Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of vehicles, in particular to wheeled vehicles, and in particular to cycles, such as bicycles.
[0002] The invention relates more particularly to a braking device for such a wheeled vehicle, the wheeled vehicle comprising a handlebar and a brake cable having a portion for attachment to the handlebar. The braking device makes it possible to brake the vehicle when the vehicle is actuated. Background Art
[0003] Braking devices are known to include:
[0004] a support having a first portion and a second portion and a bend between the first portion and the second portion, the first portion being configured to be attached to the handlebar via an attachment element;
[0005] a pivoting body mounted on the curved portion of the support, the pivoting body being pivotable about a pivoting axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the attachment element; and
[0006] - A member for guiding the brake cable into the support, mounted on the second portion of the support.
[0007] Document EP2594469 B1 describes a brake device for equipping a children's bicycle. The device allows children with small hands to grasp the brake lever and easily apply the necessary braking force.
[0008] However, when the brake device is mounted on a vehicle (such as a bicycle), the guide member protrudes toward the front of the vehicle. Therefore, the guide member is bulky and it is necessary to limit its size.
[0009] Furthermore, such positioning of the guide member requires that the brake cable also extends towards the front of the brake device, making it even more bulky. There is also a risk that the brake cable will hinder the user when the user actuates the brake lever. Furthermore, given the arrangement of the guide member, the brake cable also presents a significant curvature between the brake of the vehicle of the brake device and the guide member, increasing the friction of the brake cable within the sheath and reducing the effectiveness of the brake. Summary of the invention
[0010] An object of the present invention is to provide a braking device which remedies the above-mentioned disadvantages.
[0011] To this end, the invention relates to a brake device for a wheeled vehicle comprising a handlebar and a brake cable with an attachment portion, the brake device comprising:
[0012] - a support member having a first portion and a second portion opposite the first portion, the first portion being provided with an attachment element for attachment to a handlebar, the attachment element extending along a longitudinal axis; and - a pivoting body, which is pivotally mounted on the second portion of the support member about a pivot axis between at least one rest position and an actuated position, the pivot axis being substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the attachment element, the pivoting body comprising a brake lever which projects from the first portion of the pivoting body in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the attachment element, the pivoting body also having a second portion which is provided with a receiving area for receiving an attachment portion of a brake cable, the pivot axis being arranged between the first portion and the second portion of the pivoting body,
[0013] The support also includes a guide member for guiding the brake cable into the support, the guide member having a guide axis for the brake cable, which is substantially perpendicular to the pivot axis, the guide member and the receiving area extending on both sides of a plane passing through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element.
[0014] The attachment element makes it possible to mount the braking device (preferably removably) on the handlebar. In this way, the support remains immobile relative to the handlebar. In a non-limiting manner, the attachment element may include an attachment sleeve extending along the longitudinal axis. The attachment element advantageously forms a one-piece assembly with the support.
[0015] The handlebar advantageously comprises a grip handle allowing a user to manipulate the handlebar to steer the vehicle. The grip handle advantageously extends along a longitudinal direction, the longitudinal axis of the attachment element being adjacent to said longitudinal direction when the brake device is mounted on the handlebar.
[0016] Preferably, the attachment portion of the brake cable is located at a first end of the brake cable.Preferably, the attachment portion comprises a cable head.
[0017] The brake cable is advantageously arranged in a sheath. The brake cable traverses the guide member, while one end of the sheath is accommodated in the guide member. The guide member advantageously comprises a through hole traversed by the brake cable. The guide member advantageously comprises a sheath stop arranged in the guide member, against which the gain abuts. The sheath stop advantageously has an oval shape, which limits the risk of water entering the sheath of the brake cable.
[0018] The guide member advantageously comprises a wheel for adjusting the tension of the brake cable. Thus, in addition to guiding the cable in the support, the guide member also enables the tension of the brake cable to be adjusted. This limits the number of parts required to achieve these functions and therefore limits the bulk of the braking device.
