Abstract
Description
Female connector, electronic device and assembly method
[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of China on September 1, 2022, with application number 202211064415.6 and invention name “A female connector, electronic device and assembly method”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The embodiments of the present application relate to the field of connector technology, and in particular to a female connector, an electronic device, and an assembly method. Background Art
[0003] Currently, most electronic devices are equipped with female connectors, such as Type-A female connectors or Type-C female connectors and other different types of connectors. The main function of the female connector is to be able to connect to the male head of an external data cable to achieve charging, data transmission, sound signal transmission, etc.
[0004] Among various types of female connectors, Type-C type is widely used. Please refer to Figure 1, which is a structural diagram of a typical Type-C female connector in the prior art.
[0005] Currently, the Type-C female connector mainly includes a terminal block 01, a connection base 02, and a shielding cover 03. Terminal block 01 has an internal connection portion 012 and an external connection portion 011. The external connection portion 011 is used to connect to the male connector of the data cable, and the internal connection portion 012 is used for soldering to the circuit board. The connection base 02 is used to fix the terminal block 01 to the circuit board. When the Type-C female connector with this structure is soldered to the circuit board, it is difficult to locate the soldering connection position of the Type-C female connector and the circuit board, resulting in poor soldering quality and the occurrence of cold solder joints.
[0006] Therefore, how to solve at least one of the above technical defects is still a technical problem that needs to be solved urgently by those skilled in the art.
[0007] Summary of the Invention
[0008] The embodiments of the present application provide a female connector, an electronic device, and an assembly method. The female connector has a simple assembly process and relatively high welding quality.
[0009] In the first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a female connector for use in electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, PCs, computers or wearable devices to realize charging, data transmission and sound transmission of electronic devices. The female connector in the present application includes a terminal board, which has a first connection part for welding and connecting to the circuit board of the electronic device. The terminal board also has a second connection part for mating with the male connector. The first connection part and the second connection part are electrically connected and are respectively arranged at the two ends of the terminal board. The first connection part and the second connection part are both formed by conductors. The two are electrically connected through the internal circuit of the terminal board for data or signal communication between the external data line and the internal circuit board of the electronic device. The female connector also includes an auxiliary part, which is detachably connected to the terminal board. The end of the terminal board close to the second connection part can be supported on the circuit board by the auxiliary part. The auxiliary part can be a metal part, or of course a non-metallic part, such as a plastic part, etc. The auxiliary part can be connected to the terminal board by snapping.
[0010] In the present application, the end of the terminal board close to the second connection part can be supported on the circuit board by an auxiliary part, that is, the auxiliary part in the present application can support the end of the terminal board away from the first connection part. This can prevent the second connection part of the terminal board, which is heavier, from rotating downward to a certain extent, thereby suppressing the upward curling of the solder legs of the first connection part and the circuit board, avoiding the occurrence of cold solder joints between the first connection part and the circuit board, and improving the welding quality of the terminal board and the circuit board. In addition, the auxiliary part and the terminal board in the present application are detachably connected. After the terminal board and the circuit board are welded and fixed, the auxiliary part can be removed from the terminal board and then assembled with the shell. In this way, the space occupied by the female connector is relatively small, which is convenient for the flexible arrangement of other components inside the electronic device. In addition, the thickness of the female connector in the present application is also relatively small to meet the requirements of lightweight design of electronic equipment.
[0011] Based on the first aspect, the present application also provides a first implementation of the first aspect: the terminal block includes a conductor and an insulator forming an integral structure, the auxiliary member is detachably connected to the insulator, and the conductor is at least partially exposed outside the insulator to form a first connection portion and a second connection portion. The conductor can be made of metal, and the insulator can be made of plastic. The insulator and conductor can be integrally formed using an injection molding process. While facilitating the installation and fixation of the conductor, the injection molding process provides a strong bonding force and a highly reliable connection between the insulator and the conductor.
[0012] Of course, the connection method between the conductor and the insulator is not limited to the above-mentioned one-piece injection molding process. It can also be connected by various methods such as interference fit, bonding or screw connection, as long as the reliability of the connection between the two can be guaranteed.
