[0054] X,Y,Z,A,A': Direction Detailed Implementation

[0055] The foregoing and other technical contents, features, and effects of the present invention will be clearly presented in the following detailed description of preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. To make the content of the present invention clearer and easier to understand, the following drawings are simplified schematic diagrams, and the elements therein may not be drawn to scale. Furthermore, the number and size of the elements in the drawings are merely illustrative and not intended to limit the present invention. Directional terms mentioned in the following embodiments, such as up, down, left, right, front, back, bottom, and top, are only for reference to the accompanying drawings. Therefore, the directional terms used are for illustrative purposes and not for limiting the present invention. In addition, in the following embodiments, the same or similar elements will be referred to by the same or similar reference numerals.

[0056] The following description of "the first feature is formed on or above the second feature" can refer to either "the first feature and the second feature are in direct contact" or "there are other features between the first feature and the second feature," which would prevent the first feature and the second feature from being in direct contact.

[0057] This invention uses terms such as "first," "second," etc., to describe elements, regions, layers, and / or sections. However, it should be understood that these terms are only used to distinguish one element, region, layer, and / or section from another, and do not inherently imply or represent any prior ordinal number of the element, nor do they represent the arrangement order of one element with another, or the order of manufacturing methods. Therefore, without departing from the scope of the specific embodiments of this invention, the first element, region, layer, and / or section discussed below may also be referred to as the second element, region, layer, and / or section. The terms used in the claims may not be the same as those in the specification, but may be replaced by first, second, third… according to the order of the elements declared in the claims.

[0058] In this invention, any two values or features (e.g., shape) used for comparison are "substantially" the same, which may mean that there may be an error or difference between the two values or features used for comparison. For example, there may be an error or difference of less than 10% between two values or two features (when quantifiable), or the difference may be caused by the tolerances of different components and / or assembly gaps.

[0059] In this invention, for ease of explanation, some of the accompanying drawings are used in conjunction with the XYZ rectangular coordinate system for description. In the following description, the first direction is parallel to direction Z, the second direction is parallel to direction X, and the third direction is parallel to direction Y, as examples. The second direction and the third direction may lie in the same plane (exemplified here as parallel to the XY plane), and the second direction and the third direction may be perpendicular to each other, while the first direction may be parallel to the normal direction of the plane.

[0060] Please refer to Figures 1 to 5 , Figure 1This is a schematic diagram of the appearance of an electronic device 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 yes Figure 1 A plan view of the electronic device 10. Figure 3 yes Figure 1 An exploded view of the electronic device 10. Figure 4 yes Figure 1 A schematic diagram showing the separate extraction of an electronic module 200A from the housing 100 of the self-contained electronic device 10. Figure 5 yes Figure 2 A cross-sectional view of the electronic device 10 along section line A-A'. The electronic device 10 includes a housing 100 and two electronic modules 200A and 200B. The housing 100 has an accommodating space 130. Figure 5 As shown, the accommodating space 130 has a first cross-sectional shape 131 perpendicular to a first direction (the first direction is parallel to direction Z). Two electronic modules 200A and 200B are disposed in the accommodating space 130, wherein each electronic module 200A and 200B has a concave-convex surface 201. The concave-convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B are arranged opposite to each other and cooperate with each other, so that the two electronic modules 200A and 200B together form a second cross-sectional shape 204 perpendicular to the first direction. Figure 5 In the diagram, the second cross-sectional shape 204 is the shape enclosed by the dashed line, and the second cross-sectional shape 204 matches the first cross-sectional shape 131. Thus, from the perspective of the first direction, the outline of the combination of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B (i.e., the outline of the second cross-sectional shape 204) matches the shape of the accommodating space 130 (i.e., the first cross-sectional shape 131), which is beneficial for making full use of the accommodating space 130 of the housing 100 and thus improving the space utilization rate of the electronic device 10.