[0019] The adjusting wheel is advantageously movable in translation relative to the support. The adjusting wheel advantageously comprises threading or tapping (external or internal threading), while the support has a tapped portion or a threaded portion (internal or external threading), respectively, and the adjusting wheel is configured to be screwed onto the tapped portion or the threaded portion, respectively. Optionally, but not limited to, a tapped connection portion or a threaded connection portion, respectively, can be mounted on the support, and the adjusting wheel is configured to be screwed onto the connection portion.
[0020] Furthermore, the pivot axis of the pivoting body of the brake device according to the invention is arranged between the accommodation area and the brake lever. One benefit is that a lever effect is formed, reducing the force that needs to be applied to the brake lever to pivot the accommodation area and pull the attachment portion of the brake cable.
[0021] In the rest position, the brake lever is preferably away from the handlebar. The pivoting body does not pull the brake cable, so the brake device does not brake.
[0022] The guide member enables the brake cable to be guided into the support. In other words, the brake cable enters the support along said guide axis.
[0023] Preferably, the guide member extends along the guide axis. The guide member advantageously has the form of a sleeve.
[0024] Preferably, but not limited to, the support and the guide member form a one-piece assembly.Alternatively, the support and the guide member may be two separate parts fixed to each other without departing from the scope of the present invention.
[0025] When the pivot body is in the rest position, the guide axis advantageously passes through the receiving area.
[0026] In order to brake the wheels of the vehicle, the user actuates the brake lever, for example by bending his finger. The brake lever is pivoted about the pivot axis and approaches the handlebar. The pivoting body then pivots about the pivot axis, which has the effect of changing the position of the receiving area, which moves away from the guide member. Next, a traction force is applied to the attachment portion of the brake cable and, more generally, to the brake cable, which results in braking of the vehicle.
[0027] When the pivoting body is brought into the actuated position, the accommodation area advantageously describes a circular trajectory.
[0028] Preferably, the pivoting body has an angular travel between 30° and 60°, more preferably approximately 45°, between the rest position and the actuated position.
[0029] Without limitation, the pivoting body may be in a plurality of intermediate positions between the rest position and the actuated position.
[0030] Thanks to the invention, when the brake device is mounted on the handlebar, the guide member protrudes upwards or downwards from the support, or in other words, extends at the top or bottom of the support, unlike the brake devices of the prior art, in which the guide member protrudes from the support and the front of the vehicle. As a result, the guide member of the brake device is particularly small in size and the compactness of the brake device is improved.
[0031] Furthermore, when the brake device is mounted on the handlebar, the guide axis extends substantially vertically or slightly inclined relative to the vertical direction. Furthermore, the brake cable also extends substantially vertically to the outlet of the brake device. Unlike known brake devices, the brake cable of the brake device according to the invention does not extend to the front of the brake device, which reduces the interference caused by the brake cable.
[0032] When the braking device is mounted on said handlebar, the guide axis advantageously extends substantially parallel to the head tube of the wheeled vehicle.
[0033] Due to the braking device according to the invention, the distance between the brake of the vehicle and the guide member is reduced. Furthermore, the brake cable describes a more direct trajectory between the brake of the vehicle and the guide member. As a result, the brake cable protrudes less and is better protected, which reduces the risk of damage, for example the risk of being pulled out by a branch. Furthermore, the brake cable has a smaller curvature between the guide member and the brake. It can be seen from this that the friction to which the brake cable is subjected during braking is reduced. The efficiency of the braking is thus improved.
[0034] Furthermore, since the guide axis of the brake cable is substantially perpendicular to the pivot axis, the brake cable has a reduced curvature within the brake device compared to a brake device in which the guide axis is substantially parallel to the pivot axis. The friction experienced by the brake cable is further reduced.
