed state, or vice versa, the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 relative to the housing fixing bracket 10128 can be seen in Figures 14a to 14d above, and will not be further described here.
[0195] In some other possible embodiments of the present application, when the hinge mechanism 1 is in the expanded state, the axis of the curved slide may also be located on the side of the curved slide facing the base 102. Thus, during the rotation of the hinge mechanism 1 from the expanded state to the closed state, the second slider of the swing arm 10129 slides in the second slide 1012821 from the second surface 101285 of the first housing fixing frame 10128 in a direction toward the first surface 101284. Furthermore, during the rotation of the hinge mechanism 1 from the closed state to the expanded state, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 slides in the third slide 1012831 from the first surface 101284 of the first housing fixing frame 10128 in a direction toward the second surface 101285.
[0196] It is worth mentioning that in the present application, when the third slide 1012831 is an arc-shaped slide, the third slider 101291 can also be other shapes that adapt to the arc-shaped slide, for example, it can be a slider that is entirely arc-shaped with a hollowed-out or spaced middle portion, or it can be some special-shaped slider, as long as it can slide in the shape of the arc-shaped slide. In addition, when the third slide 1012831 is an arc-shaped slide, the sliding of the third slider 101291 in the third slide 1012831 can also be understood as the rotation of the third slider 101291 around the first shell fixing frame 10128.
[0197] In the present application, the projection of the second direction on the first cross section is not parallel to the projection of the first direction on the first cross section. In addition to referring to the two intersecting, it can also refer to the two being tangent or separated. This is not specifically limited in the present application. For example, when the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 is designed as an arc-shaped slider, during the rotation of the shaft mechanism 1, the sliding trajectory of the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 is arc-shaped, for example, a circular arc; while the sliding trajectory of the first support arm 10121 is still a straight line. At this time, the sliding trajectory of the third slider 101291 and the sliding trajectory of the first support arm 10121 can intersect or be tangent, or they can be separated.
[0198] In the above embodiment of the present application, in order to improve the consistency and smoothness of the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, as well as the degree of integration of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 with the corresponding chute, reference can be made to FIG16 , which is a BB cross-sectional view of the structure shown in FIG11 , which can be used to illustrate the connection relationship between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129. A drive link 10130 can be provided between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, and the drive link 10130 can be rotatably connected to the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, respectively. For specific implementation, reference can be made to FIG17 , which is a schematic structural diagram of the drive link 10130 provided in a possible embodiment of the present application. The drive link 10130 can include a first connecting portion 101301 and a second connecting portion 101302. 16 and 17 , the first connecting portion 101301 is rotatably connected to the first support arm 10121 via a first connecting rod 101303, and the second connecting portion 101302 is rotatably connected to the swing arm 10129 via a second connecting rod 101304. It is worth noting that the axes of the first connecting rod 101303 and the second connecting rod 101304 do not overlap, thereby reducing the risk of interference with the respective movements of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129.
[0199] By providing a driving link 10130 between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, when the hinge mechanism 1 is in the closed state, the first support arm 10121, the swing arm 10129, and the driving link 10130 can jointly support the housing fixing frame 10128, thereby effectively improving the degree of movement coupling between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 and the housing fixing frame 10128, while also acting as a stop for the housing fixing frame 10128. In this way, even if an electronic device using the hinge mechanism 1 falls in the closed state, the risk of the housing fixing frame 10128 undergoing a large instantaneous displacement relative to the hinge mechanism 1 in this state can be effectively reduced, thereby ensuring the reliability of the overall structure of the electronic device.
[0200] To prevent the drive link 10130 from overconstraining the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 can be thinned to allow for a clearance fit between the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 and the third slideway 1012831 of the housing fixing frame 10128. In a specific implementation, the thickness of the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 can be reduced to allow for a clearance between the third slider 101291 and the sidewalls of the third slideway 1012831. In this case, the shape of the third slider 101291 can be adapted to match the shape of the third slideway 1012831. For example, if the third slideway 1012831 is a rectangular slideway, the third slider 101291 can be configured as a rectangular slider. Alternatively, the third slider 101291 may be configured as a pin, so that the third slider 101291 can slide in the third slideway 1012831 and can also rotate relative to the third slideway 1012831. This can increase the freedom of movement of the swing arm 10129 during the sliding of the third slider 101291 along the third slideway 1012831, while also ensuring the reliability of the cooperation between the swing arm 10129 and the third slide groove 101283 of the housing fixing frame 10128.