[0061] In detail, such as Figure 3 As shown, the housing 100 may optionally include a first housing portion 110, a second housing portion 120, and a power supply socket 140. The first housing portion 110 may include at least one heat dissipation hole 111, at least one mounting hole 112, and two support portions 113. The second housing portion 120 may include at least one heat dissipation hole 121 and at least one mounting hole 122. The first housing portion 110 and the second housing portion 120 may be assembled together to define an accommodating space 130 between the first housing portion 110 and the second housing portion 120. The support portion 113 is located at one end of the housing 100 (here, the lower end), and the support portion 113 may have a flat outer surface, thereby facilitating the vertical placement of the electronic device 10 via the support portion 113, where vertical placement may refer to the opening of the housing 100 facing upwards.

[0062] The power supply socket 140 is disposed below the accommodating space 130. The power supply socket 140 may include circuit elements (not shown) such as busbars, conductive terminals, etc., which are electrically connected to the electronic modules 200A and 200B, so that the electronic modules 200A and 200B can be electrically connected to each other or to an external power unit (not shown) or other electronic units (not shown).

[0063] like Figure 4 As shown, each electronic module 200A, 200B is detachably mounted in the accommodating space 130 along the first direction. The electronic device 10 may further include a separator 150. The separator 150 is fixed to the housing 100 and disposed between the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A, 200B. Through the separator 150, the accommodating space 130 can be further divided into two sub-spaces (not otherwise labeled) for accommodating electronic modules 200A and 200B respectively, allowing electronic modules 200A and 200B to be moved into or out of the accommodating space 130 independently. This simplifies the maintenance process for electronic modules 200A and 200B. For more information on this part, please refer to [reference needed]. Figure 8 Related explanations.

[0064] Figure 3 In the middle, the separator 150 may include a first sheet 151, a second sheet 152 and a third sheet 153 connected in sequence, wherein the first sheet 151 and the third sheet 153 correspond to the protrusion 202 and the concave portion 203 of the uneven surface 201 of one of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, respectively, and the first sheet 151 and the third sheet 153 are bent relative to the second sheet 152. The first piece 151 corresponds to the recess 203 of electronic unit 200A and the protrusion 202 of electronic unit 200B, and the third piece 153 corresponds to the protrusion 202 of electronic unit 200A and the recess 203 of electronic unit 200B. Thus, the shape of the separator 150 is adapted to bend the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, which facilitates the interlocking of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B through the separator 150, thereby fully utilizing the accommodating space 130 of the housing 100. The separator 150 may include at least one mounting portion 156 corresponding to the mounting hole 112 of the first housing portion 110 and at least another mounting portion 158 corresponding to the mounting hole 122 of the second housing portion 120. Thus, the mounting portions 156 and 158 can be respectively embedded into the mounting holes 112 and 122, thereby fixing the separator 150 to the housing 100. It should be noted that, for ease of explanation, the proportion of the separator 150 in the accompanying drawings of this specification is exaggerated relative to the two electronic modules 200A and 200B. This invention does not limit the size of the separator 150 to the proportions shown in the drawings.

[0065] The partition 150 may further include a hanging portion 154 extending outside the accommodating space 130. The hanging portion 154 may have a hanging hole 155. By providing the hanging portion 154, a point of force can be provided for hanging and clamping the electronic device 10, which is beneficial for maintenance personnel to move the electronic device 10 through the hanging portion 154.

[0066] Electronic module 200A and electronic module 200B can be two identical electronic modules, which can have the same design and component layout. For ease of explanation, different component symbols are given to them here. Each electronic module 200A and 200B includes a first electronic component 210 and a second electronic component 220, which respectively correspond to the protrusion 202 and the recess 203 of the uneven surface 201.