[0035] Preferably, when the brake device is mounted on a handlebar of a vehicle, the guide member is arranged below said plane passing through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element. The guide member also advantageously extends below the receiving area.
[0036] Preferably, the guide member projects downwardly from the support when the brake device is mounted on a handlebar of a vehicle.Preferably, the guide member extends below said plane passing through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element when the brake device is mounted on a handlebar of a vehicle.
[0037] Preferably, the distance between the brake lever and the pivot axis, considered in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis, is preferably greater than or equal to the distance between the pivot axis and the receiving area.
[0038] Preferably, the guide axis is perpendicular to the pivot axis.
[0039] Preferably, the guide axis does not pass through the accommodation area when the pivoting body is in the actuated position.
[0040] Preferably, the brake lever of the guide member extends on the same side of said plane passing through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element.
[0041] Advantageously, the brake device is configured such that the brake cable extends within said brake device in a plane transverse to the pivot axis, preferably in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis.
[0042] Advantageously, the attachment element comprises an attachment sleeve for mounting the braking device on a handlebar, the attachment sleeve extending along the longitudinal axis. The attachment sleeve has a cylindrical shape for clamping around a tube of a handlebar of a vehicle.
[0043] The attachment sleeve can be a separate part from the support or alternatively form a one-piece assembly with the support.
[0044] Advantageously, the pivoting body has a bend between the first and second portions of the pivoting body, the pivot axis crossing the bend. In other words, the pivot axis is located at the level of the bend.
[0045] The curved portion extends between the receiving area and the brake lever. The curved shape of the pivoting body makes it possible to greatly increase the force applied by the user on the brake lever, which facilitates the traction on the brake cable.
[0046] Preferably, the bend is arranged such that the pivot axis is located above the first phalanx of the user's hand. One benefit is improved ergonomics of the brake device, since the trajectory of the brake lever corresponds to the natural movement of the fingers during braking, in particular the movement of the third phalanx.
[0047] Preferably, the guide member is arranged between the first part and the second part of the support.A further benefit is that the compactness of the braking device is improved. Thus, the guide member is not mounted on the second part of the support.
[0048] It is also preferred that the guide member is arranged close to the attachment element.
[0049] Preferably, the brake lever is brought close to the guide member when the pivoting body is brought from the rest position into the actuated position. One benefit is that the risk of the brake lever pulling the brake cable during actuation is reduced in the event that the brake cable and the brake lever become entangled.
[0050] According to a particularly advantageous aspect, the guide axis of the guide member extends transversely to the plane passing through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element. Here, a further benefit is that the volume of the brake device is reduced by avoiding that the guide member protrudes forwards from the support and that the brake cable also extends forwards from the brake device.
[0051] When the brake device is mounted on a handlebar of a vehicle, the guide axis advantageously extends substantially vertically.
[0052] Advantageously, the guide member and the pivot axis are arranged on either side of a plane perpendicular to the guide axis and passing through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element.
[0053] The guide member thus extends below the user's hand. The guide member also extends below the horizontal plane passing through the handlebar. A further benefit is that the distance between the guide member and the brake is reduced, and thus the length of the path that the brake cable travels between the guide member and the brake.
[0054] Advantageously, the receiving area and the guide member are also arranged on both sides of the plane which is perpendicular to the guide axis and passes through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element.
[0055] Advantageously, the guide member and the attachment element extend on the same side of a plane passing through the pivot axis and through the brake lever.
[0056] Preferably, the second portion of the pivot body comprises an outer surface, and the receiving area comprises a cavity formed in the outer surface, the cavity being configured to receive an attachment portion of the brake cable.
[0057] The cavity also holds an attachment portion of the brake cable.
[0058] Such a cavity is particularly suitable for receiving and retaining the cable head of a brake cable.
[0059] Regardless of the position of the pivoting body, the attached portion of the cable is advantageously retained within the cavity.