[0013] Based on the first embodiment of the first aspect, the present application also provides a second embodiment of the first aspect: the auxiliary component and the insulator are connected by a snap-fit connection. The snap-fit connection structure is compact and occupies relatively little space. Of course, the connection method between the auxiliary component and the insulator is not limited to the above-mentioned snap-fit connection; bolts or locking pins and locking holes can also be used.
[0014] Based on any one of the first to second embodiments of the first aspect, the embodiment of the present application also provides a third embodiment of the first aspect: the auxiliary part includes a sleeve with an opening at least at one end, and when the sleeve is mounted on the terminal board from the opening, the second connection portion is at least partially located inside the annular circumferential wall of the sleeve. The sleeve can be provided with only one opening and the other end can be closed. In this way, before the female connector is assembled with the shell, the second connection portion can be located in a relatively closed space, which has a strong protection capability for the second connection portion. Of course, the sleeve can also have openings at both ends. When assembling the sleeve, there is no need to consider the length of the second connection portion, and the assembly freedom is relatively high. In addition, the sleeve has a simple structure and low material consumption, which can reduce the cost of use.
[0015] Based on the third embodiment of the first aspect, the present application also provides a fourth embodiment of the first aspect: the outer peripheral wall of the sleeve has at least two outwardly extending support walls, one located on either side of the sleeve, and the sleeve is supported on the circuit board by the support walls. The support walls can be arranged symmetrically about the vertical plane of the central axis of the sleeve to improve stable support capabilities. The support walls provided on the outer wall of the sleeve can be reasonably configured according to the layout of the circuit board. The support walls are arranged as far as possible away from the layout of components and circuits on the circuit board, thereby providing stable support while improving layout flexibility.
[0016] Based on the fourth embodiment of the first aspect, the present application also provides a fifth embodiment of the first aspect: the surface of the support wall facing the circuit board is provided with bumps, and the support wall is supported on the circuit board via the bumps. The contact surface between the bumps and the circuit board can be a plane, and the support wall contacts the circuit board via the bumps. Compared to large-area surface-to-surface contact, the bumps and the circuit board in this application are equivalent to point-to-surface contact, with a relatively small contact area, thereby reducing factors that affect support stability.
[0017] Based on any one of the first to fifth implementations of the first aspect, the present application also provides a sixth implementation of the first aspect: further comprising a shielding cover fixed to the insulator, the shielding cover being used to shield the first connection portion. This can prevent interference between the connection between the female connector and the circuit board and the operation of external components, thereby improving the reliability of the electronic device's operating performance.
[0018] Based on the sixth embodiment of the first aspect, the present application also provides a seventh embodiment of the first aspect: further comprising a metal mounting member fixed to the insulator, wherein the shielding cover is welded to the metal mounting member. The shielding cover is typically made of metal, and welding the metal material and the metal mounting member to each other provides high reliability.
[0019] Based on the seventh embodiment of the first aspect, the present application also provides an eighth embodiment of the first aspect: the metal mounting member is integrally formed with the insulator by an injection molding process. The injection molding process has a relatively high bonding capability between the metal mounting member and the insulator.
[0020] Of course, the shielding cover and the insulator are not limited to the above welding method, and can also be bonded or screwed or interference fit.
[0021] Based on the seventh or eighth implementation of the first aspect, the present application also provides a ninth implementation of the first aspect: the metal mounting member includes a support body extending outward from two sides of the insulator, and the two side walls of the shielding cover parallel to the insertion direction have bent edges, and the bent edges are welded to the support bodies on the corresponding sides. The contact area between the bent edges and the support bodies is relatively large, and the welding fixation is relatively reliable.
[0022] Based on the ninth embodiment of the first aspect, the present application also provides a tenth embodiment of the first aspect: the metal mounting member further includes a main body segment, the support body is connected to both ends of the main body segment, the main body segment is formed within the insulator, and the height of the main body segment is lower than the support body. The main body segment can be a simple straight segment, or a non-straight segment. The main body segment can be embedded deeper within the insulator to improve the fixing reliability of the two. The height of the support body can meet the installation requirements of the shielding cover.