[0067] For example, electronic device 10 can be a server, and first electronic component 210 and second electronic component 220 can be components of the server. For instance, first electronic component 210 can be a graphics processing board, which may include a circuit board and a graphics processing unit (GPU) mounted thereon. Second electronic component 220 can be a server motherboard, which may include a circuit board and electronic components mounted thereon, such as a central processing unit (CPU), memory, Ethernet port, fan or hard disk drive, and / or other components typical of a computer. This allows electronic modules 200A and 200B, including first electronic component 210 and second electronic component 220, to perform the functions of a computer. Therefore, each electronic module 200A and 200B can be considered as a computer, and each electronic module 200A and 200B can also be called a node. Nodes can communicate with each other through one or more buses, computer networks, or other computer communication methods.

[0068] Each electronic module 200A and 200B may further include a hanging part 206 extending outside the accommodating space 130. The hanging part 206 may have a hanging hole 207. By providing the hanging part 206, a force application point can be provided for hanging and clamping the electronic modules 200A and 200B, which is beneficial for maintenance personnel to move the electronic modules 200A and 200B through the hanging part 206.

[0069] Figure 5In this configuration, the first electronic component 210 has a cross-sectional shape 211 perpendicular to the first direction, the second electronic component 220 has a cross-sectional shape 221 perpendicular to the first direction, the electronic module 200A has a third cross-sectional shape 205A perpendicular to the first direction, and the electronic module 200B has a third cross-sectional shape 205B perpendicular to the first direction. Cross-sectional shape 211 is L-shaped and asymmetrical, while cross-sectional shape 221 is rectangular and symmetrical. The third cross-sectional shapes 205A and 205B are identical and asymmetrical. In other words, at least one of the first electronic component 210 and the second electronic component 220 has an asymmetrical shape, and the electronic modules 200A and 200B formed by combining the first electronic component 210 and the second electronic component 220 also have asymmetrical shapes. It should be noted that although the third cross-sectional shapes 205A and 205B of the electronic modules 200A and 200B have asymmetrical shapes, if... Figure 5 As shown, the third cross-sectional shape 205A (electronic module 200A) and the third cross-sectional shape 205B (electronic module 200B) are point-symmetric with respect to a center point CP, or point-reflected.

[0070] like Figure 5 As shown, the accommodating space 130 has a first cross-sectional shape 131, and the two electronic modules 200A and 200B together form a second cross-sectional shape 204, which matches the first cross-sectional shape 131. The aforementioned center point CP can be, for example, the center point of the first cross-sectional shape 131. The aforementioned "second cross-sectional shape 204" can refer to the shape defined by the contours of the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B after they are arranged opposite each other and fit together. The aforementioned "the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B fit together" can mean that the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B can be fitted together. The aforementioned fitting can be a direct fitting (i.e., no other components are provided between the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B) or an indirect fitting (i.e., other components (hereinafter referred to as intermediate components) are provided between the concave and convex surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B).

[0071] When no intermediate element is provided between the uneven surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, the second cross-sectional shape 204 can be defined as being composed of the third cross-sectional shape 205A and the third cross-sectional shape 205B. When an intermediate element, such as a separator 150, is provided between the uneven surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, the second cross-sectional shape 204 can be defined as being composed of the third cross-sectional shape 205A, at least a portion of the cross-sectional shape of the intermediate element perpendicular to the first direction, and the third cross-sectional shape 205B. The aforementioned "at least a portion of the cross-sectional shape of the intermediate element perpendicular to the first direction" can refer to the cross-sectional shape of the portion of the intermediate element falling within the outer boundaries of the third cross-sectional shapes 205A and 205B, for example... Figure 5 The middle separator 150 is located within the area of the dashed line. In some embodiments, when an intermediate element is provided between the uneven surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, the second cross-sectional shape 204 can also be defined as being composed only of the third cross-sectional shape 205A and the third cross-sectional shape 205B. For example, when the thickness of the intermediate element is very thin, the influence of the intermediate element can be ignored.