[0201] It should be noted that in the above embodiment, the driving link 10130 is rotatably connected to the first support arm 10121 via the first link 101303, and is rotatably connected to the swing arm 10129 via the second link 101304. In this way, a four-bar linkage is formed by the first support arm 10121, the first link 101303, the swing arm 10129, and the second link 101304. It will be appreciated that by adjusting the lengths of the various structures in the four-bar linkage, the resulting four-bar linkage can be configured as a parallelogram or a non-parallelogram.
[0202] In addition to the configuration described in the above embodiment, the drive link 10130 may also be configured in other possible configurations. For example, by rationally designing the structures of the drive link 10130, the swing arm 10129, and the first support arm 10121, the first connecting portion 101301 of the drive link 10130 can be slidably connected to the swing arm 10129 via the first connecting rod 101303, while the second connecting portion 101302 can be fixedly connected to the first support arm 10121. For example, a guide groove can be provided at the end of the swing arm 10129 facing the first support arm 10121, so that the first connecting rod 101303 can be inserted into the guide groove and slide along the groove surface of the guide groove, thereby achieving a sliding connection between the first connecting rod 101303 and the swing arm 10129. Alternatively, the second connecting portion 101302 of the drive link 10130 can be fixedly connected to the first support arm 10121 by bonding or threading. In some other possible embodiments of the present application, the driving link 10130 and the first support arm 10121 may be an integrally formed structure.
[0203] It can be understood that in some possible embodiments of the present application, the driving link 10130 can also be slidably connected to the first support arm 10121 and fixedly connected to the swing arm 10129. The specific setting method is similar to the above-mentioned embodiment in which the driving link 10130 is slidably connected to the swing arm 10129 and fixedly connected to the first support arm 10121, and will not be repeated here.
[0204] By adopting this arrangement, the driving link 10130 can be reasonably designed through the guide groove to improve the coupling degree between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 and the corresponding slide groove, thereby improving the consistency of the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 and making the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 smoother. In addition, when an electronic device using the hinge mechanism 1 falls in a closed state, the first support arm 10121, the swing arm 10129 and the driving link 10130 can jointly support the housing of the electronic device, thereby avoiding a large instantaneous displacement of the housing relative to the hinge mechanism 1, thereby improving the reliability of the overall structure of the electronic device.
[0205] In addition, in this embodiment, in order to avoid the setting of the driving connecting rod 10130 causing excessive constraints on the movement of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 can also be designed to be thinned so that the third slider 101291 of the swing arm 10129 is clearance-matched with the third slide 1012831 of the first shell fixing frame 10128. The specific setting method can refer to the above embodiment and will not be repeated here.
[0206] In the present application, in order to form a screen space between the first support plate 10111, the second support plate 10127 and the base 102, the second support plate 10127 and the shell fixing frame 10128 can be rotatably connected. It should be noted that the second support plate 10127 can be rotatably connected to multiple shell fixing frames 10128 located on the same side of the base 102, which helps to simplify the structure of the hinge mechanism 1 and improve the structural reliability of the hinge mechanism 1. In addition, when the hinge mechanism 1 provided in the present application is applied to an electronic device, the first support plate 10111 can be fixedly connected to a shell of the electronic device, or the first support plate 10111 can be part of a shell of the electronic device.
[0207] When the second support plate 10127 and the housing fixing frame 10128 are specifically rotatably connected, the housing fixing frame 10128 shown in FIG10 may be referred to. The housing fixing frame 10128 may also be provided with a rotation groove 101286, which may be a circular arc groove. In addition, reference may be made to FIG18 , which is a schematic structural diagram of the second support plate 10127 provided in a possible embodiment of the present application. The end of the second support plate 10127 facing the housing fixing frame 10128 may be provided with a rotation portion 101273, which may be configured as an arc, exemplarily a circular arc shape. In this way, the rotation portion 101273 may be mounted in the rotation groove 101286, and the relative rotation between the first support plate 10111 and the housing fixing frame 10128 may be achieved by sliding the rotation portion 101273 along the groove surface of the rotation groove 101286.