[0060] Preferably, when the brake device is mounted on the handlebar, the pivoting body includes a cover portion that overhangs the cavity. One benefit is that the cavity and the attachment portion of the brake cable are protected, in particular by preventing rain water from entering the cavity.
[0061] Advantageously, the outer surface of the pivoting body is curved and convex at the level of the cover. One benefit is that if in the actuated position of the pivoting body, the attachment portion should come out of the cavity, facilitating the positioning of the attachment portion of the brake cable in the cavity. The brake cable can slide on the curved outer surface until the attachment portion is brought back into the cavity.
[0062] Advantageously, the support comprises a top portion which, when the pivoting body is in the rest position, is situated on the cover facing the pivoting body, said top portion having a curved and convex outer surface. Here, a further benefit is that, if the attachment part has become detached from the cavity, the brake cable is guided so as to bring the attachment part back into the cavity.
[0063] Preferably, the cavity comprises a contact surface on which the attachment portion of the brake cable bears, the contact surface extending substantially perpendicularly to the guide axis when the pivoting body is in the rest position.
[0064] When the pivoting body is in the rest position, the attachment portion of the brake cable rests on said contact surface which holds the attachment portion in the cavity. In view of the tension exerted on the brake cable, for example by a return member arranged at the level of the vehicle brake, the force exerted on the end portion is substantially directly perpendicular to said contact surface, presenting said attachment portion to come out of the cavity.
[0065] Another benefit is that water accumulation in the cavity is avoided.
[0066] When the pivoting body is brought into the actuated position, the receiving area pivots and the contact surface is inclined towards the pivot axis relative to a plane perpendicular to the guide axis, which tends to hold the attachment portion in the cavity more effectively.
[0067] Preferably, a groove is formed in the outer surface of the second portion of the pivoting body, the groove opening into the cavity and configured to accommodate at least a portion of the brake cable between the guide member and the attachment portion of the brake cable. One benefit is to guide the cable within the pivoting body up to the accommodation area. Another benefit is to protect the brake cable and avoid it being pinched between the pivoting body and the support.
[0068] The groove is preferably curved; its curvature advantageously describes a circle centered on the pivot axis.
[0069] The groove advantageously extends between the receiving area and the guide component.
[0070] According to a particularly advantageous aspect, the pivoting body comprises a circular support portion configured to support the brake cable when the pivoting body is brought into the actuated position, the circular support portion substantially defining a portion of a circle centered on the pivot axis, the guide member being configured such that the guide axis remains substantially tangential to the circular portion when the pivoting body is brought from the at least one static position into the actuated position, and vice versa.
[0071] In other words, the brake cable is wound around said circular support when the pivoting body is transferred from the rest position to the actuated position.
[0072] When the pivoting body is in the actuated position, the brake cable has a straight portion extending between the guide member and the circular support portion and a curved portion supported by the circular support portion within the brake device.
[0073] This configuration allows the friction between the brake cable and the pivoting body to be limited when switching from the rest position to the actuated position and vice versa, thereby improving the efficiency of the brake and also improving the guidance of the cable in the brake device.
[0074] Preferably, the guide axis always remains tangential to the circular support portion, regardless of the position of the pivoting body.
[0075] Advantageously, said recess comprises a rear wall defining said circular support.
[0076] Preferably, the second portion of the support comprises a first wing and a second wing extending substantially parallel to the first wing, the pivoting body extending at least partially between the first and second wing when the pivoting body is in the rest position.
[0077] In other words, the first wing and the second wing define a housing configured to accommodate a pivoting body.
[0078] Preferably, the first and second wing portions flank a portion of the pivoting body extending between the pivot axis and the second portion of the pivoting body, or between a bend in the pivoting body and the second portion.
[0079] Preferably, the accommodation area extends between the first wing and the second wing when the pivoting body is in the rest position. One benefit is that the accommodation area and the attachment portion of the brake cable are protected, in particular from rain. Another benefit is that lateral retention of the attachment portion in the accommodation area is ensured.