[0072] The aforementioned phrase "the second cross-sectional shape 204 matches the first cross-sectional shape 131" can mean that the second cross-sectional shape 204 matches the first cross-sectional shape 131 in shape and / or in area, and preferably, the second cross-sectional shape 204 matches the first cross-sectional shape 131 in both shape and area. Matching in shape can mean that the second cross-sectional shape 204 and the first cross-sectional shape 131 have substantially similar shapes. Figure 5 For example, the second cross-sectional shape 204 is a rectangle, the first cross-sectional shape 131 is a rectangle, and the second cross-sectional shape 204 and the first cross-sectional shape 131 are similar rectangles, but not limited to this. The second cross-sectional shape 204 and the first cross-sectional shape 131 can be configured as other geometric shapes according to actual needs, such as ellipse, square, etc.

[0073] Matching in area can mean that the area of the second cross-sectional shape 204 is substantially the same as the area of the first cross-sectional shape 131, or the area of the second cross-sectional shape 204 is slightly smaller than the area of the first cross-sectional shape 131, so that the second cross-sectional shape 204 can almost fill the first cross-sectional shape 131, while allowing the two electronic modules 200A and 200B to be installed in the housing 100 in a removable or detachable manner, without the two electronic modules 200A and 200B being tightly fitted to the housing 100 and unable to be freely removed because the area of the second cross-sectional shape 204 is slightly larger than or exactly equal to the area of the first cross-sectional shape 131.

[0074] Figure 5In this embodiment, the housing 100 has a first length L01 in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction (exemplified here as direction X), and the first cross-sectional shape 131 (or accommodating space 130) has a first accommodating length L11 in the second direction. The first length L01 is greater than the first accommodating length L11. Each electronic module 200A and 200B has a first length L20 in the second direction, corresponding to the protrusion 202 of the uneven surface 201. Each electronic module 200A and 200B has a second length L21 in the second direction, corresponding to the recess 203 of the uneven surface 201. The first length L20 may be greater than the second length L21. Furthermore, the first length L20 may be greater than half of the first accommodating length L11, and the first length L20 may be less than the first accommodating length L11. The second length L21 can be greater than 0 and less than half of the first accommodating length L11, and the sum of the first length L20 and the second length L21 can match the first accommodating length L11. The aforementioned phrase "the sum of the first length L20 and the second length L21 can match the first accommodating length L11" can mean that when no intermediate element is provided between the uneven surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, the sum of the first length L20 and the second length L21 can be substantially the same as the first accommodating length L11. When an intermediate element is provided between the uneven surfaces 201 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B, the sum of the first length L20, the length of the portion of the intermediate element located between the two electronic modules 200A and 200B in the first direction, and the second length L21 can be substantially the same as the first accommodating length L11.

[0075] The housing 100 has a second length L02 in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction (exemplified here as direction Y), and the first cross-sectional shape 131 (or accommodating space 130) has a second accommodating length L12 in the third direction, wherein the second length L02 is greater than the second accommodating length L12. Each electronic module 200A, 200B has a third length L22 in the third direction, and the third length L22 matches the second accommodating length L12. The aforementioned "the third length L22 matches the second accommodating length L12" may mean that the third length L22 and the second accommodating length L12 are substantially the same. According to one embodiment of the invention, the length L02 of the housing 100 in the third direction may be equal to two rack units (U).

[0076] The first electronic component 210's first length L31 in the second direction can be equal to the first length L20, and the second electronic component 220's first length L41 in the second direction can be less than the first length L20. In this case, the maximum length of electronic modules 200A and 200B in the second direction (i.e., the first length L20) is defined by the first electronic component 210. The first electronic component 210's second length L32 in the third direction can be equal to the third length L22, and the second electronic component 220's second length L42 in the third direction can be less than the third length L22. In this case, the maximum length of electronic modules 200A and 200B in the third direction (i.e., the third length L22) is defined by the first electronic component 210. In other words, from the perspective of the first direction, the first electronic component 210 is the component in electronic modules 200A and 200B with a larger length (i.e., the first length L31) and width (i.e., the second length L32).