[0023] Based on the tenth or ninth implementation manner of the first aspect, the embodiments of the present application further provide an eleventh implementation manner of the first aspect: the support body further comprises a first pin bent toward a side facing away from the shielding cover, for insertion into a circuit board of the electronic device. Accordingly, the circuit board is provided with a first socket, and the first pin is inserted and fixed within the first socket, thereby improving the bonding strength between the support body and the circuit board along the thickness direction.
[0024] Based on any of the sixth through eleventh implementations of the first aspect, the present application also provides a twelfth implementation of the first aspect: a second pin is provided locally on the sidewall of the shielding cover for insertion into a circuit board of the electronic device. In this example, the shielding cover and the circuit board are further engaged via the pins, restricting displacement of the shielding cover along the thickness direction and further improving the installation stability of the female connector and the circuit board.
[0025] Based on any one of the first to twelfth embodiments of the first aspect, the embodiment of the present application further provides a twelfth embodiment of the first aspect: further comprising a sealing ring, the sealing ring sealing sleeve being provided on the insulator, the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion being located on both sides of the sealing ring, and the sealing ring comprising an annular portion that is circumferentially sealed with the housing of the electronic device. The sealing ring may be an O-ring, the outer ring portion of the sealing ring may be embedded in the annular mounting groove of the housing, of course, an annular groove may be provided on the insulator, and the inner ring portion of the sealing ring may be embedded in the annular groove, thereby increasing the sealing performance between the sealing ring and the housing, and between the sealing ring and the insulator. Of course, the annular groove may not be provided on the insulator and the housing, and the sealing ring may be press-fitted between the housing and the insulator.
[0026] The sealing ring in the present application can isolate the installation space such as the first connection part and the circuit board from the external environment. Only the second connection part can be connected to the external environment through the plug-in hole of the shell. This can prevent the medium in the external environment from affecting the operation of other components inside the shell, thereby improving the overall working performance of the electronic device.
[0027] In the second aspect, an embodiment of the present application also provides an electronic device, comprising a shell and any one of the aforementioned female connectors, the female connector being installed inside the shell, the first connecting portion being welded to the circuit board of the electronic device, and a plug-in through hole being provided at a position corresponding to the shell and the second connecting portion.
[0028] Based on the second aspect, the embodiment of the present application also provides a first implementation of the second aspect: the shell also includes a cylindrical section extending circumferentially from the plug-in through hole toward the female connector, the second connecting part is located inside the cylindrical section, and the female connector and the cylindrical section are circumferentially sealed by a sealing ring.
[0029] Based on the first embodiment of the second aspect, the embodiment of the present application also provides a second embodiment of the second aspect: a radially extending boss portion is further provided on the inner wall of the open end of the cylindrical section close to the first connecting portion, for limiting the insertion position of the male connector, and the second connecting portion is located outside the boss portion.
[0030] The barrel section and the sealing ring can completely isolate the external environment from the space where the circuit board is located, and the terminal board can be supported on the barrel section through the sealing ring, further improving the supporting capacity of the end portion where the second connecting portion of the terminal board is located, so as to improve the use strength of the electronic equipment. Furthermore, the second connecting portion and the external male connector are plug-connected in the barrel section. By setting the inner diameter of the barrel section, the barrel section can, to a certain extent, guide the installation of the working connector, which is conducive to the accurate docking of the male connector and the female connector, and improves the installation accuracy. In addition, the barrel section can also play an auxiliary supporting role for the male connector to avoid vibration or shaking when the male connector is inserted.
[0031] Based on the second embodiment of the second aspect, the present application also provides a third embodiment of the second aspect: the boss portion is an annular boss, and the sealing ring is press-fitted between the annular boss and the female connector. The annular boss has a simple structure and can cooperate with the sealing ring to form a reliable sealing structure.
[0032] In a third aspect, the present application further provides an assembly method for an electronic device, including any of the above female connectors, the assembly method comprising the following:
[0033] Pre-install the auxiliary component on the terminal board, support the end of the terminal board away from the first connecting portion on the circuit board through the auxiliary component so that the solder legs of the first connecting portion of the terminal board contact the corresponding position of the circuit board, and weld the solder legs of the first connecting portion of the terminal board to the circuit board;
[0034] The auxiliary parts are removed from the terminal board, and the welded assembly formed by the terminal board and the circuit board is assembled with the housing of the electronic equipment.