[0080] Advantageously, when the pivoting body is in the actuated position, the receiving area protrudes beyond the first wing and the second wing. In other words, the receiving area extends beyond the support and is accessible to a user, for example to access the attachment portion of the brake cable. One benefit is, for example, the ability to remove the attachment portion from the receiving area.
[0081] Advantageously, the brake device further comprises a reset element arranged to bring the pivoting body into the rest position when the brake lever is not actuated, and the support comprises at least one stop, the pivoting body comprising at least one shoulder configured to abut against said stop when said pivoting body is brought into the rest position. One benefit is that no force needs to be applied to the brake lever in such a way as to bring the pivoting body into the rest position. Another benefit is that the pivoting body is prevented from staying in the actuated position, which would result in untimely braking of the vehicle.
[0082] The invention also relates to a wheeled vehicle having at least one wheel attached to a frame, the frame comprising a handlebar and at least one brake, the at least one brake being associated with the wheel and being actuatable by a brake cable having an attachment portion, the vehicle further comprising a braking device as described above, the receiving area of the braking device accommodating the attachment portion of the brake cable, the braking device being attached to the handlebar by means of the attachment element, the braking device being configured to exert a traction force on the brake cable in order to brake the wheel when the pivoting body is brought into the actuated position.
[0083] Preferably, the guide member extends below the plane passing through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment element.
[0084] Preferably, the guide member protrudes downwardly from the support. The guide member advantageously extends below the attachment area. Advantageously, the guide axis extends substantially vertically. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0096] The invention relates to a brake device for a vehicle, for example for a bicycle, comprising a handlebar and a brake cable.
[0097] Figures 1 to 7 A first embodiment is shown, given by way of a non-limiting example, of a brake device 10 according to the invention. This brake device 10 is intended to be mounted on a wheeled vehicle 100, such as a bicycle, comprising a handlebar 12 equipped with at least one grip handle 14 allowing a user to manipulate the handlebar 12, and at least one brake actuable by a brake cable C having a first end and a second end, the first end being equipped with an attachment portion Ca, which in this non-limiting example comprises a cable head Ca.
[0098] The braking device 10 comprises a support 18 having a first portion 18a forming a first end of the support and a second portion 18b opposite the first portion 18a and forming a second end of the support. The first portion 18a of the support 18 is provided with an attachment element 20 which, in this non-limiting example, comprises an attachment sleeve 20, such as Figure 2 As shown, the attachment sleeve 20 is used to attach the brake device 10 to the handlebar 12, in particular the tubular portion of the handlebar.
[0099] from Figure 2 As can be seen in the figure, the attachment sleeve 20 is separate and comprises a clamping device 22. The attachment sleeve extends along a longitudinal axis X and has a general cylindrical shape. The attachment sleeve 20 is intended to be clamped around the handlebar 12 of the vehicle so that the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20 is colinear with the axis of the handlebar, in particular with the axis of the grip handle 14. Without departing from the scope of the invention, the support 18 may be formed as a single part with the handlebar.
[0100] exist Figure 1 As can be seen in the figure, the second portion 18b of the support 18 comprises a first wing 19 and a second wing 21 extending substantially parallel to the first wing 19. The first wing 19 and the second wing 21 are spaced apart from each other and extend from the first portion 18a of the support 18. The first wing and the second wing define a housing inside the support.
[0101] The second portion 18b of the support member 18 further comprises two stoppers 23, such as Figure 4 As shown, they are formed on the first wing 19 and the second wing 21 respectively.
[0102] According to the invention, the braking device 10 also comprises a pivoting body 24, which can in particular Figure 2 The pivoting body 24 is pivotably mounted relative to the support 18 about a pivot axis Y between a rest position and an actuated position. More precisely, the pivoting body 24 is pivotably mounted on the second portion 18b of the support. The pivot axis Y is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20 and therefore to the axis of the gripping handle 14. This pivot axis Y is arranged in the second portion 18b of the support 18 and crosses said second portion.