[0077] Furthermore, when the first length L31 of the first electronic component 210 is greater than half of the first accommodating length L11, it is impossible to arrange the electronic modules 200A and 200B in the same orientation along the second direction in the accommodating space 130. If the electronic modules 200A and 200B are to be arranged in the same orientation along the second direction in the same housing 100, the length L01 of the housing 100 in the second direction needs to be increased. That is, the design of the housing 100 needs to be changed to accommodate the two electronic modules 200A and 200B at the same time. Even so, since the first length L31 of the first electronic component 210 is different from the first length L41 of the second electronic component 220, some of the accommodating space 130 will still not be utilized by the first electronic component 210 and the second electronic component 220, resulting in poor space utilization efficiency. If the length L01 of the housing 100 in the second direction is not increased, and the first electronic component 210 and the second electronic component 220 are arranged side by side in the accommodating space 130 along the second direction, then the remaining space cannot accommodate another first electronic component 210. That is, the accommodating space 130 can only accommodate one of the electronic modules 200A and 200B, and the accommodating space 130 cannot be effectively utilized.

[0078] like Figure 5 As shown, the present invention arranges the first electronic component 210, which has a larger length and width in electronic modules 200A and 200B, in an offset and overlapping manner (the upper and lower directions are parallel to the Y direction), adjusts the size of the second electronic component 220 to match the size of the first electronic component 210, and makes the arrangement of electronic module 200A opposite to that of electronic module 200B in terms of upper and lower and left and right (the left and right directions are parallel to the X direction). This allows the housing 100 to accommodate two electronic modules 200A and 200B without increasing its size, thus greatly improving space utilization efficiency.

[0079] Please refer to Figure 6 , it is Figure 1 A schematic diagram showing the positions of the center of gravity GC of the electronic device 10 and the centers of gravity GC1 and GC2 of the two electronic modules 200A and 200B. Figure 6 In the configuration, electronic module 200A has a center of gravity GC1, and electronic module 200B has a center of gravity GC2. When electronic device 10 is placed vertically (i.e., the opening of housing 100 faces upwards), regardless of how the positions of the centers of gravity GC1 and GC2 change, the center of gravity GC (also known as the system center of gravity) of electronic device 10 is brought close to or located at the geometric center of electronic device 10. The aforementioned geometric center can be the first cross-sectional shape 131 (see...). Figure 5 The center point CP of ).

[0080] Please refer to Figure 7 , it is Figure 1 A schematic diagram illustrating the gravitational force F2 acting on the electronic device 10 and the suspension force F1. When the electronic device 10 is to be suspended vertically, an upward suspension force F1 can be applied to the electronic device 10 through the suspension hole 155 of the partition plate 150. The suspension force F1 can be the same in magnitude but opposite in direction to the gravitational force F2 acting on the electronic device 10. By having the center of gravity GC of the electronic device 10 close to its geometric center, it is beneficial to align the suspension force F1 and the gravitational force F2 in the vertical direction (parallel direction Z), thereby improving the stability during suspension and reducing the possibility of the electronic device 10 tilting during suspension.

[0081] Please refer to Figure 8 This is a schematic diagram of the appearance of an electronic device 1a according to an embodiment of the present invention. The electronic device 1a includes at least one of the aforementioned electronic devices 10 and a mounting unit 20, wherein the electronic device 10 is detachably mounted to the mounting unit 20. Figure 8 In this design, electronic device 1a is a liquid-cooled electronic device, and mounting unit 20 is a cabinet, which can also be a liquid cooling tank. Mounting unit 20 may include typical liquid cooling tank components (not shown), such as manifolds, heat exchangers, etc. Coolant (not shown) may be installed inside mounting unit 20, and electronic device 10 is immersed in coolant. The coolant level can be adjusted to at least immerse the high-heat-generating components (e.g., GPU, CPU) of electronic device 10 in coolant. The first shell portion 110 of housing 100 has heat dissipation holes 111, and the second shell portion 120 has heat dissipation holes 121, which facilitates the circulation of coolant inside and outside housing 100, thereby improving the heat dissipation efficiency of electronic device 10.