[0035] The assembly method of the present application is based on the above-mentioned female connector, and the electronic device includes the above-mentioned female connector, so the assembly method and the electronic device also have the above-mentioned technical effects of the female connector. [0055] In response to the phenomenon in the background technology that the welding quality of the female connector is not high when assembled and welded on the circuit board, this application conducted a study. The study found that the center of gravity of the female connector shown in Figure 1 is located before the support point of the solder leg of the inner connection part, and a seesaw mode is formed after assembly with the circuit board. One side of the outer connection part sinks, so during welding, the solder leg of the inner connection part will still bend up, resulting in poor solder joints, which in turn affects the charging and data transmission functions.
[0056] In addition, it can be seen from Figure 1 that the dimension occupied by the connecting seat in the direction perpendicular to the length of the terminal board is relatively large. When the electronic device has a large number of antenna devices arranged in the female connector, the connecting seat is prone to stacking interference with the antenna devices, affecting the installation of the female connecting seat.
[0057] Based on the above research findings, the present application further explored and conducted a large number of experiments to propose a technical solution that can effectively solve the above technical problems.
[0058] In order to enable those skilled in the art to better understand the technical solution of the present application, the present application is further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.
[0059] Please refer to FIG2 , which is a schematic structural diagram of a specific implementation of an electronic device provided in an embodiment of the present application.
[0060] The electronic device 100 of the present application may include a mobile phone, a computer (such as a personal digital assistant, tablet computer, laptop computer, etc.), a smart watch, a smart bracelet, a PAD, etc. The embodiments of the present application do not impose any particular restrictions on the specific form of the electronic device 100. For ease of understanding, the following description takes the electronic device 100 as an example of a mobile phone.
[0061] As shown in Figure 2, electronic device 100 generally includes a housing 102 and a display screen 101. Housing 102 may have a housing cavity formed therein, and various components of electronic device 100 may be arranged in the housing cavity. Specific components may include a battery, circuit board, camera assembly, etc. The arrangement and installation method of these components are not limited herein.
[0062] The main functions of the housing 102 are generally two-fold: one is protection, where the housing 102 acts as an external frame to protect the electronic device 100; the other is to provide a mounting base, where other components can be directly or indirectly mounted on the housing 102 to form an integral mounting structure. The display screen 101 can be mounted on the housing 102. In some embodiments, the housing 102 may include a middle frame and a back cover, and the aforementioned display screen 101 can be fixedly mounted on the middle frame. The material of the housing 102 is not limited herein, and in practice, those skilled in the art can select it according to actual needs; for example, it can be made of metal, plastic, ceramic, or glass.
[0063] Display screen 101 may be an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display or a liquid crystal display. Display screen 101 may be a flexible display or a rigid display. Flexible displays may be foldable, enabling operations such as folding electronic device 100 in conjunction with the structural design of housing 102. Display screen 101 may be a regular regular screen or a special-shaped screen. For example, the outer edge of display screen 101 may be curved to form a curved screen.
[0064] The display screen 101 can be provided on the front or back of the electronic device 100, or can be provided on both the front and back of the electronic device 100. The front of the electronic device 100 can be understood as the side facing the user when the user uses the electronic device 100, that is, the side marked with reference numeral 101 as shown in FIG2 , and the back of the electronic device 100 can be understood as the side facing away from the user when the user uses the electronic device 100.
[0065] Taking the front of the electronic device 100 as an example, in terms of the layout range, the display screen 101 can cover all areas of the front of the electronic device 100, that is, a full-screen electronic device 100 can be formed. At this time, the display screen 101 not only has a display function, but also usually has a touch function, that is, the electronic device 100 can be operated by clicking the display screen 101; alternatively, the display screen 101 can also only cover a local area on the front of the electronic device 100, which is also an option that can be adopted in specific practice. At this time, the display screen 101 can have a touch function or only have a display function. It can be understood that when it only has a display function, the area of the shell 102 where the display screen 101 is not set can be configured with corresponding human-machine operating components such as buttons to operate the electronic device 100. These human-machine operating components can be set at any position such as the front, back or side of the electronic device 100.