[0208] Reference is made to Figure 19, which is a schematic diagram illustrating a structure in which a first support plate 10111 and a second support plate 10127 support a flexible display screen 4, according to one possible embodiment of the present application. In Figure 19, the electronic device is in an unfolded state. At this point, the first surface 101114 of the first support plate 10111 and the third surface 101271 of the second support plate 10127 are coplanar with the supporting surface 1024 of the base 102, thereby providing smooth support for the flexible display screen 4.
[0209] Referring to Figure 20 , Figure 20 is a possible cross-sectional view of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application. Figure 20 can be used to illustrate the structure of the fourth plate surface 101272 of the second support plate 10127, as well as the connection relationship between the second support plate 10127 and other structures of the rotating shaft mechanism 1. Specifically, the fourth plate surface 101272 of the second support plate 10127 can be provided with a first guide portion 101274, which can be provided with a first track groove 1012741. Furthermore, in the present application, the swing arm 10129 can also be provided with a first guide structure 101293. This first guide structure 101293 can be, but is not limited to, a columnar structure. The first guide structure 101293 can be inserted into the first track groove 1012741 of the first guide portion 101274 of the second support plate 10127 and can slide along the first track groove 1012741. In this way, during the process of the swing arm 10129 rotating around the base 102, the first guide structure 101293 can slide in the first track groove 1012741 to drive the second support plate 10127 to rotate around the shell fixing frame 10128.
[0210] In another possible embodiment of the present application, the second support plate 10127 can be driven to rotate around the housing fixing frame 10128 by the first support arm 10121. In a specific implementation, the fourth plate surface 101272 of the second support plate 10127 can be provided with a first guide portion 101274, and the first guide portion 101274 can be provided with a first track groove 1012741. In addition, a first guide structure 101293 can be provided on the first support arm 10121. The first guide structure 101293 can be, but is not limited to, a columnar structure. The first guide structure 101293 can be inserted into the first track groove 1012741 of the first guide portion 101274 of the second support plate 10127 and can slide along the first track groove 1012741. Thus, during the rotation of the first support arm 10121 around the base 102, the first guide structure 101293 can slide within the first track groove 1012741, driving the second support plate 10127 to rotate around the housing fixed frame 10128. In some possible embodiments of the present application, the second support plate 10127 can also be slidably connected to both the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129. The manner of the sliding connection can be referred to in the above embodiment and will not be described in detail here. Thus, the rotation of the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129 around the base 102 drives the second support plate 10127 to rotate around the housing fixed frame 10128.
[0211] Referring to Figure 21 , Figure 21 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a first support plate 10111 according to a possible embodiment of the present application. In this application, the first support plate 10111 is connected to the base 102 using a single-axis rotational connection, and the rotational axes of the first support plate 10111 and the second support plate 10127 do not coincide. In a specific implementation, a first arc-shaped rotation block 101116 may be provided at one end of the first support plate 10111 for rotational connection to the base 102. Furthermore, referring to Figure 22 , Figure 22 is another possible cross-sectional view of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 according to an embodiment of the present application. The base 102 may also be provided with a first arcuate groove 1026, so that the first arcuate rotating block 101116 can slide along the groove surface of the first arcuate groove 1026, thereby enabling the first support plate 10111 to be rotationally connected to the base 102 via a virtual axis connection, which helps to reduce the space occupied by the first support plate 10111 on the base 102, thereby facilitating a miniaturized design of the rotating shaft mechanism 1. In other possible embodiments of the present application, the first support plate 10111 may also be rotationally connected to the base 102 via a physical rotating shaft to improve the reliability of the connection between the first support plate 10111 and the base 102.
[0212] Thus, in a possible embodiment of the present application, when the hinge mechanism 1 includes a plurality of main shaft assemblies, the first support plate 10111 of the main shaft assembly arranged opposite to the flexible display screen 4 of the electronic device can be connected to the base 102 by a virtual axis to achieve rotational connection, while the first support plates 10111 of the main shaft assembly located at the two ends in the length direction of the hinge mechanism 1 can be connected to the base 102 by a physical axis to achieve rotational connection.