[0103] The pivot body 24 includes a first portion 24a, a second portion 24b opposite to the first portion, and a curved portion 24c located between the first portion and the second portion. The pivot axis Y is disposed between the first portion 24a and the second portion 24b of the pivot body. The pivot axis Y crosses the curved portion 24c.
[0104] The pivoting body 24 extends partially between the first wing 19 and the second wing 21 of the support 18, or in other words, inside the housing formed by said first and second wings. The first wing 19 and the second wing 21 flank a portion of the pivoting body extending between the curved portion 24c and the second portion 24b. When the pivoting body 24 is in the rest position, the two wings 19, 21 flank the second portion 24b of the pivoting body.
[0105] The ends of the first wing 19 and the second wing 21 each have a hole which receives an axle which crosses the bend 24c of the pivoting body so as to form a pivot connection between the pivoting body 24 and the support 18. The brake device 10 further comprises a return element 17, such as a spring, which is arranged around the axle which crosses the bend. The return element 17 is arranged to bring the pivoting body 24 back to the rest position when the brake lever is not actuated.
[0106] The pivoting body 24 also comprises two shoulders 25 formed at the level of the bend 24c, which Figure 4 The shoulder 25 is configured to come into contact with the stop 23 when the pivoting body is brought into the rest position.
[0107] The pivoting body 24 comprises a brake lever 26 extending from a first portion 24a of the pivoting body 24. The lever 26 extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20 and substantially parallel to the pivot axis Y. In other words, the brake lever 26 extends substantially perpendicular to the pivoting body 24. In particular, the brake lever 26 extends substantially parallel to the grip handle 14, substantially along the entire length of the grip handle.
[0108] from Figure 3 As can be seen in the cross-sectional view of FIG. 2 , the pivot body 24 includes an outer surface 28 parallel to the pivot axis Y.
[0109] Reference Figure 2 and Figure 3 , it can be seen that the second portion 24b of the pivoting body 24 comprises a receiving area 30 for the cable head Ca. The receiving area 30 extends between a plane passing through the first wing and a plane passing through the second wing.
[0110] In this non-limiting example, the accommodation area 30 comprises a cavity 32 formed in the outer surface 28 of the pivoting body at the level of the second portion 24b of the pivoting body. The cavity 32 is configured to accommodate a cable head Ca of a brake cable C. The cavity 32 has a parallelepiped shape. The cavity 32 has in particular a contact surface 32a on which said head Ca of the brake cable bears. Said contact surface 32a forms the lower wall of the cavity.
[0111] Furthermore, a groove 34 is formed in the outer surface 28 of the pivoting body 24, flush with the second portion 24b of the pivoting body. The groove 34 opens into the cavity 32 and is configured to receive a portion of the brake cable C. The groove 34 is curved.
[0112] like Figure 2 and Figure 3 As shown, the pivoting body 24 also comprises a circular support 36 configured to support the brake cable C when said pivoting body 24 is brought into the actuated position. In this non-limiting example, the circular support 36 forms the bottom of the groove 34 .
[0113] The circular support 36 defines a circular portion C1 centered on the pivot axis Y, with a radius corresponding to the distance between the pivot axis Y and the circular support 36. The circle C1 passes through the circular support 36 whatever the position of the pivoting body.
[0114] from Figure 2 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the support 18 further comprises a guide member 40 configured to guide the brake cable C into the support 18. The guide member has a guide axis Z for the brake cable and extends along said guide axis Z. The guide axis Z is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20. The guide member 40 has a substantially cylindrical shape and has a through hole configured to accommodate the brake cable C.
[0115] The guide member comprises an oval sheath stop 42 .
[0116] The guide member 40 is arranged between the first part 18a and the second part 18b of the support. The brake cable enters the support 18 through the guide member 40. The groove 34 extends between the guide member 40 and the receiving area 30. A portion of the brake cable located between the cable head 34 and the guide member 40 extends in the groove 34.