[0066] The direction perpendicular to the plane of the display screen 101 is the normal direction of the display screen 101. The dimensions of the electronic device 100 and its components in the normal direction can be referred to as the thickness. Accordingly, the normal direction can also be referred to as the thickness direction. Currently, with the continuous improvement of user demand, the lightweight and thin design of the electronic device 100 has gradually become a trend in the industry. This lightweight and thin design requires that the thickness of each component in the electronic device 100 be as small as possible to reduce the thickness of the final electronic device 100.
[0067] The electronic device 100 is equipped with a female connector, and the shell 102 is also provided with an insertion hole 103, through which the external male connector can be inserted to connect with the female connector, thereby realizing data transmission, power transmission (charging the electronic device 100) and sound signal transmission, etc.
[0068] This application provides a female connector, which can be a Type-C female connector, but can also be a Type-A female connector, a Type-B female connector, or other types of connectors. The following text uses the Type-C female connector as an example to further describe the technical solution and technical effects.
[0069] Please refer to Figures 3 to 5, Figure 3 is an exploded view of the device body of the female connector provided in the embodiment of the present application; Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of the assembly of the female connector shown in Figure 3 and the circuit board; Figure 5 is a side view of the structure shown in Figure 4.
[0070] In one example, the female connector 106 of the present application includes a terminal board, an auxiliary part 4 , a sealing ring 5 and a shielding cover 2 .
[0071] The terminal block in this application includes a terminal assembly and an insulator 10. The terminal assembly is a conductor, which is usually a metal part, and the insulator 10 can be a plastic part. The terminal assembly and the insulator 10 can be formed into a whole by injection molding. This has a strong bonding force between the two, a high connection reliability, and a relatively simple molding method. The insulator 10 mainly provides a foundation for the installation of the terminal assembly. At the same time, the terminal block is insulated from other surrounding components through the insulator 10.
[0072] Of course, the connection method between the terminal assembly and the insulator 10 in the terminal block of this application is not limited to the above description, as long as the connection reliability between the two can be guaranteed. For example, the terminal assembly and the insulator 10 can be fixed with an adhesive; or the terminal assembly and the insulator 10 can also be connected by interference fit, welding, etc.
[0073] The terminal assembly has a first connection portion 11 and a second connection portion 12 exposed outside the insulator 10. The first connection portion 11 and the second connection portion 12 are respectively arranged at the two ends of the terminal board. In other words, the first connection portion 11 and the second connection portion 12 are also conductors. The first connection portion 11 is used for welding and connecting to the circuit board of the electronic device. Specifically, the solder legs of the first connection portion 11 are welded to the circuit board in a one-to-one correspondence. The second connection portion 12 is used for plugging and unplugging with the male connector 105 outside the electronic device. The specific arrangement of the first connection portion 11 and the second connection portion 12 can be determined according to the specific product and is not further limited in this article.
[0074] In the present application, the auxiliary component 4 is detachably connected to the terminal board, that is, the terminal board is provided with a first detachable structure, and the auxiliary component 4 is provided with a second detachable structure, and the first detachable structure can cooperate with the second detachable structure to enable the auxiliary component 4 to be installed on the terminal board or removed from the terminal board. In one example, the auxiliary component 4 is connected to the terminal board by a snap-fit connection, that is, one of the first detachable structure and the second detachable structure is a slot, and the other is a block that can slide in or out of the slot. Please refer to Figure 3 for understanding, which shows a specific example of a slot 13 provided on the terminal board. The left and right side walls of the terminal board extending along the plug-in direction are both provided with a slot 13. Correspondingly, a block (not shown in the figure) that snaps in with the slot is provided on the auxiliary component 4. Those skilled in the art should understand that it is also possible to provide a slot on the auxiliary component 4 and a block on the terminal board. The combination of the slot and the block takes up little space. Of course, the detachable manner of the terminal board and the auxiliary component 4 is not limited to the above-mentioned slot and block form, and can also be other forms, such as locking pins, bolts or locking nails.