[0213] As can be seen from the above, when the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 rotate toward each other, the first support arm 10121 itself or the swing arm 10129 can drive the end of the second support plate 10127 near the base 102 to move in a direction away from the base 102. Thus, referring to FIG. 23 , FIG. 23 shows that when the hinge mechanism 1 is in a closed state, the first support plate 10111, the second support plate 10127, and the base 102 can form a screen space 107. As can be understood from the above description of the structure of the hinge mechanism 1, when the electronic device moves from an expanded state to a closed state, the second support plate 10127 can rotate about the housing fixing frame 10128 driven by the swing arm 10129 and / or the first support arm 10121, causing the end of the second support plate 10127 near the base 102 to move away from the base 102. The first support plate 10111 is always connected to the base 102 through the first arc-shaped rotating block 101116, which makes the first rotating component 1011 and the second rotating component 1012 of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 an asymmetric setting relative to each other or relative to the base 102. Such a design can effectively reduce the width of the rotating shaft mechanism 1, make the structure of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 simpler, and reduce the weight of the rotating shaft mechanism 1.
[0214] In addition, referring to Figure 24 , which illustrates the structure in which the hinge mechanism 1 is in the closed state, the bent portion of the flexible display screen 4 is accommodated within the screen-accommodating space 107 formed by the first support plate 10111, the second support plate 10127, and the base 102. As can be seen in Figure 24 , the screen-accommodating space 107 formed between the first support plate 10111, the second support plate 10127, and the base 102 can be a triangular section inclined toward the second support plate 10127, resulting in the bent portion of the flexible display screen 4 accommodated within this screen-accommodating space 107 having an eccentric teardrop-like shape as shown in Figure 24 . This effectively reduces the width of the crease on the flexible display screen 4, thereby avoiding squeezing the flexible display screen 4 and thereby reducing the risk of damage to the flexible display screen 4, thereby enhancing the user experience.
[0215] Referring to Figure 25 , which is a schematic diagram of the structure of the rotating shaft mechanism 1 provided by the present application in an intermediate state, the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 can rotate synchronously in opposite directions. For example, during the process from the closed state shown in Figure 23 to the intermediate state shown in Figure 25 , the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 rotate synchronously in opposite directions.
[0216] Because the first support arm 10121 can slide along the first slide groove 101281 of the housing fixing frame 10128, the housing fixing frame 10128 can be driven to rotate at the same angle during the rotation of the first support arm 10121 around the base 102. Furthermore, because the housing fixing frame 10128 can be fixedly connected to one housing of the electronic device, the housing of the electronic device can rotate at the same angle as the first support arm 10121. Furthermore, in the present application, the first support plate 10111 can be fixedly connected to the other housing of the electronic device. Therefore, during the rotation of the first support arm 10121 around the base 102, the first support plate 10111 can be driven to rotate at the same angle, thereby causing the other housing of the electronic device to rotate at the same angle as the first support plate 10111. In this way, the synchronous counter-rotation of the first rotating assembly 1011 and the second rotating assembly 1012 can achieve synchronous counter-rotation of the two housings of the electronic device, thereby avoiding the application of instantaneous forces on the flexible display screen 4 fixed to the two housings, thereby improving the reliability of the flexible display screen 4.
[0217] In addition, by setting the first slide groove 101281, the second slide groove 101282 and the third slide groove 101283 on the shell fixing frame 10128, and in the process of the shell fixing frame 10128 rotating around the base 102, the first support arm 10121 slides along the first direction in the first slide groove 101281, the second support arm 10123 slides along the first direction in the second slide groove 101282, and the swing arm 10129 slides along the second direction in the third slide groove 101283, and the projection of the first direction on the first section may intersect with the projection of the second direction on the first section, wherein the first section may be a reference plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the first support arm 10121 and the rotation axis of the swing arm 10129. As a result, when the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, as well as the second support arm 10123 and the swing arm 10129, rotate about the base 102, their rotation axes do not coincide, thus achieving axial phase differences between the first support arm 10121 and the swing arm 10129, and between the second support arm 10123 and the swing arm 10129. In addition, by rationally designing the opening directions of the first slide groove 101281, the second slide groove 101282, and the third slide groove 101283, the rotation angles of the first support arm 10121, the second support arm 10123, and the swing arm 10129 relative to the base 102 can all be 90°, or even less than 90°. For example, in the hinge mechanism 1 provided herein, the rotation angle of the swing arm 10129 can be adjusted by adjusting the first track groove 1012741 of the second support plate 10127, so that the maximum rotation angle of the swing arm 10129 is less than or equal to 90°. With reference to Figures 23 and 24 , when the electronic device is closed, the second arc-shaped rotation block 101292 of the swing arm 10129 can be positioned farther from the flexible display 4. This prevents the swing arm 10129 from squeezing or pulling the flexible display 4, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the flexible display 4 and extending its service life.