[0117] In the braking device 10 , regardless of the position of the pivoting body, the brake cable C always extends in a plane transverse to the pivot axis Y, preferably in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis.
[0118] The guide axis Z of the guide member 40 is tangential to said circle C1 and to a portion of the circle defined by the circular support 36. One benefit is the reduction of friction between the brake cable C and the pivoting body 24 during the pivoting of the pivoting body.
[0119] According to the present invention, Figure 2 It can be seen in FIG. 4 that the guide axis Z of the guide member 40 is substantially perpendicular to the pivot axis Y of the pivot body 24 .
[0120] According to the invention, it can also be seen that the accommodation area 30 for the cable head Ca and the guide member 40 forming the attachment portion extend on both sides of a first plane P1 passing through the pivot axis Y and through the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20. In other words, the guide member 40 extends on a first side of said plane P1, while the accommodation area 30 extends on a second side of said first plane P1. The guide member 40 extends below said first plane P1. Therefore, the guide member 40 does not protrude in front of the support and the vehicle, thereby improving the compactness of the braking device.
[0121] The guide axis Z extends substantially vertically, so that the brake cable C enters the support 18 along said substantially vertical guide axis.
[0122] The brake lever 26 and the guide member 40 extend on the same side of said first plane P1 which passes through the pivot axis Y and through the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20 .
[0123] exist Figure 2 In FIG. 2 , it can be seen that the guide axis Z extends transversely to said first plane P1 which passes through the pivot axis Y and through the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20 .
[0124] Furthermore, the guide member 40 and the pivot axis Y are arranged on both sides of a second plane P2, which is perpendicular to the guide axis Z and passes through the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20. Similarly, the receiving area 30 and the guide member extend on both sides of the second plane P2. The receiving area 30 and the pivot axis Y extend on the same side of the second plane P2.
[0125] exist Figure 2 In FIG. 4 , it can also be seen that the guide member 40 and the attachment sleeve 20 extend on the same side of a third plane P3 passing through the pivot axis Y and through the brake lever 26 .
[0126] The angle between the first plane and the third plane is approximately 90°. The guide member 40 is disposed between the attachment sleeve 20 and the brake lever 26 .
[0127] Figure 7 The front part of a wheeled vehicle is shown, in this case a bicycle 100, which comprises a braking device 10 according to the invention. The braking device 10 is mounted on a tube of a handlebar 12. The bicycle 100 comprises at least one front wheel 110 attached to a frame 120 and a brake 130 associated with the wheel for braking the wheel and connected to the braking device 10 by a brake cable C.
[0128] When the brake device 10 is mounted on the bicycle 100, the guide member 40 extends below a first plane P1 passing through the pivot axis Y and passing through the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve, and also extends below a second plane P2 perpendicular to the guide axis Z and passing through the longitudinal axis X of the attachment sleeve 20. The guide member 40 is located on the bottom portion of the support 18 and below the receiving area 30 of the pivot body 24 and below the attachment sleeve 20. The guide member 40 protrudes downward from the support 18.
[0129] The guide axis Z of the guide member 40 extends substantially vertically. The guide member 40 is substantially directed toward the brake 130 .
[0130] Likewise, from Figure 7 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , the brake cable C enters the support 18 substantially vertically. Thanks to the invention, the distance between the guide member 40 and the brake 130 is thus reduced. The brake cable C extends along the frame and presents a substantially straight trajectory. The brake cable does not present any loop.
[0131] exist Figures 1 to 3 , the pivoting body 24 is in a rest position. The guide axis Z is then substantially perpendicular to a plane passing through the pivot axis Y and through the housing 30. The housing 30 extends between the first wing and the second wing. The shoulder 25 of the pivoting body 24 rests on the stop 23 of the support 18.