[0075] In the present application, the end of the terminal board 1 close to the second connection part 12 can be supported on the circuit board 104 by the auxiliary part 4, that is, the auxiliary part 4 in the present application can support the end of the terminal board away from the first connection part 11, so that to a certain extent, the second connection part 12 of the terminal board, which is relatively heavy, can be prevented from rotating downward, thereby suppressing the upward curling of the solder pins of the first connection part 11 and the circuit board, avoiding the occurrence of cold solder joints between the first connection part 11 and the circuit board, and improving the welding quality of the terminal board and the circuit board. In addition, the auxiliary part 4 and the terminal board in the present application are detachably connected. After the terminal board and the circuit board are welded and fixed, the auxiliary part 4 can be removed from the terminal board and then assembled with the shell 102. In this way, the space occupied by the female connector 106 is relatively small, which is convenient for the flexible arrangement of other components inside the electronic device. In addition, the thickness of the female connector 106 of the present application is also relatively small to meet the requirements of lightweight design of electronic equipment.
[0076] Theoretically, when the terminal block is horizontal, the solder legs of the first connection portion 11 are in contact with the circuit board. Of course, considering factors such as assembly errors, the second connection portion 12 of the terminal block can be roughly horizontal after being supported on the circuit board by the auxiliary member 4, and a certain error is allowed.
[0077] As described above, the terminal 1 comprises an integral conductor and insulator 10, with the auxiliary member 4 being detachably connected to the insulator. The auxiliary member 4 is connected to the insulator without contacting the conductor, thus preventing damage to the conductor and ensuring the performance of the female connector 106. Furthermore, the structure for cooperating with the auxiliary member 4 for removal is relatively simple to fabricate on the insulator.
[0078] Please refer to Figures 3 and 4 again. In this application, the auxiliary part 4 is a sleeve with an open end at least, that is, the sleeve can be a hollow cylinder with an open end only. Of course, the sleeve can be a hollow cylinder with openings at both ends. The drawings of this application show a specific embodiment of the latter. When the female connector 106 is processed and not assembled with the circuit board, the sleeve is disposed outside the second connection part 12 of the terminal board. Of course, the second connection part 12 can be partially or completely located inside the sleeve. The optimal state is that the second connection part 12 is completely located inside the sleeve. In this way, the sleeve can protect the second connection part 12 and avoid damage or contamination of the second connection part 12 during transportation or patching, which may cause poor contact of the device, thereby ensuring the overall performance of the electronic device. When the female connector 106 is installed with the circuit board, the sleeve can cooperate with the circuit board to support the solder feet of the first connection part 11 of the terminal board to contact the circuit board.
[0079] The sleeve can fully protect the second connecting portion 12, and the hollow structure is light in weight.
[0080] Compared with a sleeve with both ends open, the length of the second connecting portion 12 needs to be considered when installing a sleeve with one end open.
[0081] The sleeve and the circuit board 104 can be supported and matched in a variety of ways. In one specific embodiment, the outer peripheral wall of the sleeve has at least two outwardly extending support walls, one on each side of the sleeve, and the other roughly parallel to the circuit board. The sleeve is supported on the circuit board by the support walls. The extended length of the support walls can be determined according to the specific application environment. The sleeve of the present application is supported and matched with the circuit board by the support walls, and during processing, only the machining accuracy of the support walls needs to be considered. Moreover, the support walls are provided on both sides of the sleeve, and the support stability on both sides is relatively high.
[0082] Circuits or other components are usually provided on the surface of the circuit board. In order to maximize the support stability, the present application further improves the support wall as follows.
[0083] Please refer to Figure 5 again. The surface of the support wall of this application facing the circuit board is also provided with a bump 411. The support wall cooperates with the circuit board through the bump 411 to support the circuit board. The contact surface between the bump 411 and the circuit board can be flat, so as to minimize the wear of the bump 411 on the circuit board.
[0084] 7 , in this application, a notch 104c is provided at the position of the circuit board 104 relative to the second connecting portion 12, and the portion of the sleeve along the thickness direction is located inside the notch 104c. This can optimize the arrangement of the sleeve and the circuit board and fully utilize the internal space of the housing.