[0218] Since the first support plate 10111 is always connected to the base 102 through the first arc-shaped rotating block 101116, when the electronic device is in a closed state, the screen space 107 formed by the hinge mechanism 1 is an inclined triangular interval, so that the bent part of the flexible display screen 4 accommodated in the screen space 107 can present an eccentric teardrop shape, which is conducive to reducing the width of the bending area of the flexible display screen 4, so as to improve the light and shadow of the flexible display screen 4 and enhance the user experience.
[0219] It is worth mentioning that, with continued reference to FIG. 24 , in the present application, the flexible display screen 4 of the electronic device can be fixedly connected to the first support plate 10111 and the second support plate 10127, and the connection method can be, but is not limited to, bonding. In a specific implementation, the flexible display screen 4 can be bonded to a portion of the first surface 101114 of the first support plate 10111, illustratively, to a portion of the housing near the corresponding side of the first surface 101114, and the flexible display screen 4 can be bonded to a portion of the third surface 101271 of the second support plate 10127, illustratively, to a portion of the third surface 101271 near the base 102. Thus, when the hinge mechanism 1 is in the unfolded state shown in FIG. 26 , the first support plate 10111, the second support plate 10127, and the base 102 can jointly provide a stable support for the flexible display screen 4. As the hinge mechanism 1 moves from the expanded state to the closed state, the two support plates can drive the flexible display screen 4 to rotate, effectively preventing deformation of the flexible display screen 4 and reducing the risk of damage to the flexible display screen 4. Furthermore, when the hinge mechanism 1 is in the closed state shown in FIG24 , the flexible display screen 4 can fit in contact with the two support plates, which can help improve the light and shadow of the flexible display screen 4.
[0220] In the rotating shaft mechanism 1 provided in the present application, in addition to being connected to the shell fixing frame 10128 by the sliding connection method provided in the above-mentioned embodiment, in some possible embodiments, other possible methods can also be used to achieve the connection between the swing arm 10129 and the shell fixing frame 10128.
[0221] For example, the swing arm 10129 can be rotatably connected to the housing fixing bracket 10128. For specific implementation, please refer to Figure 27, which is a schematic structural diagram of the swing arm 10129 provided in another possible embodiment of the present application. The swing arm 10129 has a mounting hole 101294 provided at one end thereof for mounting to the housing fixing bracket 10128.
[0222] In addition, reference may be made to FIG. 28 , which is a schematic diagram of the structure of a housing fixing frame 10128 provided in another possible embodiment of the present application. The housing fixing frame 10128 has a mounting portion 101287, which is spaced apart from the first slide groove 101281 along the length of the housing fixing frame 10128. The mounting hole 101294 and the mounting portion 101287 can be rotatably connected via a rotating shaft. In another possible embodiment of the present application, the mounting hole 101294 can also be provided on the housing fixing frame 10128, while the mounting portion 101287 can be provided on the swing arm 10129. In this case, the mounting hole 101294 and the mounting portion 101287 can also be rotatably connected via a rotating shaft.
[0223] In this embodiment of the present application, the connection method between the swing arm 10129 and the base 102, and the connection method between the first support arm 10121 and the shell fixing frame 10128 can refer to any of the above-mentioned embodiments. For example, the swing arm 10129 can be rotatably connected to the second arc groove 1025 of the base 102 through the second arc-shaped rotating block 101292, and the first support arm 10121 can slide along the first slide groove 101281 of the shell fixing frame 10128; or the second rotating component 1012 also includes a second support arm 10123, and the second support arm 10123 can slide along the second slide groove 101282 of the shell fixing frame 10128, etc., which will not be repeated here.