[0082] Figure 8In the mounting unit 20, the electronic device 1a includes a plurality of electronic devices 10, which may be arranged parallel to each other. Although not shown in the figure, the plurality of electronic devices 10 may be spaced apart from each other, but is not limited thereto. The electronic device 1a may include only one electronic device 10. How the plurality of electronic devices 10 are arranged parallel to each other in the mounting unit 20 is well known in the art and will not be described further here.

[0083] Figure 8 The mounting portions 154 and 206 of the electronic device 10 protrude from the server rack, but are not limited thereto. In some embodiments, the mounting portions 154 and 206 of the electronic device 10 may be lower than the server rack. The electronic device 1a may be, for example, an immersion cooling system, and the electronic device 10 may be, for example, a blade server, but is not limited thereto.

[0084] When installation or maintenance of the electronic device 10 is required, the operator can use the hanging part 154 to suspend the electronic device 10 from the mounting unit 20 in a vertical direction (e.g., parallel direction Z) for maintenance. The hanging part 154 facilitates the movement of the electronic device 10 in and out of the mounting unit 20, improving the convenience of installation and maintenance. Furthermore, by arranging the electronic modules 200A and 200B opposite to each other and interlocking, regardless of the changes in the positions of the centers of gravity GC1 and GC2 of individual electronic modules 200A and 200B, it helps to keep the center of gravity GC of the electronic device 10 close to its geometric center, thus improving stability during suspension. For more details, please refer to the above. Figure 6 The explanation is as follows. In addition, when one of the electronic modules 200A and 200B requires maintenance, the hanging part 206 facilitates the individual removal and installation of the electronic module 200A or 200B from the installation unit 20 without having to move the entire electronic device 10, which saves effort and simplifies the maintenance process.

[0085] Please refer to Figure 9 This is a schematic diagram of the appearance of an electronic device 1b according to another embodiment of the present invention. The electronic device 1b includes at least one of the aforementioned electronic devices 10 and a mounting unit 30, wherein the electronic device 10 is detachably mounted on the mounting unit 30. Figure 9 In this embodiment, electronic device 1b is an air-cooled electronic device, and mounting unit 30 is a frame. Mounting unit 30 may optionally include cooling elements (not shown), such as a fan. The first shell portion 110 of housing 100 has heat dissipation holes 111, and the second shell portion 120 has heat dissipation holes 121, which facilitates the circulation of gas, such as air, inside and outside housing 100, thereby improving the heat dissipation efficiency of electronic device 10.

[0086] Figure 9In this embodiment, electronic device 1b contains only one electronic device 10, but is not limited thereto. Electronic device 1b may contain multiple electronic devices 10 arranged parallel to each other in the mounting unit 30. How multiple electronic devices 10 are arranged parallel to each other in the mounting unit 30 is well known in the art and will not be described in detail here.

[0087] Figure 9 The hanging portions 154 and 206 of the electronic device 10 protrude from the frame, but are not limited thereto. In some embodiments, the hanging portions 154 and 206 of the electronic device 10 may not protrude from the frame. The hanging portion 154 facilitates the removal and installation of the electronic device 10 into the mounting unit 30, improving the convenience of installation and maintenance. The hanging portion 206 facilitates the removal and installation of the electronic module 200A or the electronic module 200B separately into the mounting unit 30 without having to move the entire electronic device 10, saving effort and simplifying the maintenance process.

[0088] It is particularly important to note that, Figure 8 In this description, electronic devices 1a and 1b are illustrated using an immersion cooling tank as an example. However, electronic devices 1a and 1b of this invention can also be other liquid-cooled electronic devices, such as cold plate liquid cooling electronic devices, and the arrangement can be as follows. Figure 9 As shown, the cooling element (not shown) can be a cold plate. This invention is not limited to the specific type of cooling device used in electronic devices 1a and 1b.