[0085] Please refer to Figures 6 and 7 to understand that the female connector 106 of the present application also includes a shielding cover 2, which is mainly used to shield the first connecting portion 11 to play the role of electromagnetic shielding. The shielding cover 2 is usually a metal material component. The shape of the shielding cover 2 is mainly determined by the specific structure of the circuit board and the terminal board. The shielding cover 2 in the present application has a top wall and three side walls connected to the top wall to form two openings facing the circuit board side and the first connecting portion 11 side. Of course, the structure of the shielding cover 2 is not limited to the description herein. The shielding cover 2 of the present application is fixed to the terminal board. Of course, the shielding cover 2 is fixed to the non-terminal component position of the terminal board.
[0086] In the present application, the shielding cover 2 can be pre-assembled with the terminal board to form a whole, and then assembled together with the circuit board 104, which facilitates improving the equipment efficiency of the electronic device.
[0087] Please refer to Figure 8. In the present application, a metal mounting part 3 is fixed in the insulation of the female connector 106, and the shielding cover 2 is fixedly connected to the metal mounting part 3 by welding, wherein the metal mounting part 3 can be fixed to the insulator 10 by an injection molding process. For example, when the insulator 10 is injection molded, the conductor and the metal mounting part 3 can be fixed at the same time. Of course, it can also be fixed by injection molding in two parts. The conductor is first injection molded with part of the insulator 10 to form a first terminal board, and then the first terminal board is formed into one piece with the metal mounting part 3 by an injection molding process.
[0088] The metal mounting member 3 is fixed to the terminal board by injection molding, which is a relatively firm fixation method.
[0089] Of course, the fixing of the shielding cover 2 and the terminal board is not limited to the above-mentioned welding, and can also be fixed by riveting, screw connection, interference fit, injection molding or other fixing methods.
[0090] The closer the metal mounting part 3 is to the upper surface of the insulator 10, the worse its fixing performance is. In order to improve the fixing reliability of the metal mounting part 3, the metal mounting part 3 in the present application includes a main body section 32 and a support body 33 located at different heights. The position of the support body 33 is higher than the main body section 32. The main body section 32 can be embedded in a deeper position inside the insulator 10 to improve the fixing reliability of the two. The height of the support body 33 can meet the installation requirements of the shielding cover 2.
[0091] In order to improve the bonding ability between the main body section 32 and the insulator 10 , a through hole 32 a may be further provided on the main body section 32 .
[0092] Please understand in conjunction with Figures 7 and 8 that the support body 33 is also provided with a first pin 31 bent downward, that is, the support body 33 has a first pin 31 bent toward the side away from the shielding cover 2, and the first pin 31 is used to be inserted into the circuit board. Specifically, a first socket 104b is provided on the circuit board, and the first pin 31 is plugged and fixed in the first socket 104b to improve the coupling ability between the female connector 106 and the circuit board.
[0093] 7 also shows a welding area 1041 on the circuit board for butt welding with the solder legs of the first connection portion 11 , and welding pieces corresponding to the solder legs are provided inside the welding area 1041 .
[0094] The shielding cover 2 of the present application has two side walls with bent edges 21, which are welded to the support body on the corresponding side. The bent edges 21 and the support body are in surface contact, resulting in a relatively large contact area, which helps improve welding reliability. The shielding cover 2 and the support body can be fixed by laser welding, of course, other welding methods can also be used.
[0095] In this application, a second pin 22 is also provided at a local position on the side wall of the shielding cover 2. The second pin 22 is used to be inserted into the circuit board of the electronic device. Please refer to Figure 8 again. The circuit board is provided with a second socket 104a, and the second pin 22 is inserted into the interior of the second socket 104a. In this example, the plug-and-fix connection between the shielding cover 2 and the circuit board can further improve the fixed connection between the female connector 106 and the circuit board.
[0096] Please refer to Figures 3, 6, 12 and 13. The female connector 106 in this application is also provided with a sealing ring 5. The sealing ring 5 is sealed on the insulator 10, and the two are circumferentially sealed. The sealing ring 5 is mainly used for circumferential sealing between the insulator 10 and the shell 102. The sealing ring 5 also includes an annular portion that is circumferentially sealed with the shell 102. The annular portion and the shell 102 can be embedded and sealed, that is, the annular portion is partially located inside the annular sealing groove of the shell 102. Of course, the annular portion and the shell 102 can also be directly sealed by press-fitting. The first connecting portion 11 and the second connecting portion 12 are located on both sides of the sealing ring 5, and the second connecting portion 12 is located on the side of the shell 102 close to the insertion through hole. For electronic devices with a middle frame in the shell 102, the sealing ring 5 is circumferentially sealed with the middle frame.