[0224] The hinge mechanism 1 provided in the above-mentioned embodiments of the present application can be used for example in the electronic device shown in FIG2 . Among them, the first rotating assembly 1011 can be fixedly connected to a shell located on the same side of the base 102, and the second rotating assembly 1012 can be fixedly connected to another shell. Exemplarily, the first support plate 10111 can be used to be fixedly connected to the first shell 2 of the electronic device shown in FIG2 , and the shell fixing frame 10128 of the second rotating assembly 1012 can be used to be fixedly connected to the second shell 3 of the electronic device shown in FIG2 . Among them, the first support plate 10111 can be a part of the middle frame of the first shell 2, that is, the first support plate 10111 and the middle frame of the first shell 2 are integrally formed. In addition, the second support plate 10127 can also be independent, and it can be fixedly connected to the first shell 2 by possible means such as bonding or threaded connection.
[0225] In the present application, when the electronic device is in the unfolded state as shown in Figure 29a, the supporting surface 1024 of the base 102, the first supporting surface 202 of the first shell 2, the second supporting surface 302 of the second shell 3, the first board surface 101114 of the first support plate 10111 and the third board surface 101271 of the second support plate 10127 can jointly play the role of flattening support for the flexible display screen 4, thereby ensuring the shape of one side of the flexible display screen 4 of the electronic device is intact in this unfolded state.
[0226] In addition, in order to ensure the integrity of the appearance of the electronic device, the electronic device may further include an end cap 108. In addition to serving as the appearance of the electronic device, the end cap 108 may also protect the structure in the hinge mechanism 1. Reference may be made to Figure 29b, which is a cross-sectional view of the electronic device shown in Figure 29a. In the present application, the end cap 108 may have a first receiving groove 1081, and at least a portion of the base 102 may be received in the first receiving groove 1081. In addition, when the electronic device is in the expanded state as shown in Figure 29b, at least a portion of the first appearance surface 201 of the first shell 2 may overlap with the groove surface of the first receiving groove 1081, so that in this state, a complete appearance surface is present between the first shell 2 and the end cap 108.
[0227] It is worth mentioning that in one possible embodiment of the present application, the first housing 2 may be a one-piece structure, in which case the exterior surface of the first housing 2 is the exterior surface of the one-piece structure. In other possible embodiments of the present application, the first housing 2 may be an assembly, exemplarily comprising a middle frame and a cover plate disposed on the middle frame. In this case, the cover plate may be located on the side of the middle frame facing away from the flexible display screen, in which case the exterior surface of the first housing 2 refers to the surface of the cover plate facing away from the flexible display screen.
[0228] Continuing with Figure 29b , the end of the second housing 3 facing the hinge mechanism 1 may further include a second receiving groove 303. The end cap 108 has a third exterior surface 1082, which is the surface of the end cap 108 facing away from the base 102. When the electronic device is in the unfolded state as shown in Figure 29b , at least a portion of the third exterior surface 1082 may overlap the groove surface of the second receiving groove 303, thereby creating a complete exterior surface between the second housing 3 and the end cap 108.
[0229] Based on this, when the electronic device is in the unfolded state shown in Figures 29a and 29b, the first appearance surface 201 of the first shell 2, the third appearance surface 1082 of the end cover 108, and the second appearance surface 301 of the second shell 3 are seamlessly connected to form the appearance surface of the electronic device, so that the electronic device has a complete appearance surface when in the unfolded state, thereby effectively improving the appearance of the electronic device. In addition, when the electronic device is in this unfolded state, referring to Figures 2 and 29a, the distance between the first appearance surface 201 and the flexible display screen 4 is smaller than the distance between the second appearance surface 301 and the flexible display screen 4, thereby realizing a non-uniform thickness design of the first shell 2 and the second shell 3. This design can make the thickness of the first shell 2 side smaller and lighter, and can simplify the structure of the first shell 2, which is conducive to simplifying the structure of the electronic device and reducing the weight of the electronic device, thereby improving the user experience.
[0230] Similar to the first housing 2, in one possible embodiment of the present application, the second housing 3 may be a one-piece structure, in which case the exterior surface of the second housing 3 is the exterior surface of the one-piece structure. In other possible embodiments of the present application, the second housing 3 may also be an assembly, exemplarily comprising a middle frame and a cover plate disposed on the middle frame. In this case, the cover plate may be located on the side of the middle frame facing away from the flexible display, in which case the exterior surface of the second housing 3 refers to the surface of the cover plate facing away from the flexible display.