[0132] In this rest position, the brake lever 26 is away from the grip handle 14 and the guide member 40. In the support 18, the brake cable C is tangential to the circle C1 and the circular support portion 36. Figure 2 As shown, the contact surface 32a of the cavity 32 extends substantially perpendicularly to the guide axis Z. The cable head Ca is supported on said contact surface 32a, which holds it in the cavity 32. Furthermore, in the rest position, the guide axis Z passes through said receiving region 30.
[0133] The pivoting body 24 comprises a cover 27 which overhangs the cavity 32 of the receiving area 30, protecting it from rain. The cover 27 presents a curvature which enables it to guide the brake cable so as to bring it back into the cavity 32 when the attachment portion Ca comes out.
[0134] The support 18 comprises a top portion 29 which is arranged facing the cover 27 of the pivoting body when the pivoting body is in the rest position. The top portion 29 comprises a curved outer surface 31 on which the brake cable can slide in order to guide the cable head Ca in the cavity 32.
[0135] The pivoting body 24 also includes an upper surface 33 which is flush with an upper surface 35 of the support 18 when the pivoting body is in the rest position. Figure 4 Shown in.
[0136] like Figures 4 to 6 As shown in , for braking, the user actuates the brake lever 26 by bending his fingers. The pivoting body 24 is then pivoted from the rest position to the actuated position. The brake lever 26 moves toward the attachment sleeve 20 and the grip handle 14. In addition, when the pivoting body is brought into the actuated position, the brake lever 26 is brought close to the guide member 40.
[0137] During actuation of the pivoting body 24, when it enters the actuated position, the cavity 32 of the housing area 30 is displaced and moves away from the guide member 40 and the attachment sleeve 20. The housing area 30 is then located above one of the two wings of the support. In this non-limiting example, the housing area 30 describes a circular trajectory during actuation that follows the circle C1.
[0138] This displacement of the accommodation area 30 results in a displacement of the cable head Ca of the brake cable C, which bears on the contact surface 32a of the cavity 32. The cable head Ca thus describes a circular trajectory. The pivoting body 24 exerts a traction force on the brake cable C, which results in braking of the vehicle.
[0139] When changing to the actuated position of the pivoting body, the contact surface 32 a is inclined relative to the guide axis Z toward the pivot axis Y. Thus, the cable head Ca is effectively held in the cavity 32 .
[0140] exist Figure 4 and Figure 5 It can be seen that in the actuated position, the second portion 24b of the pivoting body 24 protrudes beyond the support 18. The cavity 32 extends out of the housing formed by the first wing 19 and the second wing 21. Furthermore, the cavity 32 extends over the support 18 so as to be in contact with the cable head Ca.
[0141] from Figure 6 As can be seen in FIG. 1 , during the transition from the rest position to the actuated position, the brake cable C is supported by and wound around the circular support 36 . The guide axis Z remains tangential to the circle C1 and therefore to said circular support 36 .
[0142] When the pivoting body 24 is in the actuated position, the guide axis Z no longer passes through the housing 30. The brake cable C then has a straight portion in the brake device 10 extending between the guide member 40 and the entrance of the groove 34, and a curved portion extending in the groove 34 and resting on the circular support 36.
[0143] The guide member 40 is configured such that when the pivoting body 24 is brought from the rest position into the actuated position, the guide axis Z remains substantially tangential to the circular support 36 and vice versa. The friction between the brake cable C and the pivoting body 24 is reduced, which facilitates braking.
[0144] Figure 8 , Fig. 9 and Fig.10 A second embodiment is shown by way of non-limiting example of a braking device 10' according to the invention. In this second embodiment, the upper surface 35 of the support 18 depicts a Figures 1 to 7 The first embodiment has a softer and less pronounced curvature, especially at the wings 19 , 21 . Furthermore, recesses are formed laterally in the support 18 and in the second portion 24 b of the pivoting body 24 .