[0097] In the present application, a sealing ring 5 is provided between the terminal board and the housing 102 to prevent external media (especially liquid) from entering the circuit board area, thereby improving the waterproof performance of the electronic device.
[0098] Please refer to Figure 12 again. In one example, the housing 102 includes a barrel section 1021 that extends circumferentially from the insertion through hole toward the female connector 106. The second connecting portion 12 is located inside the barrel section 1021. The sealing ring 5 is disposed between the female connector 106 and the barrel section 1021. In other words, the female connector 106 and the barrel section 1021 are circumferentially sealed by the sealing ring 5. In this example, the barrel section 1021 and the sealing ring 5 can completely isolate the external environment from the space where the circuit board is located, and the terminal board can be supported on the barrel section 1021 through the sealing ring 5, further improving the support capacity of the end of the terminal board where the second connecting portion 12 is located, thereby improving the usability of the electronic device. Furthermore, the second connecting portion 12 and the external male connector 105 are plugged into the barrel section 1021. By setting the inner diameter of the barrel section 1021, the barrel section 1021 can, to a certain extent, serve as a guide for the installation of the working connector, which is beneficial for the accurate docking of the male connector 105 and the female connector 106, thereby improving the installation accuracy. In addition, the barrel section 1021 can also serve as an auxiliary support for the male connector 105, thereby preventing the male connector 105 from vibrating or shaking when inserted.
[0099] As described above, a notch is provided at a local position of the circuit board facing the insertion through hole, the cylindrical section 1021 is located inside the notch, and the second connecting portion 12 extends into the notch. In this example, the cylindrical section 1021 only occupies the area where the notch of the circuit board is located, which can minimize the occupation of the internal space of the shell 102, which is conducive to the arrangement of the circuit board in the shell 102.
[0100] To prevent impact forces on the female connector 106 when the male connector 105 is inserted into the female connector 106, a boss portion 1022 is provided on the inner wall of the open end of the barrel section 1021 near the first connecting portion 11. This boss portion 1022 is used to limit the insertion position of the male connector 105. The second connecting portion 12 is located outside the boss portion 1022. The boss portion 1022 can limit the maximum insertion position of the male connector 105, preventing damage to the female connector 106 and the circuit board caused by excessive insertion, thereby improving the safety of electronic equipment.
[0101] In this application, the boss portion is an annular boss, and the sealing ring 5 is press-fitted between the annular boss and the female connector 106. This method can achieve 360-degree sealing, and the sealing effect is relatively good.
[0102] Please refer to Figure 14, and in combination with Figures 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 above, the present application also provides an assembly method for an electronic device. The assembly method is mainly based on the female connector 106 described above in the present application, and the assembly method includes the following contents:
[0103] S1. Pre-install the auxiliary component 4 on the terminal board;
[0104] S2. The terminal block is supported on the circuit board by the auxiliary member 4 (as shown in FIG4 ), so that the solder legs of the first connecting portion 11 of the terminal block contact corresponding positions of the circuit board, and the solder legs of the first connecting portion 11 of the terminal block are connected to the circuit board by welding.
[0105] The shielding cover 2 of the female connector 106 may be fixed to the terminal board to form a whole before step S2, or may be fixedly connected to the circuit board or / and the terminal board in step S2;
[0106] Similarly, the female connector 106 is provided with the sealing ring 5 mentioned above, and the sealing ring 5 can be positioned and connected with the terminal board before step S2.
[0107] S3. Remove the auxiliary part 4 (shown in Figure 9) from the terminal board, and assemble the welding assembly of the terminal board and the circuit board with the shell 102. Please refer to Figures 10 and 11, where Figure 10 is before the assembly of the female connector 106 and the shell 102, and Figure 11 is a schematic diagram after the two are assembled.
[0108] The assembly method herein only provides the main assembly steps of the female connector 106 , the circuit board, and the housing 102 .