[0231] 29b, the electronic device can also achieve a non-uniform thickness design for the first housing 2 and the second housing 3 using the above-described design, which can help simplify the structure of the electronic device and reduce the weight of the entire electronic device. It can be understood that using the design method of the electronic device provided in this application, thicker structures such as batteries in the electronic device can be placed in the second housing 3, while only thinner components such as the display circuit board can be placed in the first housing 2, thereby allowing for a reasonable layout of the various components of the electronic device.
[0232] In the present application, the first arcuate groove 1026 of the base 102 can be a completely hollowed-out structure. Referring to Figures 5 and 13 , the portion of the base 102 facing the first housing 2 is hollowed out to form a continuous first arcuate groove 1026 extending along the axial direction of the hinge mechanism 1. Furthermore, referring to Figure 29b , when the electronic device is in the unfolded state, at least a portion of the first housing 2 can be accommodated in the first arcuate groove 1026, and the portion of the first housing 2 accommodated in the first arcuate groove 1026 can also be designed as an arcuate structure to enable the portion of the first housing 2 to rotate within the first arcuate groove 1026 during the rotation of the first housing 2 around the base 102. In the present application, the portion of the first housing 2 accommodated in the first arcuate groove 1026 can be designed as a standard arcuate structure, and the surface of this portion facing away from the flexible display can be an arcuate surface. In some other possible embodiments of the present application, the portion of the first shell 2 accommodated in the first arc groove 1026 can also be designed as a non-standard arc structure, and the surface of this portion facing away from the flexible display screen can be formed by connecting multiple arc surfaces, as long as at least a portion of the first shell 2 can rotate in the first arc groove 1026 and interference between the two can be avoided.
[0233] 29b , since the first arc-shaped rotating block 101116 of the first support plate 10111 can also rotate in the first arc-shaped groove 1026, in the present application, the surface of the portion of the first shell 2 accommodated in the first arc-shaped groove 1026 facing the flexible display screen 4 can be fitted with the surface of the first arc-shaped rotating block 101116 facing away from the flexible display screen 4, so that the portion of the first shell 2 accommodated in the first arc-shaped groove 1026 and the first arc-shaped rotating block 101116 can rotate around the base 102 with the same axis.
[0234] During the movement of the electronic device from the unfolded state to the closed state shown in Figure 29b , in addition to at least a portion of the first housing 2 being able to rotate within the first arcuate groove 1026 of the base 102 , at least a portion of the third exterior surface 1082 is able to slide relative to the groove surface of the second receiving groove 303 . For specific implementation, reference may be made to Figure 30a , which is a schematic structural diagram of the electronic device in an intermediate state. Additionally, reference may be made to Figure 30b , which is a cross-sectional view of the electronic device shown in Figure 30a . Comparing Figures 29b and 30b , it can be seen that during the movement of the electronic device from the unfolded state to the closed state, the first exterior surface 201 is able to move relative to the groove surface of the first receiving groove 1081 in a direction away from the second exterior surface 301 . Furthermore, the second exterior surface 301 moves relative to the third exterior surface 1082 in a direction away from the first exterior surface 201 .
[0235] Referring to Figure 31a, Figure 31a is a schematic diagram of the structure of the electronic device in the closed state. Also, referring to Figure 31b, Figure 31b is a cross-sectional view of the electronic device shown in Figure 31a. Comparing Figures 30b and 31b, it can be seen that as the electronic device moves from the intermediate state to the closed state, the first exterior surface 201 continues to slide relative to the groove surface of the first receiving groove 1081 in a direction away from the second exterior surface 301. The third exterior surface 1082 continues to move relative to the groove surface of the second receiving groove 303 in a direction away from the second exterior surface 301. When the electronic device is in the closed state shown in Figure 31b, the first exterior surface 201 re-aligns with the groove surface of the first receiving groove 1081, thereby creating a complete exterior surface between the first housing 2 and the end cap 108. Furthermore, in this closed state, the third exterior surface 1082 re-aligns with the groove surface of the second receiving groove 303, thereby creating a complete exterior surface between the second housing 3 and the end cap 108.
[0236] Therefore, when the electronic device is in the expanded state shown in Figures 31a and 31b, the first appearance surface 201 of the first shell 2, the third appearance surface 1082 of the end cover 108, and the second appearance surface 301 of the second shell 3 are seamlessly connected to form the appearance surface of the electronic device, so that the electronic device has a complete appearance surface when in the closed state, thereby effectively improving the appearance of the electronic device. In addition, when the electronic device is in the closed state, the distance between the first appearance surface 201 and the flexible display screen 4 is also smaller than the distance between the second appearance surface 301 and the flexible display screen 4, thereby realizing a non-uniform thickness design of the first shell 2 and the second shell 3. This design can make the thickness of the first shell 2 side smaller and lighter, and can simplify the structure of the first shell 2, which is conducive to simplifying the structure of the electronic device and reducing the weight of the electronic device, thereby improving the user experience.
[0237] It can be understood that the process of the electronic device from a closed state to an expanded state is the process from Figure 31a to Figure 29a. During this process, the relative positions of the first appearance surface 201, the second appearance surface 301 and the third appearance surface 1082 are opposite to the process of the electronic device from an expanded state to a closed state, and will not be repeated here.
[0238] It is worth mentioning that in the present application, when the electronic device is in a closed state, the first plate surface 101114 and the first support surface 202 can be located in the same plane, which can support the flexible display screen 4 when the electronic device is in an unfolded state, which is conducive to achieving stable support for the flexible display screen 4, and is also conducive to simplifying the mechanism design and reducing the difficulty of bonding the flexible display screen 4, so as to improve the structural reliability of the flexible display screen 4.
[0239] The electronic device of the present application, when in a closed state, can make the angle between the first plate surface 101114 and the first support surface 202 smaller than the angle between the third plate surface 101271 and the second support surface 302, so as to form a screen space 107 between the first plate surface 101114, the third plate surface 101271 and the bearing surface 1024. From the above introduction to the hinge mechanism 1, it can be seen that the screen space 107 is an inclined triangular interval, which can help reduce the volume and weight of the hinge mechanism 1, thereby enabling the electronic device to reserve sufficient space for the arrangement of other components, thereby facilitating the improvement of the performance of the electronic device. In addition, the bent portion of the flexible display screen 4 accommodated in the screen space 107 presents an eccentric teardrop shape, which helps to reduce the width of the bent portion of the flexible display screen 4, thereby improving the user experience.
[0240] It should be understood that in order to realize the form of the above-mentioned electronic device, the present application is not limited to the various embodiments of the hinge mechanism 1 mentioned above, and any hinge mechanism 1 that can realize the following states is acceptable, namely:
[0241] When the electronic device is in a closed state and an unfolded state, the first appearance surface 201 overlaps with the groove surface of the first accommodating groove 1081, and the third appearance surface 1082 overlaps with the groove surface of the second accommodating groove 303, so as to realize a thinning design on the first shell 2 side of the electronic device, thereby simplifying the structure of the electronic device, reducing the weight, and making the thickness of the electronic device smaller when in a closed state. In addition, when the electronic device is in a closed state, the angle between the first plate surface 101114 and the first support surface 202 is smaller than the angle between the third plate surface 101271 and the second support surface 302, so as to form a screen space 107 between the first plate surface 101114, the third plate surface 101271 and the bearing surface 1024; or, when the electronic device is in a closed state, the angle between the first plate surface 101114 of the first support plate 10111 and the bearing surface 1024 is greater than the angle between the third plate surface 101271 of the second support plate 10127 and the bearing surface 1024, so that a triangular screen space 107 inclined toward the side of the first support plate 10111 can be formed between the first plate surface 101114, the second plate surface 101115 and the bearing surface 1024.
[0242] In addition, in the present application, the first track groove 1012741 of the second support plate 10127 can be reasonably designed so that when the electronic device is in the closed state, a space sufficient to accommodate the bent portion of the flexible display screen 4 is formed between the two support plates and the base 102. This can avoid the existence of a gap in the electronic device at the hinge mechanism 1, thereby ensuring that the electronic device has a relatively complete shape when closed. In this way, foreign objects inserted into the electronic device through the hinge mechanism 1 can be prevented from damaging the flexible display screen 4, and can also facilitate the thinning design of the entire electronic device.
[0243] The above are only specific embodiments of the present application, but the scope of protection of this application is not limited thereto. Any changes or substitutions that can be easily conceived by a person skilled in the art within the technical scope disclosed in this application should be included in the scope of protection of this application. Therefore, the scope of protection of this application should be based on the scope of protection of the claims.
